Jaden P.O.V

"Can I please have your attention" Professor Banner called out. "I have something to tell you all".

All the students at the Slifer dorm stopped talking and eating. Jaden pushed Chumley a little, as he was still chewing. They were sitting in the Slifer dorms cafeteria and were having dinner.

"This is Blair Flanagan, a new transfer student." A tiny, thin boy was standing behind Banner. He was wearing the Slifer school uniform and was wearing a big cap that covered the top of his head. Syrus and Chumley sighed.

"I should stop chewing for a transfer student," said Chumley, clearly annoyed at having to stop eating.

"Hey, this kid looks smaller and cuter than me," Syrus quietly exclaimed and sighed. "My days as your sidekick are over"

Jaden looked confused at the two boys, and decided to pep the atmosphere a little bit up. "Hey Blair, welcome to the Slifer's. S...L...I...F...E...R...Slifer Red"

He rushed to Blair and grabbed his hand. "We're the best place on campus. We're not some stupid brainiac student!"

Blair got out of Jaden's grip and was hiding behind Banner.

"Jaden, you don't understand," began Banner, but Jaden interrupted him.

"What is there to not understand professor?" Jaden asked.

"Well, every transfer student is always starting at Slifer but with Blair's grades, he'll be in Ra in a few days or two" Banner said.

Jaden was just grinning. "Yeah, that's a good joke professor. Next thing you're gonna tell us is that you will have Blair live in our room because of the extra space, right?"

Banner looked surprised at Jaden, but a little bit after he smiled. "That's a good idea Jaden." Banner looked at Blair. "Blair, you will stay with Jaden and his friends during your stay with us."

Jaden looked surprised. This was not what he meant. Blair bowed and greeted everyone. Jaden was stuck with this new transfer student.

Tara P.O.V

Tara was standing in her room at Obelisk Blue and was getting ready for today's sessions. She had just got dressed when someone knocked on her door. Tara opened the door and saw Alexis, Mindy and Jasmine standing outside of the door, the latter pair standing well back.

"Hey. Are you ready?" asked Alexis. "All the students should assemble in the hall today. Something about who should represent the school for the up coming School Duel against North Academy."

Tara shrugged, walking back to her seat. "Almost. I just need to brush my hair. It's a nightmare as it is."

"Here, let me help you," Alexis said, grabbing the brush out of Tara's hand. She helped brushed Tara's long brown hair. When they were finished, Tara closed the window to the balcony and got out of the room with her friends.

"And we are still up for suggestion...Maybe one of you is the one to represent our school" said Shepard.

He was talking from the screen at the assembly of students that had gathered around. Tara was standing in line together with Alexis and the other first years from Obelisk Blue. A little away in the front, was Zane standing together with the other third year student.

Tara's heart was still jumping every time she saw him. She tried to forget him, by looking over at the Slifer group. She was looking for her twin brother and found Jaden a little away, talking together with Syrus. The meeting was over. Tara decided to pay them a visit.

"Hey Jay" she said and ran towards her brother and his friend.

He turned around and waved at her. "Hey, Sis. How are you doing?" he asked with a smile.

"Great. It is going great. I was thinking about paying you all a visit one day."

"Ooh, bad timing," Syrus said with a sigh. "Our room is way too crowded right now. Jaden was trying to lift our mood, and got us hooked up with a new transfer student"

Jaden was awkwardly smiling and turned towards the new student. "Um Blair Flanagan, this is my sister, Tara Yuki" he said, trying to introduce Blair to Tara.

Tara looked at the new student. There was something weird about him. Tara got lost in her thoughts. When she woke up, Jaden and Syrus was talking about who should represent the school. Jaden wanted to be the one, but Syrus said it would probably be Zane again. Tara's heart skipped a beat again. She looked at him. He was talking a bit with Alexis. Suddenly, he looked at Tara, and Tara turned her eyes away from Zane and she saw that Blair maybe was looking at Zane.

