Chapter Seven
3rd Person POV
Previously on Zodiac High...
It was Monday morning, the day after chapter six took place. The zodiacs were mentally preparing for another exhausting week of school as they walked into their classroom. Gemini was bouncing in her seat, bombarding her friend Aquarius with questions about her relationship with Capricorn who was having an incredibly hard time pretending he wasn't listening to every word.
"Aside from me and Leo, does anyone know you guys are dating?" Gemini asked.
"Nope, not yet." Aquarius replied.
"Why not!?"
"I haven't gotten to telling anyone! I want the topic to come up naturally..."
"I don't think that's gonna happen. Anyway, did you guys do anything else? Yknow, when Leo and I weren't watching?"
"I don't think that would be possible, Gemini. You two are always watching..."
"So true. Anywho, is he a good kisser?"
Capricorn flinched, feeling his face turn fifty shades of red. Aquarius hid her blushing face in her hands.
"Answer the question!" Gemini smirked.
Before Aquarius could say anything, a sudden commotion in the back of the room caught everyone's attention. The zodiacs turned around to find Leo tackling Libra, trying to take back his phone.
"Jeez you guys, get a room!" Sagittarius teased.
Leo finally managed to snatch his phone away from Libra's evil grasp.
"Tell that to Aqua and Cap." He grumbled while sitting back in his seat.
"Don't call me Cap!" Capricorn groaned.
Aries hummed in confusion.
"Why would we tell them that?"
Leo rolled his eyes.
"Because they're dating, duh."
...
"WHAT?!"
Pisces squealed to Scorpio about her ship sailing, Gemini couldn't stop laughing at Aquarius and Capricorn's despair while they sunk into their seats. Libra and Virgo sent each other glances and acted like they had no idea. Cancer looked at Taurus in surprise, but she didn't seem to be affected by anything. Aries and Sagittarius were shouting about how they had "aBsOLuTeLY nO iDeA tHaT tHiS wAs HaPpEnInG", and Leo was just confused.
"Was I not supposed to say anything?" he muttered to himself.
"Well Aqua," Gemini managed to speak between chortles, "I guess the topic came up naturally."
"We need to celebrate this newfound relationship!" Pisces exclaimed.
Capricorn sighed, "I don't think that's very necessar-"
"Let's have a party this Saturday!!" Sagittarius interrupted.
"This is an incredible plan!" Gemini shouted excitedly, and most of the class agreed.
Aquarius smiled half-heartedly. "You just want an excuse to have a party."
"Don't we all?" Leo got up from his seat and cleared his throat.
"Every morning we have to wake up to face mediocre days filled with mediocre classes that give our mediocre brains something to think about for the rest of our mediocre lives. Why suffer through this mediocrity more than we have to? Everyone... Let's get shit-faced. Let's make decisions we'll end up regretting. Let's live in the moment! Let's take the small amount of time and freedom we have to escape the blandness of our regular lives. LET'S HAVE A PARTY!"
Leo ended up standing on a desk with his fist in the air. The entire classroom was cheering, everyone was either pumped by Leo's speech or confused by the amount of times he said "mediocre" and decided to just play along.
And so it was decided. The zodiacs would have a party on Saturday!

Sagittarius' POV:
It was finally Saturday evening and I was setting up my dorm for the party that everyone would soon arrive at. I unlocked the door and hid any fragile objects. A popular Spotify playlist was playing in the background and red solo cups along with many different types of alcohol were sitting on the counter. If you're wondering how I got the booze, well... either my parents are super cool or I raided the liquor cabinet during my last visit. You decide what the truth is.
"It's almost like this school wants us to have parties," I grumbled to myself, "no average lonely student needs this huge of a room. It's more like a friggin condo. There aren't even weekend dorm supervisors... whatever. More fun for us!"
I heard the door open and turned to see Aries walk in.
I rolled my eyes. "Jeez, not even a knock?"
"Hello to you, too." he chuckled, "That is payback for cancelling our plans to hang out today."
"We are hanging out, Aries... just in a larger group. With lots of booze."
Aries spotted the variety of beverages on the counter.
"Holy shit, Sagi... who's your boot?"
"That's for me to know and you to... actually, no. You're never finding out, dick."
