Tara's p.o.v.

Tara sneered in annoying's inside while holding the Jinzo card up to that Android duelist Makoto. She couldn't believe he had the nerve to challenge her boyfriend Zane, considered his condition. It made her rather angry. She knew Zane had accepted this duel by his own choice. Some of it was properly her and Haou's fault, but still, didn't he have any honor? He knew Zane was not in the right condition.

"Tara... don't!" she could hear Zane whisper.

He was trying to get up from the sandy ground beneath him, however Tara noticed he was in great pain. Jaden had bowed down and helped him up so he was at least sitting on the ground now. Tara saw Zane look at her with a begging expression though. He was gasping for air and sweat was running down his forehead. He was really in a terrible condition. Haou was in spirit form beside her. He was eyeing Zane with a stoic cold glare, but Tara ignored the spirit king for the time being. Her eyes was now more fixated on Makoto. The Android duelist actually hissed a little.

"A Jinzo card!" he then sneered "You have a Jinzo card! Don't tell me you are an Jinzo Android user like me?! And then you are dating a cyber duelist?! Don't you have any honor at all?". Tara eyes narrowed. She sent him a cold glare.

"Look who is talking" she then replied and placed Jinzo's card into one of her deck cases "But to reply your question, no I am not a Jinzo android style user like you. I am more like a mixer. A combo of both styles.. in some way". Makoto sneered.

"Okay, now you are disgracing my dueling style" he then sneered and pointed an angry finger at Tara. "Little girly chan you got yourself a deal. We are gonna duel. I am gonna rip you off that Jinzo card, so you can't call yourself a mixer. If I really do lose, which I won't, I will let that twerp duel me". He looked over at Syrus now.

"Fine, give me a sec to adjust my deck" Tara then replied and took two decks up from the belt in her uniform. Makoto snort coldly.

"Like that would help you" he then replied.

Tara snort inside. Overconfident eh? Well that will be his downfall. She quickly roamed around in the two decks. She had already decided which cards to pick. Haou looked over her shoulder though. He didn't say anything when Tara removed all his "Evil heroes" from her deck. Tara figured he, Makoto, at least needed a chance to beat her. Although even without Haou and the gentle darkness, his chances was very, very slim. Tara was after all dueling with her own deck. She was not going to hold back. She could hear Zane cough a little in the background. Blood was shown there.

"Big brother!" Syrus said worriedly "Come we need to take you to the hospital".

"Not before.. I need... see the duel" Zane uttered weakly. Tara smiled inside. At least he cared that much. She knew already that Zane had been dueling against Makoto to prove himself. To her and Haou. It was pretty obvious.

"But Zane you need treatment right away" Syrus then said in a more scared tone.

"Don't worry this won't take long" Jaden actually replied and smiled a little smile. "This guy has pissed Tara off. Try not to blink too much. It might be over then". Tara had an emotionless expression on her face, but nodded slightly. Then she placed her deck into her duel disk.

"Tara, use this card" Haou then said and pointed at one of the few cards that was left in the deck cases. Tara's eyes widened a little. She lifted carefully the card up.

"Tara, is that..?" Jaden then said slowly "You sure you want to use him? Can you..?".

"She can" Haou then interrupted "Trust me Tara". Tara looked slowly at the card. She couldn't see what it looked like, but she knew what card it was though. Slowly she placed the card into her deck. Haou's cards got placed in one of the deck cases.

"Okay I am ready" Tara then said. Makoto snort.

"About time. Hope you said your goodbyes to that card, because it is going to be mine" he then replied. Tara shrugged a little.

"We'll see" she then said. The duel began.

Tara: 4000 lp's.

Makoto: 4000 lp's.

"Ladies first" Tara said in her monotone voice and drew. She could hear the voice of her spirit partner in her hand as she drew. Marshmallow was smiling up at her.

"I place one monster face down and end my turn" Tara then said.

"Oh that's it girly Chan?" Makoto then said and drew "I had hoped on something more amazing, being Zane Truesdale's girlfriend and that".

He summoned "Drillago" in att mode. Tara smiled inside. He was so predictable. Since she had no face up monsters on her field, he couldn't attack her directly. However as overconfident as he was, he made an attack on her face down card anyway. That cost him dearly. Marshmallow appeared on the field, bouncing 1000 point of damage back to him.

"Wha.. what kind of weird monster deck is this?" Makoto uttered shocked "You said you were a mixer of..".

"I didn't say I used a deck mixed theme of the cyber style or Android style" Tara then interrupted "I said I sort of did. I am mixing many different monster types into this deck. That is my style of dueling".

Makoto tsked in annoying's. He placed a face down and ended his turn. Tara drew and quickly sacrificed her marshmallow to summon out "Jinzo". If she guessed correctly, then Makoto's face down was the trap card "call of haunted". She had after all studied his dueling style in his duel against Zane.

