Chapter Three

Pisces' POV

I awoke from the sound of someone loudly knocking on my door, and I rubbed my eyes as I slowly and lazily crept out of bed, stumbling towards the door.

When I finally opened the door I was surprised to see Scorpio, gazing down at me with a slightly bored expression on his face.

"Good morning, Scorpio..." I mumbled, yawning.

Scorpio sighed.
"Did you just wake up?"

I yawned again and said, "Yeah, I was up all night yesterday finishing my homework."

The day before I procrastinated until the last minute, so I had to pull an all-nighter.

Scorpio closed his eyes and shook his head in disappointment.
"Pisces, the bell is going to ring in about ten minutes and you're not even ready yet..." he groaned.

"What?!" I yelled in surprise, and checked my digital clock. Scorpio was telling the truth (not that I doubted what he was saying), and I began to panic.

"I-I'm sorry, Scorpio, but I have to get ready, see you soon!" I shouted frantically, and slammed the door.

I began to get ready as quickly as I could. I slipped on a casual and comfortable dress, and brushed my teeth. After washing my face, I brushed my hair harshly, wincing every time I got through a tangle.

I looked in the mirror and smiled. Everything seemed to be good, so I dashed out the door, again surprised to see Scorpio waiting in the hallway.

"You got ready faster than I expected." He muttered.

I smiled slightly. "Well, we should get to class."

Scorpio nodded. "Yeah, let's go."

"You didn't have to wait for me, you know.." I muttered, but was secretly flattered that he did.

Scorpio shrugged. "It's no problem. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if you forgot our schedule."

I sheepishly laughed. "Yeah, um... What class do we have?"

Scorpio's POV

While Pisces and I walked to Zodiac History, we continued to talk about small, random things.

Once we ran out of things to say, I began thinking about the way the people I'd met had somewhat changed me. It'd only been three weeks since meeting them, and I had already started to talk to people and enjoy some conversations, and I ever-so-slightly began to open up to people more.

Everyone I hung out with got me to be that way, but Pisces definitely had the greatest effect on me. She brought the good in me, something that I never really thought or cared about until then.

Suddenly, I noticed something sticking out in the back of Pisces' dress.

"Pisces, your tag is sticking out." I said, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"R-really?" She asked, and tried to reach the part where the tag was.

"Here," I muttered, and stepped behind Pisces. I gently grabbed the tag, and tucked it back into her dress. My fingers brushed against Pisces' skin, and I tried not to get distracted by how soft it felt. I stepped away from her and began walking down the hall again.
Pisces stared at me for a moment, slightly blushing. She then looked away.

"So Scorpio," Pisces said, trying to change the subject, "Why don't you like school?"

I looked at her and raised a brow.
"I never really liked it because I thought it was pointless," I muttered, "Anything someone teaches me I can most likely learn by myself."

Pisces nodded in understanding.

"What about you?" I asked, genuinely curious.
Pisces looked at me, confused.

"What's the worst thing about school to you?" I explained.

Pisces made an "oh" face and thought for a moment.
"I don't really like homework." She said, and I nodded in agreement.

"But," Pisces said softly, "I guess that the friends I've made make up for that."

Pisces looked at me right in the eye, and I gave her a small, genuine smile. She widened her eyes in shock, and I looked at her in confusion.

"What?" I asked.

"Y-you smiled!" She said, still surprised.

I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Can I not smile?" I asked, sounding colder than I wanted to.

"Oh, no! That's not it," Pisces said reassuringly, "It's just that... You don't smile that much, so I was surprised. You should smile more... Not that you have to! You just... Have a nice smile."

I was the surprised one then. No one ever told me that I had a nice smile. That just proves how much you don't smile, I thought.

My eyes softened and I lightly smiled again, and we continued to walk down the hallway towards the classroom.

Taurus' POV

"Taurus, you're not allowed to have food in the classroom." Cancer warned, concerned that I'd get into trouble. I rolled my eyes, sitting down in a desk while Cancer took the seat beside me.

"It'll be fine." I said carelessly.

"But the bell's about to ring! The teacher will be here any minute." Cancer said frantically.

"I'm almost done anyways." I pulled a chip out of the bag and threw it up in the air, catching it in my mouth.

Cancer smiled, slightly entertained. However, I could still clearly see the worried look in his eyes.

"Cancer, don't worry about it! It'll be fine, I promise." I said, trying to get him to feel less concerned.