"Ouch. I love you too."
Next to come in was the trio of Gemini, Leo, and Libra. Also without a knock. Jeez.
It took about ten minutes for the remainder of the group to show up. Everybody grabbed a beer or a twisted tea and we all hung out in the living room.
"Let's get this shindig really going!" Gem exclaimed, "how about a game of truth or dare to start?"
Leo's POV
"Truth or dare is cool with me!" I said with a grin, and everyone agreed.
"Okay, I'll go first," Gem sent a mischievous smile towards Capricorn.
"Cap. Truth or dare?"
"Don't call me Cap." he groaned, "... truth."
"Would you punch Aqua for one million dollars?"
"No-"
"Yes," Aqua interrupted, "It's a million dollars! Money heals all wounds."
Capricorn sighed. "Fine. You never clarified how hard the hit had to be, so I'd lightly punch her... Virgo, truth or dare?"
Virgo picked dare and Capricorn had her eat a tomato, one of her least favourite foods. The game went on for a while, everyone at one point had to do or say something weird. Aqua admitted she was afraid of moths, and dared Sagi to lick Aries' knee.
"Why the knee?" Sagi whined as Aries pulled up a pant leg.
"It was the first body part that came to mind!" Aqua squeaked.
Sagi asked Cancer what his "type" was, and he responded in great detail.
"Brown hair, green eyes, short, reliable, stubborn, tough but sometimes really sweet... I like the smell of strawberries..." he rambled on until Sagi stopped him.
When Taurus picked truth, Cancer asked what HER type was. She said that she had no idea. Taurus then dared Aries to take a shot of hot sauce mixed with vodka. It looked like he almost died but he was fine after a good half hour. Pisces had to slap Scorpio in the face, and Scorpio admitted to being a huge weeb.
(A/N: a weeb is not the same as a weeaboo. Weebs are cool and don't own body pillows. Continue.)
Libra had to dunk his head in ice cold water, and then asked Gem who the cutest person in the room (aside from herself) was. She glanced around the room, her gaze lingering on me so I sent her a wink.
She rolled her eyes and announced, "Libra, because wet hair makes guys ten times hotter. Leo, truth or dare?"
I smirked. "Dare."
Gem walked up to me, sending a smirk right back.
"I challenge you," she poked my chest, "To a drinking game!"
Gemini's POV:
"So we're gonna watch a movie," Leo clarifies, "and every time... something happens, we take a shot?"
"Yes," I nodded, "now we just have to pick a movie."
After Leo and I jumped onto the couch and started scrolling through Netflix, the game of truth or dare ended and everyone grabbed more drinks and went off to do their own thing. I wasn't really paying attention to anyone due to the fact that I was about to watch a movie with Leo, who I'm sure everyone could tell I had a crush on. I am not ashamed! Crushes are great until your heart gets curb stomped, which has yet to happen so I'm happy.
I don't really know why I chose to have a drinking game, I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. I guess it was a smart way to watch a movie with him without being too forward. Good lord, I'm a genius. Everyone should be taking notes.
Leo and I finally decided to watch the Bee Movie, and the rule was to take a shot of whiskey whenever there was a punny joke.
I was feeling good in the beginning, it didn't seem like I was getting any more drunk than Leo was. About halfway through the movie, I was getting that buzzed and giddy feeling. I couldn't help but giggle at every line. Leo was in the same state as I was, every time a person walked by he'd ask if they liked jazz. When he asked Virgo, she smacked him in the back of the head. I laughed as he winced in pain and Virgo smirked while walking away.
"Aw, poor muffin," I said through giggles while patting his head.
"Shut uuuup..." Leo whined, "it doesn't even hurt."
I smacked the same spot. "How about now?"
"Ouuuch! I don't deserve this!"
"I'm sorry... I didn't know I was so powerful."
"Gemini, you suck."
My drunken self was moving faster than my brain and I moved closer to Leo.
"No I don't! Let me kiss you to make it feel better."
I draped my arms around his neck and brought my face closer to his own.
"Wha-" Leo sputtered, "whaaaaat?"
"You don't want me to?" I pouted, "fine. I am gonna kiss somebody, though!"
"Wait, I do-"
"EVERYONEE!" I yelled, "COME OVER HERE!"
