A,N: Sorry for the long wait. As a little info, Jaden's friends doesn't know he is possessed by the king. Only Tara knows. They only think that he has changed to the worse.

Syrus's p.o.v.

Jaden and Syrus was dueling. It was one of these things they did on regular basis. Actually Sy was sure it in something that was their thing. Jaden did after all love to duel, and as Jaden's best friend, Syrus couldn't refuge to duel him. Secondly it was really fun too.

"Elemental hero tempest attack!" Jaden said and attacked with his monster and destroyed Syrus's steamroid, and wiped out his life points in the process. Syrus got blasted to the floor. However he was quick on his feets, smiling like hell at Jaden.

"Oh well, a deal is a deal. Guess I am doing your laundry this weak, but you have earned it. That comeback was awesome. You were just sitting there and then..BAM I got blasted" Syrus told him. Jaden grinned at him and walked over to him. He helped him up as well.

"Well that is why they call it a comeback Sy" Jaden told him and grinned. "So good duel?".

"Yeah good duel" Syrus replied and looked at Jaden. "Expect something doesn't feel right".

"Um you hungry?" Jaden questioned. Syrus looked at him.

"Um no, like we have done this before. Like dejavu" he told him. Jaden grinned.

"Oh you are really hungry. Maybe if we sneak down into the cafeteria, we can get some food. That unless my sister has eaten all of it" Jaden said. Syrus grinned.

"Yeah she would do that" He commented "Let's get some food then". Jaden nodded and laughed a little. Syrus did the same thing. Then suddenly he began to cry. Tears were falling down his cheeks. Syrus wondered why. Then the image began getting all weird and..

Syrus walked up when a drop of water from the cave he was using, fell down on his cheek. He was gasping for air and then looked around.

"Oh yeah we both got really upset at Jaden for dueling" He said "Me and Ember". He could remember the worlds he said to him. "This is all your fault Jaden! That our friends are gone, and the constant danger! You let us here, just so you could feel better. So you could find Jesse right?! But he is gone! Just like everyone else". Syrus didn't regret that he had said that. Jaden had let them in constant danger after all. However at first, it really looked like he dueled all these monsters just to protect them. The duel with Scarr was surfacing in his mind right now. However after that, his duels began putting them all in danger. The duel with Zure was surfacing now. It had been a close call and if sir Freed hadn't shown up, Syrus was not sure what could have happened. Would Jaden had lost? Would he have been their prisoner? And what about them? Syrus shook his head. He really didn't want to think about it. Then the duel with Brron was in his head. Or that part he saw together with Ember. That part where his friends, Atticus, Hassleberry, and Alexis got sent away to the stars. It had been a terrified experience. That and seeing Jaden duel with anger and destruction. He just couldn't stand it. His best friend had changed. Jaden had always been there for them, but that was of course before they ended up in that world. He just couldn't believe he didn't care any longer. Maybe that was who Jaden really was?

"I doubt I ever see the real Jaden ever again" Syrus said and the doubt symbol was shown on his cheek. However he got up from his bed, who was made out of his backpack and an old blanket. He looked around.

"Ember? Are you awake? Is it time to get going?" He asked. They both had recently decided to travel together. Mostly because they both were alone and had the same doubt about Jaden, but Syrus didn't care. She was a good friend. However when he looked at that place, where Ember went to rest last night, he found the place completely empty. However on one of the rocks a note was lying there. Syrus got up and walked over there to read it.

Dear Syrus!

I am sorry! I have decided to travel on my own for now on. It had nothing to do with you and stuff. It is just that I need to find my boyfriend Jesse, and last time we were looking for him, Jaden brought us all in danger. I don't want to be that kind of person. I don't want to bring you in danger Sy. So I am sadly leaving you behind. Please don't take this personal. I left half of the food we got from some villages a while ago and you are free to do with it whatever you feel is right. Once again I am sorry. However I have this weird feeling this is not our last meeting. Take good care. Ember.

Syrus looked shocked at the paper. He had to read it at least twice before it's words sank into his head. She had left him behind. Syrus sighed. Well that was nothing new. Zane had in the past given up on him as well. Now he was properly gonna be alone forever. Suddenly a scream filled the air.

"Or maybe not" Syrus said. He knew that voice. He rushed out of the cave and saw a yellow spirit in a red bikini being taken by the river's water current. Ojama yellow screamed up. It was a weak spirit, so it was not strong enough to resist the currents.

"Ah someone save me" He yelled and splashed around "I can't swim". Syrus rushed down the river side after him, and when a bridge made out of big stones in the water, Sy climbed up on one of them and tried to reach him. However in the end he couldn't and he jumped in the river instead. There he found out the current wasn't to hard for him. He pulled out Yellow and tossed him up on one of the stones. He shortly followed. The little Ojama looked at his rescuer.