I wasn't used to someone feeling worried for me, so I honestly didn't know what to do about it. Cancer feels worried about everyone in that way, but still. It's nice to know someone cares. But since I rarely felt concerned for other people (that sounds way meaner than I want it to be), I didn't know how to react towards someone feeling that for me.

"Hey, Taurus!" a recognizable voice called, and I looked up to see Aries standing in front of my desk. I rose a brow at him, wondering why he randomly came over to greet me.

"Can I have a chip?" he asked. So that's what he wanted, I thought.

I furrowed my eyebrows, thinking for a moment. I normally didn't share, but if Aries took the chips Cancer wouldn't have to be worried about me getting into trouble anymore. I gave Aries the bag of chips.

"Just take the rest." I said monotonously and looked away.

"Really?! Awesome!" Aries exclaimed happily and walked towards his seat near Leo and Sagittarius.

"Thanks, Taurus!" Aries yelled and grinned while taking a seat in the back with his friends.
Cancer looked at me with wide eyes, and I smirked.

Aries' POV
"Hey Aries, where'd you get the chips from?" Leo asked.

"Yeah, I didn't see you stop at a vending machine." Sagi added.

I smiled triumphantly. "I got them for free from Taurus!"

"Whaaaat?!" Leo gasped in surprise, and I looked at him with a confused expression on my face.

"Taurus never gives anyone her snacks!" Sagi explained.

"What blackmail did you have on her?" Leo asked.

I rolled my eyes. "I didn't need any blackmail! I just asked her for a chip, and she just gave me the bag." I explained.

Sagi and Leo looked at each other and looked back at me, smirking.

"Does Taurus have a crush on you?" Leo asked, with a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Are you and her dating?" Sagi questioned, with the same expression as Leo on her face.

"What?! No, of course not!" I shouted.

Leo and Sagi laughed, ignoring what I said.
"Aries, you got lucky," Leo said teasingly, "You'll be able to get food whenever you want!"

While they continued talking and I ate my chips, we didn't notice the bell ring and the teacher walking into the classroom.

"Aries!" The teacher shouted, and I looked up at the front of the classroom.

"How many times have I warned everyone not to eat in my class! Do you not respect my authority as your educator?" She yelled, and my eyes widened in shock. Leo and Sagi, however, thought that this was hilarious and couldn't stop snickering.

"Sorry..." I muttered.

The teacher sighed, and frowned at me.
"This will be your warning, Aries. Now, throw the rest in the garbage." She said sternly.

I sighed and got up from my seat, walking to the front of the classroom. I crumpled and tossed the bag of chips into the garbage, and walked back to my seat. I saw Taurus smirking evilly at me, but I noticed a tinge of guilt in her eyes. Beside her, Cancer was giving me an apologetic look, and I gave him a reassuring grin. He got the message, and relaxed a little bit.

When I sat back in my seat, Sagi and Leo were still quietly laughing.

"Well," Leo said, "I guess you and Taurus are going through a rough patch."

I jokingly, yet roughly pushed Leo's side, and he lost his balance and fell out of his seat.

Capricorn's POV

I frowned as I turned to look at the seats in the back. How could those people be so irresponsible? I turned back towards the front of the room, facing forwards again to focus on my schoolwork. We're in school, what we should be doing is learning as much as we can.

"It's good to learn lots, but it's also important to take a break once in a while, right?" A voice in my head reminded me of what Aquarius said, and I sighed.

I'm in class. I'm supposed to be learning, I counter-thought. Why does Aquarius always have to come in to my train of thought out of nowhere like that? I'm trying to focus!

My sudden frustrated mood got me to somehow work faster than before, so when half of the class passed, I had already finished my assignment. I guess working got me to stop thinking about that, I thought as I handed in my school work.

When I sat down, I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Aquarius sitting behind me, with a confused and slightly worried expression on her face.

"Hey... Do you mind if I ask you something about our assignment?" she asked, and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. I thought that she wasn't someone to be careless about school.

"I tend to overthink things, so I got caught up in my thoughts and accidentally blocked out part of what the teacher was saying..." Aquarius explained, and gave me an apologetic expression because she knew I didn't like it when people did stuff like that. But for some reason, I didn't seem to mind her actions that much.

I gave her a soft smile while saying, "What part are you confused about?"

