Normal P.O.V

It was a normal morning and the sun was about to rise. Everyone on Academy Island was fast asleep. However, at the Slifer Red dorm, something was happening.

A car, which had the likeliness of a car from the military, approached the Slifer dorm. Professor Banner woke up, because of the noise and saw..

"The Disciplinary Action Squad!" he exclaimed. "What are they doing here? Oh no, they're heading towards Jaden and Syrus's room"

"Open up! We know you're in there!" screamed a female voice. Jaden woke up groggily, complaining about why someone was waking him up in the middle of the night. "Open this door or we'll break it down!" screamed the voice again. Jaden quickly opened the door and was surrounded by the tag force.

"Jaden Yuki, Syrus Truesdale" said a woman which happened to be the leader. "We're taking you to the detention area. You have trespassed at the forbidden dorm and are most likely going to be expelled"

"WHAT?!" screamed Jaden and Syrus in union.

Tara P.O.V

Tara, Bastion,Chumley, Alexis and her two friends were waiting outside of the detention area. They were all waiting for Jaden and Syrus. Tara was angry and nervous. She didn't want to lose her brother and Syrus for the that mater. Bastion was mumbling something about that technically, they couldn't send them away. He was then saying something about that they could.

The others decided not to listen to them. Alexis' s friends were sending Tara an evil look, but luckily they couldn't do anything, because there were too many people. Chumley mumbled something about grilled cheese. No one was commenting on that either. Suddenly, the door opened. Jaden was slightly smiling, but Syrus on the other hand was crying. Tara and the others immediately stood up from their chairs to speak to the duo.

"What happened in there?" Tara asked. "They didn't expel you, did they?"

Jaden was still smiling. "No, they didn't. They're actually giving us a chance to redeem ourselves," he said. "If we have any chance of staying here, then we have to beat a couple of duellists in a tag duel. That was the terms that were laid out for us, so it's no big deal."

Syrus was still crying. "That's easy for you to say" he said in an angry voice. "You're a super duellist who hardly gets afraid of a challenge, Jaden, but what about me? I'm just gonna drag you down"

And before anyone could do anything, Syrus had left the area, crying.

Jaden looked confused at the others. "Okay, did I say something wrong or...?"

Tara looked angry at him. How much clueless could he even get? "Of course you did, you stupid idiot" she screamed. "Can't you understand the pressure that Syrus is feeling because he was made your Tag Partner? He's probably thinking that the both of you will end up losing the entire duel because of him"

Jaden looked in the direction that Syrus had run off to, and then back to look at Tara, a confused expression on his face.

Tara sighed, annoyed at the fact that her brother was as clueless as ever.

Alexis intervened in the conversation. "Jaden, maybe you and Syrus just need to train together in order to get ready for the duel," she suggested. "That way, you can be able to strategise for the duel when it comes up, and will you feel more prepared than you are now."

Jaden face lit up. "Oh yeah, and we can have practice duels in the process. Then, I can say sorry to Syrus too"

He rushed after Syrus. The others looked at them and a little bit after they followed Jaden.

Time skip, at Obelisk Blue girls dorm...

"I thought we told you to stay away from Alexis!" the two girls screamed at Tara. They were in Tara's room. Tara had the door opened to her room, when the two girls had surprised her. Tara was lying on the bed at that time, when the two girls quietly approached her. They had forced her towards the wall and was looking evilly at her.

Tara was too surprised to do anything. The two girls had a bottle of soda in the hands. Without any warning, they poured the soda down at Tara. Tara felt the sticky liquid on her body. It also burned a little, because it was soda and it hit the eyes, but Tara didn't say anything. She didn't even say something, when Mindy and Jasmine was kicking her in the stomach. A little bit after they stopped.

"This is your second warning! Stay away from Alexis!" said Jasmine cruelly.

"Yeah and if you don't, we will do even more cruel things to you, Tara" Mindy said and they left.

Tara sighed. Tara looked at herself. Her school uniform was ruined and her body smelled like Cola. Luckily she had some extra uniform, but Tara needed a bath. She could not attend to school like this. Maybe she should skip a day? Tara got up and walked towards the bathroom.

Tara had just finished her bath. It had been a long one, with every shampoo she could find. Tara still had the feeling that her body smelled like cola. However, suddenly her PDA was ringing. Tara grabbed it and found out that it was her brother, Jaden. He looked angry at the screen.