"Sy, is that you?" He asked in disbelief. Syrus nodded.

"Why is it that you are not with your brothers or Chazz" he questioned. The little Ojama began crying and slammed it's small fists at the stone.

"Oh Sy it is so terrible. It is such a sad story" He said with tears floating out of his eyes. Soon after the little spirit also hugged him.

"Um so are you gonna tell me or what?" Syrus asked. The little spirit nodded and began telling everything.

Ember's p.o.v.

Ember was walking around in the dark world all by herself. She was right now in a hilly forest with few boulders around at some places as well. There were a few lakes there as well. Ember had seen a waterfall some couple of kilometers away. She had been drinking a little there. Ember was after a while always looking back over her shoulder and sighed. She felt pretty guilty over leaving him behind. She liked Syrus. He was a good innocent boy, she saw as one of her friends. Traveling with him was actually quite fun. However she also wanted to find Jesse, and therefore left him behind. She was still angry at Jaden for making their friends disappear. Secondly she was still a little jealous. She had seen him duel with such power she only could dream of. She was of course not happy about how merciless he had been dueling, but the power to duel.. the power to never give up regardless what, was something she wished she had as well. She still envied Jaden like hell and had not regretted what she had told him. That he was a coward and no hero at all. Only a shadow of a hero and she would be an even better hero than him. She didn't want to be like Jaden sacrificing his friends to find Jesse, so she had left Syrus. She just hoped he was gonna be okay. Ember took a deep breath. She had just climbed a steep hill and was not standing at a little lake surrounded by some grassy field and trees of course. Ember bowed down at the lake and began to drink some water. She had learned to appreciate important things in life. Like water or food. Who knows when she would find water or food ever again. She took out a water bottle she had taken with her from duel academy. She filled it with water and took a quick rest. She was not sure about the time of day, because the only light they had was from the comet. Ember had never seen a day where it was not glowing. So she had no idea about the time at all. However she placed her at the grassy field and let out a big sigh. Then suddenly a little light appeared and the bird warrior Haya appeared behind her. It kneeled down like a real knight before it talked to her. Ember had asked it to stop doing that, but that was one of the things the bird spirit insisted on.

"My lady, was this a wise choice to leave the boy behind?" He asked. Ember sighed.

"I am not sure Haya, but well I had to make one and we can't go back now can we?" she asked the spirit. Haya squeaked a little and nodded.

"I am not sure we can return, even if we did my lady, the boy will properly have gone by now"He said and got up from the ground "Are you not sure I shall accomplice you on your journey?".Ember smiled and nodded. Haya was so sweet.

"Yes I am sure. Your armor is making to much noise to sneak around here in this world and it also makes all the animals aware I am here" She said "It is not easy to get something to eat". Haya sighed deeply and nodded.

"As you wish my lady. If you ever need me however, don't hesitate in calling me" then the bird warrior disappeared. Ember sighed. Spirits could be overprotective sometimes. She sighed again. She had rested enough for now. She got up when she suddenly could hear voices. Ember was not sure why, but she had a feeling she needed to find out whose it was. She couldn't explain it. Normally she would never go near anything who in some way could be dangerous, and that was mostly everything in this world. She was also not fond of meeting strangers at all. However for some reason she walked towards the voices.

The closer she came to the voices the easier it was for her to hear them. She had figured out it was two different voices. A male's voice and another one. Ember thought maybe it was one of the monsters in this world. She had heard some of the fiends talking in a village once after all. They sounded weird. She walked closer and now she could hear what they were talking about. She quickly hid somewhere.

"It has finally begun. HE has finally awoken".

"I can't believe you did that to him. I can't believe you are doing this to my best friend. Forcing me to watch and do nothing, when he need me the most" the male voice said "So let me go so I can kick your sorry butt and help Jaden". Jaden?! Someone who knew Jaden? Ember couldn't believe it. Was there someone she knew?

"You will do no such thing boy, or actually you can't do a thing. You are only my little plaything, my tool of vengeance and are nothing more". The male voice sneered. Ember's heart was beating pretty fast. A person who knew Jaden and wanted to help him, but couldn't. She really hoped this was not true. She walked a little closer and was hiding by each tree. The voices was still talking.

"Oh really, why are you keeping me conscious then. I will be less annoying, you can make your work done quickly and the two you seek would properly both be in your care then" the male voice. The other weird voice actually laughed a little.

"You amuse me. You really think there is no reasons behind that you are still awake. Jaden is not the only one who should be in pain. You will suffer as well. Seeing your best friend hurt when you can do nothing must hurt right Jesse. Hope you regret meddling". Ember couldn't take it anymore. Now that she knew it was Jesse, she couldn't wait a second later. She didn't care about the danger either.

"Jesse!" she yelled and rushed forward. She arrived at a little clearing. Not bigger than the one at the lake. She saw a cloaked person standing there all by himself. Ember stopped up and looked around. There were only one person in here, but she heard two? Has the other one left? She, hesitated, walking towards the person.