I got up from the couch and grabbed an empty beer bottle while everyone walked into the living room.
"Everybody sit down in a circle," I announced excitedly, "we are playing spin the bottle!"
Cancer's POV:
"Yeah, no." Virgo shook her head.
"I'm with Virgo on this one," Capricorn said, "only lame teens play spin the bottle."
"It's a good thing we're lame teens!" Gemini argued, "Do I need to remind you all that I can turn this beer bottle into a weapon?"
"You wouldn't do that-" Aqua began before she was interrupted by Sagi,
"Everyone sit the fuck down, I am not cleaning glass off my floor."
We all immediately sat in a circle.
"Wooooo!" Gemini squealed. She plopped down beside Leo and placed the beer bottle in the centre of the circle.
"Let's play! I call spinning first!"
With a flick of her wrist, the bottle began to spin. It was kind of hypnotizing to watch, I barely noticed it slow down and come to a full stop...
Pointing directly at me.
I could feel my face heat up and all eyes were on me. I heard "ooo"s along with laughter around the room and Gemini was grinning from ear to ear.
"Aw yay, Cancer! C'mere, you cutie!" Gemini cooed.
"Is this okay?" I asked as I scooted towards her.
"Of course it's okay! Here, if you're not comfortable with it I'll let you go... only if you gimme a kiss on the cheek though." Gemini giggled.
I gulped while nodding, too flustered to say anything as she turned her head. I leaned in to give Gemini a quick peck on the cheek, but was caught off guard when she turned her head back towards me. Our lips met for a moment and I quickly jumped back to my spot in the circle. Gemini gave a joyful grin and everyone in the circle cheered. My hand covered my mouth and I was blushing like mad.
"You're welcome, Cancer!" Gemini sent me a wink, "now spin the bottle so other people can smooch!"
I spun the bottle, and it landed on Sagittarius which meant she had to spin again and find out who she had to kiss. The beer bottle whirled around and eventually landed on...
Virgo.
They blushed, and Sagi cleared her throat.
"Well Virgo, hope you're okay with being kissed by a girl."
Virgo couldn't seem to get a word out, and soon enough they met in the middle.
Leo and Aries were quietly chanting "kiss, kiss, kiss..." but stopped after receiving death glares from the girls.
Sagi and Virgo shared a quick kiss, and everyone cheered once again.
The next victims were Aries and Pisces. Aries must have been hyped on alcohol or adrenaline because he was raving to go, he hopped up and offered Pisces his hand to help her stand. Aries grabbed Pisces' waist, swept her around and did that tango dip dance move. While they were in that position he leaned in and they shared the longest kiss thus far, during which Pisces wrapped her arms around Aries' neck and they twirled around tightly embracing each other. After a few seconds they moved away from each other.
When Pisces was let go she stumbled back to her spot and sat down, her face was a deep shade of pink and she couldn't help but smile.
"That was the most romantic thing ever!" she giggled.
"Really?" Aries grinned triumphantly, rubbing his face to hide his rosy cheeks.
"I thought I'd try it out. I was worried it'd be too over the top..."
"I love over the top!" Pisces exclaimed.
It was shocking that the two did not notice the anger radiating off of Scorpio.
"Well," Libra coughed to cover up his discomfort, "I guess we should find out who's kissing next. Spin the bottle, Pisces!"
Pisces gave a nod and spun the bottle around, it eventually landed on a excited Leo.
"Yessssss!" he shouted excitedly while grabbing the bottle, "let's see who the lucky lady will be!"
Leo gave the bottle an enthusiastic spin. It went round and round, until finally landing on the best candidate for Leo...
Libra.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Libra grumbled while Leo loudly groaned in dismay.
"What's the problem?" Sagittarius smirked, "is your masculinity too weak to allow you to kiss a guy?"
"No," Leo denied, "it's simply too strong."
"Just kiss!" Gemini demanded, "This is karma. You chose not to knock on paradise's door so here we are."
Aqua tilted her head in confusion.
"Uh... what?"
"Don't worry about it!" Leo yelled, "and for the record, I didn't choose anything. You acted too fast for me to respond!"
"Excuses excuses!" Gemini rolled her eyes, "just kiss the guy already!"
