Thorned Rage-

Silver trembled as Awis was thrown into their cell. Him and Vyle were only covered with sheets, so they were numb, too numb to move.

"Awis?" The older child's eyes fluttered open before he noticed his father and brother. He managed to crawl over to them and pulled them into a hug, sharing his warmth with the duo. Vyle woke up instantly with a gasp.

"Awis-" He cuddled closer to his warmth, needing it more than the older two. Silver smiled as he hugged his sons close. That's when the door was opened again.

"Now then..."

Gold hissed at Silver's yelp from wherever they were. Despite the distance, Gold's ears picked them up like they were next to him.

"Let them go!" Crystal growled.

"Now!"

It was hours later when any noise returned. Gold had only heard soft murmurs and Vyle crying before a loud noise broke the silent noises. The older male jerked at the loud sound before Crystal looked at him.

"What?"

He paused as he waited, hoping for the sound to return. It didn't, but the sound of screams replaced it. Crystal now heard that as it wasn't quiet. Suddenly, something blew up the office that was connected to the cage they were in, sending three flying. One was sent into the vat while the other two grabbed ahold of the grates below. Apparently the cause of their flight didn't like that.

"EMBER! ROAR!"

Flames roared to life before slamming into the two, causing them to join their friend.

"FROST! BUILD!"

The air chilled before a slide of ice covered the vat, which allowed the two adults to safely get down from their spot without getting themselves killed. Crystal stretched her arms while Gold turned to their savior. His eyes lit up.

"Eizium!" The small child ran over and jumped into his arms as Crystal slowly went over. She grinned before settling down on the ground.

"You're not hurt, are you?" She seemed to look down before shaking her head.

"I beat up two gym leaders, but I'm not hurt."

"Tell me Whitney was one of them." Gold got kicked by Crystal, but still. Eizium paused before a soft yelp filled the air. Gold flinched before growling. "I'll get my answer later. Imma burn a base down." Eizium scoffed.

"Not before me." She bolted with Gold at her side, leaving Crystal to groan before following.

"Your child, Gold!"

~

Vyle was the first one they found, shivering in the sheet, in a cell near the stairs. Eizium heard him give a weak sound as they went to pass him, which made her screech to a halt.

"Vyle!" The other two halted as well before going over as she allowed him to cuddle against her hand. Gold broke the door before grabbing the smaller boy.

"Shh... we got you..." He trembled before Crystal took him. She rubbed his back while the other two continued to look around.

Awis held the ground in the small lab, allowing his father to rest behind him as he kept the scientists back. He had regained his strength and was back with a vengeance. Silver shuddered before a shout grabbed Awis's attention.

"Leave them alone!" Flames roared to life and slammed into the scientists. Eizium and Gold ran in, going over to the two males as Awis relaxed. The two children hugged while Gold checked Silver, who was weakly waking up.

"Gold..." The older man helped him to his feet while Eizium went to the door and sent out a pokemon.

"Shuckle! Stone Edge!"

The small pokemon let out a cry before taking down a group of scientists, opening them to get back to Crystal and Vyle, who was holding the line by the stairs. Vyle was asleep while Crystal's ice had many captured by their feet. The group started escaping as Eizium burned most of the guards. Awis gulped.

"Oh, so Clair was just target practice?!" Eizium paused as the others looked at him.

"No, I got practice before her. She was just... a minor obstacle."

Watching the older boy's face go pale was wonderful. She then dodge a guard's sword, which led to a locked-in combat as the sword was swung again. Eizium studied the opponent as she charged her frost. They weren't any older than Awis and had no pokemon out. Then she casted.

"FROST! TRAP!"

The person jumped out of the way, leaving the other guards to get grabbed. They landed and charged before Eizium casted again.

"EMBER! ROAR!"

She thought she hit head on until the flames vanished. The guard was up in the rafters, grabbing their breath before vanishing. Eizium paused before turning to the remaining guards, who were either trapped by ice or running away. Good enough.