"Are.. you.. Jesse?" she said in a low voice almost a whisper. The cloaked person moved and was now standing with it's back towards her. Seconds later the hoody fell down and Ember could see some blue hair she could recognize everywhere. It was Jesse's blue hair. Then she could hear the person sigh.

"Ember.. you shouldn't.. have come here!" He said in a hesitating horse voice. Ember could however recognize it as Jesse's. Her Jesse's! She was so happy inside that she properly could jump several meters in the air. She couldn't stop smiling either.

"Jesse! You don't know how long we all have been looking for you" She said in a happy voice "I missed you! Um who were you talking to before hand? Has they left? It sounded like they hurt you". She took a step towards him.

"Ember.. please don't come any closer" he said but his voice was barely a whisper. Ember only catched it, because she was used to talk low in the first place. She looked confused at him and rushed over to him and gave him a big hug.

"Why should I leave? It took me so long time to find you. I am not gonna leave before I have seen your face and brought you home silly" she said. However then she noticed that he was shivering and clenching his fists a lot. She let go of him and looked puzzled at his actions. A sneering sound was coming from him.

"Leave your annoying girl" said a voice then suddenly and Ember noticed it was coming from Jesse's mouth. "I was trying to be nice, because Jesse would be more obedient if I spared your life, but I see now it is pointless. However at least he will feel a lot of pain, when he realises, that he killed you with his own two hands". Ember looked shocked when the person she thought was Jesse turned around and looked at her. A terrified sight was shown. It was Jesse's body. It was his hair, face and own hands, but his eyes were not. Instead of his normal green colored eyes, a pair of cold, almost lifeless bright dark orange eyes were looking at her. That is not my Jesse! She wanted to leave, but her body was frozen in place. A dark aura was shown around his hands when he grabbed her neck and lifted her up like she was nothing more like a doll. Jesse was grinning maliciously at her when he made her suffocate.

"Yes I sadly has to kill you now.. Ember was it? Now you can tell no one that Jesse is alive. Especially not my dear Jaden!" said the one who pretended to be Jesse. Ember looked shocked at this weird Jesse and tears was floating down her cheeks.

"Jesse" she got out "I.. love you". Then she slowly began closing her eyes.

"No!!" yelled another voice and she felt the grip around her neck loosen. She fell down to the ground coughing like hell. She was rubbing her rear end as well.

"Ember I am so sorry" said a new voice "Oh I had almost killed you. My beloved Ember". Ember coughed a little and looked at the person in front of her. He was sitting down on his knees and was wiping his face. Tears was floating in the bright dark orange eyes. She was not sure what to say or do. The boy looked at her.

"Stay.. stay away from me" Ember yelled and backed slowly away. The boy sighed.

"Yes don't worry Em, I will do that. Yubel has a hold on me after all and I could never forgive myself if I hurt you in anyway" he said and rubbed his head. Ember looked at him. The dark aura had gone. Secondly he had called her Em. It was a nickname he rarely used, since Ember was not so thrilled off it. Then she remembered what he just had said. The name Yubel! As in Yubel who was Jaden's childhood spirit!

"Jesse?" she said slowly "Are you my Jesse? Proof it!". Jesse looked surprised at her.

"When we were children, we played catch and you tripped and hit your left knee.."

"Jesse!" said Ember and interrupted him. She gave him a big hug. Jesse looked shocked. He tried to make her loosen her grip, but in the end, he hugged her back.

"Ember, I am dangerous to you.. please leave. I am keeping her away with my will, but it is only a matter of time before she breaks it" Jesse said in a weak tone. Ember let slowly go of him. She looked angry.

"Yubel! Leave him! Leave my Jesse alone! What have he ever done you?" She yelled a little brave. Jesse's body shivered a little and he backed away from her.

"Ember don't.. make her more angry" Jesse said and bit his lip in pain "She hates me for taking Jaden from her.. Ember leave NOW!". Jesse got up and was tottering around while grabbing around his own head. He was yelling a little too.

"But Jesse.. I can't leave you like this. Break free from her! You are stronger than she right?!" she yelled back "How can I help you?".

"You can't.. I can't.. for now.. Ember leave, she already have the.. crystal beasts under her control.. I will soon follow" He said and a little dark aura was shown "RUN NOW!". Ember didn't think twice. She had to go. She didn't want to suffocate or other thing again. She took a last look at her Jesse.

"I will find a way to save you Jesse!" she yelled "Just wait a little". Then she rushed away as fast as she could.

Time skip.

