Madeline Hatter and a Fight
About two days later an Aurdon limo pulled up in front of the main castle.
As Ned watched the limo. His fingers were twitching and he couldn't hold them still. He glanced over at Harry who stood beside him trying not to stare at Ned's ears.
Ned and Ziniba didn't need to wear hat's or something around their waists because no one noticed their ears and tail or they didn't care.
Lou stepped out and caught sight of the Rebel Vks. He smiled and started to walk towards them but a slender fingerless gloved hand reached out of the car and caught Lou's leather sleeve. He sighed and rolled his eyes.
As he turned around to help the person out the Rebel Vks walked forward to greet their friend.
The person that stepped out of the car was about the same height as Lou. She wore a rusted red leather waistcoat that's tails went a few inches past her knees in the back and had lace brownish-white frills poring out from the sleeves over the before mentioned dirty white lace gloves and four brightly colored ribbons spilled out of the side right-hand pocket; she had splotchy brown jeans that stopped a few inches above her worn-out brown lace-up ankle boots revealing mismatched striped socks, one had small brown, and rusted red stripes and the other had thick brownish-white and brown stripes; and to finish the look, perched on her frizzy past shoulder length hair was a brown velvet top hat with a dark salmon colored sash tied around it that had a few needles and large pins sticking into it. It wasn't hard to guess her dad.
"Hi, guys!" Lou said when they had reached him.
"Welcome back!" Ziniba purred.
"What was it like being exiled from Auradon?" Harry asked.
Lou smirked. "You already know."
Harry shrugged. "Touche."
"Um, hi," Ned said to the girl standing by Lou, "What's your name?"
She smiled.
"Madeline daughter of the Mad Hatter."
Ned smiled.
"My name is Ned."
There was a pause and then Madeline asked "Son of...?"
"Oh, um," Ned blushed, "Banzai."
"Banzai? Oh! He's that Hyena."
Ziniba stepped in. "Yeah, got a problem with that?"
Madeline took Ziniba in for a moment as if judging the best way to take her down.
"You're the daughter of Scar. Lou has told me a lot about you, Ziniba."
Ziniba shrugged.
"So, Madeline," Genevieve said, stepping forward and secretly charging her hand with magic, "I hope you'll enjoy it here at Aurdon."
Madeline nodded.
"I hope so too. I won't be here long, though, just long enough to keep an eye on Lou and keep him out of trouble."
Lou rolled his eyes.
"She's supposed to be my babysitter."
"I'm an old friend of the family's so they asked me," Madeline continued, completely ignoring Lou's statement. "What's your name?" She asked Genevieve.
Genevieve offered the hand she had charged with magic.
"Genevieve daughter of Mother Gothel."
Madeline reached out to shake Genevieve's hand, not knowing the danger. Right as their hands were about to touch Sinbad suddenly appeared behind Madeline and lightly touched her shoulder. A small snap of energy snapped around Madeline and Genevieve's hands as they met. Both jerked their hands back in shock and pain. The Rebel Vks watched Madeline's face, expecting it to suddenly get drowsy and disoriented but nothing happened.
"S-sorry," Madeline laughed. "I guess my gloves got a bit static-ey on the trip."
"It's... fine," Genevieve said, staring at her hand, wondering what just happened.
"You must be Madeline Hatter," Sinbad said, still lightly touching Madeline's shoulder.
"Yes." She glanced at Sinbad's hand as if wanting him to remove it.
"I'm, um, sorta the welcoming committee right now because everyone has been a bit out of it lately. Well..." Sinbad glanced at the Rebel Vks. "Except these guys. Do you mind if we talk in private for a few minutes?"
"Sure..." Madeline looked like she did mind but didn't want to be rude.
They turned to leave.
"Hi, Sinbad!" Ziniba cocked her head attractively.
He didn't even look at her when he said.
"You're playing a dangerous game, Ziniba."
They all blinked at him in surprise.
After they left Lou turned to Ned and stroked his ears.
"I like these."
Ned good-naturedly twitched his ear away.
"Yeah, me too."
"So what's going on?" Lou asked.
"We've kind of placed a spell on Aurdon," Tony said.
"No one can think things clearly and so we can do whatever we want," Gil added.
"So, why haven't you taken the wand yet?" Lou asked.
"We were waiting for you," Genevieve answered. "You know where the key is."
Lou smiled.
"When do you want to steal it?"
Ziniba's tail flicked around her waist and she smiled.
"Right now."
"What about Sinbad and Madeline? Won't they see us?"
"They have the same spell placed on them," Ned answered.
"They weren't acting like it," Harry observed.
Ziniba shrugged. "Probably just doesn't show."
"Alright, then," Harry said, "What are we waiting for?"
"Follow me!" Lou ran to the section of the castle that served as the museum and the Rebel Vks followed.
They dashed up the steps and through the halls. After a bit, Lou stopped in front of a door that said "EMPLOYEES ONLY" on it. It was locked.
"Stand back," Harry said and raised his foot to kick the door in.
"Wait!" Genevieve and Tony yelled at the same time.
Everyone stopped and stared at them and they looked embarassed but determined as they stepped in front of the door.
"No," Genevieve said.
Ziniba strode forward, her tail flicking wildly about here.
"What do you mean 'no', Genevieve," she said in a low purr that meant danger.
Tony set his jaw resolutely.
"We've been talking about this and we've decided this isn't right."
Silence followed his statement.
"Anyone else feel the same way?" Ziniba asked. There was silence. "Genevieve, Tony, get out of our way."
"No."
Ziniba turned away to look at the others and with her eyes motioned to Tony at Harry and Gil. Harry tilted his head downwards in a slight nod. Suddenly Ziniba whirled around and slammed her fist into Genevieve's face. Genevieve stumbled backward, spitting blood.
Before Tony could react Gil and Harry attacked him and pinned him to the floor.
Ziniba landed another punch on Genevieve's chin and knocked her over and kicked her in the stomach. Genevieve gasped for breath.
Ziniba turned to a stunned Lou and motioned to the door. "Shall we?"
Ned raised his foot and kicked the door in.
"Ziniba, don't do this!" Tony said, struggling with Harry and Gil.
"I've planned this moment all my life, prince boy!" Ziniba yelled at him and kicked him in the mouth and followed Lou and Ned into the room. It had keys and all sorts of trinkets that were being kept back there for the moment.
"Here it is." Lou lifted a key off the hook and handed it to Ziniba.
They walked out and into the hall out the door only to get tackled by Sinbad and Madeline.
Ned swung his fist at Sinbad who blocked it. Lou tried to help but Genevieve grabbed his ankle and yanked him to the floor where they rolled around punching and scratching. Ziniba pushed Madeline off and ran down the hall towards the wand room.
Madeline looked back to see if there was anyone to help her chase but there was no one so she ran after Ziniba with all her might, knowing that if Ziniba got that wand then everything good would end.
