A,N: Well I am back and have finally made the next chapter. Sorry for the wait you guys. It took a while to make, since I had a hard time starting. Hopefully reading this next chapter is all worth the wait. If it is not too much to ask for, then I would like some feedback on what you think of this chapter. Please comment on what you think. Ember's p.o.v.

It was a beautiful morning, and the sun was shining inside the thin curtains to a prestige room, who clearly showed how wealthy these people were. Ember groaned annoyed around in the bed. The tiny sunlight were annoying her a lot. She wanted to sleep a little more. She turned around on the other side of bed. She could feel the satin covers fit her skin as she did and it reminded her how lucky she was. Being in this bed who was made out for a king. Or in this case a queen. She sighed in content, and turned towards the sleeping form beside her. Her husband's side of the bed.

"Good morning my love" she said in a low voice.

She didn't want to wake him up. She moved closer and snuggled closer and into his arms. She gave him a hug.

"Morning Ember" a voice then said. Ember's eyes frowned.

There were something wrong with that voice. She wondered if Jesse had a frog in his throat or something.

"Jesse?" she questioned and lifted her head from his chest. She looked into his face. Then she froze. Every dreadful horror entered her mind now.

"Jesse? Should I be offended here Ember?" The male then said and chuckled in a cold tone "It has been a long time you brought that losers name up. Remember You married me after all". '

Ember was still having horror filed eyes. How could she not, when her husband were none other than Adrian Gecko!

Time skip.

"Jesse! Jesse! Where are you?!" Ember uttered as she ran through the streets of Domino City.

She was scared. Extremely scared. She just wanted to find Jesse. Although that was easier said than done. People around her were sending her cold looks, and she was sure the man who was cleaning the windows outside his shop, made the bucket he was using trip on purpose, so she fell down hitting the road with her one knee. Ember had not even made a complain about that. She could hear people chuckle in the background because of her stunt. They really disliked her, but for what reason, she didn't know. Ember didn't have much time to think about it. She needed to find Jesse.

Ember looked shocked at the burned down pharmacy. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Jesse's home was.. was gone. Burned down, only leaving a couple of rubbles and pieces of wood. Ember was ten times more worried now. What had happened here? Is Jesse Ok? He wasn't dead right? Please not be dead?!

"Ember!".

"There! Look this is all her fault!" she could hear a crowd say, as she was surrounded by the people "It was only a matter of time when that rich brat left her high mansion. Guess her conscious finally got to her". Ember looked stunned at them. She hadn't done anything here. What were they talking about?

"Let's get her!" the leader of this crowd said and the crowd cheered as they attacked Ember.

"Ember, come on!".

Thump! The attack had stopped, and Ember looked sacredly up. Echo was in front of her and had shielded her from the attacks. Ember looked stunned at her. She had saved her life, and it didn't seem like Echo had gotten badly hurt, considered she had knocked out everyone in the crowd. She had gotten a scratch at her arm though.

"Ember what are you doing?" Echo scolded her in an angry tone "Adrian told you to stay at the mansion, and not leave town. Don't you know how dangerous the streets can be?".

"I am sorry" Ember mumbled in a low voice and took the hand Echo was holding towards her. The bodyguard woman snort a little.

"Well it is a good thing Adrian knew where you would go" she said and sighed "Let's go back. You have a busy schedule, and there is a party in the evening".

Ember nodded slightly. Right now she wanted to go back to the mansion. But she needed answer as well.

"Echo, Echo where is Jesse? Why is the pharmacy burned down? Is Jesse dead?" she asked.

"Why are you asking this stupid question? You should full well know why it is burned down" Echo huffed annoyed "Have you already forgotten the example Adrian set for you, and that loser? He burned down that place, to make sure he couldn't take you away".

"Wait what?" Ember uttered rather stunned "But Jesse is okay right?".

"Well I don't know, and I really don't care Ember dear. If he is, then he know the dangers for returning" Echo snort and send Ember a cold glare "You promised Him you would be His after all". Ember gulped a little. She didn't feel any better.

"But.. you.. you love Adrian. I thought you were on my side" Ember then said in a hopeful tone. Echo's eyes narrowed in a cold matter.

"I do" she then admitted "And you should be grateful being selected to be His Queen. Adrian will be this world's king. It is enough for me, just to see him be that, and be of service to him. Even though I have to live with you being there too. So you dare do any shameful to this family. Do you understand Miss Trussell?".

"Yes!" Ember whispered, but small tears were shown in the corner of her eyes.

"Ember, this isn't real!".

Time skip.

"You look beautiful today" Adrian said and smiled a genius smile, as he swung her around on the dance floor. Ember tried to avoid his gaze however. She was very uncomfortable.

"Thank you" she mused out and quickly added "You too". She didn't want to offend him.

"Really now?" Adrian questioned with a smirk "Even better than Jesse Anderson?". Ember froze a little at that. This sounded like a test of some kind.

"Perhaps.." she admitted out "I haven't seen him in a long time". Adrian chuckled darkly.

"And he wouldn't dare show his face here now would he?!" he then replied and kissed her forehead as the music stopped "You are my wife, and if you are honest with yourself, you know you are happy with me. Isn't that the case Ember?!".

Ember didn't say anything. She wasn't sure what to believe here. She didn't like being here right? Adrian lead them off the dancefloor, and left to get her something to drink. Ember let out a tiny cry. The party continued on like nothing happened around them. People were laughing and having a good time, but for her, it was her worst nightmare. It was her worst fear marrying Adrian and stay in the rich world. A world she hated with all her might. She just wanted to escape.

"Then leave Ember!".

Ember looked stunned around. She was sure she had heard someone talking to her.

"May I have this dance miss Ember?" a voice suddenly said and a cloaked person were holding a hand towards her. Ember had no idea who that was. "Do you want to escape?".