She was running and running as fast as she could, while tears were falling down her cheeks. Jesse! Her beloved Jesse was alive, but was reduced to this. Yubel's new body. Hasn't Marcel been enough for her? Apparently not. Ember just wished she could have done something for Jesse. However instead she had been running away. She valued her life more than Jesse. She sneered. Words was suffering inside her mind now. She was just a coward and no hero at all. Only a shadow of a hero. Ember let out a cry. She wasn't better than Jaden! Maybe she had been to hard on him? Ember was not sure about it. She wiped some of her tears away and stopped up. She was at a crossroad. One with two paths. Ember could remember one of them lead down beside the waterfall. The other.. Ember was not sure. However she couldn't remember which one of the roads where the right one. Suddenly she could hear sneering sounds. Like a wild animal on the hunt. She didn't have the time to think. She took the left path. She rushed down the road. However later she found out she had taken the wrong path. It was a steep hill upwards towards something. She just hoped it lead towards a place where she could hide. Minutes later she found out she was not even that lucky. She was at a dead end, or a giant flood with a waterfall was in the way. Ember cursed herself. She was at that top of the waterfall she saw some time earlier. Ember had to go back. A growl could be heard behind her and Ember froze. She slowly turned toward it and was face to face with a tiger of some sort. However it was not just a normal tiger. It was a tiger she was very familiar with.

"Topaz.. is that you?" She said slowly and took a step backwards, so she was at the edge of waterfall. The tiger growled again and Ember noticed the change on the tiger. It had more dark color in it's fur and was having black armor on it's feets, tail. It had a evil look in it's eyes. Ember looked in horror. She remembered Jesse saying Yubel had the crystal beast under her control. Now Ember knew what he meant. A new voice hissed and a cat appeared as well. It was Amethyst Cat and like the tiger it had changed as well and had armor and dark colored fur. Another scream followed and Ember got hit by some claws. She placed her arms up in defence and noticed a Eagle attacking her. Cobalt eagle! A little while later the eagle landed beside the other two beasts. Ember looked in horror. She didn't know what to do. In front of her the beast and behind her the waterfall.

"Nowhere to run Ember!" said a new voice and a person was walking towards her. Jesse or in this case Yubel, since Jesse would never smile that evilly, was standing beside the crystal beasts. She was grinning as well.

"You are making this hunt to easy" she said in Jesse's voice "If you had taken the other path Pegasus and Mammoth could have had some fun". Ember sneered.

"Let.. let my Jesse go now" she said in a low voice. Jesse looked at her.

"I am sorry I didn't hear what you were saying" She said in a mocking tone.

"Leave Jesse alone!" She yelled "Stop possessing people!". Yubel looked at her and smirked evilly. Then she laughed a little.

"You are in no positions to make demands Ember" She said "So what to do with you? I could kill you, but that satisfaction is over to quick. Keeping you alive would be of trouble as well, but keep you prisoner could be fun as well, since Tara my favorite plaything is not around. Are you as strong willed as she?". Ember clenched her fist and looked at the water behind her. No wonder Jaden tried to get rid of Yubel as a kid. She never thought a spirit could be insane, but Yubel had just shown her differently. She had completely lost her sanity. Ember looked at her Jesse one more time. She couldn't stop smiling just a little.

"Jesse I love you" She said quickly "I know this is properly foolish, but you have shown me courage. Hope you can hear me at least. Whatever plans Yubel have with me I am not gonna find out. If there is a slim chance I survive, I will find someone to help you. Goodbye Jesse". Ember had tears in her eyes. She took a last look and then jumped into the water and down the waterfall. She just hoped she survived.

Syrus's p.o.v.

".. and then Jaden told Chazz to hang tight" Ojama concluded and ate a little piece of a berry "Before he turned to stardust together with my two brothers. I accepted my fate with dignity". Syrus looked at the little Ojama. They were sitting at the riverside. Yellow had told Syrus the whole story and Syrus couldn't believe it. Chazz had also been sacrificed! Oh man it really looks like Chazz, gave Jaden a piece of his mind. I mean for Jaden just to stand there and let it all happen. He doesn't really care about us as his friends anymore! They are all gone and it is Jaden's fault! He really has changed and I don't think we'll ever get the Jaden we know back.

"So um what's our plan boss?" Ojama Yellow asked "What are we gonna do now? I have no idea where Axel and that guy with the alligator are. Speaking of which, do you know where we are? Maybe we should go out and find Jaden?". Syrus sneered.

"Never say that name ever again!" He yelled angry and made the little spirit so scared that he fell of the boulder he was sitting at. Syrus instantly regretted it.

"Oh I am sorry. It is just we are not friends. At least not any longer" He told the Ojama "He risked us all to find Jesse, just so he could feel better about himself. With friends like him.. who needs friends anyway. Starting right now the only thing Syrus cares about is Syrus!". He got determined up and walked away. Not sure where he was going, but he just didn't want to be here right now. Ojama Yellow tried to follow him, but Syrus didn't want him to tag along.