"Fine!"
Before Libra could react, Leo jumped at him and gave him a peck on the lips. Everyone applauded the boys as they sat back up, wiping their mouths and taking a big gulp of their drinks.
"We never speak of this." Leo grumbled.
"We don't have to," Sagi laughed, "I recorded it!"
Leo and Libra launched at Sagi in attempts to grab her phone but she kicked them away in five seconds.
"Let's just continue." Capricorn sighed.
Libra spun the bottle and it landed on Aqua, her cheeks immediately turned pink.
"Here goes nothing..." she mumbled and whacked the bottle to get it spinning.
When the bottle started to slow down, Capricorn stopped it when it was pointing at himself.
"What the hell!" Leo yelled, "that's no fair!"
"I don't see a rule book," Capricorn said monotonously.
During all this, Aqua was a blushing mess.
"Nobody stops the bottle during spin the bottle!" Gemini whined.
"That's because nobody's got the balls to," Capricorn retorted, "isn't the whole point of this game to rely on a one in twelve chance that you'll end up kissing who you want? Fuck that. If there's an opportunity to kiss the girl I like I'm gonna take it. Any objections?"
The room was silent. I glanced at Taurus, imagining myself stopping the bottle so we'd be able to kiss. My heart skipped a beat at the thought.
Capricorn smirked. "Good,"
He turned to Aquarius and kissed her. After breaking away from the kiss, Aqua was blushing even more than before and she rested her head on a proud Capricorn's shoulder.
"Dude..." Aries spoke, "you're a straight up god."
"Let's make a shrine for Capricorn." Leo agreed.
"All hail Capricorn." the guys (including me) somehow said in unison.
"Stop being weird." Capricorn grumbled and spun the bottle, it landed on Taurus.
She grimaced. "Do I have to?"
"Yes." I accidentally blurted out and tried to cover it up.
"Almost everyone else has..."
Taurus shrugged and gave the bottle an aggressive spin. It twirled for what seemed like for forever, and when it began to slow down I couldn't help but think back to what Capricorn said.
"If there's an opportunity to kiss the girl I like I'm gonna take it."
I could feel my hand twitch, wanting to stop the bottle. When I looked up at everyone around me, I couldn't help but cower. I didn't want anyone to judge me, or get rejected!
The only reason it was okay for Capricorn to do it is because he's dating Aquarius. He knew it'd work. I don't, I thought to myself.
I glanced up at Taurus to find her staring at me expectantly. I tilted my head in confusion, she looked down at the bottle very slowly spinning and back up at me. My eyes widened and Taurus gave me a quick nod, still staring expectantly.
"Hah! I guess you're kissing Scorpio!" Leo's words brought me out of my trance and I looked at the bottle to see it pointed at the guy sitting right beside me. I tried to hide my disappointment, but I was internally screaming at myself.
Scorpio smirked and crawled towards Taurus, who smirked right back at him.
He gently grabbed her chin. "Well, aren't you lucky."
Taurus put her arms around his neck.
"Don't get cocky."
Their kiss seemed to go in slow motion, and I had to stare at my twiddling thumbs. Everyone's loud cheers and whistles were drowned out by my intense thoughts of regret.
God, I hate spin the bottle.
Pisces' POV
After Taurus and Scorpio broke apart, I was left with an odd feeling. Everyone was laughing and cheering, but seeing them kiss just didn't settle right. I suppose I had no right to think like this, considering the fact that I shared a kiss with Aries... but I couldn't help how I felt. It hurt to see someone I was so close to act like that with someone else. Lately I had been getting mixed signals from Scorpio, with what had happened last week and some odd tension between us since then. I didn't know what to do about it, I valued our friendship but I couldn't help but feel as though there was something missing. I wanted something more, but wasn't honest enough to admit to myself what that "something" was. All of these feelings on top of seeing Scorpio and Taurus kiss was just becoming too much.
Without thinking, I stood up abruptly and everyone stopped their banter to look at me.
"Um..." I frantically mustered up something to say, "I'm done with spin the bottle! I'm gonna grab myself a drink."
"Pisces has got the right idea," Aqua grunted while getting up, "I think I might eat some instant ramen."
"Wait a damn minute!" Leo yelled, "I need to kiss a girl! What if I die and the last person I ever kiss is Libra?"