"Ember!" Adrian was standing beside her holding two glass of wine of some kind.

He didn't look happy at all. Tears fell down her cheeks. She had no idea who this was, but their words entered Ember's mind now. Do you want to escape? She had no clue what that meant. If this was leaving the party, or just escaping Adrian by having this one dance, but she didn't really care. She took the strangers hand and got pulled out on the dancefloor.

"Finally Ember, I got through to you" the cloaked being said, and Ember could see how everything around her got filled with light.

Jesse's p.o.v.

Back to the duel at hand.

"Jaden!" Jesse shouted worriedly. If this hit, Jaden wouldn't have many lp's left.

"I'll make you forget it all now" Yusuke said and chuckled darkly "Existence, memories, Everything! But don't worry Jaden, your sister will soon be next. Now let's get going to the true world of darkness!". Luckily Jaden had other plans.

"I activate the trap 'Hero shield". I equip it to my flame wingman" Jaden told him and activated the named face down card. "When a monster is destroyed by battle, this card is destroyed instead". Yusuke hummed at that.

"However, you still take damage" he then told Jaden.

Jesse didn't feel so good when his best friend lost 2100 life points and only had 1300 remaining. Only good thing, Flame wingman was still on the field. He looked worriedly over at his best friend. The attack from Yusuke had set its toll on Jaden. Jesse could hear him groan a little, and he looked beat, and who could blame him. This duel was tough.

"Jaden, are you okay?" Jesse then questioned.

"Yeah, but at this kind of level.." Jaden mused out and activated the second effect from his hero shield.

Since he took 2000 or more damage, he was allowed to draw 2 more cards from his deck. Yusuke's clear vice dragon effect also activates. Since it had just battled, it was changed to def mode when it hit Yusuke's end phase.

"It's def points are zero" Jesse commented. Maybe that was the chance they had been looking for. If they could get rid of clear vice dragon this turn, they might still have a chance. Yusuke however, ended his turn with a facedown.

"It's my turn next, and I will make sure that the damage you dealt to Jaden is returned to you" Jesse now sneered and drew. "You dare hurt my best friend".

"Jesse.." Jaden said and smiled a little smile. Yusuke didn't look pleased.

"What bond. What memories.." He hissed angrily "Those things are like trash! One day you will forget about it! You really treasure such trash.. Forget it! Then keep it, and treasure it! It will be your doom!".

Jesse snort annoyed. I should attack him now, when his dragon is in def mode. Especially since its def points are 0.

"I leave it to you Cobalt eagle. Strike down his clear vice dragon" Jesse then shouted.

"Aye, Aye Jesse. Leave it to me" Cobalt eagle replied and flew up in the air.

He was heading straight for clear vice dragon. However for some reason, when the Eagle made contact with the diamond shell the dragon was surrounded in, it suddenly changed directions. Jesse looked puzzled at it.

"Hey Cobalt eagle? What is wrong pal?" he then asked.

"My body acted on its own" the eagle responded. He was heading towards Jaden.

"Why are you coming towards me and Flame wingman?" Jaden questioned just as confused. They both turned their gaze towards Yusuke who was laughing now.

"It is because of the trap I activated" Yusuke explained and smirked evilly "I activated 'Attribute Gravity. With this card, if two face up attack position monsters who have the same attribute and one of them attacks the opponent, they have to go for that same attribute monster as themselves". Jaden and Jesse looked horrified now.

"What? You can't be serious!" Jesse then uttered.

"I see" Jaden added and snort "From Jesse's point of view, I am also an opponent. And cobalt eagle and flame wingman are both wind attribute monsters".

"He-he, kill each other! Beat your opponent! Your wish is fulfilled" Yusuke said and chuckled evilly once again, when both monsters attacked each other.

Jaden's flame wingman was stronger, so Jesse could only stand there and see his Eagle get destroyed. It became a crystal in his S/T card zone and Jesse lost 700 life points.

"It is not over! Sapphire Pegasus is also a wind Attribute monster" Yusuke told him.

Jesse could only look as his pegasus now also attacked Jaden's flame wingman. He lost his monster, as well as 300 additional life points. He got a new crystal in his S and T card zone. However this Jesse could use to his advantage. Since there were no wind attribute monsters on his field, he could now use spell cards again. He activated the spell "Rare Value". Since there were two or more crystals in his S and T card zone, he could send one crystal to the grave, like Cobalt eagle, to draw two more cards from his deck. Both became face down cards soon after. Then he ended his turn. Yusuke snort annoyed at that.

"Because of the effect from clear world, players with water attributes shall discard a card from their hand at the end phase" he then reminded Jesse.

Jesse snort at that. He knew that already. That had been the reason he had set those cards. He send his Emerald turtle a reassuring smile, before his discarded his last card in his hand.

"Are you alright Jesse?" Jaden asked. He did seem worried.

"Yeah, it's no biggie" he replied.

He hoped just Jaden could do something about this dragon before it was Yusuke's turn. Its effect was dangerous to say the least. Jesse turned his gaze towards the sphere with Ember inside. Ember, don't worry. We will get you out for there. Or to be more specific, Tara will. Trust her and us Ember!

Tara's p.o.v.

Tara dived through the darkness of the sphere. Haou was right behind her. Entering had not been that difficult. However after they had done that, they were met with more darkness than they had anticipated. This was clearly more darkness than the sphere had. Tara had a feeling this had something to do with Nightshroud and his puppet Yusuke. She didn't think Yusuke was doing this by his free will. Either that or he was manipulated in some way. After all, if someone like Atticus loved him, then he couldn't be that bad. At least in Tara's book.

"Careful Tara" Haou said "We are on enemy territory".

"I know. I will just get Ember and return to Jaden and co" Tara said and send him a reassuring smile.