Aquarius' eyes widened in shock for a moment, and grinned gratefully at me. She told me that she didn't know what to do after the first part of the assignment, so I explained it to her.

Virgo's POV

I frowned as I looked at Capricorn and Aquarius talking to one another. Capricorn wasn't acting like himself, for so many reasons.

Number one: Capricorn rarely explains the assignment to someone else if they didn't listen to the teacher! He normally thinks that it's their own fault and they shouldn't drag him into it.

Number two: Capricorn hates it when someone distracts him from his work or studying. He'd normally glare at the person who disrupted his work, but with Aquarius he was all smiles!

Number three: Capricorn would never talk so casually in class. He'd only be a part of a discussion that the teacher tells him to be in. The teacher definitely didn't tell him to be in that conversation.

I just don't get it! What got Capricorn to change so much? Nothing life-changing happened to him! Unless...

Alright, Capricorn might be a little fond of Aquarius, so what? Who cares? I certainly didn't. I just didn't like the way he had changed so much around her. He probably didn't even like her, he just wanted something to do after finishing his assignment. I was probably jumping to conclusions. Yeah, I was just trying to find a reason for Capricorn's odd behaviour. But, whatever. Even if he did like her, I didn't care about that...

Right?

"Virgo, are you alright?" Cancer whispered, clearly concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I grumbled.

Gemini's POV

"Libra, don't worry so much! She doesn't like him, trust me."

Lately, I've been trying to comfort and reassure Libra about Aqua and Capricorn. They'd been hanging out lately, so Libra's been getting all worked up and worried that they like each other.

Libra sighed and looked up at me with worried eyes while we walked out of the classroom and down the hall.

"Just because she doesn't like him now, doesn't mean she won't like him later on," he said sadly, looking back to see Aqua and Capricorn walking out of the classroom, talking to one another. "Look, they hang out so much one of them is going to fall for the other sooner or later."

I got really ticked off at what he was saying. It was like he forgot everything about Aqua! She won't just fall for anyone just like that. To tell you the truth, she didn't even have a crush on Libra. I wouldn't tell him that, of course. For Aqua, it takes time for that stuff. Or, maybe she was just being unpredictable again and keeping all her lovey-dovey feelings in her head.

I lightly smacked Libra on the back of his head. He looked at me, confused.
"What was that for?" he asked.

"Don't underestimate Aqua like that," I said seriously, "You and I both know that it takes more than a few conversations for her to like someone in that way."

"Yeah Libra, chill." Leo suddenly said as he and Sagi appeared by my side.
Libra sighed and nodded in defeat.

Sagittarius' POV

"Hey, guys!" Aqua called as she jogged towards us, leaving Capricorn behind.

I saw her send him an apologetic look, and he gave her a forgiving smile in return. He didn't seem to mind, for he had Virgo walk with him a   few moments after Aqua came to us.

Libra let out a quiet sigh of relief, and luckily Aqua didn't hear it.
"Hi, Aqua." Libra said, smiling.

He's become much happier now that she's here, I thought, smirking to myself.

"Hey, what class do we have right now?" Aries asked.

I thought for a moment. "I think we have Zodiac Identifying."

Aqua's eyebrows furrowed in confusion and slight frustration.

"Wait... Doesn't that mean we passed the spot where we were supposed to turn?" She asked, slightly worried.

Libra's eyes widened. "She's right! The Zodiac Identifying classroom is wayyyyyyy back that way!"

So, we all turned around and began walking towards the correct destination. We took our sweet time getting there, nobody was in a rush and Aries and I were arguing about whether or not we should move to Mars.

Once we got to the classroom, we were surprised to see that the door was locked and no one was in the classroom.

"The teacher must've taken our classmates somewhere for an activity of some sort... We all know he loves doing those kinds of things." Aqua said.

"I guess we should all split up so we can find the class faster. Once someone finds where they are, they'll text everyone else the destination." Gemini suggested, and everyone nodded in agreement.

"There are three main areas that they could be. The first floor, the second floor, or outside." Libra said.

"Alright, so Aqua and Libra should look outside." I said mischievously.

Aqua nodded without any complaints, oblivious to what I was planning. Libra, however, was trying to hide the pink tint on his cheeks.

"Gemini and Leo can go upstairs to the second floor, I guess." Aqua said, and I could tell that she was also planning something.

"Then Sagi and I will stay on the first floor and look around here." Aries said, and I nodded.

