Why are we Maverick Eight?

Maverick: We're independent and free. We live the way we want!!

Eight: We're basically, Nine-minus-one, cuz one of us is always lost: LUCKINA! (You'll understand it in her chapter) and the second reason is, when you turn this eight, it becomes ∞INFINITY∞