She was not gonna stay in here more than necessary. Problem however was that she didn't know where Ember was. The only thing she could see was this utter darkness. Haou growled a little annoyed, before he placed a ghostly hand at her shoulder. Tara looked puzzled at him.

"Close your eyes, and use my powers". He instructed "You should be able to sense what's amiss here".

Tara nodded surprised. It was not normal something Haou suggested, considered he preferred to use her own powers. How else should she get better after all?! However Tara figured it was because Haou wanted to get this done and over with. As he had mentioned this was enemy territory. Tara did was she was told and closed her eyes. She could feel the rush of her darkness power mixed with Haou's and she knew her eye color had changed from brown to golden now. She scanned this place by feeling everything now. Every scent, every breath, every vibration. Everything that could be seen as strange, and not in the way people thought. Tara was after all looking for things that was unusual strange. Her powers increased for a bit, before Tara opened her eyes, and found her surrounded in a dark aura. As some kind of shield if you wanted. Her powers were protecting her from everything dangerous in here. Her golden eyes meet Haou's.

"I think I got something" she then said "It is really weak, but unlike everything else, it seems to be human". Haou snort at that.

"Let's go!" he replied and surely ignored the words who were about to fall from Tara's lips. But I sensed two people.

She floated through this darkness. Haou followed, and soon they arrived at where they wanted to go. In front of them was Ember floating, but it seemed like she was sleeping. Tara bit her lip a little. This was not good. That meant...

"She is affected" Haou mused "She is reliving her fear. Her weaknesses". Tara snort, but she didn't comment on that experiencing fear, could be a weakness. Sometimes it could show strength too. At least when you conquered them.

"Ember come on!" Tara shouted in her monotone voice and shook her friend "Wake up! You gotta wake up!".

Nothing. Nothing happened. No responds. Nothing. Tara bit her lip. She needed to do something, before she was taken to the true world of darkness. She didn't want to lose Ember, as she lost everyone else.

"Ember!" Tara said firm voice.

She touched her forehead and tried everything to reach her. Ember let out a little groan and moved away. Tara lit up. It was not too late. She could still save her from this fake world of darkness.

"Jesse, Jesse might be death" she could then hear Ember whisper.

"What? No! Ember, it is not real! It is not real" Tara sneered back and shook her some more "They are sending you fake images. Come on fight them Ember!". Ember groaned and tears were shown running down her cheeks.

"I.. I am married to Adrian" she then whispered "He says I am happy with him. But I aren't. I am not happy. I don't wanna be..".

Tara bit her lip. Of course her worst fear would be marrying Adrian. Tara could still remember the heated love triangle with the two males in the events with Yubel and Haou in the other dimension.

"My Yubel was clever. As I expected from her" Haou mused in a tone Tara heard as prideful.

Monotone voice or not. He was proud of Yubel's actions. Tara send him a cold tone. After all the chaos they created, they should feel guilt here!

"Ember come on here. It isn't real! It isn't real" Tara told her friend, as she shook her again "If you don't want to be there Ember, then leave Ember!". Haou snort at that, and send back a cold glare.

"You cannot save her like this Tara" He then said and snort again "Only from within. Then she might hear you".

Tara looked puzzled at her for a sec, but then she remembered. Her training with Haou. She remembered a section he had told her about. How she would be able to enter a host who was possessed by the darkness, although this was no duel, so this might be a bit more difficult.

"Find a medium" Haou instructed. Tara nodded and roamed around in Ember's clothes to look for a specific card.

Hayabusa Knight monster card were soon in her hand, but like everything in here, it was dreaded in darkness. Hayabusa knight were the closest part Tara could find, that was connected to Ember in some way. The only medium who might be powerful enough for her to enter that world Ember was captured in. Tara placed the card at her forehead, and silently wished on the card. She told it, how much she wanted to save Ember, and how important it was for him to free her now. A tiny little light appeared from the card, and Tara could hear this weak voice say "Save my lady", before it disappeared, and Tara could feel herself get pulled inside the dreaded world of darkness Ember was in.

Tara sighed relieved as everything in this dreaded world were going as planned. Tara entered this world pretty easy. She had of course cloaked herself as there was a couple of Trueman, to that party Ember apparently was at. With Adrian, or should Tara call him Mr. T? With her golden eyes, she could easily see through the deception they were playing on Ember. This wasn't real, but Ember didn't know that. Tara quickly moved in the shadows as she saw an open opportunity. Adrian had just left, and Ember were completely alone. She captured this chance.

"May I have this dance Miss Ember?" she asked as Ember looked bewildered at her. She was holding a hand towards her "Do you want to escape?". She could see the hesitation in Ember's eyes now.

"Ember!" Tara could hear the Adrian like clone say.

Mr. T didn't look very pleased. Properly because she was ruining his plans. Tears then fell down Ember's cheeks, and she took Tara's hand. Tara smiled joyously inside. Finally!

"Finally Ember, I got through to you" she told her and let her hoody fall, showing her appearance to Ember, as she pulled her out on the dance floor.

"Tara!" Ember uttered happily. Tara nodded reassuring.

"Now let's escape!" she said firmly, as light appeared around them.

They appeared back from where they had been a little while ago. They were still inside the sphere, but at least Tara was together with Haou, and a now awake Ember. The flame haired girl groaned slightly and shook her head in a wild frenzy. Tara figured it was because she wanted to shake those dreadful experiences out of her head. Tara sighed deeply inside. She was a little guilty here.

"I am sorry, I should have come sooner" she then apologized "Or at least have saved you before Trueman send you away".

Ember looked up at her. Tears were still running down her cheeks, as she without warning, hugged Tara. Tara looked stunned at this display, and of course hugged back.