At a little mountain Syrus was standing, looking down on this dark creepy world. He clenched his fists and decided not to be scared. Here begins the big Saga of Syrus. I am stranded in a creepy dark world and never, ever, ever thinking about Jaden ever! However as he said that pictures emerges inside his head. A picture of Jaden was shown. He was smiling happily at Syrus.

"You will never get rid of me that easily Sy. We have been friends far too long buddy". Syrus shook his head and got the image out of his head. However soon after another one showed up. Seeing Jaden at that time he wanted to leave duel academy on a raft. Jaden that kept telling him"Friends don't give up friends! They stick together, even when things are rough". Syrus sneered. Another image hit him with Jaden. Here's the thing Sy, anyone can make a comeback, no matter how low they dropped. A duel isn't over until the last card is played. You gotta keep it together to the very end. You gotta believe! Syrus sneered angry and shook his head.

"Jaden! You are the one who forgot about all his friends. I am not the one who gave up Jaden. You are!" He said and punched the air. He noticed his duel disk and came to that solution that if he gave up dueling there will be no more dueling. He took of his disk and tossed it away from the cliff. It landed somewhere inside the woods.

"Well that should take care of that" Syrus said.

Time skip.

Syrus was walking around in the woods by himself, thinking he was actually okay being alone. That until a loud crash could be heard and a lot of dust could be seen. Syrus had just climbed up in a tree to get a view over what was happening. He saw a giant insect monster roaming around in the woods, hunting down small fry monsters for his lunch. It looked like a giant centipede with sharp fangs and legs. Syrus gulped. He was properly also a small fry since the monster was 5 times bigger than himself. Syrus knew that monster as "Doom dozer" at the duel monster cards. When the monster had left the area, Syrus was going to run for it. That until he heard a squeaky voice a little away. Syrus froze. Oh no that couldn't be.. could it?! He rushed towards the scream and found Ojama yellow getting chased by Dozer. He quickly wanted to come to the rescue, but then realises he has no duel disk any longer. Ups!

Ember's p.o.v.

She had survived!! Ember didn't know how and didn't care why. However she had somehow miraculously survived the waterfall. Now Ember fought against the water current. She of course got hurt pretty badly, but for the same reason as surviving the waterfall, she never drowned. She felt like it was someone who kept her up afloat. Someone who protected her, but she was too tired and dizzy that she bothered looking around. She was coughing like hell, when the water filled her lungs and she was barely conscious. She also didn't know where she was or how long she had been here. She only knew that the current was moving her around in the splashing water. As a miracle, she felt something lifting her up from the water and she hit a shore somewhere. She was still coughing. Still dizzy and about to pass out. She was sure she saw some shadow hovering over her, before she passed out completely. She was just so relieved to be free from the water. She also had no more strength left.

Syrus's p.o.v.

Syrus looked dumbstruck at his arm. Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to toss away his duel disk. Doom dozer hasn't noticed him yet either. It had chased Yellow into a small hole where he was hiding for the big monster for now, but Syrus knew it was only a matter of time until the monster somehow got his claws at him. Syrus didn't think any longer. He took a couple of stones and tossed it at the big monster.

"Hey you big ugly insect" He yelled "What about chasing someone at your own size". He tossed another stone and told Yellow to run for it when he got his attention. That didn't take very long. After all no one likes being hit by pebbles in the head. The monster rushed towards Syrus and he kind of realises how many flaws his plan had. Now the big monster was after him! He was running for his life now. Syrus was amazed how fast he could run, but his luck didn't last long. He tripped, but even there he managed to get out of the way when the big monster tried to eat him. Now he was standing with his back at a tree, with nowhere to run, when something hit the big monster. Syrus's eyes widened. It was a ring of some sort. Was that a shock collar? He was not sure until electricity hit the monster and made it fall to the ground for some seconds. At a cliff a person in a cloak was standing and was looking down at Syrus and the giant insect. He could see that he had a duel disk on his arm. He wondered who that is?.

Aster's p.o.v.

Aster was wandering through the woods as well. Zane and him had split up for the time being to cover more ground. After that day Tara had left them, the two males had being searching almost non stop for her. Zane more than him, but maybe it was because Tara was his girlfriend. Aster was not fully sure, but he was determined to find her again. Hoping she really hadn't met the king yet and.. well Aster didn't want to think what could had happened to her. He just wanted to find her! He had a lot of questions for her as well. About her eyes and power she just used. He could remember Sartorius talking about a prophecy when he was under the influence of the light. He had been talking about that the twins was the chosen one from the prophecy and Aster was in some way believing him right now after seeing Tara's power up close. Aster looked at his hand and clenched it into a fist. He had never shivered from an opponent or anyone in his life. Not even "The D", when he was about to lose. However Tara's angry outburst had left him and Zane trembling with fear, and it had taken them half an hour to get over it. However first thing first. They needed to find her first and make sure she was okay first. He could always ask her after that. A sound was coming from the bushes. Two monster's appeared. His two monsters "Doom lord" and "Phoenix enforcer". He mostly used them to scouts. Being the most scary and dark monsters. It made every fiends scared in someway.