After a moment of letting that sink in, Aries finally shouted,
"Wait, WHAT?!"
"I don't want to be with that Mars supporter!" he pouted.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand, dragging him away.
"C'mon Aries, we don't want to get in the way of these ships setting sail."

Aries looked back at the groups. Leo and Gemini were already having way too much fun for their own good and I could literally sense Libra's blush from where we were standing.

"Those are ships, eh?.. Lovers sailing off to the great sea?" Aries muttered to himself before glancing at our intertwined hands.
"So what does that make us?"

We stared at each other for a moment, our faces getting redder every second. We looked away and ripped our hands from each others' grasp.

"We're the people that hit their boats with glass bottles." I say, keeping my gaze straight ahead.

"Yup." Aries agrees.

We glanced at each other, and end up bursting into laughter.

Leo's POV

Gemini and I were walking up the stairs to the second floor, joking around and taking our sweet time to actually get to our destination.

"Yeesh, we're all taking this so seriously," Gemini said jokingly, "We probably sounded like detectives discussing a plan for solving a recent crime."

I laughed lightly. Then, I remembered something.
"Wait. Weren't you the one to start that?" I asked.

Gemini's eyes widened, and then she laughed while rubbing the back of her neck.
"Oh yeah... I forgot about that part."

I smiled, and we continued talking while looking around the hall for our class.

We were about to pass the computer lab, but then Gemini grabbed my arm to stop me.
"Leo," she whispered, "That's where the class is."

I rose my brow at her, confused. "How do you know?"

She pulled out a small folded slip of paper and handed it to me.
"I found that by the Zodiac Identifying classroom," Gemini explained, "It fell off the door or something... maybe somebody accidentally ripped it off the door before anyone else could see it, we'll never know."

I opened the note and read aloud,
"Dear late students,
You were taking an unreasonably long time to get to the classroom, so we left without you. In case you're wondering, we left to the computer lab on the second floor.
Sincerely,
The Zodiac Identifying class
P.S:
Please leave this note where you found it; on the door to the classroom, to notify anyone else on this topic."

I stared at her, still just as confused. Why would Gemini hide this from everybody? Weren't we supposed to help everyone else find where we were supposed to go?

Gemini noticed my confused expression, and smirked mischievously.
"I hid the note from everyone so that we wouldn't have to go to class," she explained, "I thought that we could all use a little break from school and skip for once."

I widened my eyes at her for a second. I wasn't expecting Gemini to do something like that at all.

I didn't think Gemini was this mischievous..

Me likey.

I smirked at her, showing that I approved of what she wanted to do.

Gemini grinned. "Let's keep this our little secret, 'kay?"

Cancer's POV

Class was going by very slowly. Who knew that a lesson without the other zodiacs joking around in the background could be so... Dull?
Three quarters of class had already passed, and no one showed up yet. Taurus, Pisces, and I were finishing up our assignment on the computer, while Capricorn and Virgo had been chatting for about fifteen minutes because they finished their work already. Scorpio had also finished and was in his phone (he finished early because he types really fast... maybe because he types lots on his phone).

A lot of the time I considered our other classmates slightly annoying because they fooled around so much, but class seems kinda boring without them. After all, a lot of the time they were really entertaining!

After finishing up my assignment, I looked at the door expectantly, thinking that one of our missing classmates would appear.

"Cancer, I doubt anyone will come," Taurus said while sighing, "There's only ten minutes of class left."

I looked at her and nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Suddenly, I noticed someone someone scurry past the door. I knew that it had to be Gemini, because there was no one else I knew that had purple hair.

I immediately rose from my seat and asked the teacher if I could go to the washroom. He let me go, and before I rushed out the room I saw Taurus send me a suspicious glance before shrugging it off.

I went out of the classroom to find Gemini and Leo laughing and joking around. Both of their gazes landed on me, and I saw a look of panic rush across their faces.

I was shocked as well. They had skipped class?

"Hey, Cancer!" Gemini happily greeted. I smiled timidly and waved.

"Do you mind... not telling anybody about this?" Leo asked.

"Please?" They both pleaded.

I sighed. "Fine."

Leo and Gemini grinned, giving each other a high-five.

"Thanks, Cancer! You're the best!" They sang, dashing past me and bolting down the hallway.

Libra's POV

"Well, we've looked everywhere and haven't found anyone or anything. What should we do?" Aqua said, sounding slightly bored.

