A,N: here is a little story before I publish the real season! Though you all should know Ember a little bit more, before the actually story! As for the picture! thought Jesse was so cute, even through he is wearing different clothes, in this chapter! Hope you will like it!!

Ember's p.o.v.

It was a normal morning. Ember was in a expensive car, together with her mother, the driver and some servants. Ember sighed. They were about to drive towards a store, to buy some new dresses, for a stupid party! Her family was the rich Thrussell family. Ember hated being on shopping trips. Her mom always drags her with her, mostly because there is no one to watch her at that time, however she didn't pay much attention to her anyway. Ember was looking out of the window. 

"Ember! You have to sit properly!" reproved her mom once again. Ember sighed. 

"Yes mom!" she only said. Her mom snort a little. 

"And you have to behave, when we return! Your brother is studying!" Her mother said and was not even looking at her. Ember repeated the same sentence again. They arrived at the shop. Her mom quickly picked an adoring kind of princess outfit for Ember, she hated it like the pest, but there were no one who asked for her opinion. Ember got just placed on a chair, while her mom was finding her perfect outfit, which could take hours. Ember sighed and was looking out of the window in the shop. She really wished she could go outside in the big city. She had never seen it, only from windows. She had never walked on the streets, only drived in the cars, from place to place. Her mother walked out of the dressing room.

"How do I look Ember!" She said and was looking at herself in the mirror. 

"Um it is beautiful!" Ember said without looking. Her mother snort.

"I know it is beautiful! But is it styling! No I don't think so!" She just said and walked back in the dressing room, together with her servants. There were no one in the store right now. Ember walked quietly over to the door, and opened it. She could feel the wind in her hair. It felt so nice! Then she saw a pretty butterfly in the sky. It was so pretty! Without even realising it, she left the shop, and followed the butterfly. 

"Hey wait mr. butterfly!" Ember yelled. However suddenly the butterfly was gone! Ember sighed and decided to return to the shop. However she had bin so fixated on the butterfly, that she didn't notice where she was running too, and now she was lost. She had no Idea were she was? Around her was a lot of buildings, and humans, and things she didn't know. Ember was scared! She began walking that way, she thought was that way, she had gone before. 

"Um someone!" She said "Mom! Where are you all!". However no one answered her call, and nobody wanted to help her either. Ember walked around for at long time. She was beginning to cry, and was not looking at where she was going. She bumped into someone, and fell to the ground.

"Hey you! Watch where you are going!" It was a voice of a boy. Ember looked at him.  He was dressed in sneakers, pierced jeans and had a blue dirty jacket on. Ember was so scared now. That she couldn't do anything, but cry. 

Jesse's p.o.v.

Jesse had just returned from the shopping district. He had two bags with food in his hands and was on his way home. His granma had asked him to pick of some things for her, and Jesse gladly did that. Second of all, he had bin hearing a strange voice lately, calling for him. Jesse knew it was a monster spirit! He had the ability to see spirits, actually since he was born, and Jesse had made it his mission to save every spirit who called to him. They were his friends! Jesse had just helped a spirit who's card apparently was tossed away, and he had picked it up, when he heard it cry. Now he was on his way home, with his new friend, when suddenly BAM, he got slammed into somebody and food was spilled everywhere. Jesse fell to the ground as well, and got angry up from the ground. 

"Hey you! Watch where you are going!". However then he noticed a girl, lying on the ground in front of him. Jesse had never seen her before, but she was clearly not from this part of the city. Her clothes were to nice and pretty! She must be from one of the rich families outside town, with big yards or something, thought Jesse. However suddenly the girl began to cry. Jesse got up on his feets pretty fast. 

"Um hey um don't cry!" He said, but the girl didn't stop. Jesse began to panic. He was not good at things like that! He grabbed quickly the food and looked at the crying girl. What should he do? He was trying to relax the girl, but she was not listening to him.

"You shouldn't have screamed at her Jesse!" said a voice suddenly and the spirit, he just saved, appeared before him "You are just scaring her even more!". Jesse looked angry at the spirit. 

