Virgo(f) x Aquarius(m)
A high school love story requested by lovelycutties
"It's so dam cold!" Virgo whined.
"You should've of bundled up more." Aquarius said laughing. Virgo pouted and punched his arm. They stared at the trees covered in snow.
"These cherry blossom trees are so beautiful in the spring." She said. She looked at Aquarius. "Aquarius what do you think of close connections?" She asked. Aquarius shrugged.
"I dunno." He said.
"I think of family." Virgo said. Aquarius made a 'tch' sound. Virgo knew Aquarius had a dysfunctional family so she elaborated. "It doesn't have to be your actual family. It can be friends or people you are close with."
"Why are you telling me this?" Aquarius asked.
"Well because I want to preserve the cherry blossom trees. I'm leader of the students council and I want the principal to agree with us." She said.
"I see." Aquarius said. "Do they hold some significance to you?" He asked.
"Remember what I said about close connections. That it doesn't always have to be family. For me it was my family." Virgo said. Aquarius looked at her.
"What happened?" Aquarius asked.
"Well my parents were fighting. We didn't have a good financial life. So they fought over money and even threatened to get a divorce. I didn't really care but my younger brother did. It affected him so much that he ran away and stopped at a bridge. We ran after him. He said if we didn't make up he would jump so... "
"He jumped?" Aquarius asked.
"Yes. But I have to say I'm grateful for that because of what my brother did it brought our family closer together. He was discharged in the spring and we took him to go see the cherry blossoms. He said that every spring he wants to go see the cherry blossoms as a family. It's what my brother said that gave me a motivation to preserve the cherry blossoms." Virgo explained. She had tears in her eyes.
"This walk way will change eventually." Aquarius said. Virgo looked at little sad.
"Yeah. But I like this town. Seeing how everything changes. Happy things, sad things. They'll all change eventually." Virgo said.
"The festival is coming up." Aquarius said.
"Yeah. I have to be with the student council." Virgo said.
"Sucks to be you." Aquarius sang.
"Hey!" Virgo said punching his arm. Aquarius rubbed his arm and laughed.
"Say Virgo... Do you really love me?" Aquarius asked.
"Yes. Why are you asking this all of a sudden?" Virgo asked. Aquarius looked at the ground.
"Because I think we should break up."
"Eh?"
"I'm holding you back from achieving your dream. That's what the vice president of the student council told me." Aquarius walked away from her leaving her alone in the snow.

The festival came. The snow was melting. Spring was here.
Aquarius was eating ice cream. A bear bumped into his back causing the ice cream to fall out of his hand.
"Hey!" He yelled. The bear removed its head. Then took a deep breath. Aquarius's eyes widened.
"Man this is only way I could get away from the student council."
"Virgo?" Aquarius asked.
"Oh hi Aquarius. Are you having fun?"
"Y-yeah." He said.
"What did I say about joking? I'm still your girlfriend right?" She asked. Aquarius shook his head.
"I wasn't joking. I was serious. I don't want to hold you back anymore." He said walking away.
"Oh." She said.

Aquarius looked up at the trees covered in snow. He saw Virgo looking at him.
"Have you been well?" She asked.
"Yeah." He said. "What's up?" He asked.
"I was waiting for you. I wanted to let you know." She said.
"Tell me what?" He asked.
"The cherry blossoms trees won't be cut down." Virgo said. "It's finally been decided."
"I see." Aquarius said.
"It was long. It was a goal I couldn't give up on. So it's finally came true." Virgo said.
"So you made your dream come true." Aquarius said.
"But I lost much for it. The months of time that I would have been able to spend with the person I love." Virgo explained. Aquarius looked down. "I love you." She said. "Even now, I've become to love you even more than before." She explained.
"We haven't talked all this time." Aquarius said.
"You're right. But I've watched you. I've been watching you all this time." She confessed. "Even without me, you were doing well. You went to classes without out coming to school late. You were working hard little by little everyday." She said smiling.
"Yeah. Even though making lunch was out of my reach. I put a good amount of effort into finding a job, too. The recommendation from school was bad, so I got rejected from many places. But I finally found a place recently. It's a small agency. A recycling shop. The office is pretty close. It's within this city. Communicating will be easy." Aquarius looked down.
"That's all I've got to say." He said. "Hey. What did I used to talk to you about? How did I talk to you, how did I laugh? You and I can't walk the same path. You'll graduate next year too. I'm sure you'll leave this place and go far away. You can go much further than me! But I can't... I'm stuck here. I'll be here forever. That's the kind of person I am." Aquarius explained.
"Then I'll go to you." Virgo said. Aquarius gasped. "I'll go to you."
"Why? You can go to a better place, Don't you see? You can go to a good college, meet a lot of people, get a lot of expectations and meet them! You got higher places waiting for you! Somewhere much higher than next to me!" Aquarius yelled his heart out.
"Don't belittle yourself so much. It's my choice. Rather than a higher place crafted by test scores or teacher recommendations, it's dearer to me. So... I'm coming to be with you! I'll come to you with everything I've got!" Virgo poured her heart out. Aquarius began laughing. Virgo was confused.
"Can't tell who's older here. I'll go. It's a little late, but I'll go to where you are too." He looked at Virgo smiling but his face faltered. She was crying.
"Aquarius... Aquarius!"
"What? What!?" He hugged her. "What? Don't cry. Don't cry..." He said voice breaking.
The end. Sorry it took so long.