Tara had chosen to follow her brother back to Slifer dorm. She didn't have anything to do anyway. Jaden was again talking about becoming the school representative with Syrus. Chumley was already back at the Slifer dorm and was probably taking a nap. Blair was off somewhere. The trio were close at the girls dorm, when Tara and Jaden spotted Blair sneaking around the dorms. Jaden and Tara looked at each other and nodded. They both ran after Blair.

"Um we have something to do" they both in unison to Syrus, and disappeared.

They followed Blair. He climbed up a big tree, and jumped off a branch and into one of the Obelisk Boys room. Tara looked at Jaden and they both nodded, following Blair. Tara had a feeling she had been in that room before. The twins hid themselves on the balcony, peaking around the corner of the doorway.

Blair was sneaking around in the room, and grabbed someones deck, and now Tara knew where they were. It was Zane's room! Tara could see the monster card Cyber Dragon in Blair's hand and...hold on, was she cuddling the cards?

Tara was about to scream something to that boy, when Jaden quietly cursed.

"Oh crap, we've got company" he said and was pointing in another direction. Tara turned around and saw Zane and three Obelisk boys. They were about to enter the dorm. Tara could hear them talking about hanging out in Zane's room.

Knowing that they had a very limited time frame, the twins rushed into the room. Blair looked surprised at them.

"Look, we don't know what your deal is," Tara snapped, "but you need to get away from here! They're coming"

"Why are you here?!" Blair demanded in confusion.

"Is that really important right now?!" Jaden exclaimed, grabbing Blair. "You need to get out of here!"

He rushed out of the room with Blair, and in the confusion, Blair lost his cap and dropped Zane's cards on the floor. Both Jaden and Tara looked shocked. Blair had long hair and a hair clip was falling to the floor. Blair was actually a girl.

"Holy Ra!" screamed Jaden. "You're a girl!"

Tara was as surprised as Jaden. Blair grabbed her cap and rushed down the tree. The twins were about to follow her, when someone was talking to them.

"Hey, what the hell are you two doing in Zane's room?!" Tara turned around and saw Zane and the other three Obelisk boys. They had just entered the room.

"Um...nothing" the twin's said in unison again, slowly trying to escape out of the room. They were close at the tree branch now.

"Wait a moment, they weren't just in your room, they were looking at your cards as well, Zane!" said one of the Obelisk boys.

"Well, we are about to leave now" Jaden said and was trying to get on the tree branch again. Tara was just behind him.

"Yeah, you have a nice day boys" said Tara, but they were both stopped by the three Obelisk boys.

"Where do you think you are going?!" one of them demanded. They had grabbed one of Tara's arms and Jaden's jacket. "We're gonna send you to Dr. Crowler's office"

"No, anything but him!" screamed the twins again. Jaden had grabbed the carpet on the floor and was trying to hold on, but the two boys were too strong for him. Tara had grabbed one of the pillars on the balcony with one of her hands, and the third boy was trying to drag her away from there.

"This is just a big misunderstanding! " screamed Jaden.

"Yeah, he's right!" said Tara, but the boys dragged them towards the door anyway. They were about to leave the room, when Tara could hear Zane say:

"Let them go,". The boys and the twins looked confused.

"What?" they all said in confusion.

Zane turned around and looked at them all. "Do you want me to reconsider, you two?" he asked.

Tara and Jaden shook there heads. The other Obelisk boys let go of them. Jaden rushed out of the room quickly. Tara was still standing. The Obelisk boys were saying some excuse and left the room.

Zane looked at Tara. "Why aren't you leaving?" he asked. Tara shrugged.

"I...still hadn't said thanks to you for saving my life," she said. "So...thanks."

She bowed at Zane. Zane smiled a little sad smile at her.

"Oh, it's okay Tara, you really don't have to thank me," he said.