"I knew you would come" Ember then whispered slowly "I knew it! I never gave up that hope, but.. it got harder, and harder. But I don't blame you Tara. I don't!".

"Remember, our powers protects, but kills hope" Haou explained and Tara nodded.

She remembered the event with Jaden in the mirror room created by Haou. After being there for.. too long, he lost the will to fight. Not that Haou hadn't taken advantage of it, like Trueman did with Ember, but to Tara this was a similar situation.

"Let's go. You been here too much already" Haou said and Tara smiled inside.

Someone was worried. She nodded and got up, while supporting Ember. The flame haired girl refused to let go of Tara's waist, so it had been a tiny bit difficult. In the end they had gone in on a compromise. She could hold Tara's hand, while she promised not to let her go. Haou were about to summon energy to get them out of here, and Tara was about to do the same, when she suddenly stopped up.

"Tara..?" Haou questioned, but Tara interrupted him by turning her head in a completely different direction than the king. Ember and Haou looked at her.

"Can't you hear it?" Tara then asked and looked at them "A voice. They.. Someone is in pain!". Haou's eyes narrowed darkly at that.

"I can't sense anything" The king said and snort "Could be a trap. Don't.. Tara!".

Tara however didn't listen. Whatever reason, whether Haou could hear it or not, someone was in pain. She could remember that she had sensed a second person in here, besides Ember. Maybe this was the one. Without warning, she began running towards it. Ember had surprised followed, since her grip in Tara didn't lessen. Haou followed as well. He couldn't and wouldn't stay away, considered the danger they were in, and Tara were grateful for it. Soon they arrived at the destination who had called to her. Tara looked stunned at the display in front of her. Surrounded in a dark aura, and truly were in pain, was Yusuke Fujiwara floating.

Jaden's p.o.v.

Back to the duel.

Jaden had just drawn. It annoyed him a lot that Yusuke had forced his flame wingman to attack Jesse, so now payback was in order. Since Clear vice dragon was in def mode, Jaden of course used this opportunity to strike. He made flame wingman attack. Sadly Yusuke had other plans.

"I activate my facedown. The card called 'Attribute chameleon" he told them and smirked "With this card I can change the attribute one of my opponents monsters until the end of the turn". Jaden looked rather horrified now.

"What?!" Jaden then uttered rather surprised.

"Don't tell me it is another.." Jesse then added, as Yusuke chuckled darkly here.

"That's right. I will change Flame wingman to a water attribute monster" he then told them and did just that. He changed Flame wingman's attribute, and since he did, Jaden's monster had to attack Jesse's Emerald turtle since it was Water as well.

"Flame wingman!" Jaden uttered and in some way hoped he could change things. He sadly couldn't, and his monster attacked.

"Kill each other!" Yusuke then said and laughed like crazy "In this bottomless hole of pain and suffering, and don't even think you could ever be saved".

Then flame wingman attack hit, and destroyed Jesse's turtle. The only good thing was that it was in defense mode. Yusuke chuckled again.

"Don't forget about Flame wingman's effect" he then said and smirked.

Jaden looked in horror when the super power of Flame wingman hit Jesse, and he lost 600 life points. Jaden closed his eyes. He didn't want to see this. He felt pretty guilty over hitting Jesse just now. He ended his turn with a facedown. The only good thing Flame wingman was once again wind attribute, but Jaden knew that didn't help them much. Besides that his clear vice dragon could go in attack mode again, those attribute cards would give them a hard time when their turn came up again. If it did! With a powerful monster like Yusuke's dragon, a lot of things could happen on his turn.

"You understand now right? Bonds and memories. They are the very reason why we suffer" Yusuke then told them "After all, we will forget them in the end. Wouldn't it be better to forget them all from the start?".

Jaden looked puzzled at Yusuke. As he had finished the sentence, Jaden could sense something from him. Some kind of sadness. That and he avoided eye contact just now. Something was clearly up.

"Yusuke..?" Jaden tried reasoning with him.

If he were thing sad, then he might need someone to talk to or something like that. However before he could say something more, a sense, a feeling went through his body.

"Jaden. Jaden can you hear me?". Jaden turned his attention to Tara who was still motionless at the floor. She hadn't moved an inch, but Jaden knew it was her voice.

"Tara? What's up? Have you found Ember yet? Are you in trouble?" He questioned.

"Well things came up. But I did find and rescue Ember" He could hear Tara reply inside his head. "But we can't leave yet". Jaden's eyes narrowed a little.

"Why? Have they captured you in that sphere?" He asked in a cold tone.

"No, not yet. Haou does point out, this could be a trap, but we found him in here as well" Tara then replied. Jaden was a little confused though.

"Him? What are you talking about?" He asked "I agree with Haou. You gotta get out of here. If it is a trap..".

"Relax Jaden. I promise you we are okay for now. I just can't leave. I found him. I found Yusuke Fujiwara" Tara told him. "I am not even sure how that is possible since you are dueling him, but it is him. And he is acting really strange".

"How strange? Tara, I really don't like this. Come back" Jaden replied in a scared tone. "You know I don't want to lose you..".

"I told you we are fine!" Tara replied in a firm tone "Have some faith in me, okay?! However this Yusuke is.. I am not sure, but he doesn't notice us. He mumbles something about pain and bond. He is surrounded in this dark aura. He is watching the duel however. The one you are having. Ember and I can see it. I don't know what is going on here at all. But once in a while pictures also appears. Memories maybe, but they fade quickly".

Jaden's eyes narrowed again. He didn't like this. There was something weird about this. Why would there be two of them? Or maybe..

"Jaden, remember no one is beyond saving. That is one of the reasons, I can't leave" Tara then said "Can't explain why, but he needs me. I need to figure out why he behaves like this".