"Let me at him Gi.. lady Tara!" She could hear Jinzo say "Let me show him the true force of a Jinzo!". Tara nodded and made him attack Drillago. Makoto lost 800 life points. Then she ended her turn. Makoto sneered.

"Here it is, your annoying Jinzo" he then proclaimed with a sneer "Well I would love taking it down".

He drew and played the spell "Premature burial". He sacrificed 800 life points to get his "Drillago" back. Tara rolled her eyes. She had a feeling what would happen now, and when Makoto sacrificed his monster to summon his Jinzo, it didn't surprise her at all. Not even when he played the spell "Fissure" and destroyed her Jinzo, and got an direct attack in. Tara lost 2400 life points.

"Ha, what do think of that girly Chan?" he then said in cocky matter "My Jinzo is better than yours. There is no way you can win now". Then he laughed a little. However when Tara just shrugged, without any sign of emotion, he quickly stopped.

"Man you are creepy" he then proclaimed "Show at least some emotion here. I just blasted you with 2400 points of damage". Tara just shrugged.

"My sister is already mad at you for hurting Zane" Jaden then said "Hope you said your goodbyes, because I don't think you will get another turn". Zane groaned a little.

"She is.. mad?" he then said slowly. Jaden nodded.

"She was waiting for that Jinzo to come out" he then proclaimed "Tara has not used any spells, traps or eff's this whole duel. And he proclaims to be an awesome android duelist. Tara is clearly playing with him. She could have won already".

"Tara is.. playing with him?" Zane then said weakly. His eyes blinked a little.

"Zane, don't worry, you will soon get the rest you deserve" Tara then said and drew. Her deck of course didn't let her down. A blank card was now in her hand. His card!

"Tara, don't hesitate" Haou then said "He will respond, if your feelings are strong enough".

Tara bit her lip. She had tried many times to summon this monster as a kid. He never showed. What could be different now? She hugged the card to her chest. if Haou said.. Haou believed he would, so why shouldn't she?

"Go for it Tara!" Jaden cheered from the background "Play it! Win!". She nodded.

"I play the spell card 'double summon'" Tara then said and began her move. She could normal summon twice this turn. She summoned "Beast rat" to the field. Then she looked at the card in her hand. Please, please show yourself. I want to see you. I miss you my friend.

"I summon 'Cyber tech alligator' to the field" Tara then said and sacrificed her rat to summon the alligator on her duel disk. At first nothing happened. No hologram, and no monster. Then Jaden actually groaned a little in pain and clenched his chest.

"Yubel, wha..". A bright light shut out from his body and hit the card at the duel disk. For Tara's eyes a monster materialized. Tara eyes widened.

"Cyber tech alligator!" she then said in a low voice and few tears was shown in the corner of her eyes.

The alligator turned as spirit toward her. It flapped it's wings and it yellow robotic eyes looked at her. A smile showed on its face. Or as much as a robotic alligator could smile.

"Hello Tara!" It said in a static robotic voice. It sounds so caring though.

"He never died" Haou then said "He is a spirit. Yubel absorbed his spirit instead. To hurt you". Tara didn't know what to say. Cyber tech alligator nodded.

"The spirit world lifted their curse the moment, Yubel let me go" He then said and tilted his head "Don't cry Tara. Let's duel and win like old times". Tara nodded slightly. In the background they could hear Makoto hiss in annoying's.

"So that is the Cyber monster you use" he then said "Well it hardly makes any different. Even if you beat my Jinzo I would only lose 100 lp's, you won't win".

"You have lost the moment Cyber tech alligator appeared" Tara then said snort.

She was holding up the spell "Limiter removal". Makoto's eyes widened. It was the same spell he used against Zane earlier in the duel. It doubled the att on all machine monsters on her field. Cyber tech was having 5000 att now. Tara made him attack and she won the duel.

Normal p.o.v.

Then a lot of things happened. After the duel Makoto admitted his lost like a real man. He kept his word, and Zane's duel was cancelled. Instead Syrus should take over for him, however since Makoto just lost a crushing defeat at Tara's hands, he was not up to dueling. He gave Syrus three days to improve himself, so he hopefully get to Makoto's level. After that he had properly gone out to train himself. He had after all lost to Zane's girlfriend. Tara and the others had rushed over with Zane to the hospital, and he was got treatment right away. The doctors was surprised Zane had kept himself conscious through the whole duel though. His heart was in a terrible condition. Tara and Syrus was sitting outside in the waiting hall, and was waiting for Zane to get better. No one of them cared that they had to stay awake the whole night if possible. Jaden was sitting beside his sister on one of the benches there. Tara was in an emotionally mess, even though she didn't show it. She was happy Cyber tech alligator was back. She couldn't actually stop herself from crying in joy. However at the same time she was extremely worried about Zane. Cyber tech alligator gave her silently support. They decided to wait with the explanation on what happened in the past, until Tara was prepared to listen. She was just sitting there in an emotionless state and waiting for Zane to get better. Jaden had given her a blanket and was looking at Syrus who was sitting a little away from them at another bench. He was as emotionless as Tara. Only waiting. Jaden decided to just be there and wait together with them. Soon the sun rose, and finally after all that waiting, the light above the operating room slowly faded away. Zane had survived the surgery and was in no life threatening danger.

