i had a dream
i fell in love with a boy who was dying.
i think we all were,
but i didn't care about me
or anyone but him.
i grasped his hand
as we waltzed up a tower.
what was it for?
i don't remember.
it wasn't important.
we got to the summit
as he gasped his last,
collapsing in front of me.
i took a step off the edge,
taking mine too.
