Normal p.o.v.

The days had gone pretty fast. Finally the field trip in domino city was at an end, and Jaden and his friends returned back to the duel academy. Everything was back to normal. Or as normal as it can be with most of the school being at the white dorm. But there were not peace for long! Jaden dueled a doll duel spirit, who was angry at the students for treating their cards pretty badly. Hassleberry even fell in love with her, but luckily it was only a spell, and Jaden saved the day. Jaden also got challenged by a quiz duelist for SOL, because he thought Jaden was a treat to him. He was in love with Alexis, but of course Jaden also won! However not everything did turn out alright. Bastion had joined the SOL. He wished to be noticed for his skills. So he visited the white dorm and challenged Sartorius. However he should fight Chazz instead, and lost on purpose. Jaden and co. could only look when Bastion left with the SOL members. However they couldn't do anything! Here begins the story again.

Syrus's p.o.v.

Syrus was sitting at the lighthouse at the harbor and was thinking. He was thinking on his big bro Zane, who was dueling at the pro league. However he didn't like what he was seeing. The words from the commentator from Zane's first fight, after his rebirth, was still ringing inside his head.

”Yet another win for Zane Truesdale! I am telling you! He is dueling like a man possesed! Is his secret in his scary dark new look?!”. Syrus sighed. After that duel it only get worse. Syrus couldn't recognize his brother any longer, and Tara was brainwashed and couldn't do a thing. If she was around, Zane was properly change back to his normal self! Syrus shook his head! What was he saying? He couldn't blame Tara for all this! It was not her fault! Syrus sighed. He was Zane's little brother! It was his duty! However Syrus only hid his head between his knees. What could he do? He could never beat Zane! He was not good enough! Syrus sighed.

”Hey Syrus!” could Syrus hear a voice say and saw Jaden running towards him. ”There you are! Zane's duel is about to start! Hassleberry got connection to one of the Satellites! We are only waiting for you!”. Syrus sighed again.

”I am not going!” Syrus said ”My brother hasn't been himself! I can't stand seeing him like this!”. Jaden placed himself near Syrus and looked at him.

”Well he is a lot angrier these days!” He said and smiled ”But you got to admit, since Zane changed his style, he had won non stop!”. Syrus sighed again.

”Yeah I know, but it is still hard to watch!” Syrus said. Jaden grinned.

”Oh come on!” Jaden said ”We have beef turkey! You like that stuff!”. Syrus smiled.

”Oh okay!” He said and got up on his feets. They both began walking towards the slifer dorm.

Zane's p.o.v.

Zane was standing in one of the big stadiums in one of the big cities. The crowd was cheering. The duel was proceeding, and commentators was talking.

”Will you listen to that crowd!” could Zane hear them say. ”Zane maniac is running wild!”. However Zane ready didn't care! The only thing he was thinking of was winning. Everything else didn't matter. Zane looked at his opponent. It was a scrawny little kid with some puny monsters on the field. It was nothing he couldn't beat. Zane attacked with a monster and destroyed the monsters on the field. However he was not finished with his opponent yet.

”Cyber end dragon! End this!” He scream and the dragon attacked with all it's power. Zane's opponent got blasted away and hit the ground really hard. Zane knew he was unconscious, and injured pretty badly. The commentators was talking about his injuries and Zane's disregards towards his opponents. Zane really didn't care! He began leaving the stadium. Mr. shroud was waiting for him at the exit, and he was following him towards the black limo. They began driving away.

”Well it was a nice finish back there!” Mr. Shroud said and grinned ”That boy won't walk for months! Didn't I tell you, if you stick with me, you would gain everything back!”. Zane smiled. He was sitting at the back seat and was looking at Shroud.

”Well that is true!” He said and smirked ”However now that I have gained everything, I don't need your help!”. Shroud looked shocked at him.

”But what are you saying!” Shroud said confused ”You are still missing your girlfriend!”. Zane smirked and asked the driver to stop the limo in some minutes.

”I can do that myself!” He said cruel ”I don't need you anymore Shroud!”. Then he got the driver to kick Shroud out at the limo, and drove away. He could hear shroud scream in the background now.

”You are gonna regret this kid!” He scream, but Zane didn't care. He took a letter up from his pocket and was looking at it in a minute. It said:

Truesdale! Meet me at the top of the world!

Zane looked at the letter and snort a little. He took his deck out and was looking at his Cyber end dragon. A little bit after he was smiling.

”Cyber end dragon! We are gonna ride up to the top of the world!” He said.

At the top of the world.

Zane was right now climbing a mountain. He was of course dressed in climbing outfit and was having a lot of tools with him. However Zane had bin here before, so he knew he was close at the top. A little bit after, he arrived at the top and saw a old temple. Zane smiled. He had finally arrived. Zane took some minutes to catch his breathe. A little bit after, he walked inside. He took his warm clothes off, and turned around. He already knew someone was watching him. It was sheppard!

”I was afraid that you didn't want to show!” Sheppard said. Zane smirked.

