☆ Chapter 2: A Very Nice Meeting of Chaos ☆
The next morning Taurus was awakened by a loud pounding on his door.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" he called, ignoring his throbbing head. When he opened the door he found the spiky-haired boy (Cancer, right?) standing there.
Cancer was dressed immaculately in a red vest with small tassels over a peach long-sleeved shirt and flowy pants of the same color, hair artfully tousled and eyes lined in pink sparkles to bring out the light pink highlights in his hair. He crossed his arms, looked over Taurus, dressed in an old T-shirt and rumpled pants with a sleepy expression, and tutted. "Looks like I was right to come here."
"W-what?"
Cancer ignored him and pushed his way in. "I'm going to fix you up!"
There wasn't much that Taurus could do as Cancer started going through his (non-existent) wardrobe. "What?! You don't have any good clothes?!"
Taurus rubbed his head sheepishly. "Well... I grew up on the streets with Libra... and I didn't want her wasting money on me..."
Cancer looked at him with horrified eyes. "That is a crime, my dude. Oh right!" Cancer popped up and outstretched a hand. "I'm Cancer!"
"Taurus," Taurus replied, shaking his hand.
"Now then..." Cancer went out again. "Come with me."
"W-why? Wait! Where are we going exactly...?"
"My apartment," Cancer explained, tugging Taurus out after him. "Where I can find some clothes that will suit you."
While Taurus may have been knowledgable in how to survive and a lot of languages, he was most certainly not educated at all in the fashion department.
Cancer's apartment was very beautiful. Glowing electric stars hung on the walls, casting a soft glow on everything. The walls were light pink. Fuzzy white-pink rugs with sparkles separated the tables, couches, and bed.
"Wow..." Taurus said in amazement. "This place is very beautiful, Mr. Cancer!"
"Thank you," Cancer said, pleased, as he started going through his (very existent) wardrobe. "Now, what should I dress you in?"
Taurus walked up and started shifting too, silently. "Ah- Mr. Cancer, I like this one..."
Cancer looked at the plain black button-down shirt that Taurus pulled out. He frowned. "All right. You're more a 'simple' person, I guess... here are the pants that go with them."
Taurus quickly went to change in the bathroom. When he came out Cancer broke out in a wide smile and applauded. "Oh! That's good! The black outlines your very nice form!"
Taurus looked down at his clothes, slightly uncomfortable after having lived in loose T-shirts and shorts practically his whole life. Needless to say, he wasn't used to wearing nice clothes at all. "Um... Mr. Cancer... are you sure I'm allowed to wear this...?"
"Of course!" Cancer waved his doubts away. "Black isn't really my color anyway, so it's yours. We can go shopping sometime or another tomorrow, today we're all going to meet in the 'meeting room'."
"Meeting room?"
"Oh yeah, every floor has a place where the tenants on that floor can just relax and talk there," Cancer explained. "Aries-she lives in Room 32, right next door-issued it this time, she wants to look at you guys. Now~" Taurus flinched when Cancer started combing his hair into a small ponytail. "Don't worry, I'm just tying your hair back. It'll bring out your eyes more. Remind me to cut your bangs a little sometime. There!" Cancer turned Taurus to face the floor-length mirror. "What do you think?"
Taurus looked at his reflection, smiling. "It's... very nice, Mr. Cancer, thank you very much!"
"This is all I'm good for, honestly," Cancer said dismissively, but with a proud smile. "Now follow me."
"Okay..." Taurus followed him out. When they opened the door to the meeting room Taurus gasped slightly.
The 'meeting room' was actually a large room filled with beanbags, fuzzy rugs, and a table. Throw pillows were scattered here and there.
A girl with long red hair who had been lounging on a beanbag lifted the glass of water she was drinking to them. "Hey! Cancer, my man! Is that one of our new tenants? He's a hottie!"
Taurus flushed, not sure what to make of that statement. "Ah, thank you?"
"Aries, this is Taurus," Cancer introduced them. "Yeah, he's one of the new tenants."
Aries flashed a dazzling smile at him. "Nice to meetcha." she got up and walked over to one of the beanbags and prodded another young man who was wrapped up in a blanket, sleeping in a beanbag. "Hey! Sag! Get up!"
Sagittarius shot out of a sound sleep, eyes still sleepy. "Wha...? Oh, it's the new tenant." Sagittarius extended a tired hand. "I'm Sagittarius, in Room 36, nice to meet... *yawn* ... you..."