"Watch it. I'm a damn good kisser." Libra smirked.
"Damn right," Virgo chuckled, and everyone stopped to look at her.
Leo rose a brow, "... say what now?"
"Nothing, it was a joke... just nevermind." Virgo huffed.
Libra laughed, "You make some weird jokes."
Everyone got up and started doing their own thing, I went to the counter to pour vodka and orange juice into my red solo cup.
"Hi Pisces," Cancer greeted me with a disheartened tone. "Whatcha drinking?"
I gave him a sad smile.
"Just some liquid courage. Want some?"
Cancer's eyes brightened, like he had a major realization.
"I could use some courage!" he exclaimed while I fixed him a drink, "thank you."
"What do you need courage for?" I asked teasingly, taking a sip of le alcohol.
Bleh, it's too strong.
Cancer smiled while swirling his drink like he was holding a glass of wine, he seemed lost in thought.
"A girl."
"Oh, you mean Taurus?"
Cancer nearly dropped his cup.
"How'd you know?" he sputtered.
"Lucky guess," I replied. I didn't have the heart to tell him it was incredibly obvious, and I'm sure he would've been worrying for months if I had said something.
"You'd be cute together."
"Do you really think so?"
"I know so! Why don't you go for it?"
Cancer sighed. "Like I said... I don't have the courage."
I smiled, grabbing the bottle of vodka. I could relate to Cancer, but he was already much braver than me because he was at least able to admit how he was feeling.
"Well... I guess that means we should have another drink."
Aquarius' POV:
If I'm not the worst at partying, I don't know who is.
There I was, sitting at the table with a bottle of tequila and a cup of instant ramen observing the fun instead of being a part of it. I guess I become a hungry antisocial weirdo when I've got alcohol in me... Okay, maybe I'm like that all the time. Whatever. Don't judge me.
This was a great time for me to see how chaotic our friend group was, though. I'm always in my own world, oblivious to what's going on around me. Some might think it's because I don't care, but honestly my head's just too far up in the clouds to notice anything. I guess that's why I like Capricorn, he helps me get back down to earth when I need to. Sorry, back to the night at hand.
Gemini and Leo were singing karaoke loudly and poorly. It was such torture to hear them butcher classic duets like Endless Love. Eventually they just started slow dancing to the... wordless... karaoke songs.
I can't decide if this is adorable or pathetic... can it be both?
Aries and Sagittarius were playing multiplayer DS games, every time the game ended one started tackling the other and they'd wrestle for a good five minutes until going back to playing games.
How have they not noticed that their 'wrestling' is just aggressive hugging?
I stopped for a mere second to admire my delicious ramen, and barely noticed Taurus and Cancer rush past me and into the bathroom before slamming the door.
Wait... those two? I had no idea... I have to stay alert! But not too alert... they need privacy heehee.
I tried to keep my eyes sharp, but found that to be impossible due to the fact that I was drunk and drowsy. I wouldn't give up though, I needed to make sure I didn't miss any details. I was the journalist for the night!
Scorpio was watching a movie, only to be interrupted by a drunken Pisces jumping on him.
Ooo... Pisces is taking charge. I like it!... This feels weird to watch! Am I invisible to these people or something?
I averted my gaze to find Capricorn and Virgo sitting on the floor and chatting.
I should be jealous, right? But I'm not. They're good friends, and my man is loyal!.. I need more alcohol.
I began to pour tequila into my cup of half-eaten instant ramen. I mixed it all together and took a big bite of noodles.
Mmmmmm, that's disgusting.
"Uh... are you doing okay, Aqua?"
Taurus' POV:
I was just minding my business lounging on the couch when Cancer sat beside me.
"Hellooooo!" he cooed, draping an arm over my shoulder.
"...hi?" I managed to say, his face was mere inches away from mine and I could tell from his red face and giddy demeanour that he was too drunk to care.
"Guess what?" he chuckled, "I have a secret."
"What is it?" I rose a brow.
Cancer leaned towards my ear.
"I'm drunk," he whispered.
I rolled my eyes.
"And I'm not drunk enough. I'm gonna grab a beer."
I expected Cancer to wait on the couch, but he followed closely behind me to the kitchen.
