Jaden's p.o.v.

Around the same time.

Jaden growled, annoyed. He was in so much trouble that he could hardly believe it. Nightshroud had channeled the power of his sister and his given up friends inside the darkness sphere. For those reasons, Haou was incapable of helping him in this duel and furthermore, whatever pain the king experienced, Jaden experienced as well. Everything looked rather bleak right now. Without his sister... without Tara he couldn't win. That fact was horribly clear to him now. He didn't know what he should do. Of course, Jaden wasn't gonna give up. He had promised Tara that he wouldn't. But at the same time, he did wonder if it was possible. Was Nightshroud really supposed to be the savior of this world? He couldn't and wouldn't believe it!

"Why don't you take a close look at the world around you?" Nightshroud now suggested in an evil tone of voice.

Jaden hissed angrily, but at the same time he didn't know how to stop Nightshroud from talking. He felt rather woundable without Haou or Yubel's protection.

"Think carefully about the current situation," Nightshroud then continued. "Abnormal weather, unnatural occurrences, unstoppable disputes and terrorism. There are a large number of unnatural disasters caused by broken humans. Let me show you what the future has in store".

Without warning, Nightshroud's skeletal hand approached Jaden and created a blinding light. It was so sharp that Jaden had to close his eyes for the time, or else he would be blind. When he opened them again, a horrifying sight was in front of his. He had never seen anything like it. Destruction, decay, ruins. Everything looked dead and without light. A dark future indeed. No animals or human beings were here. As well as no nature or anything Jaden knew from his time period. Everything was dark and desolated.

"This is the future of...human beings?!" Banner uttered rather scared as he also looked around on this horrifying scenery. Jaden couldn't keep himself from gulping. This just couldn't be real!

"This is your unchangeable fate, Jaden Yuki. Your future! You will watch how this unfolds. Living forever in between the light and darkness," Nightshroud explained with an evil gleam in his eyes. "The human beings are tired. From continuously searching for a small bit of possibility. The students of this Academy are no different. They are scared of living in this terrifying world. Just as your beloved sister. They do not believe in their own powers and desires to confront such a world. It is these types of thoughts that dyes a card and soul black and gives me my power. You and your fellow kinsmen are merely dying this world in a deep coat of black." Jaden hissed angrily at that.

"I don't...I will not believe in those words!" he then instead shouted and drew.

He made Neos Wiseman attack Darkness Seed. Nightshroud lost 2000 life points and 1000 life points extra because of Neos Wiseman's effect. Jaden's life points rose up to 5000 now. Jaden clenched his fists. He had destroyed the threat, now right? Without Darkness Seed, he couldn't raise his life points back to the full amount. Sadly, as the smoke cleared, Darkness Seed was still on the field, much to Jaden's horror.

"It is useless," Nightshroud commented. "Darkness Seed's effect from the grave: it can't be neutralized as soon as it is activated from the grave, and thereby not be destroyed by battle."

Jaden sneered angrily as he tossed down a face down and ended his turn. Nightshroud chuckled darkly at Jaden's attempt to defeat him. Just like before, his life points rose to 4000 once again. Or as Nightshroud told him, he gained the power from his friends and sister. Jaden was sadly back to square one. Nightshroud of course started off his turn and drew. He then tributed his Darkness Seed to summon his "Darkness Bramble", which was a level 6 monster with 2000 att and def point. Jaden was staring at this new flower eye monster. It was as ugly as the last one, and worse, it inherited Darkness Seed's effect from the grave. Now he could still get his life points up to 4000 every turn, as well as look at his set cards, which enabled him to use his Zero and Infinity combo. Something which Nightshroud of course activated. Between Infinity and Zero was all three cards. His trap "Darkness 3" was one of them, which he decided to activate. With this card, his opponent takes 1000 points of damage for every "Darkness" card that was in play between his traps. Since he had three Darkness cards, Jaden now took 3000 points of damage. Jaden let out a scream when the shockwave from the trap hit him. He could feel Haou try to smooth the pain by sharing it with him, but it was still hard to bear. Jaden could feel how life got drained out of him as his life points got reduced to 2000.

"There is no chance for him now!" Jaden could hear Banner utter from his hiding place.

Jaden growled a little annoyed for the lacking support, but at the same time he knew that was true. He just couldn't handle this without Tara! Nightshroud then ended his turn, and as he did, his traps reset. Just as usual. Jaden glared angrily at him and drew. Regardless of his disadvantage, he couldn't give up. Even though things looked hopeless, he was gonna keep fighting. He was gonna lose trying.

"I activate Zero, Infinity!" Nightshroud then said and activated his trap once again, before Jaden even could see it coming.

Two traps were in between his Zero and Infinity combo. The cards "Darkness 3" and "Darkness 1". Nightshroud of course chose Darkness 3 once again. This time Jaden had to take 2000 points of damage which would reduce his life points to zero if it hit. Jaden hissed angrily. He didn't have anything to save him with this time. He closed his eyes in utter defeat. This was the end. Goodbye sweet world!

"Jaden! What in the world are you doing?!"

