Chp 8

Before the screen lights back up, several people shifted seats. Jeremy, Matt, and Tyler moved closer to the Toretto crew which pushed Elena towards Katherine. The Mikaelosons' spread their seats out as far as they could to put some distance between them and the doppelgangers. Kol wanted to sit closer to Queenie, Bonnie seemed to have the same idea. They now sat right behind the Shaw witches.

Vince got up and took an empty seat in the back near Katherine. He could feel the distrust his old crew has for him, making him want to shrink further into his seat. Niklaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Caroline stayed where they were in the middle of the cinema.

The scene opens to Brian skidding to a stop in front of the Toretto household, blocking the driveway so Dom can't escape. Dom is seen coming out of his house with a double barrel shotgun heading for the Charger that is normally in the garage.

Brian gets out of his car and aims his police issued handgun at Dom, "Put down the gun, Dom." Dom doesn't even look at Brian as he sets the shotgun inside the car after opening the driver side door. Brian orders Dom, "Don't make me do this. Don't make me call the cops!"

Dom slams the door shut, "You are the cops!" Dom gets closer to Brian, "I got to find Jesse before they do. I'm all the kid's got." Brian raises his weapon higher, "I'll call in an APB. Have him picked up." Dom shakes his head, "They won't find him in time." Dom turns to get back into his Charger, "Move your car, Brian!" Amelia walks out of the house and to her car parked on the street, she was going to help Dom search for Jesse. Mia follows Amelia outside to stop them from taking off.

The cinema could feel the suspense. Stefan voiced what everyone was thinking, "Something really bad is going to happen, isn't it?" Everyone looked at him then back to the screen.

As Amelia was getting into her car, she spotted Jesse driving up to the house, "Oh, thank god." She shut her door and moved to stand on the sidewalk next to Jesse's car. The scared hacker got out and started profusely apologizing to Dom for taking off, "Dom, I am so sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. I panicked. I don't know what to do. I'm scared, Dom."

As Jesse was apologizing, Dom and Brian's attention veered toward the sound of fast approaching dirt bikes. Tran, Lance, and one other guy armed with suppressed submachine guns. Brian and Dom move to take cover as Tran, Lance, and the other guy open fire in a drive-by shooting.

They narrowly miss Dom, Brian, and Mia but Jesse and Amelia were hit. Amelia had grabbed Jesse by his shirt and threw him and herself to the ground with her on top of Jesse, but she was not fast enough. Jesse's abdomen was hit on his right side, the wound was not fatal. Amelia took two bullets to her back, upper torso, collapsing one of her lungs.

Nobody in the cinema seemed to stop breathing, not moving. Hoping. Hoping Amelia and Jesse were alive. There was a collective breath of relief when Amelia slowly moved off of Jesse. But the relief was short-lived.

Amelia slowly pushed herself to sit up against the short brick wall in front of her house. She could be seen struggling to breathe, coughing up blood. Mia had rushed to Amelia's side as she called for an ambulance. Jesse sat, leaned up against his car, holding a hand to the bleeding wound. Mia was somewhat comforted by the fact Jesse was sitting up, but she could see both their injuries were life-threatening.

Brian fires off a couple of rounds on the two bikers, then jumps in the Supra and races after them while Mia calls for an ambulance. In a fit of rage, Dom gets into the Dodge Charger and pursues Tran and Lance as well.

Damon and Nora were outraged. They watched their daughter get shot and her so-called pseudo-brother took off. Damon's voice was quiet, cold, and angry, "You left her there. You claim to be her family, but you left Amelia bleeding on the sidewalk. For what? Revenge?!" Dom and Brian didn't even bother responding, just hung their heads in shame. Mia quietly spoke, "They had me."

Nora spoke this time, just as angry, "My daughter's life was on the line, and those two left her alone and defenseless. Where were the rest of you?" Nora looked at Leon, Letty, and Vince. Of course, Vince answered without a care in the world, "On our way to the border." He only cares what happens to Mia and Dom, everyone else can die for all he cares. Dom shook his head at Vince, "All that bitterness because both Amelia and Mia turned you down. When we are finished here, you do not contact any of us ever again."

