I Think I Might Have Broken Twilight
I was leaning against a cliff face alone on one of Wild's perfect beaches, enjoying the view out over the water and the scent of the salt which I never smelt until this adventure. The sea was just one of those things I would never get used to, but would always love. Just like this journey, with all my ridiculous brothers and my crazed, amnesiac, sleep deprived arsonist protégé. They may all have their flaws, such as Legend's tendency to wake up at 3 am screaming or Wind's addiction to strong alcohol, but I loved them to the depths of my heart. But there was no saving me. My heart and mind were shattered like a mirror, ground into the dirt like a worthless piece of junk. Maybe that's what I was to her, nothing but a weak willed pawn she could shunt and play with. The immense pressure on my mind, stress, anxiety, heartbreak and self-doubt, would soon corrupt me entirely and I would go insane. I was trying so hard to keep it together for the others' sake but I couldn't go on much longer without venting my emotions some way. I decided to go wandering around for a while, along the coast, until out of the corner of my eye I spotted a strange looking collection of collapsed pillars and mossy bricks with one of those Sheikah shrines in it. Since I was feeling curious, I decided it wouldn't do any harm to investigate. Boy was I wrong.

I turned the corner and made for the ruins, and just as I reached it I realised. I saw it. Broken, but there. It was the smashed Mirror of Twilight. "T-the mirror..." I whimpered, trying to hide. I was edging back when it happened. The remains of the relic began to glow eerily, and little black squares materialised in front of me. They formed a little figure with a tiny body, large head and wide hips. It was... her. I suddenly didn't want to see her. I'm not proud of what I did. I turned tail and ran from the still-forming Midna. I didn't even look back. I sprinted all the way back to camp, and instantly collapsed to my knees in front of Time. "Pup?" He looked slightly confused. "We need to move. Right. Now." I snarled, trying so hard not to hyperventilate. He looked at me concernedly. "Twi are you okay?" I bared my sharp teeth. "Do I look okay to you?" He glanced around us, looking for the source of my panic. He was the only one in camp, beside Four and Sky who were asleep in each other's arms.

"Twi, everything is fine! Pup there's nothing here to hurt us. Wild said so himself." A sudden movement made Time's eye jump to a scraggly bush. A little imp with a massive stone helmet hovered out of the bush. "Ooh, someone's feeling angry! Don't fear, little Midna can help!" My face contorted into a blank mask of pure panic. "No! Don't! I hate you! Hate you! It is all your fault I'm broken!" Midna flinched violently, eyes flying wide. I thrashed out of Time's grip and stumbled a few steps before releasing a yowling scream and collapsing forwards. Time gasped and tried to rush to my side, but a small arm from Midna barred his path. "You should wait if you value your sanity. I don't recommend being around him while he's like this." The Hero of Time growled softly under his breath, but stayed put. I had started bucking and writhing on the ground, before I was pulled up by an invisible force. I howled, and from the feet up I began to transform. Black fur coated me as more ripped up my body and finally even my head was absorbed, the cracking of bones and stretching of skin and sinews being the only sound in on the shores. "He's Wolfie!?!" Time shouted, poking a gauntleted hand at Midna. "Why did nobody tell me this?"

I, now in the body of Wolfie, bared my fangs and lunged, eyes wild in hatred and shock. Midna knew full well that if she didn't do something right now I was going to injure someone. Just the right time for the rest of the Chain to come sprinting around the corner. Wild immediately knew something was up with me, and drew a battered sword, before seeing Midna. He gestured randomly to the imp a couple of times, before grabbing a helmet identical to Midna's out of his slate. I now saw two Midnas, and I lunged wildly out of extreme rage. I couldn't even remember why I was attacking her, but I knew I had my reasons. Wild leapt in front of me, and without thinking, I reared and bit at his shoulder, leaving him collapsed on the ground in a pool of red. Red. I saw red. I leapt at Midna, but Time caught me and held me fast. I growled and thrashed in his arms, but he was not budging. I brought a sharp-clawed paw up and swiped at Time's face, causing him to drop me. I immediately sprinted to Midna, only to find her laughing at me. I growled deep in my throat and she smacked me on the nose. "Are you sure you want to be doing that? Snarling and glaring at me? I was planning on helping you, if you were nice." Against my will, I relaxed and let the tip of my tail wag just a little bit. "That's better. You humans are obedient to a fault, aren't you? Oops, but you aren't a human anymore! You're a beast!" And with that, she dropped herself onto my back and began to rub soothing circles in my fur. I looked around at her, an expression of utter humiliation on my wolfish face. "I'm transforming you back. It's no fun when your a wolf, cause wolves can't talk! She positioned her hands in a familiar shape and I felt my bones snapping back into position. As a Hylian once again, I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her small impish body to my chest. She in turn coiled her arms around my neck and held on like a lost child. I breathed in her exotic scent, oblivious to Warriors' incredulous look or the fact that Wild was nowhere to be seen. I'd deal with those problems later, because for now, I just wanted to focus on the fact that she came back. "See?" She whispered in my ear. "I told you I'd see you later.
