Hollis POV

We went to a nearby farm and talked to the farmer, Mr. Saru. His Bear ears attracted Nadia and Elisa to be hugging him. He became confused then hugged them back.

"Sir, do you know anything of the monster?" Jayson sighed.

"The mutated animal has been destroying our crops and buildings" Mr. Saru smiled with a tall grass in his mouth.

"Don't worry sir, we are the best team here!" Elisa smiled proudly.

"Please don't tell him that" Nadia and I smiled nervously.

"Why not, aren't we?" Jayson smirked.

"And the cutest" Karma and Julee smiled.

"And the most annoying" Blaire sighed.

Mr. Saru pointed at the top of the Yama Mountain. "It must be there" he said.

"Thanks, sir" Nadia smiled, waving to him as we begun our journey.

Memories of my dad flashed in my mind while I looked at places of the the village. My hands trembled as I wiped my face with them. "Guys....you go ahead" I said struggling to hold in my emotions.

"Sure..." they looked at me worriedly then left me behind.

I sighed combing my hair with my fingers. I heard footsteps behind me then turned around. I saw mom with a basket of food and worry seen on her face. "Hollis....I can't make you fight that mutated animal" mom sighed giving me a pear.

"I need to prove myself at Yōso Academy" I said, folding my arms.

"It's your father" she said in a serious tone.

I froze staring at her and held my chest tightly. "What...?" I said holding her hand.

"I'm sorry, but I can't see you like this" she wiped her tears. "You can just come back home and be with me, I want my baby back" she cried harder.

"Mom....the village sacrificed dad so that I can make the Koneko tribe a better place" I hugged her slowly.

"But...."

"I'll make you proud by being the first Koneko tribe person to be the greatest Water wizard, I promise" I smirked.

She wiped her tears and took out some pastries out of a basket. "Here, it's for your friends" she kissed me on my forehead.

"Thanks, mom" I smiled nervously.

I ran to my teammates and found them half way to the top of Yama Mountain.

"I'm hungry!" Elisa wined.

I sighed, giving her and the others my mom's pastries.

"I'm not taking this lower class food" Jayson glared at me.

"It's the only thing we have now" I glared at him.

"It's really good!" Nadia smiled while her ears moved rapidly.

I stared at her eating some more of it. "Here" she said giving me one. I took a bite of it slowly from her hand.

"Why are you interacting with this guy anyway?" Blaire rolled her eyes.

"He's cute, and he was nice to me on the first day I went to Yōso Academy" Nadia glared at her. "You people are being racist or....speciesist I don't know" she smiled nervously.

Karma smiled knowing that Nadia has been really nice to us.

"Yea, they are our friends" Elisa smiled proudly looking at Karma and I.

"And they are cute anyway" Julee smirked.

Jayson sighed folding his arms, "I have to keep my standards" he said in a serious tone.

We heard a scream of a little girl up the mountain.

"Let's go!" Elisa zapped to the top of the mountain.

"We need to reach there in time" Nadia bit her nails.

"Hold on" I smiled, holding her hand.

I ran very fast carrying her on my back. "Great ability" she said after we reached to the top of the mountain. She smiled weirdly, giving me a thumbs up while her eyes were crossed.

"I got these two!" Karma giggled carrying Jayson and Blaire.

All of us looked at the mutated animal attacking a home. Elisa saved all the family members and placed them somewhere safe. Jayson made iron walls around it and Julee made a bright light to distract it. Nadia smiled proudly as fire surrounded her arms. "I'm ready for this"

"Let's get this over with" Blaire sighed.

"You...are not going to do anything?" I looked at her worriedly.

"Pfft....air isn't needed now" she smiled weirdly. Why?

Nadia was really good surrounding the it with fire. "Hollis go now!" she said.

I ran towards the mutated animal and made a sword out of ice.

"Hollis" I heard dad's voice.

I froze staring at it. The lose sand surrounded me, the monster and my teammates.

"What's wrong?!" Jayson said angrily. "I can't hold this iron wall forever!" he glared at me.

The mutated animal grabbed Nadia and Karma. "Get off us!" Karma controlled rocks at it but it didn't move.

Nadia surrounded herself with fire but the mutated animal still had a grip on her.

"I'm coming!" Elisa ran really fast towards the monster. "Thunderstorm!" lightning bolts surrounded her and then released them at it.

It screamed, releasing Nadia and Karma. I clenched my fists holding my sword tighter. I looked up at the monster then at my teammates.

"Hollis I can't be brought back, you know what to do" dad sighed in front of me. I tried to touch him but my hand went through.
"Stop me from destroying the village, I know you can do it" he smirked.

"Dad....I can't" I spoke softly.

"You can" he said then disappeared.

I sighed looking at my sword then at my teammates now attacking the mutated animal without me.

"Get out of the way!" I said to them.

They nodded and went to safety. I walked slowly towards it and looked in it's eyes.

"I will miss you dad" my eyes shun. I ran towards it and screamed. I sliced off its arms and legs. Tears ran down my cheeks while I stabbed it many times in its heart.

"Hollis...it's over" Karma stopped me and hugged me tightly.

The rest of them stared at me looking at the blood on my sword. I killed my own father.

"They have feelings like you" Nadia sighed looking at Blaire and Jayson.

Elisa and Nadia joined hugging me. "Hollis let it out" Elisa spoke softly.

"That stupid witch tricked my village" I clenched my fists as I cried harder.

"There there" Julee's small hands comforted me.

"I'm.....sorry" Jayson mumbled.

"What?" I wiped my tears.

"I'm sorry, I should of realized your feelings" he sighed.

"Me too" Blaire hugged me slowly. "I won't report you....but you have to prove to your dad his sacrifice was worth it" she smiled softly.

"Yeah" I smiled.

"Let's go back to the academy" Julee sighed.

"We will make Hollis favorite food!" Nadia smiled.

"Fish is fine" I chuckled, wiping my tears.

"Awe!" Elisa exclaimed.

"Elisa!" I glared at her.