"Yes, I do!" said Tara. "If there is anything I can do to repay you, just name it."

"Well, there is nothing right now" said Zane.

They both looked silent at each other. Tara couldn't bring herself to say anything right now. Tara crouched down and grabbed Zane's cards from the floor.

"Here," she said, giving Zane his cards back. "I better go now."

Tara was about to leave the room, when Zane grabbed her wrist, making her turn around to face him him.

"You know...you can always visit me right?" he said. "But instead of using the tree, could you please use the door?"

Tara looked a little surprised at Zane. A little bit after, she smiled at him.

"Yeah, that's...good to know," she said and grinned. "But maybe it is funnier to climb the tree. And I'm sorry for trespassing in your room."

She got out of Zane's grip and rushed slowly out of the room, until Zane couldn't see her, then she was running away from there and back to her dorm.

Jaden P.O.V

Jaden had just returned to Slifer dorm, after he had been out looking for Blair for so long. He was still a little bit shocked about the fact that Blair actually was a girl, and he wanted to know the truth. (He hasn't realized that Blair was in love with Zane yet). He couldn't figure out his sisters sad expression, when she saw that Blair was a girl, but Jaden hoped that when he found out the truth from Blair, he could help his sister from whatever problem she had.

Jaden entered his room. Blair was not there. Jaden could hear Chumley snore and Syrus wasn't there either. Jaden was climbing into his bed, his body in dire need of some relaxation. However, as soon as he laid his head down on his pillow, he felt something sticky on it. Jaden moved a little bit and found a note in the bed.

Addressed to Jaden Yuki.
You now know my secret. Meet me at the sea cliff after the sun has set.
And bring your sister with you as well.
Blair.

Jaden looked at the message intently, nodding to himself as he got out of his bed and looked at the sky. The sun was about to go down. He grabbed his PDA and called Tara.

"Hey sis, something came up..."

Zane P.O.V

Zane was standing at the lighthouse and was waiting for Alexis. He had asked her to meet him at the usually hideout. He needed to talk her about what had happened, and maybe even talk about Tara. He wasn't sure about that yet. The sun was almost gone.

"Well, you certainly know how to treat a girl, Zane," Alexis said as she showed up next to him. "Making her walk all the way out here in the middle of the night and all that." She grinned and teased him a little bit.

Zane sighed, but smiled a little smile at her. "Not now Alexis," he said, maybe a little too cold. "I need to talk to you about something."

Zane saw Alexis looking at him in confusion. Normally, he didn't have anything against her teasing humor, but today he was a little on edge.

"About what?" Alexis looked concerned at Zane. "If you're this serious, then it must be really important."

Zane shrugged. "I found Tara and Jaden sneaking around in my room today," he finally said.

"Jaden and Tara? Why would they be in your room? That's not like them at all," Alexis said, confusion and a little concern in her tone of voice.

"Well, I am not sure. However, Tara was thanking me for saving her life. She was in a real hurry after that. After she was gone, I found this on the floor." Zane showed Alexis the hair clip. Alexis looked surprised at it.

"It's a girls hair clip," Alexis said, after inspecting it.

"Yeah, I know that, but I wanna know if it's Tara's," he said.

Alexis shook her head. "No, it isn't. I know Tara, and her hairstyle - I've helped her sort it out a few times before. She never uses something like this."

"Something happened in my room, that much is for sure," Zane said, a confused look adorning his usually calm face. "I think we need to see the security footage. Wanna come?" Alexis nodded.

Jaden P.O.V

Jaden was standing on the cliff, waiting for Tara to show up. She did say that she was coming. Blair hadn't come yet either. Jaden was looking up in the sky, when he suddenly heard a voice behind him.

"So, you chose to show after all." Jaden turned around and saw Blair. She was wearing her cap again and looking like a boy again.

"Where is your sister?" Blair demanded in a cold voice. "I told you to bring her."