”Well hello master!” He said in a cold tone ”After you stepped down as chancellor, I thought we would never hear from you again. Everyone was thinking you were crazy to walk away for that job. But everyone has a secret I guess! Figured that you were up here! If you want to lecture me, I don't have the time!”. Sheppard looked at him.

”You know why I have called you here Truesdale!” Sheppard said ”So lets duel!”.

”Hope you don't regret this old man!” Zane said in a cold tone ”It is your own fault!”. However sheppard only snort a little. Zane took his duel disk on and the duel began.

Zane: 4000lp.

Sheppard: 4000lp.

Sheppard started the duel. He only placed two facedown's and ended his turn. Zane snort. That was a boring move. However a little bit later, he was smirking. He could show his former master, a real move. He played the spell card ”Future fusion” and fusion summoned his ”Cyber end dragon” to the field. However because it was summoned duo ”Future fusion”, his monster couldn't attack in this round.

Sheppard was smiling at Zane. He was looking at his dragon. Zane only snort.

”I am well aware of you and your dragon, I was the one who gave it too you after all!” Sheppard said and smiled. Zane really didn't care. Sheppard looked at him.

”Did you really forget? Or did you trade your new wardrobe, for your old memories!” Sheppard said and sighed ”Well allow me to remind you then! You were 9 years old when you found out! You are the one and only heir to an accident deck called the Cyber legacy. It all happened in this temple!”. Zane didn't say anything. Sheppard continued his story. ”You was the one of my students who really stood out! Your talent and determination was like no other, and it didn't take long for me to realise that you were the one! After I gave you the card, I thought our journey was over, but fate had it, that we meet at duel academy years later. I couldn't tell you then, but I was really proud of you! Being one of my former students, and at the top at the academy! However now you have changed!”. Zane snort again and looked at Sheppard.

”Hff, this is sounding like a lecture!” He said cold ”I told you! I don't have the time! I am here, and here only, to get the rest of the legacy! The underworld deck!”.

”So I was right!” said Sheppard and sighed ”Yes there existed another deck, but it is locked away! And for good reason! It is full of horror and shadow!”. Zane smirked.

”Spare me the details!” He screamed ”I want those cards!”. Sheppard clenched his fists and looked really angry at Zane now.

”Never!” He scream ”It is over my dead body!”. Zane smirked a little cruel. However Sheppard revealed his trap card, ”Shadow gardna”. It could copy one monster on the field, and got the same att points, and of course the card transformed into ”Cyber end dragon”. Zane was still smirking! It was still his turn. He used the quick spell ”De-fusion” and got three ”Cyber dragons” to the field. Now the ”Shadow gardna” had to copy one of Zane's dragons instead. Zane attacked with one of his dragons and they destroyed themselves. Zane was about to attack with both his dragons, when Sheppard revealed his other trap called ”Byroad sacrifice”. When a monster is destroyed in battle, Sheppard could now special summon ”Cyber ogre” to the field in att mode. Zane smirked. This monster was still weaker than Cyber dragon. Zane attacked with his second dragon, but Sheppard was ready for him. By activating his monster's eff, by discarding a Cyber ogre from his hand, Sheppard could now negate the attack, and as a bonus, his cyber ogre gained the att point's from the attacking monster. His monster now had 4000 att. Zane smirked and placed one facedown.

”Not bad Sheppard!” Zane said and grinned ”But you need more than that! He is your choice! You can tell me where I can find the deck and I will spare you, or you can continuing this duel, at your own risk!”. Zane noticed that Sheppard was sweating a little, however he still wanted to continue this duel. Zane shrugged. He had warned him! Now it was not his problem any longer. Like the other duelists who dueled him. If they wanted to duel him, it was their own problems. Not his! Zane only did care about victory! Zane sighed inside! That was not fully correct. He still cared about Tara though. However he could think about that later. Right now he had an opponent to crush. It was Sheppard turn now and he drew. Zane revealed his trap ”Attack reflector unit”. By sacrificing a dragon from his field, Zane could now special summon ”Barrier dragon” from his deck to the field in att mode, and as long as it stays in att mode, Barrier dragon could negate an attack once per turn. So Sheppard couldn't attack with his monster in this round. However he played the spell ”Monster reincarnation”. He discarded a card to the grave and got his Cyber ogre back from the grave. He then placed one facedown and ended his turn. It was Zane's turn again. He summoned ”Proto cyber dragon” to the field in att mode. He then played the spell ”Photon generator unit”. By sacrificing his proto dragon and cyber dragon, Zane could now summon ”Laser dragon” from his deck to the field. Also in att mode. Zane then used it's eff. Once per turn it could destroy a monster, who has the same att or lower, and since Laser dragon has 2400 att, Zane could destroy, Sheppard's monster. Sheppard revealed his facedown card. The spell ”Scrap fusion”. Now he could take monsters, who could get fused, and summoned it to the field. Sheppard chose Zane's three Cyber dragons. He could also fuse them, and now he had ”Cyber end dragon” on his field. Zane only snort a little, placed a card facedown and ended his turn.

