Jaden's p.o.v.

Jaden was rushing back to his seat. A reporter was already interviewing Aster. Jaden sat down and turned towards Alexis.

”So what did I miss!” Jaden asked. Syrus had also arrived and sat down on his seat. 

”Well Aster has just told the news lady, that a student has copied his deck!” Alexis said angry ”And before that, he was telling her about a mystery girl, he had fallen for! And that can only be Tara!”. Hassleberry screamed. 

”That oversized dino punk!” He screamed ”Tara is not something you just can claim! It is dishonesty for every woman!”. Jaden just smiled awkwardly. His sister has fanboys! That's for sure! However Aster began talking again.

”You see, this student witch name I am not gonna mention, has already a fan group on this so called school of theirs, so I don't want him to take all the credit for my hard work!” Aster said and snort. All Jaden's friends clenched there fists. 

”Okay! That does it!” Bastion said ”I can't stand this guy!”. However Aster was talking again. He grinned a cold smile. 

”There is a fact that no one can change, and that is that I am the best! Therefore I will challenge this school boy with the same copied hero deck as mine to a duel! If he thinks his deck is so great, then prove it against mine!” Aster said and then smiled ”And at the same time I can meet my prize!”. Jaden sneered a little angry, but he was really eager to face up against Aster. 

”So what do you say Jaden!” asked Alexis ”You already beat him ones!”. 

”Yeah but now he is using his real deck!” Bastion said. Jaden just smiled. He was ready! This could be the challenging he had bin waiting for!

Sartorius p.o.v.

”Wise choise!” said Sartorius and grinned. He was in his little room, and Aster had just arrived. Aster looked angry. 

”Yeah you were right!” He said ”I have to beat Jaden! My carreer is one the line here!”. Sartorius smirked a little. 

”Glad you see it! But this rivaly wasn't my idea! It was chosen be destiny!” Sartorius said. Aster smiled and walked toward Sartorius. 

”Well that maybe be true! But we already know who the destiny has chosen!” He braged. Sartorius just smirked. That boy still had a lot to learn about destiny!

”Your pride serves as a strength and a weakness! But lend me your deck! I will see what the fate has in store for you!”. Aster gave him his deck. Sartorius smirked. Everything was going after the plan! He summoned a little energi in hands and pulled it into Aster's deck. Soon the light energi was gone. He gave Aster his deck back. 

”So what did you see!” Aster asked. Sartorius smirked again. 

”You already now the future!” He replied. Aster smiled. 

”Then you don't have to wish me luck!” He said and left. Sartorius followed him with his eyes, when he left the room. Soon very soon, Jaden would see the light and he would serve the light for all eternally. 

Tara's p.o.v.

In the middle of the night.

Tara was covered in darkness. That was the only thing around her. However Tara wasn't afraid. She wasn't even scared. She felt home here. Like this place belonged to her. Tara was lying down on.. Yeah she wasn't even sure what she was lying on, but it was confortable and warm. Suddenly a cold, blowing wind had entered the comfortable darkness around her. Tara got up on her feet! She felt like something was approaching! She could suddenly hear some voices. They didn't sound threatening or dangerous, however they sounded scared, sad and kind. Tara listened to their sad voices. However what she heard gave no sense at all. Actually when Tara tried listening, their voices got all blurred and hard to understand! 

”Girl!” said a voice suddenly. It sounded more mature and manly than the other voices ”You girl who can hear both voices! Listen to my prayers! Protect the chosen one at all cost! Our enemies want him and has found him! If you hear me girl, then please listen to my prayer!”. Tara didn't know what he meant. However suddenly the darkness began disappearing and...

Tara woke up, screaming. Jaden, Bastion, and Syrus looked confused at her. They were at Bastion's room. Bastion and Syrus had dragged Jaden down there, because they wanted him to study up on Aster. Tara had chosen to follow. She didn't have anything to do anyway. However Bastion's lecture was away so boring, and in the end she had falled asleep on Bastion's bed. Jaden, who was sitting on the bed beside her, took her hand and was trying to make her relax. 

”Tara, Tara, It's okay!” he said ”You had a bad dream!”. Tara looked confused at him. 

”You didn't dream that!” she asked confused. Jaden looked worried at her. 

”What didn't I dream!” He asked. Tara sighed. 