Jaden looked surprised around. Someone was talking to him. In the middle of his distress, someone was really talking to him. What was weirder was that it seemed time had stopped around him. Everything around him was frozen so to speak. Jaden looked bewildered around. What was going on here?! Then suddenly a being, seemingly looking like a ghost that was flashing in and out, appeared beside him. Jaden's eyes widened surprisingly.

"Tara!" he uttered shocked as he starred at the ghostly appearance of his twin sister. "How? Why? I thought Nightshroud had...maybe he lied..."

"Sadly, that isn't the case, brother. He's using me and the others to power up his world. I'm still trapped in the sphere," Tara explained in a sad tone.

"But how... how can you be here then?" Jaden questioned. "Why is everything frozen?". He could see Tara roll her eyes a little.

"Jaden really? Are you that dense? We're still connected as twins. Nothing can change that," she then replied. "As long as you don't give up hope."

"But Tara...I...this is hopeless," Jaden said and sighed. "Without you, I can't win. Without the King and Guardian, nothing will reign, remember? Yubel is part of Neos now, and Haou is...".

"Prophecies never seems to follow much logic, Jaden, and people's imprint on them is always different," Tara interrupted and smiled a little smile. She was flashing in and out even more now. It was like she was about to disappear.

"I don't understand..." Jaden replied in a confused tone and shook his head. "Tara, I don't even have an option in winning at all. I..."

"Don't give up, Jaden. Not until the last card is played. Promise me that!" Tara interrupted a quickly before she disappeared once again.

Her last words being, "You have more than one options in this duel". Then she was gone and with her disappearance, time was once again running, which didn't give Jaden time to question what just had happened. Nightshroud had just activated his card combo.

"Farewell Jaden Yuki!" Nightshroud announced and fired the shockwave from his cards at Jaden.

Jaden was staring in horror. He didn't know how to block it. What did Tara mean by there was more than one option in this duel...I...wait, Tara! Jaden turned his attention to the duelling field beside him. Tara was still considered being part of the duel, even though she was not here, meaning her cards were available too. His gaze flickered to her two facedown cards on the field. Now he just hoped he picked the right one at the right time. He could feel energy coming from one of them, and therefore picked that one. His faith, of course, rewarded him.

"I activate Tara's Quick-Play spell card 'Twin sacrifice!" Jaden then uttered and could see how Nightshroud was staring in disbelief at him. "By sacrificing two monsters on the field, I'm allowed to summon a monster with a similar name from any hand. I pick my own hand, as I am sure Tara would approve of that choice!"

"That is not possible. You can't activate her cards. Your sister is no longer in play!" the skeleton god sneered. Jaden rolled eyes at that.

"Actually, I can. As you know, Tara and I are duelling together. You never stated that this was a battle royal," Jaden countered knowingly. "That, and you never defeated Tara. You just dragged her to your world, making her unable to duel. However, her life points are still there, meaning this move is legit."

Nightshroud growled angrily at that, but he didn't say anything else. Jaden wondered if he was angry at himself for not realizing this mistake. Jaden just smirked confidently. Seems like even gods could make mistakes. He continued his move, making Jaden sacrifice his sisters Cyber Tech Alligator and Neo-Spacian Dark Panther to make her card get activated. It allowed him to summon Chrysalis Pantail from his hand in def mode, since it had a similar name. Then, he activated his own face down trap called Cocoon Veil. Jaden could tribute his Chrysalis monster. In return, he wouldn't take any damage from a card effect this turn, meaning Nightshroud's card combo didn't work on him. Furthermore, he was allowed to summon that Neo-Spacian whose name was written on the Chrysalis card. It didn't matter if it was summoned from his hand, deck or ethers graveyards. Soon Tara's N. S. Dark Panther appeared onto his field in def mode.

"Grr, let me at him! Let me get revenge for kitten!" Dark Panther growled angrily.

"Yeah sure. Just give me a sec," Jaden replied and looked at Neos Wiseman.

He, of course, made the monster attack Darkness Bramble. Nightshroud was of course prepared, as Jaden figured he was, and activated his Darkness Raincrow effect from his hand. Since Jaden was attacking, he was allowed to send Daarkness Bramble and Darkness Raincrow to the grave. By doing so, he could special summon his Darkness Neosphere in att mode on to the field. Jaden was staring in disbelief. His new flower darkness monster had 4000 att points, which forced Jaden to stop his monsters attack because of the att power difference. To make matters worse, Darkness Neosphere inherited Bramble effect, meaning he could check his facedown cards before activating them. Just like before. Furthermore, Neosphere also allowed Nightshroud to rearrange the cards at will now. Horror filled expression appeared onto Jaden's face now. Now his trap are my worst enemy! If he activates those traps again, my life points really will hit zero!

Tara's p.o.v.

Tara looked concerned at her brother. Nightshroud was a fierce opponent indeed, and he didn't let up one bit. Must be a part of being this logical god he was. Although Tara didn't like this at all. She was still here though. Beside her brother in the duel against Nightshroud. Although she was not here psychically. Tara was still not sure what was going on here. One moment she was in the sphere reliving her boyfriend's worst moment, then seconds later she was here, as a spirit beside Jaden. Tara wondered if it was because she was having hope, but then again, shouldn't her body be there along with her? Tara sighed deeply. She didn't know what was happening, and worst of all, Jaden couldn't see her. She sighed again.