"Anything to report" He asked. The monsters to his surprise both nodded. They pointed in a direction. Aster looked puzzled at them, however he followed the two monsters and arrived soon after the riverside. A scary sight meet him there. Two creatures was lying there or at first Aster thought that. A giant bird with a lot of cuts and bloody parts of a body was lying on the ground and was hugging something Aster first thought as a knight, until he noticed the flame red and orange hair. His heart skipped a beat. It was Ember! He had only meet her recently, but being pro had it's fair share. He was good at memorising people and their faces. He could after all not forget all his trusted fans when they asked for autographs. He bowed down.

"Who's there?" said a squeaky weak voice and the bird moved weakly "You will not hurt my lady.. I will protect..". The bird gasped for air. Aster figured this must be Ember's spirit. He took of his hood and showed his face to the bird.

"No need to worry. I am a friend. I am from the duel academy. My name is Aster Phoenix. What happened?" He asked. The bird look weakly up and him and sighed relieved. Then without warning, the armor disappeared around Ember.

"I remember you. You talked to my lady at her first day.." He said and got the armor on "I saved my lady from the waterfall and would protect her until she was safe. Now I will return back to my card until she calls for me". Aster looked surprised.

"Hey wait.. do you want me to treat your wounds before leaving. You are badly hurt" he asked. The bird looked at him and actually smiled.

"A considerable human without the gift to see spirits. You have a real bonded master destiny heroes" he said and Aster saw his monsters actually nod once "You don't need to think of me boy. The spirit world heals me. Take care of her for me". Then the armored bird disappeared. Aster sighed and looked at Enforcer.

"Please carry her with you to our camp.." He slowly said and the hero nodded and lifted the unconscious girl up in it's arms. Then they left for the camp.

"Hmm wonder what Zane is doing" Aster wondered.

Zane's p.o.v.

Zane was busy. He was right now busy with saving his kid brother's life, although it had never occurred that he actually ever would do that again after his certain change. He had been wandering around in the woods looking for his beloved girlfriend and felt so damn angry over how much time passes. He hadn't the time and needed to find her quickly. He wanted to be with her before time.. before his time.. Zane placed a hand on his chest. He sighed deeply. He should have told her! He should have told her that about the king and about himself as well. However at that time when Tara was around him, he had been so happy that he for sometime forgot his own health. He just wanted to be with her. However now she had left and he kind of felt terrible. He wanted to apologize at least to her. And be with her and.. Zane shook his head. First find her, then think on what to do next. Then he had heard the crash of the big insect monster and rushed towards it. Mostly because he had heard Syrus's voice and scream. He was standing up at the cliff/hill and had just tossed his shock collar, he was hiding underneath his cloak, and hit the monster just in time before Syrus became lunch. He noticed that Syrus was staring at him, but Zane didn't have the time to talk, because Doom dozer was up on it's feets once again. Zane quickly made his duel disk ready and drew. His cards didn't let him down, since he was holding everything to summon his most powerful monster "Cyber end dragon". He quickly summoned the monster with his "powerbond" card. I have to destroy that thing so it doesn't bug out again.A fierce battle with the two monsters began, but the dragon in the end blasted it to shreds. However the blast was a little too powerful and sended Syrus into the tree. He quickly passed out.Oh no Syrus! Zane would have rushed down to him, if it wasn't for the fact that his heart was hurting a lot right now. He grabbed around his chest and tried to calm down. He noticed in the mean time that the little yellow Ojama had arrived beside Syrus, thanking for his help and began crying when Syrus passed out. Zane had finally arrived and the little spirit began slowly telling what had happened.

Ember's p.o.v.

Ember was sitting in a arm chair in the common room of the school. She was sitting close at the fireplace, but if she turned her head in the right position, she could look out of the big window showing outside. The first snow had been shown and almost everyone was outside in the cold playing. Either building snowmen, having snowball fight or other things. Ember was not so fond of the cold white flakes who was falling down from the sky, so she decided to be inside for the time being. She just wished she was not alone.

"There you are Ember! I have been looking for you all over the place" a voice said and Ember turned her head and saw Jesse. Her heart skipped a beat. He was dressed in a winter coat they got at the school. He was smiling at her. She sighed. Figured he had been outside. Jesse got his coat of and placed it on the chair. He looked at her.

"I should have known you were here. You are not so thrilled about snow" He said and grinned a little "So what are you reading?". He pointed at the magazines she was reading. Ember prefered the name comics. She loved music and a good superhero comic.

"Um the new Teen titans is out" she said "And Beast boy is so cute like always..". Ember covered her mouth and blushes. Jesse grinned and looked over the shoulder at the comic.