Taurus shook his hand. "I'm Taurus." He looked at the other two in slight confusion when Sagittarius fell back and started snoozing again.
Aries sighed heavily. "Sagittarius, as you may have noted, is a heavy sleeper. That's literally all he does, I swear. Sleep, sleep, sleep and-ACK!"
A dart came flying and hit the center of a target taped up on the wall dead on. Taurus looked at Sagittarius, whose hand was still outstretched. "I don't just sleep, just 50% of the time," he corrected.
Aries winced. "Yeah, okay, okay, you can stop scaring the hell out of us whenever you randomly throw darts."
"Hmm." Sagittarius flopped back over and continued sleeping.
The door opened and Libra walked in. Taurus smiled brightly at the sight of her. "Libra! How are you?" she gave him a smile, still half in author-world. "Good..."
She wandered to a beanbag and plopped down. There was a loud yelp from Sagittarius. "HEY! Do you mind?"
Libra looked down. She had accidentally sat on Sagittarius, who was now glaring at her. "Oops. Sorry." She moved to a different beanbag, put on her headphones, opened her notebook, and started writing.
"We're heeere!" The door slammed open and the twins twirled in. "Oh? What's this? New prey?" Gem leaned down to meet Taurus's face. "Nope, it's the same person from yesterday. You look totally different with these clothes on!"
Mini grinned. "Less of a wimp and more like someone we could actually have fun playing with!"
"Ah, thanks...?" Taurus wasn't really sure how he was supposed to answer.
"Yeah, thanks, we definitely don't need you two get excited this early in the morning," Scorpio said, offering Taurus a kind smile as he walked in, wearing a different outfit but still splattered with paint.
Virgo walked in next, rubbing his eyes and trailed by Pisces. "Are we late...? Oh, no, we're not..."
Pisces immediately bounced up to Taurus. "Hi! I'm Pisces, it's nice to meet you!"
He shook her hand. "I'm Taurus..."
Capricorn was the next to whirl in, all color and happiness. "Good MORNING, my friends!" She immediately rushed over to check Taurus's head. "Is your head okay?"
"Yes..."
"Capri, you're going to overwhelm him," Aquarius said, smiling amusedly as he walked in.
"Who's left?" Aries asked, downing her drink.
Cancer rolled his eyes. "Leo, obviously."
As if on cue, Leo burst into the room, all glitter and sparkles and gold. (Warning, lots of gold ahead) Her bright blonde hair was perfectly curled and bounced, dusted with gold glitter. She was wearing a flamboyant gold top and gold fishnet stockings with gold boot heels. Her eyes were lined with gold eyeliner, her eyelids were dusted with gold, and her lips were gold as well. "I'm here!"
"You took forever," Aquarius said, frowning. "And you don't have to dress yourself up just for this."
Leo flipped her curls. "Of course I do, darling." Her yellow eyes focused on Taurus. "Oh, he's cute," she said flippantly, taking a seat.
Mini clapped happily. "Now that everyone is here, I now call this meeting-" she slammed a hand against the wall, denting it. "-To order!!"
"Do you have to do that every time?" Sagittarius asked sleepily, annoyed. (the walls were covered in several dent marks already from past meetings)
Aries clapped for attention. "Attention! Attention! Great, let's sit in a circle now and tell each other one thing about the other."
"What is this, a preschool place?" Leo snarked. Aries glared at her and Leo shut up.
Scorpio raised his hand first. "Um... I guess I'll go first... I'm Scorpio and I like to paint... I'm an artist."
In unison everyone said, "We all know that already."
"My turn! I'm Pisces, and I believe that all animals should be considered on the same level of intelligence as humans!" Pisces said enthusiastically.
Virgo patted her on the back. "You're my best friend for a very good reason, Pi. My name is Virgo, and I like nature. Nature as a whole. Pi here likes animals in particular, I like it all."
"I'm Capricorn!" Capricorn chirped. "And as you probably all know, I love knowledge! If you have any books you don't need, give them to mee!!"
"Girl, you already have, like, an entire freakin' apartment filled with books," Leo pointed out. She flipped her hair slightly before talking. "Anyway, I'm Leo, and I want to become an idol and use that money to help poor people!"
"That's nice," Taurus said, slightly surprised. "I hope I do not offend you, Miss Leo, but you kind of strike me of a rather... self-centered individual."
Leo crossed her arms proudly. "Yep, it's been my dream for a long time, I mean, what else can I do with this natural treasure of a face-Hey! Who the hell just called me a self-centered individual?!"