"Don't give up hope, Tara" a voice then suddenly said and made Tara turn around rather surprised. Haou was beside her in spirit form, but unlike his normal appearance he looked more... vivid. More alive so to speak.

"You surprised?" Haou mused in a cold tone. "You're a spirit now."

"Oh...eh...right," Tara mused slowly. She was still rather confused though. "But shouldn't you be with Jaden? He needs your help".

"No, he doesn't," Haou replied firmly. "Your brother has come a long way. So have you, Tara. We are connected again as you can see". Tara nodded quickly in confirmation. More to herself than anybody else.

"But Haou...why am I like this?" she then asked slowly and pointed at herself.

"You can create anything as long as it is black, Tara," the king lectured firmly. "Though like you, I am surprised. By your development."

Tara looked surprised at him. She hadn't done this. There wasn't anything black around her. She had just said that, when a black aura appeared around her. Tara looked shocked over at Haou, but the king just nodded, confirming that this was her own doing.

"But I don't understand, Haou. Why did I do this? I don't remember. And why didn't I take my physical body with me? I am so confused," Tara uttered in distress.

"Calm down," Haou replied and surprisingly placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

It did work a little. He then continued. "You had hope. You had a strong wish to be beside Jaden, to help him, and your powers granted you that. Nightshroud's power on you however, is still too strong for you to break, and you were left with this solution."

He gestured with his other hand at her and then let go of her shoulder. Tara bit her lip a little. This was really her own doing?

Evil laughter could be heard around them now, and Haou and Tara both turned towards the evil god they were all facing. He clearly felt victorious.

"Ha-ha, whatever you do now is useless," Nightshroud then told Jaden and smirked evilly. "There is no longer anyone to give you strength. This future will be your grave".

Tara bit her lip worriedly and looked around. So this was really the future of humanity? She clenched her fists. Even if that is true...he never stated when this will occur. Oh Jaden, please realize that.

"You may be right, Nightshroud," Jaden then said and surprised Tara a great deal. "I'm the only one here to stop you, and there is no one around to give me strength. At least not in living flesh. However, I know Tara is with me in spirit. That is why I won't give up. Not ever!"

Tara's eyes widened at that. Did her brother know she was there with him in spirit or was that a metaphor?

"It's pointless to rely on your dear sister. She is in my world now, and I will never let go of her. You might as well give up and spare yourself for this crushing defeat," Nightshroud replied and chuckled. "Look around Jaden Yuki. There is No. One. Here. You are all alone!". Tara could hear her brother snort in annoyance.

"As long as her legacy is still here, I will never give up!" He then shouted. "Tara has given me this opportunity and I am not gonna waste it. This will be your undoing!"

Then he activated Dark Panther's effect to prove that point, and Tara couldn't be prouder. By activating her Panther's effect, it could change into the enemy and gain their effects and stats. Jaden made it transform into Darkness Neosphere and thereby gained its effects and att and def at 4000. Jaden was not done however. He activated the effect of his now Darkness Neosphere. He could rearrange Nightshroud's Darkness cards as he saw fit. Just as Nightshroud was able to do some minutes ago. Furthermore he also made Nightshroud's field spell "Darkness" get set facedown, which surprised this evil god greatly.

"HA! Tara gave me a game changer for sure," Jaden said confidently and smiled at Nightshroud. "Now then, the moment you activate your field spell again, W wry single one of your spell and trap cards that are on your field are destroyed. Meaning your traps are destroyed too."

Tara lit up instantly by that. She could even hear how Banner commented that move. It really was a game changer. Tara didn't doubt Jaden's abilities to get out of a tough spot. If it had been anybody else, she might, but not her twin brother. Jaden ended his turn with a face down. Nightshroud was up, and Tara was happy over how displeased the darkness god looked.

"It is my turn," Nightshroud said and drew. He glared at Jaden. "You might have stopped me from using my traps, but I still have my high attack powered, Darkness Neosphere".

He, of course, made that said monster attack and destroy Jaden's Neos Wiseman. To both the twins and Haou's horror. Jaden's life points dropped down to 1000 too. Tara clenched her hand. Without Neos Wiseman, what could Jaden do?

"Neos Wiseman!" Jaden shouted in distress as well.

"Jaden! Everyone!" Tara could suddenly hear Yubel say and got really surprised when Yubel was standing in front of her.

She was of course still mind linked to Jaden, so her brother could hear and see her there. Tara could see how her brother turned his attention where he believed Yubel was at the moment.

"Use Neos Wiseman's effect and exclude me from the game," Yubel continued and smiled at Tara and Haou. Her clawed hand was holding the king's hand. "By doing so, you can revive Neos". Jaden looked horrified at her.

"But Yubel, what about the prophecy? Without you, it won't..."

"Jaden. You are as slow as usual," Yubel interrupted and turned around to look at him. "You're the only one who doesn't know it's true meaning. Even your sister knows. Everyone has a part to play. What is important is to find it. The one thing you can do."

Once again, Yubel had turned towards her, and their eyes meet in a non-vocalized sentence. 'Isn't that right, Tara?' Yubel instead said with her eyes, and Tara nodded instantly. She had actually figured out the true meaning of the sentence 'without the king and guardian rein' part. Not that it mattered much now.

