I made the biggest mistake of my life.

I ran to them and pushed Noah away from my princess. Of course, he let Ashley go and I caught her in my arms. With my hand at the small of her back, she leaned backward pulling me down towards her so that our noses were touching. I saved her from that bastard.

Except that this only happened in my imagination.

What really happened:

I bulldozed myself through the crowd and at the last moment, I saw Ashley's eyes widen as I bumped into them. We all landed on the floor and Noah was gentleman enough to take the fall for Ashley, with me landed on top of Ashley. People began to murmur around us because of the delicious human sandwich we made.

I rolled off of Ashley when Noah said, "As much as I love this position, you two are really killing my dick". Ashley just giggled and rolled her eyes at me.

"What's up?" she asked when I helped her up. Noah basically stood up himself and was scratching the back of his head behind Ashley.

I glared at him.

"Okay, Ash" he starts looking between me and her, "I'm gonna leave you two. You guys seem like you really need to talk things out"

"Yeah, thanks for taking the hint", I grumbled under my breath and Ashley rolled her eyes.

Wait did he just call her Ash??

"You better have a perfectly good reason for ruining my chance with-"

"I like you", I interrupted. There. I said it. I finally told her how I felt. I guess it all played out wrong in my head because something about her face tells me she isn't too happy about my confession. "Ash-", I start.

"Fuck off"

Wait what? I finally tell her how I feel and she tells me to fuck off? Am I doing something wrong here?

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I grab her hand when she turns to walk away from me.

"No. Are you fucking kidding me? You can't keep playing with my feelings that way! Sometimes I think you're being so sweet only for you to tell me that we can't be more than friends and now, because you see me doing fine with another guy, you're acting like a jealous boyfriend! You're not even my boyfriend so keep your jealousy in check!"

She stops talking, completely out of breath. "I'm sorry, Ash. I wish there was a better time to tell you how I felt but I finally realized that I didn't just like seeing you hang out with Noah who's only trying to get into the pants of the girl I can't stop thinking about fucking."

Wrong sentence bro.

"Oh, so that's what this is about! Who gets to fuck the girl first huh?!"

I don't even know what to say when she says this. But I know damn well that it's not true.

And she takes my silence the wrong way.

"Fuck", she sighs, "please just take me home". She walks off the dance floor towards Sarah who is currently sporting saucer eyes and giving me the look of, 'what did you do?' at the same time.

"I think I might have messed up my confession", I quietly say when Ashley steps out of the bar. "No shit. I'm not even going to ask, just go fix it with her".

Ashley is standing beside my car with her back turned to me. I get to her and she flinches again.

Fuck.

I fucking hate that I'm hurting her right now.

"Please just open the door"

I do. She slams the door shut when she enters the car and I walk to the other side. Taking a deep breathe, I go in. "Ashley", I start.

"Please just drive Zack"

"No"

"Fuck this shit, I'm leaving", she says before trying to open the door. I got to it first and locked the car doors. "Ashley, you have to listen to me!"

"To hear you say what huh?! To hear you say how much you hate seeing another man reach out to me? Or is it to hear you say how much you want to fuck me and you can't bear the thought of another guy inside me?! Fuck Zack! Anything would have been better than you lying to my face and playing with my feelings for you by saying that you like me!"

"It's the truth, Ash", I say calmly because I know that me shouting would simply make matters worse. That gets her quiet. I take that as my cue to continue.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but every single fucking thing you said is the truth. It's true that I'm head over heels in like with you. You really do my head in. Behind the scenes all I do is think about you, your lips, your face and damn you ass even", I chuckle at the last part and she smiles, shaking her head.

"Yes, I get jealous when I see any guy who's not me touching you. I hate that I made you feel cheap, I hate myself for that. That moment when I said so, keeps ringing in my fucking head. I want to be the one who makes you scream in bed, on the fucking couch, wherever the hell we are. You're fucking special and call me selfish for wanting you all to myself, well I don't care."

I take a bold step to touch her face and she softens in my hand. She suddenly shakes her head as if conflicted.

"Why'd it take you so damn long?"

Good question.

"Honestly, you might find it crazy, but I did that to protect you"

"I can protect myself, you fool" she chuckles and slaps my shoulder. At least she isn't mad. "I know babe. But, as stupid as this sounds, I'm protecting you from me."

"Okay stop" she says before she starts laughing. I'm sure you're gonna say something about how you're too dangerous for me. Of course you are! You're dangerously sexy! Do you know how many red flags fly in my head when I see you walk around the house shirtless?!"

Seriously?

I raise my eyebrows at her and she stops laughing. Then I eyes widen and I know her wheels are working.

Okay Zack, wait for it.

"It's the car story. You weren't lying. Bad people are actually going to use me as bait to get to you"

"Shhhh", I say holding a finger to her lips. "Babe, that story was fake. But there is someone who doesn't like it when I'm happy and he's trying to take away everything that makes me happy. You're one of those things now and I can only protect you when I know that I can easily reach out to you."

"Did you just call me babe?" her smile widens.

Leave it to Ash to focus on the most important thing about my whole speech of her life being in danger.

"Yes Ash, yes I did"

"Say it again", she demanded, hovering over my gearstick.

"Yes Ash, yes I did", I repeated chuckling when she fully straddled me. "You know that's not what I want to hear, Zackie"

"Babe, don't play with my cock right now and kiss me"

And kiss me she did.

It felt like the first time I had genuinely kissed her. I guess it kinda is. I kissed because I really meant it. I had been fantasizing about her fucking lips and the way she tasted was way better than my fantasies offered. She kissed me back with more fervency and at the same time, she slowly ground her pelvis into me. I didn't want her to stop kissing me, she was the oxygen I needed to breathe.

"Fuck you taste so good", I moaned when she pulled out for air.

"Fuck you feel so damn big", she moaned and I swear her eyes rolled back in lustful pleasure.

"Need to have you", I said as I began to trail kisses down her neck. "But- Fuuuck", I groaned when she ground into me again.

"Need to drive home now", I reasoned and I tried to start the car with her still straddling me. "You know we're gonna crash if I'm still sitting on you right?" she asked, getting off me and sliding back into the passenger seat leaving her legs on mine.

"Drive!" she screamed and I did.

Right when we got the house, I couldn't wait. I needed to have her. I pulled her back unto my laps and kissed her. She wrapped her hands into my hair and she kissed me. Is it safe to say that I felt fireworks? Well I damned well did.

A whole fucking bonfire was burning.

We jumped when we heard a knock on the window, my head bumping against Ashley's. My heart leaped out of my chest when I saw the barrel of a gun resting on the window pointed at my head.