"Yeah I know that!" He said "But I am not good at things like this!". However suddenly the girl stopped crying. She had gotten up on her feets and was staring at Jesse! Correction she was staring at the monster behind Jesse!

"Who are you?!" She asked and then also looked at Jesse "Who are you too!". Jesse looked surprised at the girl, then at the spirit. 

"You can see me girl!" Asked the spirit. The girl nodded. She wasn't scared anymore, noticed Jesse. The spirit flew slowly over to the girl. 

"Don't be afraid!" The spirit said "I won't hurt you! And neither will my friend! The boy behind me! His name is Jesse!". The girl looked at Jesse now. 

"Um Yeah!" Jesse said awkwardly "Um My name is Jesse! Jesse Anderson! What is your name!". The girl looked at him. 

"Um it is Ember!" She said slowly "Ember, Crystal, Thrussell!". 

Ember's p.o.v.

Ember looked confused at the boy Jesse and the monster who she didn't know was a spirit. However she was not afraid any longer. Jesse was scratching his hair. 

"Um thrussell!" He said and sounded confused "It is one of these rich families! Why are you running around in these parts! Um this is not a nice place!". Ember sniffled. 

"I got lost!" she said and sniffled a little again "I can't find my mom!". Jesse looked like he was about to panic again. 

"Ah! Don't cry!" He said really fast "We will find your mom! Um I think my mom knows where the trussell's live! Um want to come home to my place?!". Ember looked at him. Then at the monster, who was smiling and nodded. 

"Um Yes, but mom said I never must go with strangers!" Ember questioned. Jesse grinned a little. The spirit flew over to her. 

"We are not strangers!". It said "You know our names right! You are special Ember! There is not many people who can see me! Jesse is special as well!". Ember looked surprised at the spirit. Jesse was smiling awkwardly. Suddenly Ember's stomach was growling. She blushes a little and Jesse grinned a little. 

"Oh you are hungry!" He said and took her hand "Um my mom makes really good food! She is nice to girls like you!". Ember smiled and followed him. He was really nice, she thought.

Time skip at Jesse's "House".

Ember looked at the old "House" who in her eyes looked like a destroyed shelter of some sort, but hey the girl have never seen old little houses, so what do you expect.

She looked at Jesse, who she actually had talked pretty well with on the way here. 

"Um do you live here!" Ember asked. Jesse smiled awkwardly. 

"Um yeah!" He said and scratched his hair, "I know it is nothing compared to your home I think! But everyone is not that lucky!". Ember turned a little red and looked down at the ground. She didn't want to hurt his feelings. However Jesse took it really nice, smiled and grabbed her hand. They walked inside. 

"Hey granny! Mom! I am home!" Jesse screamed. Ember looked around. They were in a dark hallway, but they could see some light from a room a little away. "I have someone with me!". A light began moving closer to them. Ember found out it was actually a lit candle. A woman in old clothes was standing in front of them and was smiling. Jesse let go of her hand and placed the bag with things at the floor. Then he rushed towards the woman and gave her a big hug. 

"Mom!" He said and smiled. The woman smiled and hugged him as well.

"Oh Jesse! Aren't you to old give your old mom hugs! You have only bin away in a hour!" She said but smiled. Ember was a little confused! Her mom never did that?!

"As long as you didn't bring the police, then it is fine!" yelled a old woman voice from the lit up room. Jesse grinned and let go of his mom. 

"Oh granny!" Jesse said really loud "You know I would lose them!". 

"That's my boy!" said the granma from the lit up room. "What about coming in here! And take the bags with you!". Jesse grinned, but then turned towards Ember now. 

"Mom! I found a lost girl in the city! Um and she needs help! But...!" Jesse's stomach growled suddenly and he blushes a little. Ember noticed that the candle was in front of her face now. Ember shyly hit behind Jesse! The spirit appeared behind her. 