"Believe Jaden! You are not alone. Believe in your sister and your own power. I know you will defeat him" Yubel said firmly before she disappeared.

Tara could see how her brother was hesitating, but in the end, he activated Neos Wiseman's effect from the grave. Since he was destroyed by battle, Jaden could remove Yubel from play to revive Neos back to his field in att mode.

"Give up already, Jaden Yuki. It is pointless. No matter how much you struggle, you cannot win!" Nightshroud said in a confident tone. Jaden just snort coldly.

"Soon, we'll leave this place. Soon, you will leave that place along with everyone else you've captured, including Tara," Tara could suddenly hear her brother utter. "Sure, earlier on, you proclaimed there were many things we couldn't pass through, but we have no choice but to move forward. All so we can open the doors to our own future!"

Tara looked shocked at her brother. Tears ran down her cheek. She couldn't believe her brother was still thinking of her and her safety besides everything else.

"You really just don't get it. Your sister is gone. Along with everyone else," Nightshroud then mocked. "You indeed have the strength to fight, but others don't. After all those things you did in the past, do you really think you can redeem yourself, by just defeating me? Is defeating me going to justify what you've done in the past? You let the king take over and killed your friends..."

"Don't you think I know that, Nightshroud?!" Jaden then suddenly screamed at the god and glared coldly at him. "Don't you think I already know what I have done is unforgivable?! Sure, I might not have been in control when it happened, but it still counts!"

Tara looked shocked at her brother as he lowered his head, tears running down his cheeks and his shoulders shaking with every sob. Nightshroud had really hit on Jaden's darkness in his heart.

"I've done worst things than you could ever imagine! I've seen my friends suffer and vanish right in front of my eyes! All because I wouldn't listen to them! All because I was selfish! Because of me, they were in constant danger, and because of me, Tara - my own sister, and practically the only family I've got left - had to witness me do terrible things to so many others every night! Every time I even close my eyes, I can still hear all the screams of those I sent to the stars! I hear them even now - more screams than anyone could EVER be able to count, and they only get louder every day I try to shut them out! That's something I have to live with every single day for the rest of my damned LIFE!"

Tara was still looking shocked at the display in front of her, and her brothers heart filled cry in front of her. She knew Jaden had been going through a severely rough patch ever since they came back from the other dimension, but she had never known how hard it had actually been on him. Sure, her path wasn't much better, but now that she thought about it, they had never talked about their experiences to each other, and Tara felt terrible about it. She could've been more there for him. She should have been more there for him.

A hand touched her shoulder, and Tara turned around to see Haou behind her. His expression was still as cold as ice, but Tara was sure she saw regret and guilt in his eyes. He was after all the main reason why both of them were still traumatized. They could hear Nightshroud chuckle evilly now. He clearly believed he had won now.

"But do you know what I do with all this pain?" Jaden then asked and were suddenly staring coldly at Nightshroud. Both Haou and Tara turned their attention to Jaden as well. "Shall I tell you what I do with it? I hold it tight, in the palm of my hand, until it starts to burn. To remind me that none of what happened to me will ever happen again! I may have spent a lot of weeks and months wishing I could take it all back, but at the same time I swore to myself that day, that I won't let anyone else live with what I went through. I won't let anyone else live through the same pain. Not now! NOT EVER!"

Tara eyes lit up in a big smile now. Even though tears were still falling down her cheeks, she was smiling. How could she not, when Jaden's speech was so filled with hope?

Tara froze as soon as the thought entered her mind. Hope...that was it. That is the reason I am...

She turned towards Haou and could see the king nod in agreement. He knew of course what she was thinking of. Now only one thing was difficult, and that was making her brother aware of her plan.

"That's why you don't understand, Nightshroud. All I can do is believe!" Jaden then said and got Tara's attention once again. She had flown down beside her brother in hope that he would notice her. That didn't seem to be the case. At least not yet.

"All you can do is believe?" Nightshroud questioned in disbelief.

"The belief in our cards and our bond will never leave us all alone," Jaden then continued. "Friends fighting, and friends cheering. It's a bond that can't be cut off by anything. Because our favorite cards holds an undeniable power."

Tara could see her brother hold out two cards, which were pointed directly at Nightshroud now. The first one was, of course, Elemental HERO Neos. That came to no surprise to Tara since that card had been through thick and thin with Jaden, even through the worst of times. However, the second card did surprise her big time, since that card was Cyber Tech Alligator. Tara must admit she was rather speechless, and it didn't help that Jaden turned his head towards her and was sending her a big smile. Or at least Tara thought that smile was to her. Could he actually see her?

"Isn't that right Tara?!" Jaden then said and smiled. He then turned towards Nightshroud once again. "I may not be able to see or talk to her at all, but I can still feel her. She is right here beside me."

"That's impossible. She shouldn't be able to...".

"But it is true! Our bond is stronger than any of your powers!" Jaden sneered back.

Once again, his gaze were looking in that direction where Tara was supposed to be. Tara bit her lip a little. There was only one true way they could communicate.

"Jaden, can you hear me? I need your help in saving the others," she then said through their mind link.