"Tara" he said. Tara first thought that her brother was angry at her,because she had skip the school for today, but it was not the reason why he called. "Tara, I need a favor"

Tara looked confused at her brother. "Why? What favour?" she asked him.

Jaden had a really puzzled look on his face. "Well, you see...Syrus..."

It looked as if he was hesitating for a moment, before he finally nodded his head. "You know Zane, correct?"

Tara looked puzzled for a moment. Then she remembered the dark blue haired Obelisk boy at the school exam where she defeated Alexis.

"Well, I only met him a few times. Why'd you ask that question?" she asked. She needed to tell Jaden about her bullies, but couldn't say it. Jaden looked angry on the screen.

"Because I need to duel him. And as soon as possible. He's the reason why Syrus is so doubtful of his duelling - according to Syrus, Zane once told him that he didn't know the difference between using a card and playing it" Jaden said angry. "And there's no way I'm going to let that stand any longer. So I tried writing a duel request to Zane, but Crowler destroyed my request as soon as he saw it"

Tara squirmed on the spot. She didn't know what to do about something like this. On one hand, she wanted to help Jaden get Syrus over his fear. But on the other hand was the thought of talking to the Top Student of Duel Academy, who she barely knew at all.

"I don't know, Jaden," she slowly said. "I mean, I never really talked properly to the guy."

"Come on, Tara, Please" her brother whined. "I'm begging you, please do this. I can't help my friend otherwise, because he is on the verge of leaving! You have to speak to Zane, so I can duel him and help Syrus get over his doubts. Please, Tara!"

He had those puppy eyes on the screen, and Tara eventually sighed, coming to the conclusion that her twin was going to keep asking her until she said yes.

"Okay, Okay. I'll talk to him...but Jaden, there is something..." But were interrupted by Jaden. He was looking back over his shoulder, and his eyes went wide.

"Oh, you've gotta be kidding me! Tara, I need to go. Bye. " he frantically said and hung up.

Tara blinked. Well, that was a quick goodbye. She really needed to talk to him. She sighed again and looked through the address book and found Zane's NR. The PDA was ringing. However, no one answered. Tara looked at the clock. It was around 1 o,clock. Some students might be having lessons. Tara decided to pay Zane a visit instead. Tara took a little perfume on. She didn't want anyone to find out that about the cola incident.

When she arrived at the Boys dorm, two mean Obelisk guys were fighting against Jaden. Tara could see that her brother wanted to enter the Blue's dorm, to duel Zane. However, the boys wouldn't let him in. She also saw them trowing water at him. Tara was angry, but she didn't approach the boys. Instead, she went to Jaden, who was sitting on the ground and looked angry at the Blue dorm.

"Jaden, Hey, are you okay?" asked Tara, crouching down next to him. He looked at Tara.

"Oh, I'll be fine! What are you doing here, sis?" Jaden asked, getting up onto his feet.

"Well, Zane wasn't answering his PDA, so I thought I would pay him a visit" Tara said. "But it makes me wonder why you're here."

Jaden scowled. "Syrus is missing. Chumley told me that he hasn't seen Syrus for a while, and me and him were searching. I came here to get Zane's attention, but..." He turned towards the two Obelisk boys. "...that obviously isn't WORKING now, is it?"

"Well, technically speaking, you're not an Obelisk Blue student. You wouldn't be able to get in there in the first place," Tara pointed out. "However, that shouldn't be a problem for me."

She looked at her brother, noticing that he was still dripping wet. "Look, go back to the Slifer dorm and get a fresh change of clothes on, or you'll catch a cold," she said. "I'm going to try and talk to Zane for you, and if he does agree to duel you, I will call you straight away."

Jaden sighed in relief, smiling slightly. Tara smiled in return. After all, she was happy because he was happy.

"You are awesome, you know that? I'm going now, but I owe you big time for this" He was running towards the Slifer Red dorm. He was waving at her.

"You better!" she yelled back and walked towards the boys dorm. The boys from before was not stopping her, and she walked inside the dorm. However, she had no idea where Zane's room was, and after a little time she got lost. She was walking through the halls, when she met Chazz and his stupid henchmen.

"Well, look who we have here" said Chazz and smirked at her. "If it isn't Jadens little sister. What brings you here? Are you here to hang out with the best duelists?"

"Yeah," Tara said with her hands on her hips. "Could you possibly tell me were he is?"

Chazz looked angry at her. He grabbed her by her wrist and slammed her into the wall. Normally, Tara could free her from his grip pretty easy, but because of the pain from her stomach, she couldn't move. She closed her eyes because of the pain.