"Something wrong Ember!" it asked. Ember shook slowly her head. 

"I am just not good with strangers! My parents says I only need to say something if I being asked!" Ember said in a low voice. Jesse had listened and grinned. 

"My mom is not dangerous Ember!" Jesse said and took her hand "And neither is granny!". Jesse's mom smiled, but looked then at Jesse. 

"She is not from here is she?!" asked the woman and smiled "She is rich right!". Jesse nodded, but then Ember's stomach also began growling. 

"What about we go inside the living room! Then your little friend can't tell us her story!" Jesse's mom stated. Jesse grinned and took Ember's hand and they walked into the lit up room. 

"So you are telling me you got lost in the city!" Jesse's mom asked. Ember nodded. They were sitting close at a big fire place, the only light beside the candles. They were eating a bowl of rice pudding, in witch Ember actually liked. She never tasted it, and she had never felt so much warm from people around her. Only her brother was hugging her, and had similar warm, but he was always studying. Jesse's family was really nice. Even the old granma, who sometimes had a little memory loss and was remembering her time at the streets witch evolved the police quite a bit. The old lady was sitting in a rocking chair and was making medicine. They were having a little pharmacy. Not something big, but they could live by it. Granny grinned from the rocking chair and looked at Ember.

"So you are a Thrussell ha!" The old lady said "Now we can finally get some money in our hand, I will send out a ransom note, that we have their daughter and..!". However the old lady got slammed in the hands with a spoon from Jesse's mom. 

"Granma!" She said angry "WE HAVE NEVER RELIED ON SUCH CRUEL METHODS! AND WE WILL NEVER BEGIN ON THAT EITHER!". Jesse had also gotten up from the floor and also looked angry at his granny. 

"Ember is my friend!" Jesse stated, witch made Ember's heart jump for joy "I will never sell a friend! You know that! She can see spirit's too!". The old lady was rubbing her head and smiled a little. 

"I was only joking!" the old lady defended. Then she looked at Ember "And she can see the spirits? Interesting?! Maybe this was not a coincidence Jesse! You know what I am always saying right!". Jesse calmed down and smiled.

"When you help a spirit, sometimes you will get something in return!" Jesse said and smiled "And if you help people, something good might happen!". Granny nodded. 

"Yeah that's right!" She said and looked at over Ember again. "Come over here child!". Ember was a little scared, but a look at Jesse's happy face was enough to make her over here. The old lady took carefully Ember's hands. 

"Sweet little girl Ember!" She said "Who apparently can see spirits! I also once had that ability, but I am to old now! Seeing spirits is a wonderful thing! Listen to them and help them, and your life will surely change! However I ask for you to take care of my dear grandson Jesse! He will properly end in trouble, and needs a friend like you! Not a spirit, but a real friend, can you do that!". Ember nodded. The old woman hugged her. Ember felt so happy. She rushed over to Jesse too and gave him a big hug. Jesse was a little stunned, but hugged her as well. 

"I think it is time to bring her home Jesse!" said Jesse's mom and smiled "If the police or someone is looking for her and finds her here, they would thing we have kidnapped her!". She gave Jesse a map and pointed a cross on it, where the Trussell's lived. Slowly Jesse and Ember left towards Ember's home. 

Jesse's p.o.v.

At Ember's big mansion. 

He was staring at the big mansion. It was 20 times bigger than his house, or that was what Jesse thought. He was squeezing Ember's hand and looked at her. She was hesitating a little, and didn't rush over to the giant fence who was surrounding the big mansion. Actually she was looking down at her feets for some reason.

"Um so don't you want to home?!" asked Jesse and looked confused at her. Ember sighed a little and looked at her with a sad look in her eyes. 

"I.. don't know!" She said and sighed "Your family is so much nicer! Mine don't care!". Jesse looked at her. 

"Ah I think you are overreacting!" Jesse said and began walking over to the fence. Jesse lended her his shoulders so Ember could reach the speaker system. He could hear Ember say her name and that she had returned, and if anyone would open the gate. Then she jumped down from him. The gate opened. Jesse smiled. He was about to let go of her hand and leave this place, but Ember had a begging look on her face. 