"I am here Tara. What do you need?" Her brother asked right away.

"You! I need you to make everyone believe in hope again. You are the only one who didn't submit to the darkness. You are the only one who can do it" She urged on.

"How? There is no way I can reach them from here" Jaden responded.

"That is what I am there for" Tara said and smiled "Remember Yubel said everyone has a part to play. This here is my part. We are one".

Jaden looked concerned for a moment, but then he nodded. Tara couldn't explain why, but she knew Jaden knew of her plan. Maybe that was why he looked so concerned?

"Just promise me you will return back here" Her brother then said.

"I will" Tara replied and turned to Haou beside her. '

The darkness king nodded and they both flew into the sphere Nightshroud. There she prepared herself, as her brothers voice ran through her and she repeated his words. In her hand she was holding her card. Her favorite 'Cyber tech alligator'. She was after all Tara Yuki, brother to Jaden Yuki, and the named shooting star card. She was not gonna give up hope. Not now! Not ever!

Normal's p.o.v.

(A,N: I found it important to share with you what song actually inspired me for this boss battle. I find it fitting for the whole duel, but you can decide that for yourself if you want. I post the song below if you feel like listening to it while reading. Of course your own choice will not force you or anything :D)

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

"Everyone, can you hear me?! Can my voice reach you? Look, I know there is a card you grasp. Just one is fine. You should all have one who is your favorite! Using that card, remember the memories it holds, when you fought with it. A first is properly just a plain card without anything special. Though when you began using that card, you remembered the sorrow and joy that was shared between you and your love ones. Anger and hatred when you fought and lost. All those memories and emotions were absorbed by that card. That is the history of your efforts. That is what we call a bond! So believe in it! Remember that card! The faces of those you fought with those cards. Those are our truest friends! When true times comes, if we believe in our cards that support our future. Remember! We have never been alone! Don't fret over the future! We haven't really carried out anything yet, have we?!".

The voices of the twins ran through the sphere as an echo. All thanks to Tara and Haou. They connected with the darkness in here, and thereby freeing Tara. Thereafter she was as a transmitter to everyone in the sphere, as Jaden's words reached them all.

Chazz was one of the first ones to hear it, as he drew 'Ojama Yellow' once more. He stopped up and looked at the card, then he remembered. That's right. We haven't carried through with anything yet. We have no reason to fear the future, right Jaden?! Tara?! Even if I lose, I just need to try again! And with that resolve he faced his opponent once more.

Syrus was still in the pro league he wanted to build with his brother. It was still not going well, but then light emitted from Syrus's deck and he drew out 'Power bond'. His eyes widened as he remembered. I heard it. Jaden! Tara! That's right. I remember all these things we did with those card. He turned towards the boy who was about to leave their pro league.

"Please wait. No matter what the place is, let's do it! Let's have a great duel!" he yelled confidentially to the boy.

Alexis, who was still in despair over that the drop out students wouldn't listen, stopped surprised up as she heard a familiar voice. The twins voices, but Jaden's voice particular caught her interest. The card 'Double pace' was in her hand, and she remembered the duel with her and Jaden, and the events that followed afterwards. A little blush appeared on her face as well. I know, as long as I have these cards, we always have friends fighting alongside us. Especially Jaden, who has won my heart. Thank you, Jaden! She turned towards the drop out students who were sitting bored at their seats. Alexis cleared her throat.

"Speaking of drop out students. I know a drop out student who has never given up" she began and smiled "Let me tell you about a drop out student named Jaden Yuki".

"We know that no matter what, we will never be alone!".

Sartorius looked around in the sphere as light emitting everywhere around the cards, as people were leaving the sphere of Nightshroud's darkness. People were once again believing in hope and had the will to live. All thanks to the twins, Tara and Jaden Yuki. The former fortuneteller smiled a little smile as he sank down in the darkness once again. Now he could finally rest here forever. Now he had repaid his sins. He closed his eyes and waited for when he became one with this darkness. It never came however. All Sartorius felt was a hand touching him.

Seto Kaiba, the former CEO of Kaiba cooperation sighed deeply. Just like Sartorius he felt no reason to come back to the real world. Unlike the others who were leaving this sphere. Why should he leave? He had no reason for living. He had no family. The love of his life was dead, he had no true friends, and her supposed kids didn't want anything to do with him. Why should he go back then? All he had was his work, but it was not like Mokuba could take over. No he could just lie here and sink into the darkness and be forgotten. No one would miss him anyway. He closed his eyes and waited for his inevitable fate. It never came. A hand pulled him out of his misery, as he was staring at a black armored figure, and Sartorius, who looked just as surprised as he was. Haou, the king of the gentle darkness was staring at them. Where Kaiba knew it was him, he couldn't explain. He just knew it was the king his daughter had merged with. As unbelieve as it sounded.

"You two are such fools" Haou snort out in a cold tone.

"What?!" both males shouted in unison. Haou snort coldly back at them. He had a tight grip in the both of them, as he began leaving the sphere.

"What are you doing? Let me go" both Kaiba and Sartorius managed to scream in unison as they were fighting like crazy to escape the king's grip.

"Hmpf no! You two are coming with me back to the real world!" Haou replied firmly. Both Sartorius and Kaiba looked at him in disbelief.