"I told her and she said she was gonna show," Jaden said and sighed. "So, what's this secret girl stuff all about? Why didn't you tell us that you're a girl?"

"It's not your business! The only reason I called you and your sister out here, is because I want you two to keep my secret a secret"

Jaden smiled. "Well sure. We're not gonna tell anyone. But you could at least tell me why you need to pretend to be a boy," Jaden said, editing for an answer.

Blair wildly shook her head. "No! I don't need to tell you everything!" Blair almost screamed.

Jaden shrugged. "Well, you could at least duel me," he said.

"Duel you?" Blair asked in bewilderment. "How would that help anything?"

"Well, the way I see, having a duel with someone helps to see the truth about the person," Jaden said and gave Blair a duel disk from his backpack.

Blair looked at it. A little bit after she took it. "Okay, fine. But if I win, you and Tara have to keep quiet about my secret and I don't need to explain myself" she said. Jaden nodded and the duel began.

Tara P.O.V

Tara had just arrived at the cliff. She was standing on the hill were Jaden and Blair couldn't see her. She did hear all of Blair and Jaden's conversation, and she sighed. Her brother hadn't figured it out yet. He was as clueless as ever, and he even got Blair to duel him.

"There they are" Tara could hear someone say. She turned around and saw Syrus and Chumley running towards her, and hid themselves as well, so that Jaden and Blair could not see them either.

"Ugh, I knew it!" screamed Syrus. "Jaden had found a new buddy to be with!"

Tara smiled and was about to explain the situation to Syrus and Chumley, when another voice spoke.

"That's not it, Syrus," Tara could hear and turned around. Zane and Alexis were standing behind her. "Because Blair is not a guy. Blair is actually a girl."

Zane turned toward Tara and smiled. "Isn't that right Tara?"

Tara nodded, surprised. Zane continued. "The security camera showed us what really happened. Why didn't you just tell me?"

He looked worried at her. Tara sighed and shrugged. "I'm ain't the gossipy type, Zane. If Blair has a secret, I'm not the one who is going to squeal it out."

Alexis looked from Zane to Tara. Tara could see her eyes widen. She had figured it out, and apparently Zane, Chumley and Syrus hadn't.

"Just take a look at the duel they're having right now. I am sure you will figure it out," Tara said. The duel was about to begin.

Jaden P.O.V

They began the duel. Blair started off. She summoned Maiden in Love. Jaden looked confused at the monster - it only had 400 att. He summoned Elemental HERO Avian in att mode and attacked Blair's monster. Blair lost some points, but because of her Maiden's eff, it couldn't get destroyed in battle.

Suddenly, something weird was happening. Avian was rushing towards the Maiden. He was suddenly, and totally in love. Jaden was totally surprised. Blair explained the Maiden counter, and Avian got one. It was Blair's turn again. She used the spell Cupid's Kiss and added it to her Maiden. Blair then attacked Jaden again, and like last time, Blair lost points. However, this time the Maiden turned Avian against Jaden. His own monster was attacking him.

"Avian, are you nuts?!"Jaden screamed as Avian attacked him with its Quill Cascade attack. "Stop attacking me! Come on, snap out of it! She's only using you!"

But Avian attacked anyway and Jaden lost points too. Blair placed down a facedown. Now it was Jaden's turn again. He summoned Elemental HERO Sparkman and was trying to take down Avian, but Blair's trap prevented it. Instead, the Maiden got hit, Blair loses points, and Jaden's monster get's a Maiden counter. It was Blair's turn again. She used a spell and the Maiden and Avian got married. The Maiden gained Avian's att points (1400) and attacked Sparkman. Jaden could only look in annoyance when his own monster again attacked him and Jaden only had 400 lp left. Jaden drew again and decided to summon Elemental HERO Burstinatrix, which happened to be a woman.

And as soon as they saw their female friend, Avian and Sparkman instantly panicked from the cold, burning look in her eyes.