Zane's p.o.v.

Time skip.

Zane was lying in his bed at his hospital room. He woke up a while ago, and found Tara with her head sleeping at his bedside. She was sort of sitting on a chair beside her, but since she moved around in her sleep, Zane wondered when she actually would fall of the chair. However he still let her sleep. She looked extremely tired. Beside her on another chair was Syrus actually sitting, and he was awake. His eyes quickly turned to his big brother, but after a few greeting, and 'how you doing' questions, silence quickly uttered between the Truesdale brothers. They always have had a difficult relationship, even though it had been getting better after their journey in the other dimension. Zane sighed deeply inside. He wasn't sure what to say to Syrus at the moment. He instead turned his head to the sleeping Tara by his side. He couldn't stop smiling. It was really shown Tara loved him deeply. He was no longer doubting that. He let a weak hand roam through a lock of her hair. It really was his Tara sitting there. The Tara he loved. Although she had changed and was fused with the king right now. Zane was still not sure what he should make of it.

"She really cares a great deal for you big brother" Syrus then said with a smile.

"That she does" admitted Zane and sighed a little "But she has also changed".

"Because of the king?" Syrus questioned "I presume she told you the truth".

"That she did, and I don't know that to make out of it" Zane then replied slowly "She fused with him of all people!". He clenched his fist a little.

"What are you talking about Zane!" Syrus sneered "It sounds like you don't love Tara anymore. It is because of the supreme king inside of her isn't it?".

"I still love her Syrus. I really do, but.. she.. the king was the most evil being, menacing, cruel. He destroyed so much and.. Ahr even her fusing with Yubel would have been better" Zane then said and sighed deeply. Syrus sent him a cold look.

"Big brother, now you are being unfair" he sneered "Tara has changed a little, that is true. So has Jaden. They might even be considered true human beings, but that doesn't mean they aren't Jaden and Tara anymore. We all have accepted them. We each gave the time to know them, and they are not much different than before. Okay maybe they sound a little emotionless, but they still truly care about us. If you give Tara a chance you will see I am right". Zane looked at him a little.

"But it was the old Tara I fell in love with" he then said slowly.

"So what!" Syrus sneered angry "It was the old Zane Tara fell in love with too. She never stopped loving you, when you became a sadistic jerk. She even gave you a chance, so why don't you give her one?". Zane went silence for a while.

"Can't we talk about something differently?" He then questioned "Like why you two stopped the duel?". At that Syrus sighed and smiled a little smile at him.

"Isn't it obvious, I am your brother and Tara, your girlfriend. We care about you" he then replied and looked at the floor "Even if there's a duel you're chasing after, we surely don't want to see you die!". Zane smiled a weak little smile.

"No.. I am no longer chasing after any duel" he then said slowly "At that time, I already got it. In the other dimension, in the duel with Jesse, no Yubel. I used up everything I had. I couldn't go beyond that duel. I tried though in the duel with Makoto. I tried to show the king and Tara that I was fierce. But also the thing that pulled me so high in that duel with Jesse, was actually this deck". Zane was holding up his cyberdark deck so Syrus could see it. His brother looked puzzled at him.

"This deck still wants to duel" Zane then continued "It didn't care about my limit. It just wanted to keep fighting until it won, just like I used to be like".

"That's stupid!" Syrus then uttered in an angry tone "That selfish thought drove you that far! In that case, I'll show it I can release it from my big brother, from this deck!". Then he grabbed Zane's cyber deck and rushed out of the room, before Zane could say or do anything.

A little time passed. A couple of minutes, while Zane was lying in bed doing nothing much. He had strictly orders to not leave the bed for the time being. Zane sighed a little. It was a little boring, just lying here.

"I thought a duelist of your status, would do more interesting things" said a voice then suddenly. Zane turned towards it, and noticed Tara was awake. She was sitting on the chair now, and staring him down. Zane frowned a little. Something was off with her.

"Tara?" he then questioned, but to his surprise Tara shook her head.

"No, Haou. Tara, my vessel, is asleep for now" she then said and glared down at him. Zane finally noticed what was different. Tara's eyes were golden. "She needs it, so don't wake her up!". Zane was staring. He really was.

"You are.. the king she is.." he then said in a slow voice, then sneered "You possessed my girlfriend?! Or do Tara know of this?". Haou tilted his head.

"No, should she?" He then replied and Zane sneered angry. How dare he do that to Tara without her opinion. Haou snort a little and continued. "I know what you are thinking. That I am evil by doing that to her. I give my word I am not hurting her". Zane glared at the king for a moment. He was not sure if he could trust him.

"Oh and how can I trust you on that?" Zane sneered "You just possessed her".