I shrugged. It had been quite a while, but we hadn't heard anything from anyone so far.
"How about we just... Talk." Aqua suggested, and I rose a brow at her.

"Talk?"

"Yes, talk. I could teach you how to do it if you don't know." Aqua teased, and we both smiled.

"Okay, okay. We can talk." I said.

"Good thing I have one of these around!" Aqua said, pulling a thin blanket from her bag and setting it down on the grass.

"Cmon Libra, sit down." Aqua invited, patting down on a spot beside her.

I was still staring at her in astonishment.
"You just have one of those lying around in your bag?" I asked.

Aqua nodded. "I like to lay down and look at the clouds sometimes, and I really don't like bugs getting in my hair." She explained.
I rolled my eyes.

"Libra, don't just stand there! Sit beside me!" Aqua called while yanking my arm, making me fall on the blanket. She laughed and we laid down.

Well, let's just say that the blanket was smaller than it looked. Aqua and I were nearly touching, and I lightly blushed at the close proximity.

"Y'know what I've always wanted to do, Libra?" Aqua asked, gazing up at the sky.

I rolled on my side and looked at her expectantly, waiting for her to continue.

"I've always wanted to learn about things that the schools don't have to offer. I mean, all we learn about is stuff that prepares us for our great responsibilities in the future and not about the things beyond that."

Being too focused on staring at Aqua, I barely heard what she was saying. While she stared up at the sky I admired her features.
"Wow." I accidentally muttered, but Aqua seemed to think I was just replying to what she was saying.

Aqua rolled on her side so we were facing each other and smiled.
"Well," she mumbled, "Maybe people aren't supposed to teach us that stuff. Maybe, to really discover and learn about more things, we have to experience them ourselves."

Aqua sighed, and I felt her breath brush by my cheeks making them slightly flush.
"You know what?" Aqua muttered, "I think I'd rather try those things myself than just get someone to hand the information I would've gotten from that experience to me."

"Yeah," I agreed, "I think that sounds much better."

We smiled at each other. The moment seemed to last forever, and if it did then I'd be fine with that. And at that very moment, I wanted to make sure she felt the same way.

I took a deep breath.
"Aqua?"

"Yeah, Libra?" she replied.

"I was wondering... do yo-"

Suddenly the bell rang, and Aries and Sagi were rushing towards us while shouting, "Oh, there you guys are!"

Aquarius' POV

"Hey!" I greeted, smiling.

"What've you two been doing?" Sagi asked, almost too innocently. For a moment I stared at her sceptically, but then decided to ignore it.

"We finished looking around for the class and couldn't find anything, so we've just been chatting." Libra explained. Sagi and Aries nodded, looking slightly disappointed.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Oh, um..." Aries trailed off, but Sagi quickly interrupted.

"It's just that we didn't find anything either."
I nodded in understanding.

"Hi, everybody!" Gemini called, and we all turned to find her and Leo running toward us.

We smiled at them and then Sagi said,
"I guess you guys didn't have any luck either with finding our classmates."

"Nope!" Leo and Gemini replied a little too quickly and excitedly.

Everyone is being so suspicious, I thought.

Suddenly my phone vibrated, notifying that I got a text from Capricorn. I immediately texted back, and we began a little conversation.

Capricorn: Hey

Me: Hi

Capricorn: Where were you during Zodiac Identifying?

Me: My friends and I were all split up to find where you guys are, and I was looking outside. Everyone said that they didn't find anything.

Capricorn: Oh

Me: So, where were you guys?

Capricorn: In the computer lab on the second floor.

Me: Really?

Capricorn: Yeah

Me: Oh...

Capricorn: You could've just asked me in the beginning, you know.

Me: Yeah, I didn't think about that :P

Capricorn: -_- Just ask me next time, okay?

Me: Are you sure I won't disrupt your work?

Capricorn: Nah, it's fine.

Me: Alright, thanks ^^

Capricorn: No problem

Capricorn: Gtg

Me: Ttyl

"Hey, Aqua!" Gemini called.

I looked up from my phone, turning it off and putting it in my pocket.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Who're you texting?"

"Capricorn."

"And?"

"He said that class was in the second floor computer lab," I glanced at Gemini and Leo suspiciously. "Would one of you care to explain?"

"Oh..." Gemini said, laughing lightly and rubbing the back of her neck, "Well, it's a long story..."