Vince sat back in his seat and huffed. He had finally realized that he lost any and all respect and friendship with the Toretto crew.

Brian stays close behind Tran and Lance until Lance maneuvers himself behind Brian hoping for a kill shot.

Just in time, Dom emerges in the Charger, swinging the rear-right quarter panel around causing Lance to collide and launch off a steep incline on the side of the road, his impact effectively and fatally injuring him. Brian stays in hot pursuit of Tran until they reach an overpass where Brian swings his car around and opens fire on Tran, striking him twice in the left side of the upper torso, causing him to tip over and collide into a curb and crash, killing him.

"So anticlimactic. I would have dragged it out a little more," Klaus smirked. He was not expecting Damon and Stefan to agree with him by nodding their heads. Elijah sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

As Brian checks Tran's body, he sees Dom waiting for him at the top of the hill. Brian yells to someone to call 911 and rushes to his car and chases after Dom where he finds him at a red light. As Brian pulls up, Dom tells Brian that he used to race at the spot during high school and that the railroad crossing ahead of them marks a quarter mile from where they are at the traffic light. When the light turned green, Dom launched off the line, causing the Charger to wheelie for several feet before setting down on the ground. Brian barely managed to keep up with the Charger's raw power; however, after engaging his nitrous he closed the gap between them. The railroad crossing guards descended as a train was on approach, yet the two continued their race—now racing against a train.

Mia smacks Brian upside the head, "Stupid!" Dom laughed at his friend but stopped when Mia glared at him, "You're just as stupid." Roman was thinking about what happened in Miami and shuddered, 'Mia is going to be livid!'

Brian engaged a second shot of nitrous to keep up with the Charger and hopefully beat the train. The race edged closer until the two launched across the railroad tracks, narrowly missing the train. With the race seemingly over, the two breathed a sigh of relief.

The audience also exhaled a sigh of relief.

Dom looked ahead only to see a semi-truck starting to pull out from a side street, causing his Charger to launch off of the front end and barrel roll over Brian's Supra. The Charger crashes on the street in front of Brian and flips multiple times before coming to a rest. Brian slammed the brakes and ran to Dom's side, with Dom informing Brian, "That's not what he had in mind."

Fortunately, the Charger's roll cage had spared him a worse injury. Dom crawled out of the Chargers wreckage, with emergency services and police approaching the scene of the crash.

"This is where I decided that being a cop wasn't what I had in mind for my life," Brian says.

Brian looked at Dom with a sense of understanding and offered up the keys to the Supra acknowledging, "I owe you a 10 second car." Dom nodded and took the Supra keys, departing before the police could reach them, Brian turned to face the oncoming LAPD.

Before the end credits, a bright sun is shining over a bright blue ocean. Dom is shown in Baja, Mexico driving a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, repeating the famous line from earlier in the movie, "I live my life a quarter mile at a time. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free..." Dom then drives into the sunset.

As the credits were coming to an end, Damon sat up straighter, Nora still in his lap, "Wait...What happened to Amelia?" He and everyone else got their answer with a scene after the credits.

Once the credits were done rolling, the screen lit up to show the side of a hospital gurney being wheeled out of a set of sliding double doors. The camera pans overhead to show the person on the gurney. An unconscious Amelia in a hospital gown is shown being wheeled into a waiting ambulance. The hospital orderly maneuvering the gurney is talking to the guy inside, "I want the rest of my money."

There were a couple of guys in EMT uniforms in the back of the ambulance. They locked down the gurney as the camera panned around the ambulance showing the driver wearing normal clothes, a very distinguishable family ring on his left middle finger glistening in the sun.  The Iacona family crest shining brightly. 

One of the guys closes one side of the ambulance while the other speaks to the orderly, "Sure thing." Before the orderly could say anything else, the "EMT" aimed a handgun with a silencer and fired a single shot between the orderly's eyes.

Everyone but Elena and Vince are now frantic. Amelia was taken by the Iacona family.

AN:  Short chapter to finish the first movie.  Only parts of the next movie, 2 Fast 2 Furious, will be screened since this is supposed to follow Amelia. I am following the timeline order of the movies so Fast & Furious will be next. Of course, after Fast Five the story shifts to add the Mystic Falls gang and the Originals.
