Everyone in the mansion was in the living having a meeting. They were just waiting for Subaru. Two hours have passed and he still hasn't shown up.

"Where the hell is he?!" Ayato asked with a tone of annoyance. 

"He's been gone for a while." Yui was beginning to get worried. 

   They all knew that Subaru was having a hard time being separated from Opal again. They just began they meeting without him. The discussion was about the event with Opal and her family. Reiji decided that they could not see her again, not even talk to her at school. Yui was becoming depress, knowing that she can't talk to her best friend anymore. Just before they could continue, they heard the door being opened. 

"Where is she?!" They all head towards the entrance and saw Opal's family. 

"Where is Opal?! I know you have her!" Miles yells. 

  Shu tried to explain that they haven't seen Opal since the day she got grounded. Furious of not knowing where his niece/adopted daughter is, Miles storms off, followed by his wife. Marcus just stood there and stared at the vampires. 

"You're not human, are you?" Marcus points at Yui. "I saw with my future vision that you have fangs."

   Yui just nods and explains everything to Marcus. She even asks if he saw Opal with his future vision. Marcus saw that Opal and Subaru were at a lake. He explained his vision was blurry, but the brothers might know where. 

As they were all walking to the lake, Marcus was starting to the like the vampires. "You guys are pretty cool. I can see why Opal like the hang out with you, especially Yui." 

"You're not bad yourself Little M." Laito riffles Marcus's hair. 

   They all made it to the lake. They saw Opal being held by Subaru in their sleep. Seeing them sleep gave Marcus an idea. He quietly walk towards the sleeping couple. He sits next them and wakes them. 

"Wake up you lazy butts!" 

   Opal and Subaru shoot up from their slumber. Marcus was laughing at their reaction, followed by the brothers laughs too. After that awkward moment everyone started to relax. Opal punched Marcus in the arm for scaring her and Subaru. Marcus held his arm and apologized. As everything is being calm again, Marcus explained that Miles and June are looking for her. 

"For the last time, I love Subaru and Yui is like a sisters to me." Opal protests. 

"But Opal, mom and dad just don't want to lose you like you lost your parents." 

   Reiji cleared his throat. "Forgive me for interrupting, but maybe it's time to explain what happened to Mako." Opal sighs and begins to tell her story. 

Flashback

    Twelve years ago, Opal was just four years old when she lost her parents. It was just another night. Opal's parents were just tucking in her into bed. After tucking her in, Opal tries to drift off to sleep. As she was getting sleepier, she hears a noise outside her room. Just as any child's curiosity, she went to see what's going on. She makes her way downstairs and see a strange man fighting her dad and another man trying to bite her mom. Opal froze as she was horrified of the scene. She grabs the man by his coat, who was attacking her mother.

   Luna cries for her daughter to run, but she wouldn't listen. The man pushes Opal out of the way. Opal begins to cry. Mako kills his attacker and heads to rescue his wife. He stabs the man with his sword. Luna rushes to her daughter's side and comforts her. Just as everything was at peace, there was another strange man in a black cloak. He held a torch and sets the roof on fire. 

   Everywhere the house is on fire. Luna quickly carries Opal out and waits for her husband. They can Mako's screams. Luna was about to step in the burning house but Opal grabs her shirt. 

"Don't go in there mommy!" Tears start to form from Opal's eyes. 

   Luna kneels down, "Your daddy is in there I can't leave him." She kisses her forehead. "We both love you so much." 

    Luna runs to help her husband. Opal begins to cry more. She hears sirens coming from a fire truck. The fire fighter arrived. Without thinking Opal runs towards her house. But, something horrible happens. The house began to fall apart. A small piece of burning wood fell on Opal's arm. She lets out a cry of pain. 

"Mommy!!! Daddy!!!" 

    One of the fire fighters came to her rescue. He quickly took her to the ambulance and the paramedics began to treat her fire injury. The fire was disappearing. The house was nothing but ruins. The paramedics put Opal on a stretcher and drove to the hospital. 

"Okay sweetie, we're going to take you to the hospital to make sure your okay." The female paramedic said. 

"Did you catch the bad man? Where's my mommy and daddy." Opal asks with a sleepy tone. 

"We didn't fine the bad man. And for your mommy and daddy, I'm sorry sweetie, but they died." 

   Opal begins to cry. The paramedic hugs her and pats her back, calming her down. Opal cries her self to sleep. The ambulance arrives at the hospital. 

   Opal wakes up in one of the rooms in the hospital. She rises and rubs her sleepy eyes. The door opens and reveals a doctor. 

"Oh good, you're awake." He exclaims. "I see you're doing better since last night."  Opal just sits there and listens to him. "...and in just two days you can go home." 

"Who am I going home with?" Opal tilts her head. 

   The doctor looks through his notes. "You're going home with your aunt and uncle." 

   There was a knock on the door. The doctor allows the visitors to enter. Miles, June, and a two year old Marcus entered the room. June hugs her niece. The doctor explains everything to Miles and that she can go home in two days. 

  Two days later Opal arrives from the hospital and was glazing at her new home. Miles was setting everything up in Opal's new room. June was making Opal and Marcus a snack. As they were eating their snack, Opal looks at the fire scars from her arm. 

"Opal, we have something for you." Miles came to the table. 

   He held an object that was wrapped in cloth. He unwraps it and reveals Mako's silver sword.

"This is the only thing that survived in the fire." 

 Opal looks at the sword at amazed. "Can you teach me how to use it, uncle Miles." 

   Miles hugs his niece/adopted daughter. 

'I know in the future that Mako and Luna will be proud of you, Opal.' 

End of flashback 

   Tears stream down from Opal's eyes. Yui hugs her as Opal lets all the tears out. 

"We're sorry that happened to your parents Opal." Shu apologized for him and his brothers. Opal nods. 

"Opal!!! Marcus!!!" 

   Everyone turns their heads and saw Miles and June. 

I'm sorry it took so long. I needed some inspiration and time and I will try not to take a long time making the next chapter. I hope you all enjoy it.