"Think about this for a bit, Truesdale. I could have possessed her, And her twin, whenever I wanted to, but I never did" Haou then replied. Zane eyes narrowed a little. If he could possess the twins by a minutes notice, but never did then..

"What do you want then? Why did you possess Tara?" He then asked the king. Tara's eyes narrowed a little bit.

"We need to talk" he then said in a monotone voice "Possessing Tara enables me to talk to you directly, without her knowing".

"Oh and why should I..".

"You love Tara!" Haou interrupted and that made Zane stop talking "You love her even with all her changes. She loves you just as much. It's me you have a problem with". Zane glared at Haou for a moment. Then he nodded. He couldn't deny that one.

"You consider yourself weak compared to me. That you are not worthy of Tara's love. That you can't protect her any longer" Haou then pointed out "That and you are jealous of me". At that Zane sneered a little. He didn't like to get his weaknesses exposed that quickly.

"Yeah so? I don't need you to point that out for me" he then sneered at the king "Tell me what's this is about your majesty".

"Compromise" The king then replied "Tara doesn't need anyone to protect her. The darkness and I will do that for her. However she need something else. something I, Jaden, and Yubel can't provide her with".

"And that is? Your highness?" Zane then questioned. He was rather confused.

"Love! True love" Haou then replied and surprised Zane deeply "Love provided by others. Not just family. Yubel and I share that love for each other. We want the twins to gain the same happiness". Zane was staring. Really staring. The king wanted him to love Tara. But he already did that. It really couldn't be that simple.

"Think about it Zane Truesdale" Haou then said "Tara loves and cares deeply about you. Don't dismiss her, just because your issues with me".

"But I.. I am not sure I am worthy or strong enough to be there for her" Zane then said slowly "I hit my limits. I am no longer a true fighter".

"Then go find the answer you seek" Haou then said in a cold tone "We will compromise when you have made up your mind".

Then without warning Tara suddenly closed her eyes and fell towards the bed. Zane catches her with one arm, and decided to move a little so Tara could have some space in bed beside him. She looked really tired, and Zane figured that possession couldn't be good for her body either. Zane looked at the sleeping girl beside her. She looked really peaceful. Love her eh? I can do that, but is that really the only thing she wants? Zane sighed. He had to think carefully over this, before replying. However for now he was happy enough to look at Tara's sleeping form.

Normal p.o.v.

Time passed. Everyone was doing different stuff during the days. Syrus and in some way Makoto was training endlessly, until the day where they should fight against each other. Makoto inside the forest where he drew Jinzo and other android monsters to harness his skills. It was going rather well. At Syrus end it was not going that good. Syrus couldn't seem to unlock Zane's Cyberdark deck. That and added with that he recently discovered that the Cyberdark deck was the actually reason for Zane's heart condition, and not the shock collars from the underground duels. Every time Syrus drew a card, a little shock entered his body. However Syrus didn't give up. He still trained endlessly at the coastline near the red dorm. From afar the twins was actually watching. After Tara woke up in Zane's room, the cyber duelist asked Tara to go check on his little brother, because he was worried about him. Tara did of course as he asked, but she would have done that anyway. However she wondered if Zane only said that to make her leave the room. They watched how Syrus trained his draws from sun rising in the sky to sundown, without improving. They decided to do something about it.

Syrus's p.o.v.

Syrus was lying exhausted at the ground now. He was gasping for air. He had been training so hard, and now he had exhausted himself. Syrus sighed deeply now. It's no use. The way I am right now, I'll never be able to use that deck.

"Sy" said a voice suddenly and Syrus looked up. He noticed the twins walking down the stead pathway towards him now. Jaden was carrying a bag filled with Egg sandwiches. Syrus looked rather puzzled at him. Why was they here?

"Jay, Tara? What are you doing here?" he then questioned. The twins sat down beside him now. Jaden tossed some random unpacked sandwiches at him.

"Hanging out" Jaden replied and ate a random sandwich.

"You need a break" Tara then proclaimed and took a bite of a sandwich as well. The twins looked at each other and continued in unison "Your body can't take it".

"Now is not the time to eat" Syrus then said slowly and looked down in the ground now.

However his stomach sadly didn't agree. It roared loudly now. Syrus turned a little red by the sound. Jaden grinned a little at that. Soon they all were eating, while looking at the sun who was going down in the sky.

"So you're gonna fight using Zane's Cyberdark deck?" Jaden then questioned.

"Yeah, but only Zane can use that deck" Syrus then said slowly. He was a little down.

"Of course, you are you" Tara then replied and took another bite from her sandwich.

"I know that" Syrus said in a low voice "But..".

"You really think the deck's gonna answer you just because you're posing as Zane?" Jaden then said and made Syrus look over at him.

"The deck will answer?" he then questioned. Tara nodded slightly.

"That deck's been fighting with Zane all this time" she then replied "It'll know if the owner is fake". Syrus looked stunned at them. He didn't know what to do.

"Then, what should I do?" he then asked. The twins looked at each other.