While I grabbed a beer from the fridge, Cancer leaned over the counter and stared at me with a dopey smile.
"What is it?" I asked hesitantly, popping the cap off the bottle with the counter's edge.
Sorry, counter.... don't rat me out.
"You're so pretty." he grinned while striding towards me.
We were so close I could feel his body heat, and he rested his forehead against mine. I could feel my face heat up a million degrees and my heart began to pound out of my chest.
"Uh... I... ah shit!"
I didn't notice that my bottle was tilted so it was pouring all over Cancer's shirt.
He didn't seem to notice either until he looked down.
"Oh noo! How'd that happen?"
I groaned and grabbed his hand, quickly dragging him to the bathroom and slamming the door behind us.
"What're we doing in here?" Cancer asked.
I rolled my eyes and put my bottle by the sink, pressing a towel against his chest.
"I'm cleaning you up, dummy... fuck, I'm sorry. Your shirt is gonna smell like beer."
"Don't apologize," Cancer put his hand above my own and stared deeply into my eyes, "I'm glad I get to be alone with you."
I could feel my face heat up once again but tried not to lose composure.
"You're drunk, Cancer."
"I know! Isn't it great? I'm so courageous now, I can... hey, I've got an idea!"
Cancer moved away from me and grabbed the beer bottle, emptying its contents into the sink. He sat on the floor, gesturing me to do the same so I sat across from him.
Cancer placed the bottle on its side between us.
"Spin the bottle!"
"What? Why?"
"Please Taurus," Cancer begged, "I really need you to."
When I looked into his pleading eyes I couldn't resist, so I spun the bottle. It twirled round and round, and when it began to slow down Cancer stopped the bottle when it was pointing at himself. He let out a triumphant laugh.
"Hey, look at that! I guess we have to kiss now!"
I couldn't help but smile, but I knew that this was too good to be true.
"Cancer, you're not thinking straight. I don't want you to regret anything..."
"I think about kissing you all the time," Cancer spoke in a serious tone, "earlier I missed my chance, but now... I finally get to."
"Really?" I stammered, my face red like a tomato, "Why do you think about that?"
"Because I like you Taurus! Do you like me?"
"I... of course I do! But you're drunk and you're not gonna remember any of this, Cancer!"
Cancer crawled towards me and placed his hand on my cheek, looking me right in the eyes before trailing his gaze down to my lips.
"Then remind me."
And with that, Cancer and I began making out in Sagittarius' bathroom.
Virgo's POV:
I noticed Capricorn sitting against the wall by himself so I decided to approach him.
"Hey," I said while sitting beside him, "what're you doing over here?"
He drowsily looked over at me, and I finally noticed how drunk he actually was. I was surprised, I thought he'd stay at least a little sober. That's what I did; I drank alcohol in moderation and made sure to drink water. I think that was my problem with the whole Capricorn thing, I assumed we were similar in every way so I never would've guessed that we didn't feel the same way about each other which made it hurt so much more.
"I got tired of standing so I sat down... but now I can't get up." he slurred.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"I'm gonna get you some water."
When I returned with a glass of water, Capricorn was staring off into space. I set the cup down and sat beside him, patting him on the shoulder to get his attention.
Capricorn looked at me with wide eyes.
"Beautiful!"
I could feel my cheeks heat up.
"Wh-what?"
"Look over there," he pointed at the table, where Aqua was sitting alone and slurping up noodles.
"Isn't she the prettiest?"
Oh.
"Aquarius is very pretty. I'm happy for you two."
I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.
"How'd I get so lucky? Why should a girl like her like a guy like me?"
"You're the perfect guy, Capricorn! You're smart, attractive, mysterious... it makes people want to figure you out. Getting close to you isn't easy, but that's why it so much more worth it in the end. Any girl would be happy to have you."
Capricorn smiled at me and patted my head.
"Thanks, Virgo. You're such a good friend."
The word "friend" echoed in my head and I could feel my heart drop to the floor.
Why do I still like him?! Why can't I just let go?
I scanned the room for Libra, to find him sitting with Aquarius. He was the only person that could help me forget my feelings, even if it was just for a short amount of time. But... I didn't want to bring anyone down with me.
