"Catch!"
Austin jumped up and stretched his arm out, catching the ball of ice with his hand before falling back onto the ground. The ice melted, before turning into a flame the size of a hand. The flame was floating right above Austin's hand, but the heat of the flame had no effect on him. Austin smirked cockily, raising his arm and getting ready to throw the fireball.
"Heads up, Tyler!"
Tyler turned around just in time to see the flame flying towards him. His eyes widened before covering his face with his arms, a shield of dirt and sticks emerging out from the ground to protect him.
The flame hit the shield before bouncing back towards Austin who ducked in time, causing the flame to head towards the Water Sign girls. Caitlin and Penny let out frightened squeals and cowered behind Sam as she caught the flame in her hand, protecting her friends. The flame was replaced with a ball of water floating above Sam's hand.
"Careful, assholes."
She threw the ball of water, aiming it at Grayson who was too busy laughing to realize it until it was a centimeter in front of him. He quickly gasped and placed his arms in front of him, causing a gust of wind to knock back the water. His eyebrows furrowed in annoyance.
"Hey! I wasn't the one who threw that!"
"Do I look like I care?" Sam replied, her nonchalant expression spread across her face like it always was. Even with her I-don't-give-a-damn face, her eyes could still freeze over hell. Twice, probably. Grayson had to look away to stop himself from shivering.
Carter grabbed the ball of water, holding it in his hand.
"Is this seriously what you do with your free time?" He squeezed his hand shut, causing the ball of water to burst as water squirted out of his hand. Once he opened his hand again, a small, pink flower was laying on his palm.
"Buzzkill," Leo muttered, crossing his arms and pouting along with Grayson.
Lia grabbed the flower from Carter's hand, looking at it curiously. "Nice! I'll take this~!" She walked off with the flower, leaving Carter a flustered mess.
Margaret watched over the Zodiac Signs from one of the windows of the third floor of Zodiac High and smiled softly.
"They've gotten much better at controlling their powers," she thought out loud, intently watching her students play around with their magic.
"Mmm." Elizabeth, one of the teachers at Zodiac High, nodded in agreement, walking up beside Margaret and looking out over the students. "They've certainly gotten stronger."
Elizabeth looked over at Margaret. "Do you think they'll be able to do it?"
Margaret's expression instantly dropped in a mix of shock and dread, but she quickly covered it up with a smile. "I sure hope so." She let out a laugh, but anyone could tell it was to mask her insecurity.
Elizabeth kept her gaze locked on Margaret. She could tell she was scared.
"Margaret!"
Margaret and Elizabeth turned around to see Clara — the klutz of the teachers. She ran up to her two colleagues, worry spread across her face as she caught up to them and pushed up her glasses.
"We've spotted him!"
"Who?" Margaret asked concerned.
"Him."
Margaret's eyes instantly widened as she finally understood what was happening. She quickly rushed over to her small microphone, holding down on a button and leaning over her desk and into the mic.
"All students meet up at the homeroom immediately! This is not a drill, I repeat; this is not a drill!"
Margaret looked back at Clara and Elizabeth, worry spread across each of their faces.
"Is... Is he close?" Margaret asked.
Clara nodded. "He's almost reached the island."
Margaret seemed to stop breathing for a moment, before she caught her breath again. She could hear her heartbeat, and trembled slightly.
"Are the students even ready?" Elizabeth asked, her eyes wide in shock and slight disbelief as she averted her gaze from Clara to Margaret.
"They're gonna have to be now," Margaret explained, her heartbeat quickening even more. "They have no choice."
--
"I have some important information for you all."
Margaret looked over at the Zodiac Signs, looking for the right words to use.
"You see--"
Margaret stopped as a noise could be heard in the distance. It gradually grew louder and louder, causing Margaret's eyes to widen in utter fear.
He's here...
"Everyone get outside right now! I'll meet you by the plane!" Margaret ordered, before everyone rushed outside and everything turned into utter chaos.
Caitlin's necklace fell off from around her neck, causing her to turn back around and try to get through the crowd to find it. She kneeled down to pick it up, but ended up getting a leg in her face, kicking her away and knocking her out.
"21, 22, 23..."
Margaret's eyes widened as she realized she was missing a student.
"Where's Caitlin?" Penny asked, looking over the students, looking for her friend. Once she realized Caitlin wasn't with them, she averted her gaze up at Margaret fearfully.
Penny instantly stood up from her seat and ran out of the plane, Sam following behind.
Margaret turned towards Elizabeth. "If I don't come back in time, leave." Margaret then followed after Penny and Sam.
Margaret ran towards the entrance. Penny and Sam were nowhere around, so she figured they had already gotten inside. As Margaret was nearing the entrance, she noticed something falling from the sky.
Her eyes widened as the entire front of Zodiac High exploded into flames.
--
Sam lifted her head off from her arms, looking around her and seeing a cloud of dust surrounding the entire room.
She stood up, looking behind her and seeing the entrance blocked off by the collapsed wall. She averted her gaze above her, seeing the ceiling had cracked and was ready to collapse any second.
She turned back around, seeing Penny laying on the ground. Sam ran towards her, sitting down on her knees next to her and rolling her over, seeing she was unconscious. Sam checked her neck for a pulse, and breathed out in relief as she felt her heartbeat.
Sam looked up from Penny's unconscious form, seeing Caitlin sitting against a wall. Sam stood up, making her way to her blonde friend and kneeling beside her.
"We'll talk about your idiocy once we're safe."
Caitlin looked up at Sam, nodding sadly. A cracking sound could be heard, causing Sam and Caitlin to turn their attention to the ceiling, seeing the cracks were growing bigger above Penny. They both stood up, but the ceiling collapsed before either of them had the chance to do anything.
They covered their faces in fear as the ceiling fell, but it never reached the ground.
Sam and Caitlin looked up, seeing the ceiling was frozen in place right before it could hit the ground and crush Penny, thanks to Margaret's telekinesis ability. She stood there, holding the small brunette.
"Let's go," she told the two Water Signs in front of her, before turning around and walking, Sam and Caitlin following behind. Once they had made it outside, Margaret let the ceiling fall, causing a loud crash. The plane took off instantly as they made it inside.
Margaret sat Penny down at one of the seats by the window, Caitlin sitting next to her with Sam on Caitlin's other side. Margaret stood at the front, looking over the Zodiac Signs.
Everyone was silent, Margaret figured it was out of shock and fear.
"I'm taking you guys somewhere safe. I'll explain more once we're there," Margaret explained, before sitting down at one of the seats in the front.
She looked out the window, seeing another plane land by Zodiac High. She watched as a man stepped out of it. She couldn't see who it was, but she knew very well who it was.
Sullivan looked up at the plane and smirked.
Found you.
~ Extra ~
"You idiot!"
Sullivan hit his colleague in the back of his head, causing him to let out an "ow".
"Look at what you did!" He pointed at the entrance of Zodiac High angrily. "You could've killed someone!"
"I thought that was the point?"
"Idiot!!"
Sullivan hit the back of his head again.
"Seriously George, what were you thinking?!"
"I thought you wanted them dead?" George asked, rubbing the sore spot at the back of his head.
"I do, but not at the hands of you, you pig!"
Sullivan rubbed the bridge of his nose, groaning in annoyance as George let out a sheepish laugh.
"Oops?"
----