"Don't ask us" Jaden then replied with a little smile "Ask the deck".

"Ask the deck?" Syrus questioned puzzled. He looked down at the deck in his duel disk. Zane's Cyberdark deck was in some way looking back at him.

"Think carefully about what the deck wishes for" Tara then said and curled up the paper from the sandwich, and placed it in her pocket "Shouldn't you be mixing your deck along with it?". Syrus looked stunned at them. Zane and his own deck?

"Don't just throw your deck away" Jaden then said and opened another sandwich.

He didn't look pleased. Syrus figured he was looking for the golden egg sandwich, who supposedly was the most tastiest sandwich ever. Syrus opened another sandwich. He had used a lot of energy after all. Use my deck as well? He had just thought that thought when he noticed that he actually had gotten the golden egg sandwich. He took that as a sigh. He took out Zane's deck from his duel disk, and began looking through them. There were after all not much time left until his duel against Makoto. The twins looked at him. Jaden smiled a little smile, while Tara looked emotionless. They hoped their advice would help Syrus in his upcoming duel.

Zane's p.o.v.

Time skip.

"Zane, Zane! Wake up!" yelled a voice and Zane could feel himself getting shaken quite a bit.

Zane slowly opened his eyes and was looking into two pair of brown eyes. Zane blinked a little and found the twins standing beside his bed.

"Jaden, Tara what are.." However he was interrupted by a set of clothes who got tossed in the head of him. Jaden sneered in annoying's.

"No time for that" Jaden then said "Come on and get dressed already".

"Syrus and Makoto's duel is about to begin" Tara replied him, when he looked rather confused at them. Zane bit his lip.

"I am not going" he then replied slowly "Too what point".

"What point?" Jaden then said in a cold tone and grabbed him "Syrus is dueling Makoto for your sake. You could at least watch".

Zane blinked a little. Since when had Jaden ever been forceful. He looked at Tara for a little bit. A red hue appeared on his cheeks a little. Like he was gonna change in front of Tara here.

"I am leaving" Tara then said in her monotone voice "Don't take too long". Then she left the room. Jaden let go of Zane, so he could change. Zane looked at the clothes Jaden had brought him. it was his normal dark attire, he usually used.

"You have to go" Jaden then said "It's important, that you go". Zane shrugged.

"Why? Syrus can't defeat Makoto" he then said slowly "I couldn't..".

"Haou wants you to go" Jaden then interrupted and smiled a little. "And if he says that, then I suggest you go. He is usually not that pushy". Zane lifted an eyebrow.

"The king? Really now" Zane said in a nonchalant tone "Why does he care?".

"Well who knows" Jaden said and shrugged "All I know is that he wants you to go. Something about that you were seeking something". That made Zane's eyes widened in surprise. He slowly began changing.

"I actually think Haou likes you" Jaden then suddenly said. That made Zane stop up for a moment. He looked puzzled over at Jaden now. Jaden smiled a little and gestured him to continue. Then he began talking again "Yeah I believe he do, in Haou's own weird caring kind of way. I don't know him as good as Tara and Yubel, but Haou normally doesn't take real contact to people, like he did with Tara".

"You know about that?" Zane then said and his eyes narrowed. Jaden nodded.

"I know. I can feel him, when he uses his powers through Tara" he then said "Tara doesn't truly know yet though. However I think he tries to help you to move forward. Either because you remind him of himself, or because he wants Tara to be happy. Either way, Haou likes you. He would never let Tara near you if he didn't".

Zane hummed a little. He recalled his meeting with him in the other dimension. It was true that the king had been rather possessive over Tara when they meet. Jaden as well of course, but he had possessed him, so that was not truly the same. Zane sighed.

"Fine let's go" he then proclaimed. Jaden nodded and helped him over in the wheelchair, since Zane still was forbidden to stain his heart too much. Soon they all three were on their way towards the beach.

Syrus's p.o.v.

It was late in the evening. Actually around midnight since it was at that time Makoto's duel with Zane got postponed. Syrus was on his way to the beach to duel Makoto in Zane's place. Just as they had agreed on. Makoto was already there, when Syrus showed, and the Android duelist smirked at him.

"In order to pay your debt to your brother, and girly chan, you seem to be working quite hard, little boy" Makoto commented "Hope that being Zane Truesdale's little brother and all, you at least have some worth. Girly chan believed that". Syrus didn't say anything at the beginning. Then he lifted his duel disk.

"Beside taking over in this battle, I won't forgive a defeat" Syrus then proclaimed "Bring it on!". He reached for her deck in his deck case at his belt. Makoto activated his duel disk as well. Soon the duel began.

Syrus; 4000 Lp's.

Makoto: 4000 Lp's.