"I meant me! Stupid girl. Why are you here?!" Chazz snarled.

"I'm here to visit Zane" Tara said and looked angry at Chazz. "Now let go of me"

"Zane, huh?" Chazz asked with an evil tone. "He doesn't have time for you, but I on the other hand do. How about a kiss?" Tara looked shocked at Chazz.

"No thank you" She said and tried to get out of his grip. Chazz was smirking.

"You don't get to choose" he said and approached her. Tara closed her eyes and waited for that stupid kiss. However, it never came. The grip around her hands was loosened. Tara opened her eyes and saw Zane? !

He had grabbed Chazz's hand, and held it at such an angle, that Tara thought that Chazz's hand was going to break. And the look on Zane's face when he was starring at Chazz's henchmen was downright terrifying. They looked scared and after several seconds of cowering, they ran away whilst leaving Chazz behind.

"Chazz," Zane said in an emotionless tone, his iron grip on Chazz's hand tightening. "Since when do you force a girl to kiss you?"

"Hey, let go of me, man!" Chazz exclaimed, writhing in pain from Zane's insane iron grip. "I can do whatever I want"

Zane sent him a very dark glare, but a few seconds later, he let go of Chazz's hand, the obnoxious duellist clutching it in agony.

"If I ever catch you doing that again to her, or any other girl from any Dorm, not only will report you to the Chancellor about this, but I will make damn sure that you'll get expelled. Do I make myself clear?" Zane demanded in a loud voice.

Chazz mumbled something, but a little bit after that, he nodded and left.

Zane looked concerned at Tara. "You okay?"

Tara nodded. "Thank you. But why did you save me?" she asked him, frowning at his actions.

Zane was lifting an eyebrows. "Well, not all Obelisk Blue boys are like this, and did you want him to kiss you?" Zane said and smiled.

Tara looked at him and shrugged. "No, I didn't want him to kiss me. But since you're here, Zane, it makes it easier to talk to you. You see, you're actually the reason why I'm here," Tara said.

Zane lifted an eyebrow again. "Really? Wasn't expecting that. How about we take this conversation in my room? That way, we can talk in private."

Zane pointed at his room, which just happened to be close to where they were now. Tara shrugged and followed Zane. He, of course, left the door open. They placed themselves in two comfortable armchairs. Zane looked at her.

"So...may I ask what it was that you wanted to talk about?" Zane asked.

"Well...truth be told, I'm actually here because of my brother. He wants a duel against you." Tara said and she saw Zane sighed. Apparently, he gets this request a lot.

"Honestly Tara, I'm getting many challenges and duel requests these days, Tara," Zane said, but frowned for a moment as he began thinking. "Wait, Your brother is Jaden Yuki, right? The one who was late at the Entrance Exam and was the one who defeated Dr. Crowler. That's him, right?"

Tara nodded. "Yeah, that's him. He's my twin brother who wields the Elemental HERO deck."

Zane looked a little bit more interested, because he sat forwards and leaned his elbows on his knees. "Well, why does he wants to duel me?" he asked curiously.

"Well, it has something to do with Syrus, his friend at the Slifer Dorm. Apparently, you said something to him a while ago when he was younger, and it's the reason why he's so doubtful of his duelling abilities. So because of that, Jaden wants to duel you to help Syrus get over those doubts. That's all he's told me on the subject," Tara said.

She saw Zane sighing again. Apparently, this was a topic that wasn't that new for him.

"Syrus hasn't told you the whole story, has he?" Zane asked, sighing through his nose and pinching it. "No, of course he wouldn't. He's too embarrassed about it. Well, something tells me that you're gonna find out soon. Because you may as well know the truth if you and your brother hangs out with Syrus."

Tara looked at Zane. There was something he was clearly hiding. At that moment, Zane looked at the clock.

"Well, I've got to go. I'm meeting up with Alexis at the lighthouse now," he said and got up on his feet, Tara doing the same thing. "You can come with us if you want to?"

Tara hesitated. She had not forgotten Alexis's friends this time. However, there were something special about Zane, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"Sure, why not?" she said and followed Zane out of the room.

Jaden P.O.V

Jaden was in the bathroom at the Slifer dorm. He was wiping his hair clean, when suddenly Chumley was rushing towards him. He looked seriously stressed, and looked like he was about to collapse from exhaustion.

