CHAPTER 18

IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hello Readers! I received multiple requests to translate the hindi dialogues. The translations have now been added to the comments next to the hindi dialogues in previous chapters. If you click on the little number that comes up next to the line, a bar opens and the translation will be listed there. I didn't want to add the english lines in the actual story because that ruins the flow of the writing and the scenes.

I didn't realize I had so many non hindi speaking readers, so I do apologize. I have translated all the chapters for this story until now and will continue to add the translations for future chapters in the comment section. Now on to the next chapter!

Khushi rushed to the hospital. All Khushi remembered was running out of her office and calling Devyani to stay longer with Ahaana . Khushi even didn't even bother telling Yash what happened. Khushi felt panic the moment she heard Arnav has gotten into an accident. The person on the other end of the line said that Khushi's number was the first number on Arnav's speed dial, and that he was being taken to a hospital nearby.

Khushi half hazardly pulled into the parking lot and rushed inside. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she approached the front desk. "Hello...Arnav Singh Raizada's room please." Khushi asked the receptionist, something in her chest tightening around her heart as she feared the worst. She almost couldn't breathe from the pressure. The receptionist didn't bother looking up at Khushi.

"No one is allowed to meet Mr. Raizada Ma'am. Fans are definitely not allowed." The receptionist said, a little rudely.

Khushi slammed her hand on the counter, making the receptionist jump in her seat and look up at a fuming Khushi. "I am his wife! I want his room number now!" Khushi demanded, her eyes flaring with temper at the audacity of this girl.

The girl's eyes widened seeing Khushi Gupta...Raizada...Khushi Raizada standing in front of her. "I..I'm sorry ma'am." The girl stammered. She furiously typed into her computer and then looked back at a fuming Khushi, "Room #1709". She said. Khushi didn't bother thanking the girl and walked away.

'The nerve of that girl.' Khushi thought, stomping through the halls. "Telling me I can't see my own husband." Khushi muttered under her breath...and then caught herself, her eyes widening at what she just said. 'Her husband...' Since when did Khushi become so possessive over Arnav? Those words just rolled off her tongue...so effortlessly...that Khushi didn't even realize it.

When Khushi entered room #1709, she saw Arnav on the bed and a doctor place a bandage on Arnav's forehead. The hand around Khushi's heart loosened its grip as relief spread through her. He was ok...he was ok.

Arnav was the first to see Khushi. "Khushi?" Arnav asked, causing Khushi to come out of her trance and cautiously enter the room.

The doctor turned and gave Khushi a kind smile. "Not to worry Mrs. Raizada, it's only a slight scratch." The Doctor said. It was then that Khushi notice the blood seeping through the bandage on Arnav's forehead, the only indication that he had an accident.

Khushi frowned as concerned filled her and she took a step towards Arnav. "Aap ne toh humari jaan le li Arnav...yeh kaise hua?" Khushi asked, so concerned at seeing him injured that Khushi didn't realize the words she blurted out. Arnav blinked a little at Khushi's words. It was the first time Khushi openly voiced her concern for Arnav...and it warmed his heart hearing it.

"Nothing...the other driver ran the red light and bumped into my car." He answered as casually as possible since they were not alone in the room. Arnav then stood up to grab his jacket. "I'm sorry you had to come all this way...This really wasn't that serious." Arnav said to Khushi.

The Doctor closed the chart he was studying and turned to Arnav, "You are lucky Mr. Raizada...if that car had hit the driver side then this would have been a very serious accident." He said. He then gave Khushi a kind smile and made his exit.

Those words sent chills down Khushi's spine as dark fear gripped at her throat. Khushi didn't know what came over her. The moment they were alone, Khushi launched herself at Arnav, wrapping her arms around him and burying her face in his neck. "Whoa" Arnav said, as he took a stepped back to gain his balance and wrapped his arms around Khushi in reflex.

Khushi tightened her grip around Arnav. "Arre Khushi...mein teek hoon yaar" Arnav held Khushi, a little shocked at her behavior. He rubbed his hand over her back in a comforting gesture and swayed from side to side. They remained like that for a moment, Khushi hanging on to him and Arnav rocking her. He pulled her away from him and cupped her face. Khushi's expression only reflected the fear she felt. When Khushi got the call, no details were given, and she feared that she might have lost Arnav. That thought rocked Khushi's core...she didn't realize what it might be like to actually lose Arnav. What would she do if he was no longer around?

"Khushi...mein teekh hoon." Arnav said more firmly this time. When Khushi looked into Arnav's warm hazel eyes...she felt the fear settle. He held her gaze and kept her steady. Khushi wrapped her fingers around Arnav's wrist and sighed a breath of relief. She then nodded her head, letting Arnav know that she was ok. Arnav gave her a warm smile and let her go.

"Ghar chale?" Arnav said, and Khushi simply nodded in agreement.

*The next day*

"Famous Bollywood actor Arnav Singh Raizada got into an accident yesterday...but we have received news that he is now discharged and safely home." The reporter spoke as she looked into the camera.