If you let them be he might get hurt in the same way you did just now.
Go to him.
I shook my head and tried to resist temptation. Libra and I couldn't help but go to each other when we were upset, because we were both going through the same thing. He looked happy to be with Aquarius, though. I didn't want to drag him down, but I also didn't want him to get his hopes up just to get crushed again. We kept going back to the people that clearly didn't reciprocate our feelings towards them. And if we continue doing what we're doing...
We're going to keep getting hurt.
Libra's POV:
"Uh... are you doing okay, Aqua?"
I watched with underlying concern as she poured goddamn tequila into her instant ramen and proceeded to eat it like nothing changed.
"Libraaa!" Aqua grinned at me with her arms outstretched.
"I haven't seen you in ages! Sit down!"
I smiled and pulled out a chair to sit beside her.
"What're you doing?"
"Observing. I'm a journalist!"
"... interesting. Did you see anything cool?"
"Not really. There's just an extreme amount of hormones in this dorm."
"I'm not surprised. This is what happens when you put a group of attractive people together. Have you seen Too Hot to Handle?"
"Ick. I refuse to talk about reality television."
"How dare you disrespect such art! I'm leaving!"
"Nooooooo!" Aqua wailed while grabbing my arm, "Don't leave me... we never hang out anymore, Libra. I'll watch reality shows if you stay. I like cooking competitions, that's kind of reality TV!"
"Calm down," I spoke reassuringly, "I'm sorry, I won't leave. I was trying to make a dumb joke... are you okay?"
Aqua sniffled and my heart stopped.
Is she actually crying? For real this time?
"I'm just scared." she muttered, resting her forehead on my shoulder.
"I hate being alone. We used to talk all the time, but lately you've been so distant... I don't want to lose anyone. I'm sorry if I did something to make you hate me."
I was extremely frustrated with myself. I was so caught up in my feelings for Aquarius I couldn't appreciate our friendship. We care about each other, but I felt I couldn't bear to see her anymore because she didn't care in the same way I did.
I figured this was the time to admit to her what was going on with me, to help her understand that I'll always be her friend and didn't mean to hurt her. I thought I needed space to move on, but I realized then that the best way to let go was to stop running from my feelings and face them.
"I'm sorry," I began, "I never intended to hurt you. Of course we can talk whenever you want, I'll always be here for you Aqua. I just... I felt like I had to distance myself for a while because I li-"
"Hey! Sorry to interrupt you guys... can I talk to Libra for a second?"
Scorpio's POV
"Scorpiooooooo!" a drunk Pisces cheered before jumping on me and sitting on my lap.
I let out a grunt from the impact.
"Hi."
"Don't 'hi' me," she huffed, wrapping her arms around my neck and nuzzling her head into my chest. "I'm mad at you."
"Why?"
"You kissed Taurus."
"I didn't think you cared."
"I do!"
"Well I'm sorry Pisces. How can I make it up to you?"
She giggled and looked up at me with tired eyes.
"I dunno..."
I chuckled. She's so fucking cute.
"Want me to make you breakfast?"
"No! Well, yes... but that's not what I was thinking."
"Want me to take you out on a date?"
"Maybe..."
"Want me to kiss you?"
"Mayyyybeee!"
"You're gonna have to be more clear, Pisces. Tell me, what would you like?"
Pisces let out a long groan.
"I don't wanna say it! I just want you to show me what I want."
"You're not making any sense, are you feeling okay?"
"No, I'm not feeling okay! I'm so confused!"
"About what?"
"You!" Pisces wailed while staring at the floor, "When I'm around you my heart starts to pound... but I don't wanna wreck anything! There's so many things I wanna do and say and feel, it's just so overwhelming!"
I stared at her, contemplating everything. I'm not exactly a subtle person when it comes to showing how I feel about people, and I didn't take into account that she might not be comfortable with that.
"I'm sorry," I said sincerely, "I think I get it now. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. If you're ever ready to be more than friends, we can take things slow."
Pisces looked up at me, confused.
"Sorry, I zoned out. I was watching that beetle crawling on the floor! See? Look at him goooo! Let's name him Timmy. Runnn, little man!... so, what'd you say? What happened?"
I sighed and stood up, carrying Pisces in my arms.
