A Week Later

A/N: The pic is the hospital room. Please read this: the zodiacs are going to suffer from issues that real life people suffer. I am not in any way saying that these disorders are in anyway shameful or a negative side effect that you shouldn't have. These disorders are perfectly normal and the purpose is to give twelve perfect characters some real life issues that you don't see too often in books. If you or someone you know suffers from one of these "side effects" please don't be offended. Again, it's an attempt to show representation and normalize zodiacs who are always perfect in every other story.

Phoenix walked into the hospital room. The hospital had an extra large room meant for six patients. The doctors managed to fit twelve beds in there so the zodiacs could be together. The beds were arranges so that the couples could sleep side by side.

The zodiacs were out of the simulation. When they discovered what side affects the simulation gave them, some were rushed to the hospital. They've been recovering ever since. Some were more affected than others...

"Phoenix!" Gemini squealed and jumped off her bed to hug Phoenix. Pisces (who was right beside Gemini) also jumped up and hugged Phoenix.

Phoenix inspected them. Gemini had black bags under her eyes, but Pisces looked alright, if not exhausted and bored.

"What are your side effects."

Gemini yawned. "Mine weren't big. I was stuck with insomnia. I need medications to fall asleep, but I have it a lot better than others."

Pisces smiled. "I wasn't affected! I had anxiety before all of this so maybe that's why I didn't get any side effects."

Phoenix scanned the room. Everyone else was hidden by the curtains. "What about everyone else?"

"Um..." Gemini nervously looked at the ground. "Cancer and Sagittarius are to your right. Don't freak out."

Phoenix turned her head. Cancer was sleeping and Sagittarius was cuddling her.

Sagittarius opened his eyes. One of his eyes was a glass eye. "Hey Nix! I stole that nickname from Antlia, he visited us earlier. I have a fake eye. See? It looks so realistic. Also I have Pyromania, pretty ironic if you ask me."

Phoenix glanced at Cancer. "What about her?"

Sagittarius wiped a tear from his real eye. "She won't wake up. The doctors said that Moncer is like a second personality caused by some kind of mental disorder. But she hasn't woken up yet and the doctors don't know when she will wake up."

"So you know for sure that she will wake up?"

"Well, the doctors didn't say so because it's obvious! There's no way she'll... she won't... she'll wake up! I know it!"

Phoenix walked to the next row of beds and looked to her right. Aries was reading a book while Leo slept. Aries had a few scars permanently dug into her arms and legs (there weren't any on her face). Her left arm looked like it was burnt. Leo had dark bags under his eyes just like Gemini.

"Oh. Hi Phoenix!" Aries waved.

"What happened to you guys?" asked Phoenix.

"As you can see, i have a few scars and this nice burn mark from my wrist to my elbow. And they told me that I need glasses to see words at a distance, but that's bullshit. I have perfect vision. They called me near sighted. Near sighted my ass!"

Leo chuckled. "Aries, you couldn't read words on a sign that was held five feet away from you."

"But my vision is still perfect!"

"Okay Aries. I suffer from insomnia, like Gemini," said Leo.

"So those are Aries' glasses?" asked Phoenix.

"No they're not. I don't need glasses!" Then Aries took her glasses and pitched them away from her.

"Ow!" Taurus rubbed her head where a flying pair of glasses hit her.

"She's still a cute little stubborn ram," joked Leo.

"And you're still a sleepy lion," joked Aries. Then Leo gently cupped Aries' face and leaned in to kiss her.

"EWWW! I'm going to throw up! BLEHHHHH!"

"Aqua be nice!"

Phoenix turned around to see Taurus and Aquarius. They were both half buried under the covers.

"What happened to you two?" asked Phoenix.

"I-I can't remember. I actually don't remember a lot." Taurus squinted her eyes and tried to remember what happened.

"She suffers from Amnesia. Almost all her memories are gone," explained Aquarius. "But the doctor said there's a nice chance of her recovering all or at worst, most of her memories. Right now all she remembers is her name, who I am and who everyone else is."

"And what about you?" asked Phoenix.

Aquarius ripped the cover off the bed and showed off his metal leg. The simulation took his right leg. "Cool, right?"

"Woah. I wasn't expecting that." Phoenix blinked in surprise.

"Phoenix! Come visit us!" shouted Virgo from the other side of the curtains. Phoenix walked forward and looked to her right. Virgo was cuddling Scorpio while she slept. Virgo wore glasses. Taped to the wall above Scorpio's bed, there was a drawing. In under it there was a caption that said: Now our dream can come true and all out besties will be there!

Phoenix glanced at the drawing and chuckled.  "You need glasses?"

