(Jax is above. Cute right? He also has the forest green bandanna I was wearing in chapter 4 around his neck. I'll add a pic of Kosmo in the next chapter.)

I woke up and for a second I was confused at where I was. I remembered last night and how I was in Fort Z. I heard soft snoring and popped my head out of the pillow pile. I saw 10k still in the bed but Meg wasn't down here. I slowly crawled out of the fort and scrambled up the stairs hurriedly. I slipped out the door and went up to my room to get Nate out so I can change. 

I swung the door open and it knocked loudly against the wall. Nate flew up from the bed and almost fell over the side. I grabbed his ankle and pulled him to the ladder to get down. He slid down the sides of the ladder and landed next to me. "Out." I demanded. He slowly walked to the door and turned around in the door way. 

"Where did ya' go last night?" He asked, leaning against the white frame of the door. 

"Somewhere you weren't." I sassed, putting my hand on my hip and slamming the door with the other. Jax and Kosmo bounded over to me. Jax's golden eyes looked at me in a pleading way. I rolled my eyes and looked at Kosmo. His multicolored eyes did the same. The both whined until I let them out. I whispered to them as they scrambled down the hall. "Bite Nate if you pass him!"

The wolf and dog scrambled down the stairs, nipping at Nate's ankles as they passed him at the bottom. I chuckled and went back into my room. Today was laundry day so I loaded my clothes into the mesh bag and tossed it down the stairs with Addie's. I quickly changed into a black t-shirt and jeans and put on my black converse. I got all the other bags of laundry and threw them down to join the others. Addie came out of the bathroom and switched places with Meg, who had clothes and a towel in hand. "Kayleigh, take a shower tonight." Warren told me from her chair in the living room. 

"Yes, mom." I stuck my tongue out at her and walked out the front door. We were like a big family. Meg was like my sister, with 10k as the boyfriend that practically(in this case does) live with us. Addie was like my cool older sister that would take me anywhere I wanted to go. Red was like that sister I never get along with, always being protective over the youngest, in this case 5k. Warren was like a mother to all of us and Doc was like that cool grandpa who gives you a check of a hundred dollars for your birthday. In my case he gave me a pack of Oreos for my birthday. It was near the winter months and my birthday, Nov. 27th, passed already. I found a calendar close to the beginning and I always kept track of the days. 

Christmas was in five days and I was making gifts for everyone. Even Red. I thought over the gifts again. Warren was getting a new holder for her machete. I found an old black leather couch in this one house and ripped large pieces of the fabric. Doc was getting the large stash of Oxi I found in the house across the street. I made Red a necklace of red and black beads and charms. 5k was getting all the Warrior Cat books and a few more gears for his sling-shot. I was giving Addie a new Z Whacker that I redesigned. It will have longer and skinnier spikes so it's easier to pike the Zs, and I got her a charm bracelet. Meg was the easiest. I found a set of throwing knives and carved Meg+10k into all of them on the handle. 10k was the hardest by far. I didn't know what he liked besides Twinkies. I decided at last to make him a Twinkie cake.

I made it to the house I was hiding the stuff in and got to the kitchen. I stashed about ten boxes of Twinkies in the cabinets. I got a pan and started layering the golden icing filled treats. After one layer I put a layer of icing I found. I repeated the layering until I had one Twinkie left. I decided to just give it to 10k today. I put all the gifts in boxes, besides Addie's which I put in a duffel bag. I put all the boxes with Addie's gift in the bag and swung it over my shoulder. I put on a Santa hat and headed back to the house.