"Burstinitrix!" Avian exclaimed, sweat-dropping. "Uh...I know this looks bad...but uh -"

"Save it," Burstinitrix snapped, glaring at the winged HERO. "You two are pathetic. But your honeymoon is ending right now!"

"Crap, we're in for it now" Sparkman panicked.

Only a woman could beat another one, Jaden thought with a smirk. He then used the spell Burst Return: with Burstinitrix out on his field, he could bring his two stolen HERO's back into his hand. And he knew that the effect was instant, because Avian and Sparkman instantly lost their love struck expressions.

"What was I thinking?!" Avian shouted in horror, clutching his head. "I didn't want to get married"

"Oh boy, Sparkwoman is never going to forgive me" Sparkman also said, blushing uncontrollably.

"How about you two guys get over her right now, or I'll tell the entire deck" Burstinitrix threatened with a snap. Instantly, the two HERO's returned to Jaden's hand.

He then used Polymerization to merge Avian and Burstinitrix to Fusion Summon Elemental HERO Flame Wingman, and won the duel.

Blair sighed. "Well, guess I have to tell you my secret," she said.

Jaden shook his head. "You don't have to. I saw everything that I needed to know in our duel, Blair," he said and smiled.

============
Tara P.O.V

Tara looked at Zane the whole time Blair and Jaden duelled.

She wanted to see how long it would take him to finally realize that the girl had a crush on Zane, just like Tara had. She had realized it, when she found out that Blair actually was a girl, and she kind of got jealous.

Zane finally figured it out close at the ending of the duel. With the help of Alexis, of course. Now they were standing near Jaden and Blair at the sea cliff side, and saw that Jaden had won the duel over Blair. Jaden had luckily also found out that Blair was in love with Zane, and he was waving at Tara and the others. Blair turned around and looked at Zane.

"Guess you all found out my little secret," Blair began and blushed at Zane. "I was the one who snuck inside your dorm room, not Tara or Jaden. And I have been in love with you ever since I met you."

Tara looked at Zane to see his reaction, but he just shrugged a little. "Yeah, we met at the Nationals, if I'm correct in remembering," he said in a plain voice.

Blair nodded. "And now that I am here, we can get married" Blair almost screamed.

Tara was coughing. She was so surprised by those words that she swallowed her spit. Her brother was hitting her on the back.

Alexis was trying to explain that love didn't work like that. She had to be honest and true to herself. Tara looked at Alexis in surprise, but didn't say anything. Blair only got angry at Alexis because she thought she would steal Zane for herself. Luckily, Zane interfered.

"Blair, I'm flattered that you like me, but I'm sorry to say that I don't love you back. You see, I already have someone that I love," he said, giving Blair her hair clip back. "And now it is time to go home"

Tara looked surprised at Zane. He was already in love with someone else? Who?!

She could hear her brother in the background say something about Blair being in the second grade, but Tara didn't even hear him.

Tara felt weird. If Zane already loved someone, then he would never accept my feelings either. She felt heartbroken and was beginning to cry. She turned around and rushed away from the cliff.

Tara was sitting on a hill inside of a clearing in the forest.

She was crying. She didn't know what to do. She never felt heartbroken before. She was just crying. That was the only thing she could do. Suddenly, she could hear someone step on a broken branch. She turned around and saw her brother enter the clearing. He was calling her name. A little bit after, he saw her and rushed towards her.

"Sis, where have you been? I've been looking for you everywhere. Why are you sitting out here, all by yourself?" he asked when he approached her.

Then he saw her crying and instantly hugged her. Tara instantly hugged him back. She was sobbing.

"Tara, what's the matter? Why are you crying?" he asked again.

Tara was trying to say something. She was trying to wipe her tears away. "Zane!" she sobbed. "He said he loved someone else!"

She was hugging Jaden again, not wanting to look him in the eyes.

