Zayn's Pov:

Maura listen, I don't know how it happened, And I'm sorry I didn't tell you, But I just didn't know what to say, No that's shit. Maura, I'm so sorry, Niall he's missing, No! Nothing I say seems right, No words I use sounds right. Maura, Niall's mother is gonna be here this afternoon, How am I gonna tell her Niall's not here? How am I supposed to tell her that he's missing and I have no idea where he is? She'll blame me, She'll hate me. She has every right to, This, All this, It's my fault. I keep going over words in my head, I shouldn't have to do this. Louis coming with me while the rest of the lads search for Niall. We've had no more success. We suspect a few people are lying, So were getting some friends to follow them around. I wish this wasn't happening, I wish Niall was still here, I'd give anything to take his place. I'm the one who crossed this guy, I'm the one who did him wrong, But Niall's the one paying for it. It should be me who's missing not him. A sigh fell from my lips as my phone began to ring, My mums face flashed across the screen.

"Hello" I said weakly.

"Zayn has there been any news on Niall?" She questioned, I sighed.

"Nothing. We think a few people know more then there letting on, Boys are following them" I informed her, She sighed.

"Zayn, Niall he could be anywhere" My mum exclaimed.

"I don't care, Wherever he is I'll find him" I stated.

"I know you wanna believe that Zayn, But he's been gone for so long and we've heard nothing. I know thinking the best is what everyone wants to do, But you have to prepare yourself for the worst Zayn, I know you want him to come home but h-"

"Don't, Don't say it mum" I warned her. 

"I have to sweetheart, The people you get involved with they aren't nice people Zayn, You of all people know that, Part of you knows he might not come home and that part of you is in denial" She exclaimed.

"I'm not in denial! I've never let him down before mum and I'm not gonna start now!" I spat through gritted teeth, My mum sighed deeply.

"Have you told Maura yet?" She asked trying to change the subject.

"No, I'm picking her up this afternoon, I'll tell her everything then" I said.

"You know it'll destroy her Zayn, And she'll say so many things, Things she won't mean" My mum commented.

"She'll mean every word she speaks, She'll hate me and she'll blame me, She has every right to, You and I both know this wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for me" I stated, Louis entered the room moments later.

"Zayn we gotta go" He said, I nodded my head.

"Mum were going, I'll give you a ring later"

"Ok sweetheart, Saff she's asking about Niall, What do I say?" She asked.

"Tell her he's gone away for a while, I love you mum" I stated.

"I love you too Zayn" My mum replied, I then hung up the phone.

"You sure you wanna do this?" Louis questioned, I looked up at him.

"No" I replied as I shook my head. "No I don't wanna do this, But I don't have a choice" I mumbled before standing up and grabbing my car keys, I then exited the room and Louis followed closely behind me, Maura can't hate me more then I hate myself.

"Zayn, Louis what're you boys doing here?!" Maura asked with a huge warming smile as she exited the train station. 

"We thought we'd pick you up" Louis replied, I couldn't look at her, I couldn't handle the guilt.

"Niall was supposed to do that, He hasn't been answering his phone all week, Honestly he'd lose his head if it wasn't screwed onto his shoulders" Maura commented before giving Louis a hug, She then turned her attention to me. "Zayn darling how are you?" She asked, I smiled weakly.

"I'm ok, How are you?" I asked as she pulled me into a tight hug, I returned it almost instantly. 

"Very good, You two boys need a shave badly" Maura commented, Louis and I both chuckled. "Anyway where's Niall?" She asked, I felt a lump form in my throat. 

"It's freezing out here, Why don't we go back to the house?" Louis suggested, Maura raised her eyebrow but she followed after the both of us. I walked with my head low, The guilt's eating away inside of me. The journey back to my house was awkward and silent, Louis tried making small conversation but the same question kept popping up, Where's Niall? The moment we entered my house I headed straight towards the kitchen, Where all the alcohol was, Maura came marching in after me.

"Zayn what the hell is going on? You've both been acting strange with me" Maura stated.

"You need to sit down Maura" Louis said softly.

"I don't need to do anything, You tell me what's going on and you tell me right now!" She yelled, Louis looked over at me and I nodded my head slowly. "Where's Niall? Where is he?!" She stated.

"We don't know" Louis chocked out, Maura looked at him with shocked eyes. "We don't know where he is. Last week when we went to pick him up for Saff's birthday, We got to his apartment and the door was kicked in, The place was destroyed and Niall wasn't there" Louis explained.

"A week? A whole fucking week! My sons been missing for a week and you don't think to tell me the minute it happens!" Maura screamed.

"Were sorry Maura, We wern't thinking and we didn't know what to do for the best. Were doing everything we can to find him" Louis tried assuring her, Maura scoffed.

"Oh that makes it ok then dosen't it?! Why haven't you called the police? Your stupid gang isin't big enough!" She yelled.

"We can't go to the police" I mumbled.

"Oh you can speak now? How could you? How could you lie to me? I trusted you! I trusted you to look after him!" Maura cried out, Louis tried placing his arm around her but she pushed him away. "Don't touch me!" She spat.

"Maura, You can't hate me more then I hate myself, I'll do whatever it takes to find him, But you have to trust me" I exclaimed.

"Trust you? I did trust you Zayn and look where we are! My sons missing, He might even be dead and you think you can handle the situation better then the police can?! This wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for you! My son could be dead because of you!" She screamed as she shoved my body backwards, I could feel tears filling my eyes.

"You know me Maura! You know I'd never do anything to risk Niall's safety. You know I'd do anything to protect him, If I could take his place I would, I'd do it right now no hesitations. I'd never do anything to hurt him, I couldn't!" I cried out, Tears were falling from my eyelids and I couldn't control them. 

"Maura please were all hurting and we all wanna know where he is, But we can't start fighting, Niall wouldn't want this" Louis said softly, Maura looked at Louis with broken eyes, She then looked at me.

"I know you hate me, I hate myself, I'm so sorry, I'm sorry Maura, But I want him home, Just like you, All I want is Niall home, I'll do anything I can, I'll bring him home even if it means I get killed I'll do it, I'll bring him home" I promised her, Maura looked at me for a moment with broken eyes, They then filled with hate. 

"I wish he'd never met you" My heart broke. "I wish you'd never come into his life" Pieces began to scatter. "Niall's life would've been better if he'd never met you" My heart completely shattered, I couldn't speak, I couldn't look at her, I ran from the room, I ran out the apartment and I didn't look back.