Syrus started off. He drew and summoned "Cyber Phoenix" in att mode. Then he placed 3 face down's and ended his turn. Makoto was up. He drew and summoned "Jinzo returner" to the field in att mode. Because of its eff, Jinzo returner can attack Syrus directly. Syrus was about to lose 600 life points, but luckily he was having the trap "Power wall" ready. He discarded the 6 top card from his deck to the grave. That made the damage go to 0. Those cards were, Cyberdark Keel, Cyberdark edge, Cyberdark horn, Kiteroid, Steamroid and Drillroid. However Makoto was not done yet. He activated the spell "Psychic wave". It was also an old spell he used in his duel against Zane. He could sent Jinzo to the grave, to deal 600 points of damage to Syrus. Just like in Zane's duel, Syrus activated "Fusion guard" trap card. He sent a random fusion monster (Cyber end dragon) to the grave. The effect damage turned to 0. At that Makoto snort and activated another spell. The card "Dna ensure magic". Now Syrus couldn't sent dragon monsters to the grave. Makoto placed one facedown card and ended his turn. Syrus sneered in annoying's. This is going exactly the same as the fight with my big brother. But Zane had.. Syrus looked down at the last facedown he was having. The trap "Rebirth judgement". That's right. I'm sure big brother planned to use this card to reverse the situation. Then I can change all monsters in the grave to dragon types. Syrus nodded to himself. He drew and activated that trap. He changed every monster to dragons in the grave. Then he activate the spell "Cyberdark impact". With this spell he could take the cyber dark trio from his grave and return them to his deck. Then he could fusion summon "Cyberdark dragon" from his extra deck. A vicious lv 8 dragon with 1000 att and def points appeared on his field now. Syrus quickly activated his dragon's eff. He could equip itself with a dragon monster from his grave. Since every monster was dragons now, Syrus equipped it with "Cyber end dragon". Cyber dark dragon had 5000 att now. Makoto smirked.

"I sacrifice Jinzo returner to activate my trap 'Crush card virus'" he then said "I check the opponents field, hand and every card you draw for the next 3 turns. Oh and every monster with over 1500 att on the field is destroyed". Syrus looked in horror when Cyber dark dragon got destroyed.

"Cyber dark, and even cyber dark dragon were.." Syrus then uttered rather shocked.

"Now then, let me check your hand" Makoto then said and smirked.

"There is no monsters" Syrus replied slowly and revealed 2 magic cards to Makoto.

Makoto just smirked. He activated Jinzo returner's eff in the grave. Since it was sent to the grave, he was allowed to special summon "Jinzo" from his grave.

"Could it be.." Syrus then uttered rather surprised "You were preparing to summon Jinzo back in the duel against my brother?". Makoto smirked evilly.

"That's exactly right" he then replied and Jinzo appeared on to his field. "With this monster, the android style is untouchable". Syrus looked puzzled at him.

"But you lost to Tara" he then questioned. Makoto rolled his eyes.

"Well okay true, but girly chan had a Jinzo, and that is part of the android style" he then defended "Secondly Girly chan was a mixer. That doesn't truly count".

Before Syrus could say anything, Makoto activated his monster's eff. Jinzo now negated his "Rebirth judgement" card. Now Syrus had no dragon monsters in the grave any longer. Syrus sneered a little and switched his cyber phoenix to def mode. Then he ended his turn. Makoto began laughing out loud.

"You couldn't live up to your brother and Girly Chan's expectations after all" he then said "What a pity".

Normal p.o.v.

The duel continued. Neither of the two duelists had lost any life points at the moment. However that could surely turn in a blink of an eye. A little far away at the sidelines was Zane and the twins watching the duel. They were at the pathway since it was easier to move Zane around there. However Syrus could see them, if he just turned his head a little. However he was really occupied on the duel to notice.

"Just like Sy and you Jaden said, Syrus is using my deck to fight him" Zane then replied. Tara shook her head and placed a blanket at his legs so he wasn't cold.

"No, Syrus is not using your deck to fight" she then said.

Zane looked puzzled at her. However it was Makoto's turn. He drew and summoned "Drillago" to the field in att mode. Then he surprisingly sacrificed his Jinzo to special summon "Jinzo lord". You could apparently only summon this card, by sacrificing a Jinzo on the field. Syrus looked a little stunned at him. To think he had that kind of ace monster in his deck. Makoto explained his monster's eff. Trap cards face down couldn't be activated and face up trap cards on the field was negated. Each turn, he could check a card in his opponents spell and trap card zone. If it's a trap card, it's destroyed and the opponent takes 300 points of damage.

"Hmm a monster who surpasses Jinzo" Tara then said slowly from the sidelines "Wonder if my Jinzo would be okay with that".

However Makoto attacked with Jinzo lord, destroying Cyber phoenix. Syrus could draw a card because of his monster's eff. Then Drillago attacked Syrus directly reducing his life points to 2400. Jinzo lord's eff activated. He destroyed the face up rebirth judgement card and dealt Syrus 300 points of damage as well. Then he ended his turn. It was Syrus's turn now.

"My turn. I draw" Syrus then said and drew.

"Due to crush card virus effect, you have to let me check that card you just drew" Makoto then reminded Syrus. Syrus sneered and showed him a magic card.

