Chp 5

After everyone served themselves drinks, they took their seats. The movie was paused on a scene where Leon had just put Amelia in her bed, tucked her in, and left. There were small conversations being held throughout the small theater, nobody really noticed Damon staring at the screen. He couldn't help but feel like Amelia meant something to him. He had a theory but thought it was crazy, 'She can't be mine. Vampires can't procreate.'

Everyone quieted down when the movie resumed.

The screen fades to black before coming back on showing Brian getting roughly handcuffed and thrown in the back of an unmarked police car. Instead of driving to the police station, the car drives to a house in the hills once owned by Elizabeth Taylor. Brian is pulled from the back of the car and the handcuffs are removed. The "arrest" was a ruse just in case he was being watched.

Brian follows the cop into the house where it has been transformed into a temporary base of operations for the FBI/LAPD. He stands next to one of the directors, "Did your guy have to rough me up?" Sergeant Tanner smirked, "Had to make it look realistic. Can't blow your cover before we get what we need." Special Agent Bilkins of the FBI joins the two, "Speaking of? Have you learned anything useful?" Brian shakes his head, "Not yet. I need more time." Bilkins informs Brian, "Well, the directors are getting antsy. They are wanting to move on Toretto now. I need something and soon or I will be forced to arrest Toretto and his crew."

Before anyone can comment on what they just watched the scene changes. Amelia is sitting on her bed with the contents of the trunk spread out in front of her. The jewelry boxes lay open showing several handmade pieces. Each with a note describing what they represent. A very old book which Amelia learns is a witch's grimoire, her family's grimoire.

She is a little overwhelmed by all the things she uncovered. Finding she came from a family of witches and that she is one herself but was never told. Amelia is hurt by the fact her mother never told her of their lineage. She had to learn it from the contents of this trunk that her mother had buried under five inches of concrete.

Queenie leans forward trying to see the pieces of jewelry and grimoire. She sighs, shaking her head and whispers to her sons, "Amelia is alone. She is not going to learn properly. We should have looked harder for Nora." Deckard states, "We tried. She didn't want to be found. She even ran from her husband, making him think she died." "Wish we knew what she was running from?" Owen whispers to them. All the while the vampires are listening in. One in particular is asking himself the same thing, 'What or who was she running from?'

Paying attention to Amelia, she is holding part of the stack of letters while the rest are sitting in her lap. She is debating on opening one to see what it says and maybe decide if she should mail them to the man they are addressed to. Curiosity getting the better of her, Amelia opens the oldest letter.

Amelia's voiceover is heard as she reads the letter...

My Love,

I don't even know where to start. Do I start with an apology for disappearing? Which I feel would go unheard due to how I left you. Do I start with an explanation on why I left? Something you may deny and possibly anger you. Or do I start with what transpired before I left to cause my reason to panic?

I feel it would be best if I answer with the whole truth. Something I hid from you from the beginning.

You see, I was on the run when I met you. I was and am running from some really dangerous people.

Damon looks behind him to the Originals, thinking that's who she was running from. Elijah, Finn, Kol, and Rebekah shook their heads. Klaus narrowed his eyes, "If I was the one, she would have been well taken care of. Shaw family witches are allies to vampires and werewolves alike. So, get your eyes off me before I gouge them out."

These people have been chasing the Shaw family for years. Wanting to use us for our magic. For greed. My life has been an endless chase from one particular family so they could gain more power amongst their rivals. The Iacona family are one of the most dangerous families in the criminal underworld and I had caught their attention.

Deckard and Owen both cursed under their breath, "Shit."

"Care to share with the rest of us?" Dom asked since he clearly heard the two.

Owen shifted uncomfortably in his seat, Deckard cleared his throat, "The Iacona family has approached us several times throughout the years. Wanting to 'employ' us to have an edge over their competitors in drug and gun smuggling rings. We refused to work with them or any of the other families because we do not believe in what they do. We may be involved in some shady shit, but we do not murder innocent children for the sake of prosperity."

Queenie stated her stance, "That family has no morals when it comes to anyone outside of their organization. Nora had no choice but to keep running. However, she should have come home. We could've handled this better together."

Almost everyone came to a silent agreement, 'Find the Iacona family and avenge Nora.'

Every time we moved during our five years together was because they had gotten closer to finding me. Until they did.

That night when you left, I could feel they were nearby. I wouldn't have enough time to wait for you so we could run. All I felt is the guilt for not telling you the truth. If you had known, things could have gone differently. We wouldn't have to move so much; I wouldn't have to run. I wouldn't have to leave you.