"I can explain why" A voice then suddenly said, and honest appeared beside Jaden now. Jaden was a little surprised that the angel had been able to listen to this conversation, but then remembered that Honest was part of his soul now. Just like Yubel was. Honest turned his gaze to Yusuke at the other side of the dueling field. "Master, you really did all this, because of your parent's death. Didn't you?".

"What? Your parent's death? What do you mean?" Jaden uttered rather shocked.

In some way, he knew Tara was listening to this too. Yusuke didn't seem pleased by the question though. Once again he refused to have eye contact with them.

"I forgot about them Ages ago" he then replied "No They forgot me first. To me..!". He never finished the sentence, which clearly told them Honest had been right.

"You wanted to know. Then I will show you what happened. What truly happened to my master" Honest replied and a tiny light emitted from him.

Jaden knew that light. They were about to relieve a flashback. A flashback from Honest memories.

The first thing Jaden saw was this room in a house. A young boy who looked just like Yusuke, but younger, was standing there and staring up at the ceiling with shock in his eyes. As Jaden could make out of this, his parents had just died, and the social services were coming to get them. Yusuke seemed traumatic about it. Jaden instantly felt bad about it, since he and Tara have had a similar situation, when their mom died years back. He could remember the pain from that time, and how confusing everything where in the society now. He remembered the sadness from back then too. It wouldn't be easy, and Jaden couldn't help himself, and were sympathizing with Yusuke here.

"To such a young child, this is such a shock" one of the men said.

"Yeah. After all the people who are closest to him are..".

Jaden decided not to listen to those people, and decided to focus on Yusuke. Like they said, he was in shock over what happened. Then out of the blue, a monster card fell to the ground. Jaden was not sure if it was because Yusuke had dropped it, or because it had appeared here on its own. However out of the card appeared Honest, as duel monster spirit. He place a comforting hand on the boys shoulder. Even though it was transparent, Yusuke felt it, and turned his gaze towards the angel beside him.

"Honest.." he uttered. Jaden was not sure if it was surprise or recognition in his voice.

"I am the card spirit Honest, and I am your protector as well" Honest informed him and kneeled down on one leg so they had eyes contact.

The kid let out a little cry and tears were shown in the corner of his eyes.

"I.. I can't forget!" he then said in a sad tone.

"I will always be by your side" The angel promised and took his hand.

He pulled him a little closer, and placed his wings around him to shield him from everything at the moment.

"Then after that, Master went to Duel academy to study dueling" Honest then said. "But then not long after that..".

Jaden were now in that obelisk room, him and Tara had found in the abandoned dorm, although the room wasn't as abandoned right now. This was the prestige dorm for exceptional duelists. Like Atticus, Zane and Yusuke. Jaden could see the past Yusuke hang up photos of all his friends. Zane and Atticus were on one of them, while there was one special picture of Yusuke and Atticus together. Jaden figured they were together at that time too. Yusuke mentioned all the names of his friends. His hand roamed over the picture with him and Atticus. Then he turned his attentions to the pictures of his parents. Jaden noticed that he had drawn black ink on his parent face, in order to forget them, but he couldn't.

"I can't forget! Just let me forget!" he screamed and covered his face, as he broke down crying.

Jaden noticed Honest appearing in this memory, but there was nothing he could do as spirit for the boy sadly.

Then the picture changed. Yusuke was surrounded by occult books, and was drawing a circle onto the floor with a knife. It looked like some ritual circle here, and Jaden didn't like what he was seeing here. Then suddenly Yusuke had cut himself with the sharp knife, and a drop of blood hit the circle. Darkness power rose around him, intoxicating him with its power. Yusuke didn't want to stop. He didn't stop no matter what Honest tried.

"Master, please!" he uttered. Yusuke rose up on his feet's.

"One day, everyone will forget about me. This way.." he mumbled out.

He walked over to the wall with all the pictures and quickly tossed them into the trash bin. In the end he also placed Honest card into this special box Jaden and Tara had found him in, and closed it. Honest dematerialized himself from the room too.

The memories ended, and Jaden found himself back at duel academy. He was still in the duel with Yusuke, together with Jesse. Jaden couldn't believe what he had been seeing. Was that the reason why Yusuke went to Nightshroud in the first place? Because he wanted to forget? Was that why he erased his own existence in this world? He knew no one had known of him when he started his first year here. Not even Atticus, since his memories first now had shown any recovery. Who would wish that for themselves?!

"Bonds and memories, brothers and family. Even those people would forget about me and abandon me eventually" Yusuke then said and sent them all a cold glare "If that is the case, I'll forget them first. By doing that, I don't suffer anymore. Even if they are trash and nothing more!".

"I won't forget Master! Why did you?" Honest now asked his former partner.

"In darkness, I live, and everything is covered In darkness now, so I don't feel pain anymore" Yusuke replied and chuckled darkly. Jaden's eyes narrowed. There were clearly something wrong here.

"Tara, I see what you mean" Jaden then told his sister through the mind link "I'll see what I can do. I think I have a hunch what is going on here".

"So do I brother. So do I. You know what to do then. Give them some light" He could hear Tara say, then the connection broke.

Not that Jaden minded it much. So I need some light eh? Well both Neos and Rainbow dragon is light monsters, so if we can summon one of them.. that said if we survive this round.

Jaden had just thought that when Yusuke decided to attack. He had already drawn a card, and switched his Clear vice dragon into attack mode. His target was..

"Go attack flame wingman" Yusuke yelled and smirked. His dragon att rose to the double amount of Flame wingman's. That was 4200 att points! Jaden sneered inside. He wouldn't survive this duel if this attack hit.

"I activate my facedown card" Jesse then shouted and did just that.