"Always wondered why you favorises him. I mean Robin is cooler" Jesse questioned. Ember didn't say anything. The truth was that she saw Beast boy a little like Jesse. Always with good humor. Trying to make her laugh and his abilities resembled his crystal beasts. Secondly he never let any friends hanging. Ember just smiled and changed the subject.

"Oh I just wish I could be a cool hero like beast boy" she said out loud "Then I could help him as well. Like that girl Terra. Although I am not gonna die". Jesse grin.

"I actually see you more like a side character. Maybe a side character hero" Jesse said and grabbed the comic "Look here. Terra can't control her powers, but Beast boy wants to help her because he loves her. He uses more effort to keep her safe since he is a main hero and she a side character. Without something to fight for.. without Terra, beast boy would not fight as hard..! without no one to fight for you will have no reason for living right". Ember looked confused and then everything around her began being blurry..

Ember woke slowly up to the smell of delicious food. Everything was warm and comfortable around her. The first things she realises was the big campfire. Then she noticed a person was looking at her and she actually yelled up a little. A hand was covering her mouth and Ember looked up in some blue sparkling eyes.

"Easy there.. if you scream louder a fiend might show up" a voice said and a person with gray hair looked at her. Ember remembered him. It was Aster phoenix.

"Just let her scream then Phoenix" said a colder voice and snort "I am itching to duel someone". Ember could hear Aster sigh, but he didn't reply. He removed his hand.

"Aster where.. what happened?" She asked. Aster shrugged.

"Well I want to know that. I found you at the river. Zane saved Syrus and the yellow Ojama tells us that Jaden sacrificed Chazz" Aster said "So what happened?". Ember just snort by the mention of Jaden. She was still angry.

"Jaden just made the fiend sacrifice our friends. He didn't do a thing to save us. He is only interested in some power. That and finding Tara and Jesse" She said "Why is he the only one who can save Jesse! I want to be able to as well. It is not fair!".

"Oh yeah Jaden. He needs to grow up" Zane said and shrugged "Oh well. When Tara together with him, they are compensating for each others weaknesses".Then some voices was coming from a place a little away from her. Ember saw Syrus sleeping. He was lying on his backpack with his head. He was mumbling stuff like "Buddy".

"Oh how nice" said Ojama yellow and looked at Zane "He is calling for you Zane".

"No, he is not. He said buddy, so he is not asking for me" He said and pointed a stick at the embers in the fire. "He is asking for Jaden". Ember sneered again. Why were everyone mentioning his name all the time. Why not hers or Jesse?

"Jaden is not important" Ember suddenly yelled "He is no hero and I hate him". Aster sighed suddenly. He took her arm and dragged her up from the ground.

"I think we two need to talk" he said and dragged her with her "And I don't take a no for an answer. Come on Ember". Ember protested, but Aster dragged her with him anyway. When they were enough away from the campfire, not as far as they couldn't see it, Aster turned towards her. He let go of her.

"Now tell me how you really feel" He said in a cold tone "And no lying".

"I don't know what you are talking about" Ember said slowly. Aster sighed.

"So I am just imagining that you are envied on Jaden" He said and snort "I can hear it in your tone of voice, and your anger for him shows it as well". Ember looked at him.

"What do you know about that? You are just an annoying idiotic pro duelist" Ember said and covered her mouth in surprise. Aster sneered a little, but then sighed.

"I will let it slide this time, since you didn't mean it" He said coldly "But I really don't like being called names, and I am not just a pro duelist. I am a pro duelist who have been envied too much on someone, that it actually can destroy parts of your life". Ember looked confused at him. Aster sighed again and smiled at her.

"Being envied is natural, but to much can have different resolves. Take me for etc. I was that guy once who thought I could get anything I wanted. I was on a trip to duel academy and I fell in love with this girl. The same girl Zane also likes right now by the way. However when I found out Tara loved Zane and was together with him, I must admit I ticked. Before I knew it I humiliated her boyfriend on worldwide tv, thinking by doing so, she could see what kind of jerk he was and wanted to be mine. However the opposite happened. She loved him even more and called me a jerk. My meddling caused a lot of problems and it ended up with that they both broke up" Aster said and sighed "I was blinded by jealousy and it ended being something I regretted for the rest of my life. I don't wish that for you. Tell me why you are envied on Jaden". Ember sighed and told him everything. That it all started with her seeing Jaden and Alexis together and her and Jesse was not. That these feelings grew and that she wished just for a moment that he was unhappy, so he knew how it felt and..

"No! What have I done?" Ember suddenly said when she remembered the duel with Brron. All Jaden's friends disappeared and he was already hurt a lot, but she had still yelled that he was no hero and left. It was like tossing fuel on the fire. Just because she was angry at him, when in reality she was jealous. She remembered the dream she just had and Jesse's words "without no one to fight for you will have no reason for living right". The hero needed their side characters. The only ones left was her and Syrus. They had left Jaden, when he needed them the most.