You were gone for maybe ten minutes when they knocked on the door. I knew who it was right away, but I also knew if I didn't open the door, they would have barged in. I planned on opening the door and refusing their offer once again, but they had other plans. Once the door was open, they pushed their way in and overpowered me. I had no choice but to use really dark spells to escape.

During the altercation I was shot twice. The wounds were not fatal but were bleeding profusely. By the time I got the upper hand, only I was left inside the house. However, I knew there would be others, so I left.

I am so, so sorry I left you, my love. I didn't want to but if I had stayed you would have been in danger. It wouldn't have mattered that you were a vampire, you would have been killed.

Amelia re-read the last part over and over again. She didn't want to believe her mother was married to a vampire. It was too fantastical. But then again, some things she saw her mother do should not be real either. Amelia had walked in on her mother performing spells before, but she brushed it off thinking her mother was superstitious. Amelia continued reading.

There's something else. Something I know you won't believe. When I left you, I didn't leave alone. It wasn't until I reached LA a few weeks later that I realized I was pregnant.

Damon didn't want to believe it, but he knew deep down Nora wouldn't have slept with anyone else while they were together. He shook his head in disbelief, "It's not possible. Vampires can't procreate." Bonnie stood up and kneels next to his seat, "Damon. She's a Shaw witch. They're not bound by the same rules we are, that I am. Grams even told me the Shaw family is known for defying the rules. This may have been one of them." Bonnie shrugs her shoulders and goes back to her seat.

In the few weeks after I left, I only had one goal in mind...To hide. I had no time to be with anyone else, not that I wanted to. Damon, you are the only one I ever wanted to be with, even now months later. I'm not even sure I will send this letter in fear that the Iacona family is watching you. I can only hope you can forgive me.

I love you, for all eternity,

Nora

Amelia held the letter in a vice grip, thinking if she let go it would vanish and everything she read would be a figment of her imagination. But there it is, in black, smeared ink, in her mother's handwriting. Amelia was never told her father's name, only bits and pieces of stories about when Nora was with him. Amelia knew her mother loved her father until the day she died. Nora never dated anyone since.

There was a knock on Amelia's door before it opened to reveal Mia, "Hey, you coming into work today? It seems the whole crew is going to be there all day." Mia took a closer look at her friend, "Are you okay? You're crying." Amelia wiped the stray tear from her cheek, she didn't even know she was crying, "I was going through this trunk and figured out it's my mom's."

Amelia refolded the letter and put it back in the envelope, she didn't want anyone to know her father may be a vampire. She still doesn't really believe it, but she does know her mother wouldn't lie about something like this. She stacked the letters together and put them back in the trunk with everything else. Once closed, the trunk was shoved under her bed, and she got ready for work. Her mind heavy with the thoughts of the Iacona family and the name of her father, Damon Salvatore.

The screen fades to black for a few moments. Stefan and Caroline took this time to talk to Damon. Caroline leaned her head on his shoulder, "When we leave here, we'll help you look for Amelia." She moved her head off his shoulder and looked around the theater, "I wonder why she's not here now? Why is she missing?" Stefan was going to voice the same thing but was cut off by Jesse.

"To answer your question Caroline, I couldn't find her. You all will find out why later on. No spoilers." Stefan and Caroline grew more concerned for Damon as they watched him become more upset and worried for Amelia. "I agree with Miss Forbes. We'll find Amelia once we leave here," Elijah stood behind Damon's seat.

Elena rolled her eyes. She thought Amelia was being dramatic and a liar. Elena kept thinking if Damon has a daughter, then why isn't she pregnant after how many times she slept with Stefan. She completely disregarded the fact that Nora was a powerful witch. Elena really has lost touch with reality at this point.

Everyone took their seats as the screen came back on. Amelia and Mia had been at work for about an hour before a tow truck started backing up Dominic's shop. Brian gets out of the passenger side of the tow truck. Dom, Vince, and Jesse look over the totaled Toyota Supra on the bed of the tow truck.

"What's this?" Dom asked, pointing at the Supra. Brian smiles, "It's your car." They all laugh, failing to see the potential. Dom asks, "My car?" Jesse remarks, "We need a 10 second car, not 10 minutes car." Brian points to the car, "Pop the hood." They don't believe him, so he repeats himself, "Pop the hood."

The crew observes that most of the parts under the hood are in good shape. Dom tells Brian, "You can use any tool in the shop to get her running. Get her ready for Race Wars, then we'll talk about handing over the keys."

A montage plays showing the crew restoring the Supra and preparing it for Race Wars, a large-scale legal street racing event where Dominic expects Brian to repay the debt from the original race.

AN: I will not follow the whole movie. Debating about saving Jesse at the end. Was it a shock that Han is a vampire? I will explain how it happened next.