”Um nothing!” She said. That dream hadn't bin normal. ”So what are you doing!”.

”Um checking Aster's profil!” said Syrus ”And found out, that he can't be beat!”. 

”Yeah right!” said Jaden and was shuffling his cards ”When I am finished with him, his record is going so much down!”. Tara sighed. Jaden was so inocent like always. Suddenly they heard a scream. They all got up on their feet and looked at each other.

”Did you hear that!” Tara asked. The others nodded and soon after, they all rushed out of Bastion's room and towards the scream. 

At the school entrance.

Tara and co. found Aster at the main entrance. The two chancellers arrived too. Appearently Aster had kicked someone unconscious. 

”Um who's that!” asked Syrus and rushed over to the man that was lying on the floor. Bastion followed Syrus and looked at the man. 

”Oh He was just a criminal who thinks it is right to steal!” Aster said and shrugged ”So I taught him a lesson!”. The twins looked shocked at Aster. 

”And what was it you exactly did!” Bastion asked, but Aster ignored him. 

”Jaden, Tara! It is so good to see you!” He said with open arms. Tara just snort.

”Yeah right!” She said ”After you totally humiliate my boyfriend on worldwide tv, and trash talked about what a copy duelist my brother is! How arrogant can you be!”. 

”Yeah!” added Jaden ”And my sister is not a prize for you to win!”. Aster smirked. 

”Save that energi for the duel tomorrow Jaden!” He said ”As for you Tara, do you want to go on a date with me!”. Tara looked really angry at him. 

”Um didn't you just listen to all that we just said!” She scream ”I think you need a new pair of ears! No!! I don't want to go on a date with you! I think I will date a rat before I ever date you!”. The others looked really surprised and was waiting for Aster's replay, however he just smirked a little, and didn't look angry. He just starred Tara in the eyes. She felt really uncomfortable. 

”Say what you like!” Aster said in a calm voice ”We were destined to meet and you will realize that we belong together! However Jaden beside your friends here, and your sister. No spectators allowed!”. Tara and Jaden looked in horror. They others began asking why, but Tara didn't listen. There were something different about Aster, and it had nothing to do with his arrogant attitude. No something was wrong with his aura or energi, or what else you call it, but Tara couldn't figure out what. However soon after Aster left! Tara looked after him. She really didn't like him!

Jaden's p.o.v.

The next morning.

Jaden was standing in the duel arena, waiting for the duel to start. There were a lot of people working on duel field. Normaly they didn't work that hard on the field. Maybe it was because a pro was dueling here, and everything has to be up to date. However Jaden didn't really care. He was just excited to duel Aster. This was going to be a great challenge for him, Jaden just knew. He saw Aster attempting to the duel field, and Jaden followed his exemple and walked up on the duel field. Alexis's two friends were cheering on Aster from the tribune, and Aster waved at them. Jaden sighed a little. If his trusted fans knew how arrogant he really was, they wouldn't be his fans for that long. Jaden looked at the tribune, and found his friends. Chazz, Alexis, Hassleberry, Syrus and Bastion. However he couldn't see Tara anywhere. He wondered where she was. Aster pluged in his deck. Jaden did the same thing. Suddenly Winged Kuriboh appeared beside him. He was warning him, not to let his guard down, and was pointing at Aster for some reason. Jaden smiled. 

”I will always have my guard up Kuriboh!” He said ”Don't worry! It is just a duel!”. Kuriboh disappeared again. Jaden looked at Aster. He was really to duel him. 

Tara's p.o.v.

Tara was rushing towards the hallways towards the duel field. It was totally the wrong day to oversleep. She had just arrived at the entrance to the arena, when she saw a man talking in a cellphone, and overheard a little of the conversation. Something with the duel. She hit under the tribune, near the exit so that the man didn't see her. Now she could hear the man loud and clear, and funny enough also the voice inside the cellphone, with was a little weird. Tara was not that close to the cellphone and the man. However she listened to the conversation.

”Yes Master Sartorius, the duel is about to start!” said the man. 

”Excellent! Then it is only a matter of time, before we get our newest member, Jaden Yuki! For when he loses this duel, he will see..”. However Tara got interrupted when a man discovered her, and drives her away. Tara didn't know what to do, if Jaden loses then what! Tara rushed towards her brother. He was standing on the field and was about to duel Aster. 