"Jesse! Please come with me?!" she asked. Jesse shrugged and walked inside. The mansion was really big and the yards were big too. Jesse was looking around and was totally stunned. He couldn't believe that no one who like a sweet girl like Ember. 

"Ember!" yelled a voice suddenly and a boy in black suit and had flame red hair was rushing towards her. Ember looked surprised and let go off Jesse's hand. She rushed over to the boy and gave him a big hug. 

"Josh!" she yelled and hugged him. Tears were falling down her cheeks. Josh was grinning a little and hugged Ember back. 

"Oh Ember, stop crying every time you see me!" He said and smiled. He let go of the girl and tousled her hair. Ember was trying to wipe her tears away. 

"But Josh nii san!" she said in a harsh voice "It is a long time since I have seen you!". Josh sighed and hugged her sister once more. 

"Yeah I am sorry!" He said. Then he noticed Jesse. Jesse looked a little confused at Josh. He was staring at him. The look he was sending him, was not so pleasant. 

"Who is this?!" He asked Ember. Ember smiled and took Jesse's hand. 

"This is Jesse! He is my new friend!" stated Ember. Jesse felt so happy. Josh sighed. 

"He is not from around here!" began Josh and sighed "If mom and Dad knew that one from the poor area, he would be here, they would call the police!". Jesse gulped a little. Ember looked at Jesse and squeezed his hand. 

"But Jesse, didn't do anything!" Ember said worried "He is my friend!". Josh smiled. 

"I know! We will talk about this later!" He said and walked over to Jesse "Hi Jesse!".

"Um Hi!" Jesse said worried "You are not gonna call the police right!". Josh smiled. 

"No don't worry!" He said "You brought my sister home! My name is Joshua Crystal Thrussell! Her 16 year old brother! What about you come inside! Luckily my parents are not home! Actually they are looking for her, and they are strict, so I am gonna wait a little before calling them!". Jesse was looking confused at Ember. She was looking at her feets. However they all began walking towards the mansion. 

"So Jesse, you are poor eh!" asked Joshua. They were sitting in some really good armchairs and drinking some tea, which Jesse thought was a little sweet. He was dressed in some of the servants clothes, Joshua meant that if ever Jesse was discovered by their parent, he would only be referred as a child of the servants. Jesse didn't complain. It was better clothes that he ever had. Ember was sitting close to him and eating some fruit. She was kind of embarrassed.

"Yeah!" Jesse said and looked at the floor. He was not proud of this. Joshua smiled. 

"Oh it is okay!" He said and smiled "Don't be ashamed! I actually wish to be poor sometimes!". Jesse looked confused at him. 

"Um Josh nii san is studying a lot!" Ember said and looked at him. Joshua nodded. 

"Yeah! Our parents is strict! What Ember told me about your caring family! I kind of get envied! There is nothing like this here!" Joshua said and sighed "I am rarely with my sister at all and our parents don't care about her! This is actually the first time we had together in a long time!". Ember nodded. Jesse was confused. 

"But you are rich?!" said Jesse confused "You have all these stuff?!". Joshua smiled.

"Being rich doesn't mean you are happy Jesse!" Joshua said "Far from it! However I have something to ask you Jesse?!". Jesse looked at him. 

"I told you I am rarely around my sister, so do you want to be her friend and take care of her for me?!" Joshua asked "I will of course return the favor?! I will help your family in return! Without our parents noticing of course?!". Jesse looked at him. 

"I am already her friend!" Jesse said and smiled "I am already taking care of her? I can't see why you are asking me though?!". Ember smiled happily and hugged Jesse once more. Joshua grinned a little. 

"You are sweet Jesse!" He said "You two are still to young to understand the system yet! But tell your mom that if they ever need help, they can get it from us, but have to go through our butler WILLIAM!!". The door opened into the room and a man in butler clothes walked in and bowed to him. 