"There you are, Jaden" Chumley gasped out. He was out of breath. "I couldn't find Syrus, but I found something - he left this."

Chumley showed Jaden a note which Syrus was telling that he would leave Duel Academy. Jaden looked angry at the note and destroyed it.

"Come on, Chumley. We've got to stop him from leaving the island" Jaden exclaimed and ran out of the Dorm.

"Wait, we're running again?! But I'm hungry" complained Chumley, but he chose to follow Jaden anyway.

"Syrus! Syrus! Where are you?" Jaden screamed as hard as he could. Still nothing. But Jaden had a feeling that Syrus wouldn't answer anyway.

Damn it, he thought, where could he be?!

Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke out next to him. Jaden turned his head, and saw that it was Winged Kuriboh.

"Kuri, kuri" it squeaked and pointed in a direction.

"That way, you say?" Jaden asked and followed the little spirit.

Syrus, we're gonna find you, though Jaden, just you wait.

Chumley was following close behind Jaden, too tired to run as fast as Jaden. They went up a steep cliff, and down there, between the rocks, was Syrus. He had built a raft and was about to leave in a hurry, because he saw his friends.

OH, NO YOU DON'T! Jaden screamed in his head, and jumped onto the raft. Funnily enough, the raft broke and Jaden and Syrus fell into the water. Luckily, it was swallow.

"Jaden, why are you trying to stop me?" Syrus yelled out desperately. "If I leave, then you'll get a new Tag Partner and you will win your duel for sure"

"Syrus, that's enough. That's your brother talking" Jaden angrily told him. "Be more confident"

"No! I suck. I'm a lost cause" said Syrus. Jaden clenched his fist tightly.

Damn it. His brother really got to him, he thought.

"He's right you know," said a voice suddenly. Jaden looked up and saw, Alexis, Tara and a new guy on a cliff a little away from here. Jaden found out that the new guy was Zane. He had this weird conversation with Syrus about dropping out and Syrus lost more of his confidence. Jaden looked at Zane in annoyance.

"Hey, you don't have to say all those cruel things to him. He is your brother" Jaden yelled out loud. Zane just looked at him.

"I am saying these things because I know him better than you know him," Zane pointed out. "He does not belong here."

Jaden looked angrily at him. Alright, he thought. I've heard enough of this.

"Okay, that does it. Duel me, right here, right now!" screamed Jaden, slamming his duel disk onto his arm.

Zane looked at him coldly, but after looking at Tara, he then looked back at Jaden.

"Well, since your sister asked me so nicely, I'll accept you request to duel me. It has been a long time since I actually duelled anyone from the Slifer Red dorm."

They went all back to the lighthouse and began duelling.

Tara P.O.V

Tara looked at her brother and Zane, sighing. She had went together with Zane to the lighthouse and found out that Syrus actually was Zane's younger brother. Well, that figures. Tara looked at Zane again. Apparently Zane had said some really cruel stuff to Syrus and he had lost his confidence, but Tara couldn't feel that kind of evil brother love from Zane. She just couldn't.

The duel began. Jaden and Zane was destroying each others monster, turn by turn. They were even! Zane now had his Cyber Twin Dragon on the field, but Jaden had just Fusion Summoned Elemental HERO Mudballman in def. It was now Zane's turn. He got a card from his Different Dimension Capsule spell card and added it to his hand.

He was giving some compliments to Jaden, and was telling something about how there was a difference in knowing about the card and actually playing it. Tara could see that these words were hitting Syrus a bit.

Zane used Power Bond and Fusion Summoned his strongest monster - the towering Cyber End Dragon and because he used Power Bond, his dragon had double its original att points. It now had eight thousand att. Zane attacked Jaden. His monster gave piercing damage and Zane won the duel.

"That duel was awesome" Tara could hear Jaden say.

Tara smiled. Her brother had a fun duel and that's what counted. Zane and Alexis was about to leave. Tara smiled at Jaden and waved at him.

"Bye, and Jaden remember. You owe me big time" said Tara and smiled. Jaden was waving back at her. Tara caught up to Zane and Alexis.

"Well, that was a fun duel," said Tara and smiled.

"Yeah," Zane said, looking wistfully over his shoulder to see Jaden, Syrus and Chumley running back to the Slifer Dorm, before turning to smile at Tara. "Your brother is good. But he's also a good friend to Syrus."

Tara smiled. "That's just how he is. My stupid brother"

Tara looked up to the stars and thought, The next King of Games. She was smiling.