"A magic card eh" Makoto then said and tsked. However when Syrus ended his turn without doing anything else, Makoto began laughing out loud.

"You've struggled very hard, but this is it" the android user then proclaimed.

He then drew and made Jinzo lord attack Syrus directly. The others watched in horror. If this attack hits, Syrus was done for.

"I activate Kiteroid's eff from the graveyard" Syrus then yelled "When Kiteroid is in the grave, I can reduce the damage done to a player, from a direct attack to 0. However this effect can only be used ones per duel". Zane looked stunned.

"Kiteroid?" he questioned "That card is certainly not in my deck".

At that the twins smiled. Or Jaden smiled for both of them. Makoto sneered in annoying's, but he could still attack with Drillago, and he dealt Syrus 1600 points of damage, leaving him only with 500 life points. Then Makoto activated the continuous spell "Tag request". Every turn on his standby phase, Makoto could check Syrus deck and select a trap card. Then place it face down in Syrus S/T card zone. If that card was moved from play, like with his Jinzo's eff, the owner of that card would get 1000 points of damage. That basically means Syrus would lose the duel. The others looked in horror. That means Syrus had to win his next round or it would be over.

Syrus's p.o.v.

Syrus sneered in annoying's. This opponent Makoto was not a pushover. Syrus was actually impressed that Tara could beat him in only 5 rounds, and that was surely only because she let him have 2 rounds. Syrus didn't question that Tara would win in three turns or less. If she sat his mind to it. She had given him this chance and he was not about to give up now. He could hear Makoto laugh now.

"I knew right from the start you'd lose" Makoto then said "But this is as far as you'll get. You've surely shamed your brother and Girly Chan".

Then he laughed like hell. Syrus eyes narrowed and he was having an angry expression on his face. You're wrong! This duel is not just for my big brother!

"My turn I draw" Syrus then said and was holding up a card.

"Because of the virus eff, you have to show me that card" Makoto then said.

Syrus nodded and looked at the card he had just drawn. A level 8 roid monster was shown in his hand now. Syrus eyes widened in surprise. I get it now. This duel is a fight to surpass my big brother. I always chased him. Big brother!

For his inner eye Syrus saw himself in a colorful place. He was a young child. Younger than he was now, and in front of him was his big brother. An younger version of Zane. Syrus smiled happily and began walking over to him.

"Big brother!" he yelled and tried to reach his brother. But no matter what he did, he never reached him. Syrus ran and ran. He got older. Zane did as well. They were at that age they were now. Syrus was still trying to reach his big brother.

"Big brother!" he then yelled.

Tears were falling down Syrus cheeks now. He then quickly rubbed his eyes clean. Big brother has always.. Syrus turned his head to the right and noticed the twins and his big brother watch the duel from the sideline.

"Syrus" Zane said slowly. He was having an emotionless expression.

"Big brother" Syrus then yelled back, but got interrupted by Makoto.

"What are you doing?" he yelled to Syrus "Dragonroid has 2900 att points. Hurry and toss it into the graveyard already". Syrus did as he asked, but he was also smiling.

"Finally, this deck finally responded to me" he then said. The twins eyes widened a little. Zane looked rather puzzled at that statement.

"What are you talking about?" Makoto then also questioned. Syrus just began his turn without explaining further.

He started off by using the spell "Remove bomb". He could remove 5 cards from his deck from play, and if there is any monster cards among them, he could inflict 300 points of damage for each of them. Syrus was holding up 5 cards he had decided to remove. 2 spells and the 3 Cyberdark monsters, Keel, Edge and horn. Makoto looked rather stunned at that.

"The three cyberdarks?" he questioned before he got slammed with 900 points of damage.

Then Syrus activated the continuous spell "Spell economics". With this in play, Syrus no longer had to pay any life points to play a spell. He then plays the spell "Dimension fusion" from his hand. Normally he should pay 2000 life points to use it, but because of the other spell, he didn't have to. With it he could special summon as many monsters as possible who had been removed from play. He therefore summoned the Cyberdark trio to the field. Cyberdark Edge, Keel and horn. Lastly he played the spell "Power bond". Zane's eyes widened in surprise.

"Such a combo still exists in the deck?" he then questioned.

"Jaden and Tara both told me before, if you want to know what the deck wants, just ask it!" Syrus then said out loud, which made Zane look up at them. Jaden and Tara both nodded in agreement. Syrus continued. "Big brother has started to think he can't keep growing and is giving up. That isn't true. Big brother and myself, along with the twins. We'll continue to grow from now on! And this deck itself, is also searching for improvement, and wants to evolve!".

At that Zane was actually taken aback by that speech. He looked over at Tara, then at Jaden, then back at Tara and lastly over at his little brother. A smile was actually present on his lips now.

"Syrus, that kid. He's just truly surpassed me" Zane then said. Tara hugged him a little, while saying his name. Jaden was smiling at them.