"Never mind, you should get some sleep."
I carried her to dorm #12, placing her in her bed and tucking her in.
"Goodnight, Pisces."
"Goodnight Scorpio! Sweet dreams! Love you!"
I walked out of her dorm and shut the door.
"HEY! The beetle followed me in here! Timmy, you should go into the Olympics!"
Capricorn's POV:
It was extremely late (I guess I should say early in the morning?) and most people were heading back to their dorms. I lost the buzz I was feeling earlier, and was glad I didn't humiliate myself in front of anybody.
I walked to the kitchen table and found Aquarius resting with her head in her arms, so I gave her a soft nudge to wake her up. She sluggishly looked up at me and stretched before standing up.
"Hi," she mumbled while rubbing her eyes.
I smiled at Aquarius and grabbed her hand before walking out of Sagi's dorm.
"You should get some rest in your own bed."
"But I'm not tired."
I looked back at her with a doubtful expression.
"You were just sleeping."
"Exactly. I am completely reenergized!" she jumped to prove her point.
I sighed, a slight smile creeping onto my face. Aquarius was rather odd, but that was one of the things I really liked about her.
"Can I come to your room?" she asked shyly, shifting her feet. "We could watch Netflix... and eat pizza... unless you're too tired. Then I'll just watch Netflix and eat pizza quietly while you sleep."
"Alright, let's go."
We went into my dorm and Aquarius jumped onto my bed, spreading her arms and legs out like a starfish. She sat back up and grinned at me while I went to the kitchen to grab some food. I walked back into the bedroom carrying a load of different snacks.
"I don't have any pizza, but I know you like lots of these— is that my shirt?"
I found Aquarius sitting in my bed, her t-shirt and jeans on the floor and instead wearing a hoodie of mine that looked a little large on her.
"Uhhh..." she stammered, "I'm drunk. I don't know what I'm doing."
I smirked and threw a bag of marshmallows at her. While she was caught off guard I sat on the bed and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"You look cute."
I grabbed my laptop and opened Netflix while Aquarius was too flustered to do anything.
"So what're we watching?"
Aries' POV:
Everyone had gone back to their respective dorms except for me because Sagittarius and I were still playing multiplayer DS games. I was clearly winning, but Sagi insisted that it was because her console was lagging.
What a sore loser.
Sagi turned off the DS after another loss and crossed her arms.
"I'm bored with video games," she huffed, "let's watch a movie."
"You're not tired yet?" I asked, looking out the window to see the start of a sunrise.
"Sleep is for the weak. What, are you tired?"
"Of course not! I could stay awake for days. I bet you can barely keep your eyes open right now."
"Oh please. I could beat you at staying awake in my sleep!.. wait... um... You get what I mean!"
"Sure," I chuckled, "then let's sit on this super relaxing couch and watch a whole bunch of boring movies. Whoever falls asleep first loses."
Sagi gulped nervously.
"Uh, I changed my mind. The sun's about to come up, let's make some coffee and go outside."
"Wow, you need coffee and fresh air to stay up? I thought you were better than this." I teased.
Sagi sent me a glare, grabbing my arm and leading us out of her dorm.
"You know what? Let's skip the coffee and just sit outside. I don't wanna miss the sunrise!"
We ran down the stairs and out the door, finding a bench facing... east. Because that's where the sun rises. Yup. Knew that right away.
Sagi and I sat in silence, enjoying the beautiful view. I could see the morning mist roll in, and the subtle light peeking over the tree line. The sky was a blend of soft oranges, pinks, and purples. It was like I was looking at a ginormous Bob Ross painting.
(A/N: Don't mind me, just blessing your day with Bob. You're welcome)
Sagi rested her head on my shoulder, and we both stayed quiet. I didn't mind her doing that, and she was probably too tired to notice.
The sun finally began to emerge over the trees.
"Sagi, look!" I spoke as softly as I could, worried if I were too loud the calm atmosphere would disappear.
"This is the only time you can look into the sun without going blind. I feel like a god.... hello?"
Sagi wasn't responding, and I looked at her to find that she was fast asleep.
She's probably been sleeping since she started leaning on me.
I smiled to myself, looking back at the gorgeous landscape and resting my head on Sagi's.
I win.