"You know what you have done wrong now right?" Aster said and placed a hand on her shoulder "You and only you can fix what you have destroyed. It will not be easy, but if you truly regret it, you will find out how. Just remember not to be blinded by jealousy to much". Ember nodded. She had a lot of work ahead of her now.

Syrus's p.o.v.

"Syrus! Alright!" yelled Jaden. "That duel was awesome!". He was standing beside Syrus, who was sitting on the stairs relaxing. This was one of the places they hang out. Syrus smiled.

"With Zane?" He questioned. Jaden nodded and smiled like hell.

"Of course you were amazing. Dueling and defending my sister. That takes guts." Jaden told him "So what about we go to the cafeteria and get something special to eat".

"Um no thanks Jaden! I just don't feel like it" He replied. His best friend placed himself down at the stairs as well and looked at him.

"Um what is wrong Sy?" he questioned. Syrus sighed a little.

"Well um you know I lost Jaden!" He said in a guilty tone. Jaden just smiled at him.

"Yeah but you tried and that counts for something" Jaden told him. "Secondly Tara is proud of you too, when she gets over her broken heart and all that. I mean you made her courage to break up with Zane. You showed her that. You gave your everything in that duel. You rule Sy!". Syrus smiled a little smile, but then sighed.

"Yeah, but my everything was not enough. My brother is still mean and Tara broke up with him instead. They should be together you know" He said "I wish he wasn't so mean. But question Jaden. What would you do? I mean if someone you cared about turned really mean and nothing you did could change that". Jaden looked at Syrus and was thinking for a bit.

"Hmm I think I still have his back" Jaden replied. Syrus looked surprised at him.

"Really?" he questioned. Jaden nodded.

"Yeah, people go through all sorts of things you know and change all the time, and in the end you gotta keep looking out for each other" he told him. Syrus sighed.

"But Jaden he is really mean?" He said. Jaden nodded and smiled a little.

"I know that, but the only thing you can control is you. You can chose to start caring or not." He said and looked down "You see if it was you I will never give up, I really mean it. You go dark and I'm still looking out for you. No matter what happens Sy, a friend is still a friend. I have your back no matter what. You will do the same thing for me wouldn't you?".

Syrus slowly woke up while mumbling the words "Of course". He found the yellow ojama on his chest and saw some campfire. Then he heard this voice.

"You know what dreams are little brother" the voice said and Syrus recognized it as Zane's. He could also now see him at the campfire. "That is how we tell ourselves things. Things we don't wanna hear. You know what you have to do Sy. You have to set things straight with Jaden!". Syrus looked in horror at him, but inside he accepted it. He was done running from his conscious. He looked at the ground.

"So um how do I set things straight with Jaden?" He questioned. Zane looked at him.

"Well it is not gonna be easy Sy. It will take guts because you have to be brutally honest with him, but that is nothing new. You do remember how you were defending Tara against me and trying to set me straight. You stood up to me that day and you will have to do the same with Jaden. You will have to use the same strength to get him back. You were willingly to fight for me and for Tara. So why aren't you fighting for your best friend? But then again maybe you are just better without him. Just like you are with me" Zane told him and got up. He began leaving.

"No wait Zane, what if he is like you and don't want to come back. What if he don't wanna change" Syrus yelled at him. Zane just snort a little.

"You will figure something out, but remember you have the guts" He said and tossed him the duel disk he lost. Syrus began crying, but nodded. Zane left.

"It is gonna be okay Syrus" said a voice suddenly and Syrus opened his eyes. In front of him was Ember standing and she was smiling. Then she bowed at him.

"I am sorry Syrus I should never have left. Will you still travel with me?" She asked "I also have some things I shall have fixed with Jaden". Syrus looked at her and then he actually smiled a little and took her hand.

"It would make me happy if you would" He said. Yellow flew around them too.

"What about me?" He asked "Am I not part of the team?". Ember and Syrus didn't answer that. Syrus knew regardless what the spirit would follow them anyway. They began leaving. Just you wait Jaden. Like my brother said I will do everything to bring you back. You have helped me more than one time and it is time I pay you back.

Zane's p.o.v.

From far away the two males. Aster and Zane were watching them. Aster sighed.

"Was it a good idea to let them do this on their own?" Aster questioned.

"We will see" Zane said and shrugged. He began leaving. Aster looked puzzled at him, but a little bit after he followed.

"Gezz Truesdale you could at least let us rest for the night" complained Aster.

"We don't have time for that. I have something I need to do" Zane only replied and Aster shrugged. Zane placed a hand on his chest where he could hear his heart beating. I have two things to do. I need to find Tara, my girlfriend and then a worthy opponent for a all out duel.. before I die! He just hoped Tara was okay!