"That's the problem?" he said while hugging Tara. "I could tell and feel that something was wrong. Look, you're overreacting, Tara. He told Blair that he loved someone else. He didn't say that to you, didn't he?"

Tara's eyes was still crying, but a little bit after she pulled back from Jaden. "But...but if he loves someone else, Jay...then he would also reject my feelings and...I just know he doesn't love me. Why should he?"

She began sobbing again. Jaden pulled her back into another hug. He was rocking her a little bit before he pulled back and lay down on the ground. Tara followed his example. They were looking at the stars. Tara had stopped crying.

"I may not know much about relationships, but I do know that you need to ask him," Jaden said a little while after. "You could be lucky and the one he loves is you, Tara. If he doesn't then there is nothing we can do about it, but at least you'd know. You're only just torturing yourself if you don't."

Tara let out a sigh. "Yeah I know. One day maybe, but not now, Jay"

"Alright then," he said and sighed. "But at least go with me to the harbor and say goodbye to Blair."

Tara nodded and followed Jaden.

Jaden P.O.V

Jaden was looking concerned at his sister. He didn't want her to be so sad, and decided that he wanted to cheer her up a little bit after Blair had left. They were on the way to the harbor. Tara had borrowed the Slifer Red dorms bathroom.

Jaden saw that her eyes was still a little red, when she left, but at least she was smiling. They both met the whole gang. Tara was hiding a little bit behind Jaden, when she saw that Zane was there. Jaden just pushed her up in the front.

"You can't hide away from your fears," Jaden told her. "If you don't want to tell him your feelings, then that's okay. But at least talk to him."

Tara mumbled something Jaden couldn't hear. The others looked at them.

"Where have you been?" asked Alexis. "We were worried."

"Well, we were looking at the stars," Jaden lied. "Right Tara?"

Tara nodded. "Yeah! I love looking at the stars."

Jaden looked at his sister. That was not a total lie, but she was only looking at the stars when she was sad.

They joined the rest of the group. Blair was already on the ship. The group was just waiting for the ship to leave.

"So, Tara," Zane suddenly said. Both Jaden and Tara looked at him. "I apologize for thinking you were the one who trespassed into my room. You were only following Blair. Can you forgive me?"

Jaden looked at his sister to wait for her to respond.

"Of course I can," said Tara. "I wasn't even mad at you."

Jaden could hear Zane sigh, relieved. Jaden looked at Alexis. She nodded.

Jaden was about to push Tara a little closer to Zane, when he was interrupted by Blair. The ship was about to leave.

"Goodbye everyone! I will be back as soon I am finished with school!" she screamed.

After she said that, Jaden couldn't stop teasing Zane a little. "You hear that, Zane? She will come back for you"

"Oh please" Zane snorted and shrugged. "By the time she finishes school, I'll be long gone."

Jaden could see his sister smile a little and was surprised to see that Zane was looking back at Tara.

"Well, that means that Blair's little crush is over," Jaden said. "Right guys?"

"Um, I wouldn't be too sure about that" Tara said, grinning a little.

"Goodbye Jaden, my sweet prince. I love you!" Blair screamed.

Jaden yelped in horror, his face a mortified picture. Tara was laughing out loud and Alexis was smiling at him.

"What the-? Hey wait!" Jaden screamed. "I thought she liked Zane!"

"Well, she does," Alexis replied, jointing in on the laughter. "But apparently she loves you"

Jaden was totally stunned. Tara was patting Jaden on the shoulder.

"You've already got a little girlfriend," she said with a teasing sing-song voice.

Jaden looked at her in annoyance. Alexis was just grinning and was beginning to leave.

"Hey, Tara," Zane suddenly asked. "Do you wanna hang out?"

"Sure" said Tara. Jaden could hear that she was surprised. She left with Zane. Jaden looked at them, and then back at the ship and Blair.

"How did it turn into this kind of mess?" Jaden said out loud. He left towards his dorm.