"You called Master?!" He asked and looked at Joshua. Joshua nodded. 

"This boy called Jesse!" He pointed at him "Make sure if his family asks for help, then make sure to contact me! Oh and show Jesse, hmm the *cough* hole I crawled out of when I was little! And our parents must never know of course! Jesse here is going to be Ember's friend!".

"My lips are sealed Sir!" He said and bowed, then was looking at Ember "Congrats Miss Ember! I am really happy for you!". Then he walked out and Jesse slowly followed. However suddenly the spirit he helped this morning appeared beside him.

"Jesse! I have to say something to say to you before you leave!"  it said. 

"Um what is it?!" asked Jesse confused. The spirit smiled and then looked at Ember.

"I have decided to gain a new master!" The spirit grinned. Jesse was confused. 

"You mean a new owner? Who?!" Jesse asked. The spirit flew slowly over to Ember.

"I want to be with Ember?!" It said, which made both Jesse and Ember look confused at it. Ember was looking at her feets again. 

"She weird the power of a great fighter Jesse! I can feel great warrior power from her! So what do you say Ember! Will you be my master!". Ember looked at Jesse, who was actually smiling. He walked back to her. 

"Here!" Jesse said and was holding a monster card in front of her "You heard Hayabusa knight statement! It want to be your friend as well and partner! But you have to chose Ember!". Ember looked at Jesse and grinned. She took the card. 

"You both are my friends!" Ember said and smiled. Jesse smiled and left the spirit with Ember. He sighed a little. He still hadn't found a spirit who wanted to be his partner or friend, but he knew the day would come.   

Ember's p.o.v.

Several years later. Ember is 15 now. 

"Mom, Dad! I beg you!" begged Ember and looked at her parents. 

"Forget it Ember!" said Mr. Thrussell and snort angry "A no is no!". Ember sneered. 

"But why can't I go to north academy! It is only a school?!". Her mom snort. 

"Oh yeah! But a school can change people!" Mrs. Thrussell stated "And you have already changed enough! Just look at your clothes.. you are dressed as a..a BOY!". Ember sighed. She looked down at herself. She was dressed in black jeans, a red slouchy sweatshirt and underneath a with top, and a belt around her waist was a black belt visible. Ember sighed again. She knew her parents didn't like this, but Ember didn't care. In her parents she should be dressed in dress or skirt like a normal girl, but Ember didn't like to wear that anymore. She didn't care if she was boyish. 

"Mom! Dad! I have promised to wear dress and that stuff by special events right, so what is the problem?!" Ember asked. Her spirit Hayabusa Knight was flowing around and squeaked a little.

"Want me to scare them a little my lady!" the bird warrior asked. Ember shook her head. Her parents was still looking angry at her. 

"The problem is that you are a Thrussell and you have responsibility here!" Her father said and snort. Ember sneered. 

"But I am only gone for 4 years!" She stated "I am not gone for good?! I thought you wanted me to be smarter! And by going to North academy I will be not be in the way?!". Her parents looked at each other and both shook their heads. 

"As tempting as that is!" Her mom stated "You will be home schooled! Just like your brother! Until you fulfill your responsibility as a Thrussell!". Ember sneered. Suddenly William walked inside the room and bowed to all of them. 

"Sorry to interrupt you my masters!" He said "But I got a telegram from a important business partner! It is a little urgent!". Miss Thrussell took it and began reading. Then she showed it to her husband and they both sighed. They looked at Ember. 

"Okay Ember!" They both said "You can enroll on north academy, but you return to the household after the 4 years at the academy! To fulfil your duty as a Thrussell!". Ember looked shocked at them, but them was jumping happy up and down. 

"Oh thanks, thanks!" She hugged them "You wont regret it!". Then she rushed out of the room and towards her own to pack. She was smiling happily. Now she could enroll together with Jesse. Josh had made it possible for Jesse! Ember was so happy that she didn't think about why her parents had changed their minds!