Arnav flipped the channel to see what else was on TV. All the media portals were buzzing about his accident and he has been receiving get well soon flowers from the industry and fans. It was pretty sweet...to see so many people send their well wishes. Seeing nothing worth watching, Arnav turned off the TV and leaned back on his bed headboard. He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the throbbing headache. The bruise on his forehead still stung and the doctor said the headaches are normal and should only last a day or two.

Someone knocked on the bedroom door and Arnav called out, letting the person know to enter. Arnav opened his eyes to see Khushi walk in with Ahaana and Arnav's face instantly lit up.

"She woke up and wanted her papa." Khushi smiled and sat on the bed next to Arnav. Ahaana instantly crawled out of Khushi's arms and over to Arnav. Arnav picked up Ahaana and placed her on his chest, dropping a quick kiss on her head.

"How is my baby girl doing?" Arnav said looking at Ahaana and giving her another kiss. Ahaana reached up with her small hands and placed them on Arnav's cheek. She giggled when his stubble tickled her.

Khushi watched them and a soft smile adorned her face. She took the day off from work to stay home with Arnav and Ahaana. The stubborn side of her wanted to stay away...to not get involved...to not care. She even got dressed for work today and made her way to the main door. But Khushi couldn't get herself to leave the house. In all honesty...she wanted to stay...with him. The fear she felt when she heard about his accident was real...so real. At that point she forgot everything and just ran to him. She didn't bother to even give Yash an explanation...she simply ran.

She had a lot to think about when it came to Yash. When Yash told her that he wanted her by his side while he toured...she didn't know why she didn't like that idea. What was it about that really? Yash has always been so supportive of her. Even now, he has shown patience and there was no doubt that he loved her. So then why...why did it bother her when he said that? Khushi couldn't pinpoint the reason but it left her feeling uneasy. And she didn't have time to think about him since the news of Arnav's accident. Her whole mind was consumed by the thought of actually loosing Arnav. Why did it scare her so much? She lived her life peacefully before Arnav was a part of it. Then why did she feel like her world was crashing around her when she thought there was a chance Arnav would no longer be there?

Arnav reached for the gauze on his head and pulled at it absent mindedly as he played with Ahaana. That caused Khushi to come out of her thoughts. Khushi noticed the gauze on Arnav's forehead slightly tinted red because of the blood seeping through. She got a closer look at Arnav and noticed his eyes were squinting a little, indicating that he was battling a headache. The injury was clearly bothering him. She got up and walked to his bathroom, getting the first aid kit.

"Let me change the gauze since I am here." Khushi said and stood next to Arnav. Arnav sat up straight and placed Ahaana next to him. Khushi leaned over and untied the gauze around Arnav's forehead. She worked efficiently and put some anti bacterial ointment over the bruise. Arnav close his eyes and felt his throbbing headache cease. The bruise that was burning earlier felt better with the new gauze in place. Khushi wrapped the gauze around Arnav's head and secured it.

When she stepped back, she saw Arnav open his eyes, and they were clear. Khushi closed the first aid box and sat down in her previous spot on the bed. Arnav kept his gaze on Khushi, his eyes soft. Khushi felt something shift inside her again with the way Arnav was gazing at her. She didn't know what Arnav was thinking in that moment...and she wasn't sure if she wanted to know.

~Tere bina mera laage na jiyaa...~

Khushi saw a part of the gauze fold over the bruise and she lifted her hand without thinking and began to fix it. Arnav took a sharp intake of breath as Khushi's delicate fingers grazed his face.

~Tere liye hi dhadke jiyaa...~

"Ab bhi dard ho raha hai?" Khushi asked.

Arnav simply lifted his hand and curled his fingers around Khushi's wrist. The touch sent shock waves up both their arms. Arnav gazed at Khushi intensely, his eyes speaking volumes.

"Ab dard nahin hota." Arnav simply replied, and those words stopped Khushi's breath.

~Mere dil ko tere dil ki zaroorat hai...~

Was he only referring to the bruise on his forehead? Then why did it feel like Arnav's words were referring to something totally different? Khushi didn't know how to respond. The air stilled around them and it became quiet. Arnav's eyes lowered to Khushi's lips and she knew what he was thinking. When Arnav gave her hand a little tug, she didn't resist.

~Mere dil ko tere dil ki zaroorat hai...~

The doorbell at the main door interrupted their moment. Khushi jumped up quickly from the bed. "Let me go see who that is." She said and rushed out of the bedroom, not looking back.

Heartbeat racing, Khushi rushed down the stairs and opened the main entrance to see an attractive elder couple standing at the doorway.

"Hello beta." The older gentleman in an expensive suit said. The lady in the stunning sari gave a warm smile as well.

"Kaun hai Khushi?" Arnav said as he descended the stairs holding Ahaana. Arnav looked passed Khushi and saw the guests at the door.

"Mom? Dad?" Arnav said, seeing his parents standing at the doorway.