”Jaden!” She screamed. Jaden turned around and smiled. 

”Sis! You made it!” He said and smiled. Tara grabbed Jaden's hand.

”You can't duel in this duel!” She said. Jaden looked confused. ”I heard something and.. You can't duel him!”. Jaden got out of her grip. 

”What are you talking about Tara! It is only a duel, and you know I have waited for a challenge in a long time!” Jaden said confused. ”You sound like Winged Kuriboh!”. Tara sighed. She knew she couldn't talk Jaden out of it. She placed herself at the tribune, close to Jaden and the field. If he ever needed her help our something. The duel began. 

Jaden: 4000Lp.

Aster: 4000Lp.

Aster began. He only summoned ”Clayman” in def mode. It was now Jaden's turn. He fusion summoned ”Flame wingman” to the field, and attacked Aster's monster. He dealt Aster 800 points of damage. Aster also fusion summoned and got ”Phoenix Emforcer” on the field. He destroyed Jaden's monster. They were fighting back and fought, until Aster revealed his ”D-time” trap card. Jaden had ”Shining flare wingman” on the field. The monster Tara gave him as a child, and it was equipped with ”Light laser”. Jaden had also played the field spell card ”Skyscraper”, and was in the lead with life points. However when Jaden destroyed Aster's ”Shining Phoenix emforcer”, it tricked his trap. Aster could now summon a ”Destiny hero” from his deck. Tara had never heard about these cards, but it couldn't be a good thing. Aster activated a new field spell called ”Clock tower prison”, and it destroyed Jaden's. Aster was holding a speech about the clock, Tara was only half listening, however when the clock hit twelve, the sky was clearing, and showed a monster on one of the towers. Aster grinned really loud. 

”Jaden!” He scream ”Meet ”Destiny hero, Doom lord”. Tara looked at the monster. So did Jaden. However the monster looked weak. It only had 600 att. Tara had a really bad feeling about this. Aster attacked with his new monster. It had a special eff. It could sent a monster two rounds into the future. The twins looked confused. 

”Why in the world did you do that!” asked Jaden. Aster just grinned. 

”You have a lot to learn about the future and destiny!” Aster said and grinned ”With my destiny heroes, I am now controling you future! And it doesn't look good!”. Tara gulped. This was not good! Aster placed one facedown and ended his turn. 

Jaden's turn. He drew and Aster began on some stupid clock jokes. Tara didn't understand the fun in them, but the clock turned 3,o clock. Jaden summoned ”Wroughtweiler” in att mode. He destroyed Aster's monster. However he revealed his facedown ”Destiny signal”. Tara sighed. Their decks were so similar, but also so different. Aster could now summon a new destiny hero, and he chose ”DH Captain tenacious”. He was also a weak monster. However it also had an eff. It could bring back monsters from the grave. Tara looked in horror when ”DH Doom lord” was back. It was Aster's turn. He summoned another destiny hero called ”Diamand dude” to the field. It also had an eff. Aster could look at his top card of his deck, and if it was a spell card, he could sent it to the grave, and then use it, in his next turn. It was his ”Misfutune” spell card. Tara could see his brother sweat a little. This duel was not turning out to be like he wanted. Aster attacked with ”Diamond dude” and destroyed Jaden dog, and because of his eff, Jaden got a hero and his fusion card back. Aster also attacked with his ”Captain tenacious”. Then Aster placed a facedown, and it was finally Jaden's turn. Tara rushed to Jaden's side. 

”Jaden!” she screamed ”Jaden! Do you need my help!”. Jaden looked at her. 

”Tara what are you so worried about! It is only a duel! I can do this on my own!” he said. Tara sighed. She wished she could do something. Anything! This duel wasn't right! However Jaden didn't want her help! Aster's clock turned 6'o clock. Jaden summoned ”Bubbleman” to the field and drew two more cards. He then equipped ”Bubbleman” with the spell ”Bubble blaster”, and attacked Aster's captain. However Aster was ready for him ones again. He played the trap ”D- shield” and equipped it to his captain. The captain couldn't be destroyed in battle now. Jaden had to end his turn again. Aster's turn. Luckily Jaden got his ”Shining flare wingman” back, however Aster was also ready for that. He used his ”Misfutune” who happens to came back from the grave this turn. If he skipped his battle phase, he could cut one of Jaden's monsters att in half and turn the points into damage. Jaden had only 150 lp's left. Aster then used ”DH Doom lords” eff again and sent Jaden's ”Shining flare wingman” into the future again. Jaden looked worried and confused. Tara could hear Bastion commented Aster's move. 