"Delayed reaction much?" Aries deadpanned. "I'm Aries, and I... burn everything that I try to cook."
"Yeah, you completely destroyed my stove the last time I agreed to let you cook in my kitchen!" Cancer grumbled. "My name is Cancer, and if you don't all show up looking relatively okay then I will drag you into my room and beautify you. I guess I could become a beautifer when I grow up, or a therapist. I'm great at emotions and talks and stuff, come to me if you're stuck in a vicious triangle!" He flashed a grin and wink and a peace sign.
Mini laughed. "Who needs a therapist when you just be apathetic?" She asked.
"We'll go. I'm Gem, and that's my twin sister, Mini," Gem said with a bow.
"My name is Libra..." Libra said vaguely, still daydreaming slightly. Taurus shook her shoulders slightly and she snapped back into reality. "I'm a writer and if you try arguing in front of me, you will all die."
Taurus chuckled nervously. "She doesn't actually mean it... I think. I'm Taurus, it's nice to meet you all! Also, I can cook."
"Sorry about your head again," Aquarius told him. "I'm Aquarius, and do not try to tell me what to do. I enjoy bossing people around much more."
"Oh-kaaaaay... who's left?" Aries asked.
At the exact same time everyone turned to Sagittarius, who was still snoozing.
"Here, let me," Leo said, shifting her voice to a higher register. "Hi, I'm Sagittarius and all I do is sleep and occasionally scare the crap out of people with my darts, bye I'm going to sleep now-EEP!"
Three darts thudded into the wall behind her, inches from her head. Sagittarius's bleary eyes glared at her from under his hoodie. "Don't talk about me behind my back."
Mini lept to her feet. "Oooo, a fight? I'm in!"
Sagittarius yawned. "Nope. Well, whatever. What Leo said was true, bye." He fell back and continued sleeping.
"Well, now that that's over..." Aries rubbed her hands, then tossed out a stack of cards. "Who's up for some Uno?!"
"This is going to be dangerous..." Everyone groaned.
"Why?" Taurus asked, innocently confused as Aries started dealing out the cards.
"The last time we played, this room was almost destroyed," Scorpio told him. "Just watch."
Taurus immediately got what they were talking about. (obviously, Sagittarius didn't play)
In the first round, Libra gave Capricorn a Draw Two Card, who in turn slapped down another draw two, giving a draw four to Virgo, who flinched, already regretting his decision, before setting down the final draw two and passing a draw six to Gem. They had to hold her back from strangling him, but she compensated by creating several cracks in the walls.
In the second round, Cancer smugly turned the color to blue, which Aries had nothing of, and in anger Aries threw a beanbag at the sleeping Sagittarius. Sagittarius in retaliation threw another round of darts which pierced right through the pillow Aries used as a shield. Feathers rained down from the ceiling.
In the third round, Taurus, not knowing it, reversed the game right before Pisces's turn, and she had had an epic Draw Four Wild Card she'd been dying to use on Leo, who was next to her, and Taurus was forced to defend himself when Pisces lunged at him, teeth bared. "I'm sorry!!"
In the fourth round, Mini skipped Aquarius and the two spent exactly ten minutes tossing death threats at each other until Scorpio, who was sensible and wisely decided not to aggravate anybody too much, broke up the fight so the rest of them could continue. (some zodiacs had notebooks out and were taking notes of the threats for possible later use)
In the fifth round, it escalated into a full-blown fight, in which they finally decided to stop before anything happened (namely, before anybody died or had to go to the ER)
"Whew..." Taurus said, leaving the room and feeling slightly traumatized. "It's only been two hours, and all we did was play a card game, yet I feel more tired then I've been..."
From above, some higher being whispered into his ear, You're going to have to get used to it.
-----------------------------------------------
Again, short and not really progressive. I just wanted some domestic fluff (or something).
Should I include powers in this story? So far the votes are going towards yes, and personally I would find that very interesting.
If so, please tell me your sign and what power you would like, I am taking your thoughts in consideration this time! :D Though do not kill me if I decide not to use what you suggested, in my world I focus on as less repetition as possible and uniqueness. (what can I say i'm a patented Ravenclaw)
Thank you! And these chapters may be kind of filler and short until Chapter Four which is when [SPOILER ALERT] the planets come down to 'confront the zodiacs'.
One final thing: tell me if you want a chapter for zodiac appearances. I thought I would leave your imaginations to imagine them this time, but do have some pictures prepared, just in case.
Love you all!