He revealed the trap called "Cut Jewel". By sending a card with Crystal beast in it's name from his deck to the graveyard, like etc. "C.B. Topaz tiger", he could reduce one opposing monsters att by half. Furthermore the opponent he chose to cut half the monsters attack points on, could draw a card at the end phase of this turn. Jesse surprisingly chose Flame wingman. Jesse reduced Flame wingman att to 1050, and by doing so he also reduced Clear vice dragon att to 2100, since it was always the double att of the monster it was facing. Yusuke's monster attacked and destroyed Flame wingman, but because of Jesse's att, Jaden was still having 250 life points. Jaden of course used the momentum to activate his trap as well. Since one of his monsters were destroyed by battle, he could activate his trap "Hero signal", and summon a elemental hero from his hand or deck. Jaden special summoned "E.H. Sparkman" from his deck to the field in att mode. Yusuke snort in annoyance. Since his dragon had attacked, it had to switch to def mode once again. Jaden and Jesse could take a breather for now.

"Yusuke, My friendship with Jaden isn't just trash" Jesse then commented and sent him a cold glare. Jaden's eyes widened at that speech.

"That's right, the card you just send to the graveyard..".

"Yep, I gathered them all my pal" Jesse said and send him a wink with his left eye.

Then he activated his other facedown card. It was "rainbow gravity" and with this card he could special summon his Rainbow dragon from his deck. After all he had all the crystal beasts either on the field or in his graveyard. Jaden looked in awe as the mighty Rainbow dragon began appearing onto the field. No matter how many times Jaden had seen this dragon summoned, it was still amazing to see it being summoned. The seven jewels sparked around Jesse, before they united into the most beautiful jewel dragon. Even Yusuke was taken aback from that, but he was after all also the one facing it, unlike Jaden. Who wouldn't be slightly scared by facing a dragon with 4000 att points?

"This is.. Rainbow dragon?" Yusuke uttered surprised. Jaden send Jesse a grateful smile. This monster was exactly what they needed just now.

"I am impressed Jesse. In this kind of circumstances, you can still summon your rainbow dragon" Jaden then commented.

"Yeah, but since I summoned my dragon this way, I can't use it's effect on the turn it was summoned" Jesse replied with a smile.

"If that is the case I will summon 'Clear cube' in def mode" Yusuke replied and did just that.

A monster with 0 att and def points appeared onto the field. Since this was his end phase, Jaden could now draw a card from his deck because of the other effect of Jesse's Jewel cut, which Jesse also pointed out. Jaden nodded and were soon holding his hand over his deck, in hope on getting a good card. Light appeared suddenly around the next card as Jaden had drawn 'Honest' monster card.

"Because of clear world effect, since you Jaden Yuki has a light monster on your field, the player must show their hand at the end phase" Yusuke then explained. Jaden's Sparkman was a light attribute monster. Yusuke snort annoyed since Jaden, in his eyes were hesitating. "What's the matter? Quickly now. Show me your hand!".

Jaden did as he was asked, and showed his two spell cards he was having. It was "Fake hero" and "Wrath of Neos".

"And what I drew earlier was Honest" Jaden then said and showed him the angel card "If you really have forgotten, he shouldn't be a problem".

Yusuke hissed annoyed and ended his turn. As Jaden expected, he wasn't pleased at all, which just corrected that hunch he was having. Since his conversation with Tara, and Honest, Jaden had been thinking, and if everything fitted into the pieces he was having, he would soon find out if he was correct or not. All he had to do was wait. It was after all Jesse turn now. He hoped with all his might, that his friend could turn this duel around with his dragon.

Jesse's p.o.v.

Jesse looked carefully through the cards in his hand. It was his turn, and he had to make the turn count. Who knew if he ever would get that chance again, if he didn't. Yusuke had been difficult dealing with after all. He gazed over the field. His Rainbow dragon was the mightiest monster they had out right now. Jaden had Sparkman on the field, and knew he had two spell cards in his hand as well as the duel monster card Honest, since Clear world made Jaden show his cards. That didn't give his friend much to work with on his next turn. Jesse looked over at Yusuke's field now. Right now he has those two pesky continuous trap cards on his field. Even if Jaden and I fight our hardest, the changing attribute traps will only make us hurt each other again. In other words, I can't use Rainbow dragon to attack. If that's the case. I have to use it's effect.

"I activate Rainbow dragon's effect" Jesse now told them "By removing all my crystal beasts in my graveyard from play, all the cards who are currently on all our fields, returns back to the owner's deck". Yusuke looked shocked at him.

"What?! But that means that Rainbow dragon is also gone" He then yelled.

"I know that. However, by doing that, the cards which will force us to destroy each other are also gone" Jesse replied with a smirk.

Jesse had just said that when the whole field got cleared. All Yusuke's monsters, traps, and field spell disappeared into his deck, which means the scenery also changed. They were back at duel academy's main entrance, and found themselves surrounded by Trueman at the sidelines. Sadly Rainbow dragon's effect continued. All cards on both Jesse and Jaden's field disappeared back in their deck too, but that was a small price to pay. At least they weren't gonna hurt each other. All three of them shuffled their decks. Yusuke however, activated an effect from his clear cube, he had summoned earlier. Since it had left the field too, he was allowed to summon another one from his deck onto the field. Jesse didn't pay it much attention since it still had 0 att and def. Jaden's turn was still up, so Jesse ended his turn with a face down.

Jaden was up. He drew and summoned "Honest" from his hand in att mode. (1100 att, 1900 def) Jesse hummed a little inside. It seemed to him that Jaden had summoned that monster to try and make Yusuke remember him. Yusuke didn't seem faced though.

"It won't work Jaden Yuki. I've have totally forgotten about this guy" Yusuke then proclaimed "The trash that have blocked my way to success.. How can I remember it?". Jaden send him a cold look now.

"Yusuke.." he replied in a firm voice.