"Why? There is no reason for me to return" Kaiba sneered.

"Yeah what he said" Sartorius uttered as well. "Just leave us here... king...".

"I said NO!" Haou sneered and now looked at both of them with cold eyes "You two are such fools. To me, it doesn't matter if you die in self-pity, but to Her, that's a different story. Tara would never forgive herself if you two got swallowed up".

"You are doing this for Tara?" Sartorius questioned rather confused. Kaiba only looked down at his feet's as his daughters name was mentioned. Sartorius continued "Why does she not get us herself? It is bad enough the twins saved me, but now the gentle darkness king is making me owe him. What a disgrace!".

Haou snort ones more and sent Sartorius a cold glare that made him shut up pretty quickly.

"She doesn't have the time" the king then said slowly. He actually looked worried.

"Why? What is she doing?" Kaiba questioned quickly. Haou sent him a cold look as well, and it seemed like he first wouldn't answer, but then...

"She is saving them! The three of them who got consumed most by His powers" the king said "And most of all, Her boyfriend. Zane Truesdale".

Tara's p.o.v.

Tara was back at the place where she had been captured and was staring down the pedestal Zane, her boyfriend was sitting at. Yusuke and Atticus had already left. They had been easy to convince, or Atticus had, and because of him, he convinced Yusuke to leave as well, which only left Zane in this dark ocean. Tara bit her lip a little. After she had been witnessing her Boyfriends darkness in his heart, she knew he hadn't believed in hope. He was not like the others, and Tara was actually agreeing on when Nightshroud had said that Zane had an evil heart. He was left in deep despair and misery, and worse of all, it was partly Tara's fault. Or it was her future self's fault. To be honest Tara had no clue on how to solve this. How could she, when she was partly her fault this was happening in the first place? She sighed deeply. She needed to come up with something before time was running out. Nightshroud would surely not let her free everyone in here for long. That was at least what she was thinking if she was an evil darkness god. She needed to do something here, but what?! Light suddenly glowed and a roar emitted around her. Tara looked stunned around, but then she noticed the glowing card in Zane's hand. The monster card "Cyber end dragon". The dragon roared again. It was like it told Tara to get closer and do something about it. To save Zane! So that was what she did. She swam over to him, placed her forehead at Zane's, closed her eyes and were touching the cyber end dragon card.

"Bring me to him" she then whispered, and light emitted all around her.

Tara soon found herself in utter complete darkness. Or that was at least how it felt at first. The scene got clearer and clearer, and soon it revealed a mountain top with a dojo present there. Tara was not sure where she was, but she figured it was a place who meant something to Zane. Why else would she be there? She therefore walked inside the dojo and walked down the empty corridors. No one seem to be in there at the first glance, but then Tara could hear a roar. A roar she was very familiar with. It was Cyber end dragon's once again. She of course followed it and were soon at giant main hall of the dojo. She could see a flag of Cyber end dragon on it, and at the shrine at the end, was Zane standing. He was staring with empty eyes at the flag, and it looked like he was succumbing more and more to the darkness in his heart. Tara sank a lump in her throat at the display in front of her. She needed to save Zane Now! If not, there might not be more left of him. She took some steps forward. As she did, Zane surprisingly heard her and turned around towards her. His eyes were still looking distant and depressed however.

"Are you here to torment me more Tara?" he hissed out in an emotional voice.

"Zane I... that wasn't me!" Tara defended "Nightshroud projected this image from the darkness of your heart.

You are afraid of losing me, and because of it, you will turn dark again. But nothing you have seen here is real! I will never do that to you Zane".

"Oh? How can I be sure of that? Maybe you are just tricking me, so you can kick me down later" he responded in a cold tone and turned towards the shrine once again "You claim to not be the one breaking my heart, and that might be true... for now. How can I be sure of that? How can you promise you won't leave me Tara?".

Tara looked stunned him. The sadness he was expressing, was so intense that Tara almost succumbed to it herself. But only almost. She took a deep breath and took a step forward. Then another one. The floor was twisting and sounded creaking. It was like it was about to break any minute now, which properly was the case, but Tara didn't case. As soon as she was at her boyfriends side, she grabbed his hand, the one who was holding Cyber end dragon, and made him look at her.

"I can't Zane! I can't promise you anything like that" she then replied and were looking him deep into his eyes. She could also see his shocked expression on his face, so she continued "Zane, no one of us knows what the future holds, and I know that might be scary. Many have that feeling somewhere in life, and sadly we can't do anything about it. Surely one of the reasons you got sucked in here in the first place".

She could see Zane look at her with bewildered eyes, so she quickly send him a reassuring smile and took his other hand in hers. They were standing like that for a while. Just letting the sound of the breathing be the only sound in here.

"However, there is always a bright side to it. Not knowing what in store, gives lives surprises. Making our life interesting so to speak" Tara then said and smiled a little. "I don't know if we stay together forever until we die Zane. We might, we might not. However, I am having the courage to try, what about you? If it doesn't work, then we will take that problem when it comes. If it ever comes! Like I said, we don't know what the future holds for us. Are you with me on this Zane?".

That didn't seem to be the case though. Zane had a scared expression on his face, and doubt were shown in his eyes.