Syrus continued his move. He fused his three cyberdark's into "Cyberdark dragon" once again. Because it was summoned with power bond it had 2000 att.

"And just what can a 2000 att point dragon do anyway" Makoto then stated.

"Cyber dark dragon equips itself with all dragon type monsters in the grave" Syrus then told Makoto "And its att points go up by that value".

"Impossible, you shouldn't have any dragon type monsters in your grave" Makoto replied in surprise. Syrus sent him a determined face expression.

"Dragonroid is treated as a dragon type in the graveyard" he then told Makoto, who now looked rather stunned.

Syrus equipped Dragonroid to his monster and Cyber dark dragon now had 4900 att. However his dragon's eff was not done yet. It second eff lets it gain 100 att for every card in Syrus's graveyard. It had now 5800 att points. Syrus attacked and destroyed Makoto's Jinzo lord. His life points dropped soon to 0 and Syrus won the duel. In the background he could see his brother actually clapping at him. Tara was standing beside him, and lifted a thump up for him. They were apparently both impressed by his dueling.

Tara's p.o.v.

Tara nodded approved, when Syrus began walking over to them. Jaden had in the last minute of the duel, walked off somewhere. He mumbled something about being with Alexis. Or at least talk to her, but Tara wondered if that was the truth. It could be that he just wanted them to be alone. Her, Syrus and Zane. Makoto had also disappeared off somewhere. After two devastating defeats, Tara couldn't really blame him, but she wondered if she should have given her Jinzo away to him, considered that he was an Android Jinzo user. Maybe her Jinzo would fit better there.

"Don't bother Tara!" She then could hear Jinzo say and he appeared beside her now. "You will not be able to give my card away".

Tara translated that to that Jinzo liked being in her deck. Even though he didn't really say it. Tara couldn't stop herself from smiling inside. They were beginning to get very crowded with all these spirits around them. Jaden having Winged Kuriboh, Yubel and Honest around him, while she had Jinzo, Marshmallow and now Cyber tech alligator. Tara was so happy he was back. That and there was Haou and Professor Banner's spirit inside Pharaoh. They were crowded indeed now.

"Thanks for letting me use your deck" Syrus then said and was holding the deck he had used in front of Zane. Zane shook his head a little.

"That deck is already yours now" he then said. He looked up in the sky with a little smile. "I'm going to build a new deck from the scratch. It'll be an evolving deck of course". Then he to Tara's surprise took her hand.

"Which reminds me, I am done thinking Tara" he then said and smiled at her "Just like the deck, I believe we both need a restart. We have both changed, and I figured we both needed to get used to that. So are you okay with that our relationship begins from a scratch as well? If you still want me that is". Tara looked stunned at him. Then tears were peeking out of her eyes. She quickly hugged him.

"Yes, if that's what it takes to be with you" She then said in her monotone voice.

"Ahr Tara don't cry" Zane then replied and hugged her slowly.

"I just can't help it" Tara then replied "I just love you too much".

"I love you too" Zane replied with a smile "Oh by the way, tell that king of yours, that we need to compromise. I draw a certain line around you being His Wessel and My girlfriend. That and we will seal that deal in a duel. When I have built my new deck and gotten better that is".

Tara rolled her eyes and nodded. Haou was roaming around her with that plastered smirk on his face. That kind of made Tara roll her eyes even more. Boys can be such idiots sometimes. Syrus just smiled at them.

They all began walking back to the hospital. Syrus had insisted on driving the wheelchair. Tara was walking beside Zane while holding his hand.

"You two may be able to do it" Zane then suddenly said and broke the silence between them. "I have wanted this for a while, but never actually could archive it. I'd like to make a whole new pro league. The Truesdale pro league, how does that sound?". Syrus and Tara's eyes widened in surprise by that.

"Let's do it together" Zane then said and smiled "All of us, and our duel, have much possibility to evolve. This will be my turn to chase after you Syrus, Tara". Syrus had tears in his eyes. Then he nodded. He wanted to do it together with him. Tara was a little hesitating though. She looked at Zane.

"The Truesdale pro league?" she then questioned "You want me in it? But I am not bearing the Truesdale name?". At that Zane actually smirked a little.

"You might. In the future that is" he then replied. That made Tara stop surprised up.

"Zane.. are you proposing to me?" she then asked in a low voice.

"No" Zane replied in a cold emotionless tone.

Tara sighed relieved. This was going way too fast if he was. She didn't hear Zane mumble the words "Not yet" in a low, low voice though. They continued moving towards the hospital. In the background hiding behind some trees, was Jaden standing, and he was watching them with a happy smirk.

"Congratulations you two. You deserve it. I might give Alexis a call in the morning though" he then said in a low voice and began walking back to the red dorm.

A,N: Well that was that chapter. Hope you like it. I found it rather sweet and cute. At least in my eyes. The next chapter is with Chazz, Aster and Tara mostly. Chazz and Tara enters the big league. In some way that is. That and a new Oc named Freya is showing. Hope that sounds interesting.