"That's not true.. Master you haven't forgotten about me" Jesse could now hear Honest say "Even if you had, the facts still remains. I am still your partner..".

"You are right Honest" Jaden then said "And to prove it, Honest attack his clear cube".

The angel monster nodded and flew up in the sky. He attacked with his 'Feather shot' attack, and destroyed the cube. Sadly it was in def mode, so Yusuke didn't take any damage. However Jesse was sure he saw some recognition in his eyes, as Honest attacked him. Since Yusuke's cube had left the field, he could once again summon another one from his deck in defense mode. Jaden couldn't do much after that and ended his turn.

It was Yusuke's turn. He drew and tributed his cube to summon "Clear vicious knight". It was a lv 7 monster with 2300 att and 1100 def, but since his opponent had a monster, Yusuke was allowed to summon this with one sacrifice. Jesse listened very carefully as Yusuke explained his new monsters effect further. If he hadn't any others cards on the field besides his knight, it was then allowed to choose one monster on your opponents field who had the highest att point, and thereby gain those att point to itself. Honest was the only monster out, so Yusuke's knight gained 1100 att points. That gave it an attack total of 3400 att. Jesse hissed angrily. That was enough att points to render one of their life points to 0 for sure. And knowing Yusuke his target..

"Clear Vicious Knight! Attack Honest!" Yusuke shouted and made the monster come out of that crystal it was in.

It charged at Jaden and Honest now. Jesse snort. That was what he thought he would do. He would of course go after one of the prophecies chosen one. However Jesse wouldn't let that happen. He had to go past him first!

"I activate my trap called 'The one to be protected'" Jesse shouted and did just that.

This card could only be activated doing an opponent's battle phase. Jesse could now send a monster with higher att points than the monster attacking, from his deck to the graveyard, and by doing so he could prevent Honest destruction, and render all battle damage this turn to zero. Jesse send his Rainbow dragon from his deck to the grave. Jesse could see Jaden look stunned at him. He had saved both him and Honest.

"Sadly this card also have a price" Jesse then pointed out "I lose life points equal to the monster who was send to the graveyard".

He let out a groan, as he fell down on his knees. He could feel his strength being zapped away by the trap card, until there was nothing left. It hit 0.

"Jesse!" Jaden shouted, as he realized what he had done for him.

"I have finally paid off our debt to the twins Ember" he then said and looked over at Jaden with a little smile "It is not over Jaden. As long as you and Tara are standing at the very end of the duel, it is all gonna be okay. If you two work together, along with all the spirits, you can overcome him. So don't give up, Jaden, Honest..".

"That is utter nonsense!" Yusuke then said and chuckled evilly. He was looking at Jesse now. "There is no meaning in friendship. You lost because of a bunch of insignificant memories. Yes, you have already lost to Jaden. You really are trash. I end my turn".

As Yusuke said that, Jesse could feel how the restly strength of his disappeared, and he went unconscious on the ground. The last thing he heard was Jaden shouting his name.

Jaden's p.o.v.

Jaden couldn't believe what he was seeing. Jesse had sacrificed himself so that Jaden could win and stand at the end as the chosen one from the prophecy. That act moved Jaden deeply. He couldn't believe his friend would do such a thing for him, but at the same time, he wouldn't let Jesse's sacrifice go to waste. He would win this, and honor his friendship. One good about this duel though, Jesse was not send to that fake world of darkness yet. Since this was a battle royal duel, they needed a winner first. However, if Jaden lost, they would be over for both of them.

"Ruby.." Jaden could see Ruby carbuncle appear in spirit form at Jesse's shoulder now.

The purple cat looked worried at it's owner, as the little cat tried to wake it's partner up. Sadly Jesse was out for the count at the moment. One more reason for Jaden to win this. He placed his hand at the top of his deck.

"Tara, please give me strength so I can win this" he then whispered inside.

Jaden didn't hear any reply, but at the same time he felt stronger. Sure Yusuke could let Tara not be part of this match by her dueling skills, but she was with him in spirit. Then he drew. The card "Fifth hope" was in his hand, which was exactly what he needed. He activated it and returned 5 heroes back from the grave to his deck, and then he shuffled. He could now draw two more cards. Once again he could feel the strength of his sister there. He started off by activating the spell "O-oversoul" to bring back an elemental hero from his graveyard. Like E.H. Neos, who he of course summoned in att mode onto the field. Then he activated the continuous spell "A rival's name" from his hand. With this card he could chose a monster from his opponents graveyard and summon it in def mode. It was targeted to the continuous spell card, and had 0 att and def points. But to Jaden that hardly didn't matter.

"How dare you say that Jesse and my friendship is trash" Jaden hissed angrily "How dare you say our bond between us is trash too! That our friendship was the one thing that made Jesse lose. That's not true! Jesse's friendship with me will bring me victory!". He had shouted out that last part, and Yusuke looked puzzled at him.

"What in the world are you talking about?!" he questioned. Jaden snort at that.

"This card here. 'A rival's name' is the bond between myself and Jesse" He then said, but then he shook his head "No, it is the bond between me and all my rivals. Not just Jesse, but also my sister, Honest, Ember.. Well Everyone! That is why.. Jesse lend me your strength! Awaken Rainbow dragon!".

As it was a responds to Jaden's call, light emitted from Jesse's duel disk, and Rainbow dragon soon appeared on the field in def mode. Yusuke was staring shocked at the mighty dragon, and he even took some steps backwards. Who could blame him? Rainbow dragon was impressive. Even without att and def points.

"This.. how can Rainbow dragon which already had disappeared, reappear?!" Yusuke then uttered in a scared tone. Jaden snort at that. Didn't he read what A rival's name could do? Apparently not, or he wouldn't have asked that question.

