Zane's POV

Pretty much everyone had squeezed into the hospital room to see the new baby, whom we had named Laurali. When Aphmau had suggested the name, I was kind of surprised. I mean, Laurali sounds a lot like Laurence, and I'm pretty sure Laurence wasn't very happy about this child being born. He was standing in a corner and sulking, looking like someone who had just lost something to someone they hated. Which kind of made sense, considering he had lost Aphmau to me. I guess..

"Hey, Zane! Come over here!" I heard Vylad calling me over to the bedside, where everyone else, except for Laurence, was admiring the baby. "What do you want?" I said, still angry at him after the whole "I'm an uncle" thing.

"Well, I was just wondering if....you'd let me....hold the little guy?" Vylad asked, looking kind of nervous, probably since I'd been glaring at him for the past five minutes. "Why didn't you ask- oh." I said, seeing that Aphmau had collapsed on the bed, and was sleeping in that cute way she does when she's really tired.....NOT LKE I'VE EVERY SEEN HER LIKE THAT OR ANYTHING!!!!

"Umm, Zane? Are you okay?" Vylad asked, breaking my train of thought. 

"Huh? Oh, uh, yeah. Sure! You can hold him, I guess." (A/N Its official, I can't spell. I just spelled hold, hikd.)

Vylad picked up Laurali carefully, making him wake up and start crying. "Dang it!" Vylad said, and looked over at me. "Here, you calm him down."

"M-Me?" I stuttered. "I-I can't help him, and I'll probably drop him anyways!"

"Its easy." Katelyn said, taking the baby from Vylad and holding him carefully. "All you have to do is hold them up, close to you're body, and make sure to support their head." 

She gave him to me, and I held it the way she said. I looked down at it, and I felt something stir in my chest? What is this feeling?(A/N So sudden and new? Say #Wicked in the comments if you get this reference) 

 Was I sick? Wait, this feels like something Aphmau explained to me...what was it? Hmmm...it started with a C....hmmm....oh yeah! Compassion! I was feeling compassion!

I looked down at Laurali and smiled. "Hello, Laurali. Don't worry that was just Uncle Vylad, Daddy will make sure you're safe. Just go back to sleep." Laurali stopped crying and looked at me with his big eyes, as if to say, "I trust you" and went back to sleep.

I looked up to see everyone in the room looking at me like I had just preformed a miracle. "Aww, Zane I didn't know you could be so nice!" I heard Aph say in a baby voice. "Well.. don't go telling everyone about it!" I answered, smiling, causing her to smile back.

A/N

Okay, sorry I haven't updated in a while, but I was forced to go camping, so how could I? Also, I forgot to say in the last chapter, the name Laurali Alex Ro'meave was completely made up, and anything that happens with him isn't actually going to happen in Mystreet or any other series(although it would be awesome if it did happen). Also, all the characters in this FF belong to Aphmau, except for a few OCs.