It was sheppard's turn again, he played the spell ”Pot of greed” and got two more cards. Then he summoned the monster ”Cyber esper” to the field. He attacked with his new monster, and of course, Barrier dragon's eff kicks in. Then Sheppard attacked with cyber end dragon, and destroyed Zane's Laser dragon. Zane lost some life points of course. He placed one card facedown and ended his turn. It was Zane's turn. He drew, however now Sheppard's Esper's eff kicks in. Sheppard could look at every card Zane drew. Zane had got ”Pot of greed” and of course he used it. He got two more cards. It was ”Creature swap” and ”Limiter removal”. Two spell cards. Zane looked at his former teacher. He was so quiet all of the sudden. Zane smirked. Okay, Sheppard was his former teacher, and he knows him and his deck, like the back of his own deck, however Zane also knew his master's deck and moves. He was pretty sure he knew what Sheppard's strategy was. Zane had a feeling, that his master was sure, that he want's his Cyber end dragon back, and one of his facedown's was there to stop him. Zane smirked again. That old man was getting too soft. Zane was sure he was thinking about the past right now. Like that one time in this temple, where Cyber end dragon had given him a sign on how to summon it. Zane snort inside and pushed these memories in the corner of his mind. He was not living in the past! He was living in the future! Zane smiled and revealed his trap card ”Lost pride”. By discarding a spell card from his hand to his grave, Zane could now take a spell from his opponent's grave to his hand. Zane discarded ”Creature swap”.

”What!” screamed Sheppard stunned ”Now you can't get Cyber end dragon back!”.

”I don't want it!” Zane said in a cold and cruel voice. ”I want your spell ”Scrap fusion”. Zane took the spell from Sheppard and added it to his hand. Then Zane played the spell ”Ruthless denial”. By sacrificing his ”Barrier dragon”, Zane could now choose one of Sheppard's monster's and sent it to the grave. He chose his Cyber ogre in his hand. Now he had two of them in his grave. Then Zane played ”Scrap fusion”. He took Sheppard's two Cyber ogre in his grave, and fusion summoned them to summon ”Cyber ogre 2” to the field. However because of lost pride, Zane should give up 1000 lp's. Sheppard looked shocked at him.

”But how Zane can you give up on Cyber end dragon!” Yelled Sheppard at him ”You were so fond of that dragon!”. Zane snort and smirked.

”I am only here to win!” Zane said cruel ”Now Cyber ogre 2's eff activated! Giving it half of end dragon's att points, but I am not finished yet!”. Zane now also activated the spell ”Limiter removal”. He equipped it to his monster. Now ”Cyber ogre 2” had doubled it's att points. It now had 9200 att. Zane attacked with the monster and destroyed Cyber end dragon. Sheppard looked at Zane.

”Doesn't it bother you, that you are destroying your own monster Zane!” Sheppard said worried and shocked. Zane only smirked.

”I only came for one reason!” Zane said ”To get that deck! How I do it is not important! Even if it means getting rid of an old friend!”. Zane's monster destroyed the dragon, and created a lot of dust and wind. A flag who was hanging in the background fell to the floor and revealed a little whole in the wall. Zane noticed a deck case. He knew this was the underworld deck. Sheppard's life points hit zero and he lost the duel. He fell to the ground! Zane walked over to the hole and took out the underworld deck. Zane looked at the cards. This looked promising.

”Wait!” could Zane hear Sheppard say in the background. He was up on his feets again. Zane turned around and looked at him, then he began walking away.  

”Be thankful I spared you Sheppard!” Zane said cold ”I could have taken this duel much further!”. Zane could hear Sheppard groan in pain. He didn't care.

”Wait Truesdale!” Sheppard said and tossed Zane a medal. ”Take this with you!”. Zane looked at it. It was a silver medalje, with a red and silver ribbon on it. A ”G” and a ”X” was engraved on it. Zane looked confused at it.

”What is this?!” He asked. Shepard smiled.

”Do you wanna know where I have been all this time?!” Sheppard asked and smiled ”I have been traveling around the world. Finding good pro duelists, and gather them to this event! This medal is the ticket to enter the ultimate tournament I am sponsoring! It will be your best interest to join!”. Zane looked at the medal and snort.

”I am not good at contests!” Zane said. Shepard smiled.

”It is on duel academy island. You can duel the best of the best!” Sheppard said. Zane looked at him again. I could have an excuse to see Tara again, thought Zane. He would never say that out loud of course. Zane looked at his new deck.

”Hmm I will think about it!” Zane said in a cold voice ”But maybe I will! Then I can try out my new deck too!”. Then he left the temple again.

A,N: Well that was that chapter. Thought we needed something about Zane. However in the next chapter, the Gx tournament begins. There will be a lot of fun, a little action and a little with Tara and Sartorius! It is going to be interesting!