"You should be very clear about it" Jaden instead said and made Yusuke look at him "You still can't forget about Honest, can you?".

"I.. I already forgot!" Yusuke replied quickly, but once again he didn't have eye contact with Jaden, which proved he wasn't being honest here.

"You are wrong. You can't forget about the people that are important to you. Your parent must also.." Jaden confronted him with in a firm tone. He didn't continue on the sentence with Yusuke's parents. Knowing him, he was properly still heartbroken by their deaths. Instead he said. "You didn't forget about Honest, and you kept it very carefully, didn't you? Your parents too! Only you were too pessimistic and gave up hope. Its not true that you cannot forget, but rather you don't want to forget, isn't it?".

"Yes Master, I came back for you" Honest now also pledged. Yusuke looked shocked at them now. He had a torn expression. It was like he couldn't decide what to do.

"Its too late" He then mumbled out "It's too late. He..".

"Not true. If your partner still exists, there is still hope" Jaden interrupted quickly "Look!".

He made Yusuke look towards him, as he activated another spell card. "Polymerization". He used it to fuse Neos and Rainbow dragon together to form "Rainbow Neos". Jaden smiled to himself. Rainbow Neos was a light monster with 4500 att points. Clearly enough light as Tara requested. Sadly Yusuke was prepared for that. Once again he activated his knight's effect. Once per turn it could chose a monster on the opponents side and add it's att points to itself, which gave Yusuke's knight an att on 6800. Jaden could see Yusuke smirk evilly at him now.

"Idiot! You will disappear into the world of true darkness" he then said.

His voice however sounded a bit different than from before. It was like he was talking with two different voices. Jaden smirked at that. Finally everything was in place. Tara had been right all along, which didn't surprise him at all. His sister were mostly correct in her hunches. This time also seemed to be the case.

"You're finally showing your weakness, Nightshroud" Jaden then said. Yusuke looked perplex at him. It was like he had no clue what Jaden was talking about.

"You started controlling Yusuke from the shadows didn't you?" Jaden then continued and smirked "That is why Tara, my sister found a second copy of Yusuke in the darkness. You are keeping a part of Yusuke's soul there so you can control it. I believe you are trying to erase his memories, but the real Yusuke is actually fighting you back, since he in reality doesn't want to forget. However I guess Tara's cleansing from the inside, has begun to show on you Yusuke. Between what is real and fake..". Yusuke were staring stunned at his hands now. It was like he was seeing double.

"This is..?" He questioned in a confused tone.

"You can come back Yusuke. No you should have come back long time ago" Jaden then said and pointed at the angel "Come back to Honest side".

Yusuke looked puzzled at him. Jaden could see how his body somehow looked like there was two of him in the air. Jaden figured it was because the rest of his soul was about to come back. Then Yusuke let out a painful scream, as the darkness suddenly rose around him. It was either trying to gain control of him, or trying to escape. Whatever reason Yusuke was in a lot of pain. Jaden needed to act quick here. He used Honest effect and made the angel card return to his hand. The angel appeared in spirit form beside him, and Jaden quickly asked it to go and save his master from the darkness. Nightshroud was clearly trying to gain control of his host again, but this time by force. Not by trickery as he had done before. Jaden could hear Tara entail in his head that Yusuke actually had believed that he was in control of Nightshroud's power, and not the other way around. The angel appeared beside Yusuke now, and Jaden activated Honest effect from his hand. By sending the card to the grave, a light monster, like Rainbow Neos, now gained the opponents monsters strength, so 6800 att points were added to rainbow Neos's 4500 att points. It had 11300 att points now.

"Master. I come to save you" Honest then said and placed it's wings around Yusuke as some kind of protection.

It apparently worked because a dark being got shut out of Yusuke's body soon after. Jaden could only presume that had been Nightshroud.

"Master" Honest then said in a relieved tone.

Yusuke was being hold in his firm grip. He was groaning in pain, but besides that he seemed to get better.

"I really couldn't forget could I?" Yusuke then questioned slowly "I always couldn't forget".

Honest nodded and smiled back. He kept Yusuke in his protection, as the dark being got assembled in the air. It looked like some kind of energy form of darkness. That could only be Nightshroud.

"Damn! Damn! You two actually dared.." The being hissed and Jaden figured he was referring to both him and Tara in this.

He didn't give the dark being much recovery since he made Rainbow Neos attack. It wasn't only clear vicious knight he was attacking. No Jaden made the monster attack everything that was connected to that fake darkness. That included the Trueman, the sphere Tara and Ember was in, and dark Nightshroud being at the end of the field. Nightshroud and Yusuke's life points dropped soon to Zero. Jaden had won the duel.

Then a lot of things happened. Honest of course left Jaden and his deck to return to Yusuke, who soon after went unconscious because of the whole possession thing. Ember and Tara were free from the sphere, and Ember was now hugging an no longer unconscious Jesse. Tara were hugging Jaden of course, and told him how proud she was, in him defeating Nightshroud and sort of Yusuke. Everything was going smoothly. That until Tara suddenly were looking concerned at the sky.

"Tara is something wrong?" Jaden questioned worriedly.

"Look" she said and pointed at the sky. Jaden, Jesse, and Ember did as she asked. All three of them soon had widened eyes. This couldn't be true.

"Why has the darkness not left?" Jaden questioned and Tara finished "Why is the eclipse still here?".

A,N: Dun, dun, dun! Cruel cliffhanger! Yeah I know I am cruel here, but at least you got a pretty long good chapter here. Hopefully. The next chapter is of course the boss battle with Nightshroud, who is in his true form. Talk about scary! So if you not into creepy things. Don't read the next chapter doing nighttime. A lot of tense stuff is happening. You also get a little more insight in who Nightshroud really is, and what Jaden's true fear actually is. So stay tuned.