"Tara I... I don't know" Her boyfriend admitted then slowly "I... I don't want to have my heart broken...Again".

The last word was a whisper. A reminder to her and himself over that in this world, he already had his heart broken once. Tara sighed a little at that. She needed another perspective on this. She looked around in the dojo.

"So is this the famous Cyber Dojo Makoto spoke up?" she then asked. Zane nodded slowly.

"Yes, I trained here. By chancellor Shepard. He trained me in the cyber dueling style".

"That is pretty sweet! Can't wait to see this place in the real world" Tara replied and smiled again "We can do that, when we graduate". Zane looked emotionally at her.

"I don't think I will come back Tara. To the Real world. I don't belong there. I hurt too many people...". He was about to say more, but Tara wouldn't let him.

"And many people will be sad if you didn't come back you know! Including me!" she replied firmly and made Zane look surprised at her. She looked around at the Dojo. "Why did you even pick this place Zane? What is keeping you here?". Zane bit his lip a little.

"I have... memories here" he then whispered, "It feels like it is the only fortress between me and the darkness....". Tara nodded understanding. She had let go of his hands too.

"In reality you don't want to be here Zane, and you know it. You want to return to your friends and family, and don't deny it!" she then said firmly. Zane sighed deeply.

"Yeah it is true, but I don't think I have many friends, if we ever break up again. They will all leave me and side with you because...".

"Now you are being silly Zane!" Tara said in a firm tone and stared coldly at him. "Sure, my brother with always side with me, but you have other friends. You have Syrus! You have Atticus and Yusuke too, if you remember him. I know for a fact that Atticus will go through great length to save you from whatever problem you are having. . So please let him Zane. No one can help you down here. Try living in the real world!".

Zane looked in distress at her. He seemed to have a hard time deciding what he should do. Tara took the opportunity to say something more. Anything to save Zane from this depressed state.

"Zane please trust me" she then whispered slowly "I love you, and I want to spend time with you. Please let me! Let's return to the real world!".

She was holding a hand out towards Zane and expected him to take it. If he did, they would return back home. Back to Duel academy. If not... Tara hoped that never happened. With shaky hands, Zane lifted one of his hands and were holding it over Tara's in a hesitating gesture. Tara was holding her breath and were hoping Zane made the right choice. At least in her opinion. A hand soon where holding hers, and a victorious roar could be heard from Cyber end dragon. It was apparently happy for its masters decision. Zane looked at her, with less lifeless eyes too.

"I love you too Tara. Let's return!" he said before the light developed them.

Jaden's p.o.v.

Light was the first thing Jaden noticed, and it soon became many. Billions and billions of lights were falling down from the sky, as shooting stars. All of them had flown out of Nightshroud's world, and it surprised both the skeleton god and Jaden. Although they both soon changed their expressions. Nightshroud looked rather pissed at Jaden, and Jaden was not smirking victorious back at him. We have done it! Tara's plan worked! She is truly a shooting star people are wishing on. I knew you could do it sis. I am so proud of you!

"What the...? NO! this can't be happening!" Nightshroud then suddenly uttered as the light fell down around them. "You shouldn't be able to reach them!".

Jaden send the god a triumphantly smirk now, as people appeared all around the world now. With all those light beams in the sky, it couldn't mean anything else. Jaden knew the inhabitants on earth were back where they all belong. Like how Alexis, Chazz and Syrus appeared at the main gate at the side line. Only few were missing. His sister was one of them, but Jaden didn't lose hope. He knew Tara would be back soon. She had after all promised him.

"You underestimated my sister Tara. She is stronger than you think. She made it possible for me to reach them" Jaden then informed the god.

"No! It is not possible! I made sure she was... I need to make sure she...".

"Doesn't escape?" Jaden interrupted and snort "Your games are over Nightshroud. You can't stop the prophecy from happening any more".

"We will see by that! I still have Zane Truesdale as bait" the darkness god replied firmly, and Jaden could see how the god build up his powers and pierced the sphere with it.

Clearly to try and stop his sister and her boyfriend from leaving. Jaden was not worried however. He believed Tara would prevail regardless what. It would happen any minute now. Both Nightshroud and Jaden was staring intensely at each other though. None of them was saying or giving an inch. They were just waiting.

In the meantime Banner had informed Chazz and students who could see spirits, about what had happened and that they had been taken by Nightshroud. The rumors quickly spread and soon everyone present there, was staring at the two duelists.

"Jaden!" Alexis uttered and was about to approach him, when Jaden firmly shook his head. They shouldn't approach him or this duel. Syrus looked puzzled around.

"Jay?! Where is Tara and my brother?" he then uttered.

"They are coming" Jaden just replied firmly.

"If you think they will escape me, like your foolish friends you are..." Began Nightshroud saying but was soon interrupted by a two lights who flew out of the sphere.

It didn't surprise Jaden when his sister appeared beside him. Zane was standing at the side line with the same cold demeanor. Now everything was back to normal. Or almost. They still needed to defeat Nightshroud.

"Looks like no one truly wanted to stay in your dark world Nightshroud" Jaden then told the god in front of him. He clenched his hands "You didn't just steal everyone's memories. You also stole our irreplaceable bonds. Or to be more precise, you wanted to split up Tara and I forever! To Our bond, and that is unforgivable!".