Virgo smiled. "Scorpy tells me that they make me look hot and sexy. As soon as I she saw me wearing them, she grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me in for a passionate kiss. Oh, I'm also allergic to kiwi and fish."

"What about her?" asked Phoenix.

"She has paranoia. She always thinks that there's something wrong or that someone's trying to use her. I have to remind her that everything is fine."

Scorpio woke up. "Why is Phoenix visiting us? Is she here to hurt us?"

Virgo smiled sadly and ran his fingers through her hair. "Relax Scorpy. She helped us escape, remember?"

"Yeah, but maybe she was in on Ophiuhus' plans to kill us and she only pretended to be the good guy."

"No Scorpy. I trust her. She won't hurt you, I promise."

Phoenix decided to check on Capricorn and Libra. Libra's bed was pushed as close to the corner as he could get it and he stared at a wall with a metal arm and muttered something over and over.

Capricorn sprayed her glasses with lens cleaner and cleaned them with a small cloth. "Just leave him alone. He remembers how he killed so many of us and he refuses to talk to anyone out of shame and self-disgust."

"So, you need glasses just like Virgo?" asked Phoenix.

"Who is that? You're pretty blurry right now. Wait, are you Phoenix? I need glasses, and I have this hearing aid. I can't believe we're in this filthy hospital!" Capricorn shuttered. "Everything is so dirty."

"She has O.C.D!" shouted Virgo.

"I do not." Then Capricorn re-sprayed and cleaned her glasses.

Phoenix sighed. "You just cleaned those."

"I know but I need to make sure something so close to my eyes are perfectly germ-free!"

Phoenix turned and walked over to Libra.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."

"Libra?" His head snapped up. He looked at Phoenix with wide eyes and tried to back up but he was already pressed into the corner of the wall.

"I can't believe I killed them. I'm so sorry. I don't deserve to be around them anymore."

"Libra, you were controlled."

"I couldn't help it. I can still feel their blood on my hands. I'm so sorry."

Phoenix felt someone tap her on the shoulder. She turned around to see Gemini and Pisces.

Gemini bit her lip. "There's one more thing. He gets high off of music. I forget what that disorder was called, but whenever he hears music that he likes, it makes him high. Or, it makes him like Virgo when he's excited."

"Hey! I do not act like I'm high!"

Pisces looked at Virgo. "Okay Virgo. We'll go with that."

Gemini sat down on the bed beside Libra. "Hi Libby!"

Libra's eyes widened. "Get away! I didn't mean to kill you!"

"I forgive you Libra. Ophiuchus made you kill me."

"I killed Taurus, you, Virgo and Cappy. I didn't mean it. I didn't want to hurt you guys!"

Pisces took a step towards Libra. "Libra, we understand."

Phoenix looked at the ground. "Guys, we should probably leave him alone. He'll snap out of it soon."

"Wait. What happened to Hydra?" asked Pisces.

Phoenix snapped her eyes shut and tried to stop the tears, but it was no use. "She's dead."

Gemini gasped and fell off of Libra's bed.

"This is all because of me," muttered Libra.

"It has absolutely nothing to do with you," retorted Capricorn. "This is Ophiuchus' and Hydrus' fault."

"Hydrus has really helped out." Phoenix sobbed. "I let him visit Pegasus sometimes and he's been a great uncle to her. I-I can't tell Pegasus what happened to her other mom,
It's too hard."

"Hydra was like a mother to us. She watched over us and helped us out. She believed in us when everyone else thought we were murderous monsters!" Pisces wiped his eyes.

"I don't want to say goodbye to Hydra!" wailed Gemini while hugging Pisces.

Phoenix played with the ring on her finger. "Her funeral is in a few days. You're all welcome to attend."

"But Cancer!" said Pisces.

"Maybe she will be awake by then!" said Gemini hopefully. Phoenix decided to say goodbye to the zodiacs and she left the room.

Standing outside, was Hydrus and Pegasus.

"Mommy? Why are you crying?" asked Pegasus.

"I-its nothing."

"I can't forget about her either. I killed Ophiuchus, for good this time," sighed Hydrus.

"How am I going to move on?" sobbed Phoenix.

"I don't know. Lately I've been trying to get Lyra to talk to me. She keeps saying I'll think about it."

"Where's Momma? Is she sick?" asked Pegasus while looking at Phoenix with wide, worried eyes.

"Can you take care of her for a bit? I need time for myself."

Hydrus smiled sadly. "Of course. Come on Pegasus, let's go get some ice cream."

"ICE CREAM!" Pegasus smiled and took Hydrus's hand as they walked away.

A/N: Do you guys think Lyra will forgive Hydrus?