”This duel is remarkable!” He said ”Jaden can't do a thing! Because all his moves are being predetermined!”. Tara sighed. She knew Bastion was right. She really hated seeing Jaden struggle like this. Suddenly she could hear a voice grinning. Tara turned around, but there were no one in here! She followed the sound. She looked towards Aster, but Aster wasn't saying anything. Something was wrong! 

”I can see your struggle!” said voice from before ”Everything you believed in, turned out to be a lie! Soon your eyes will finally open!”. Tara covered her ears. She looked at Jaden and her friends. They didn't look confused or surprised, like she was. Tara figured she was the only one who could hear the voice. Jaden had already made a new move. Aster's clock turned 9'o clock. Jaden attacked ”Doom lord” with ”Bubbleman” and dealt some damage, however because of his captain, doom lord was not gone for good. Jaden played ”Clayman” in def mode and ended his turn. Aster smirked. He brought back his ”Doom lord” and used ”Diamond dude's” eff and sent a spell card to the grave. He then uses ”Doom lord's” eff and sends Jaden's Bubbleman into the future too. He then used the spell ”Ring of magnetism” and equipped it to his captain. Now Jaden could only attack this monster. Jaden's turn again. However Aster's clock tower turned 12, o clock now, and was beginning to flash around a little bit. Jaden and Tara looked really confused. However Jaden hadn't the time to worry. He fusion summoned two of his monsters into ”Necroshaman”, and used his eff. He could sacrifice a monster on Aster's field, and chose his captain, and replace it with Avian from his grave. Tara sighed relieved. Maybe there was hope for Jaden after all. He attacked with his monster, and destroyed Aster's doom lord. However something was wrong here. Aster should have lost the duel by now. 

”Your surprised!” Aster said and grinned ”I am still here, because of the clock tower behind me! As long as it stays here, I am invincible!”. Jaden sneered and placed two facedown's. Aster's turn again. He got his spell card back from the grave, and by sending two spell cards to the grave, he could get his ”Misfutune” spell card back. And of course he used it. However this time, Jaden was prepared. He used his two facedown spell cards. ”De-fusion” and ”Barrel from a different dimension”. He defused his monsters, and Aster's card had no target anymore. Tara sighed relieved. Jaden was still in there. It was his turn. He played the field spell ”Fusion gate” and destroyed Aster's clock tower. Aster began laughing. 

”Why thank you!” He said and smirked ”I wanted you to destroy it! Now I can release the monster who is hiding inside. Come on out Dreadmaster!”. Tara and co. looked in horror, when a giant monster appeared on the field. Aster explained his new monsters eff. It destroyed every non destiny hero on his field, and he could also summon two destiny heroes from the grave. Tara could see that Jaden was sweating. However he tried a last attempt to win this duel. He fusion summoned two of his monsters, to summon ”Thunder giant”, and was trying to use it's eff, to destroy one of Aster's monsters. However because of Dreadmaster's eff, Jaden couldn't do that. 

”You are not a bad duelist Jaden!” said Aster suddenly ”But there is a thing I have, that you don't, and thats a purpose. A reason for dueling!”. And Aster told them a story about his childhood, and that his farther went missing. However Tara didn't listen. She could hear that weird voice again. She finally noticed where it came from. It came from Aster's deck. 

”Finally the chosen duelist is about to be mine!” the voice scream. Tara looked at Jaden and she finally realized it. The chosen duelist, the voice from her dream spoke of. It was her brother! ”Protect the chosen duelist at all costs” .Tara didn't know who the voice from the dream was, but he sounded nicer than that cruel voice from Aster's deck. Aster was about to attack with dreadmaster now. Tara could hear the evil voice again, and saw that dreadmaster lit a little up. Tara rushed up on the dueling field. Dreadmaster destroyed Jaden's monster now, however Tara shielded her brother from that light beam, who appeared from Aster's monster. Tara was sure, she was the only one who could see it. 

”Jaden watch out!” She scream and the hologram cut through her. She felt the light hit her body and screamed.