"You said it brother" Tara replied slowly.

She was once again having her cold demeanor on as well, since she once again were fused with Haou and her soul were back in her body. Jaden instinctually took and squeezed her hand. He was so happy she was back, as a living breathing person once again. He could never bear to lose her again, as he did that time in the duel with Sartorius at their second year. Seconds later he could feel Tara squeeze his hand as well. She didn't need to say anything at all. Jaden already knew what she wanted to express. That she didn't want to lose him as well. They were after all twins, and furthermore Jaden was actually the reincarnated king spoken in the prophecy, and Tara was his guardian, which fitted since Tara had protected him since they were little kids. It had never been about Haou or Yubel, since they had been revived by Nightshroud. The universe had balanced itself afterwards and they were the living example. That Jaden now knew.

"Let's finish what we started Tara. Together!" Jaden encouraged. Tara nodded determined and turned her cold gaze at Nightshroud. She was ready to beat him too.

"Ha! It doesn't matter that your sister came back Jaden Yuki" Nightshroud then said in a firm tone "As soon as it will be my turn, I will beat her once again and send her to my world". Jaden snort coldly at that.

"Well then I just have to win this turn" he replied.

"Together" Tara added in and placed a hand at his deck. Jaden couldn't keep himself from smiling, as he placed his hand beside hers now.

"Together" he repeated as they both drew.

Jaden and Tara was now both holding the spell card "Polymerization". Both of them thanked the deck and Tara activated her last face down. The trap "Hope for the future". Since one of them controlled an elemental Neos, one of them now could discard a polymerization card, they could then choose as many fusion materialize monster from either grave or deck and send them to the graveyard. They of course chose from Jaden's deck, and the twins soon send glow moss, Air humming bird, flare scarab, Aqua dolphin, and Grand mole to the graveyard along with Polymerization.

"By doing so, we can summon our own god" The twins said in unison.

"Wait! Your own god!" Nightshroud uttered in disbelief.

"That is right. By sending those 5 fusion material cards to our grave, along with Neos and Dark panther on our field, we will create the most ultimate contact fusion!" the twins yelled in unison once again. They clapped their hands together. It was like a fusion of their own. In some way like two halves joining together, and Jaden had never felt stronger. "We fusion summon 'E. H. Divine Neos!'".

As they shouted the last part, Neos and Dark panther jumped up in the air, along with 5 different colored light, that should resemble the other neo spacian's in the graveyard. Soon Neos had absorbed them all and transformed into a golden, white armored being, with giant golden wings. Divine Neos was also a powerful monster with an att at 3000 and 2500 def points. It was also having some special effects, who the twins of course activated together as well. By removing all the neo spacian in his grave from play, Divine Neos gained 500 att points, as well as absorb one of the removing neo spacians powers. Since they had removed 6 neo spacian's from the game, Divine Neos now had 6000 att points. Nightshroud was staring in disbelief at this powerful monster.

"Furthermore, we also activate the ability of flare scarab" Tara added in her own playful tone "That means that our Divine Neos also gains 400 points for every spell and trap card on the opponents field".

Jaden smirked for both of them as Divine Neos att points now reached 8400.

"No this can not be happening!" Nightshroud uttered.

"Go Divine Neos! Attack him with Legendary strike!" the twins shouted in unison again and made their monster attack Nightshroud.

The evil darkness god didn't stand a chance as the blast hit his monster and reduced his life points to 0. The light and blast Neos had generated, had created a shockwave even that made the bystanders run for cover, even though this wasn't real, or was it? The shockwave even blew off Nightshroud's hoodie, which made everyone around see his skeletons features, and showed just how horrendous grim reaper he really was. Or he really looked like one with those giant horns and bat shaped wings. Jaden just assumed that he was, because of his appearance. Nightshroud turned angrily towards them.

"Tara and Jaden Yuki! Though I indeed have lost to your cards and prophecy, my return is only haltered. I am a god and my soul will still linger" Nightshroud sneered angrily "But, as it stands, I have been vanquished by the prophecies chosen ones, and that I can't deny. However, my true form is the true ultimate darkness. I can easily be revived in this world once more!".

At that the twins turned towards each other. They were having a silent agreement here, and Jaden quickly turned towards Nightshroud once again.

"Even if that is true, as long as Tara and I am here... No as long as we duelists are here, we can continue to believe in our possibilities, your turn will never come" Jaden then responded with a firm look.

As he ended the speech, Nightshroud let out a terrifying scream, as he and the darkness sphere exploded, and revealed the sunny afternoon once again.

A,N: Well that was the final end to the boss battle. But luckily that doesn't mean the Gx series is over yet. Graduation is still happening, and the twins have some interesting encounters. So there is still 2 chapters or so until I am done. So I hope you are looking forward to it. Sadly, I don't know how to start it as of yet, so will update some of my other stories for a while. However, hope you liked it so far. Please comment on what you think. Would love feedback. also a quick note, Jaden's speech to Nightshroud is made by RobertDimascio here on Q. He had been a great help in the story and my depression. Also he makes awesome stories as well. so check out his profile if you like.
