Normal P.O.V

It was a normal day of the Duel Academy. Dorothy, the shop owner, was preparing her new cargo of Duel Monster cards and food at the harbor. Little did she know that a mysterius guy was hiding under the water surface. It was a man and he wanted to go to Duel Academy, to find some news for his story. And not just any news, but the news about the missing students and the Abandoned Dorm.

Meantime...

Chancellor Sheppard and the rest of the teachers were having a meeting, together with Zane Truesdale, because he was the school representive last year. They were discussing who should represent the school.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Dr. Crowler screamed. "Clearly, Zane should represent our school once again!"

The chancellor was nodding. "Yes, you're right about the fact that Zane is the best student, but he is also a third year student. North Academy is using a first year student, hence why I think it's a good idea as to why we should as well. Any suggestions?"

Everyone was silent for a moment. Zane eventually looked at the Chancellor with a thoughtful expression.

"I recommend that the Yuki Twins should be nominated," he said.

The Chancellor looked suprised at Zane. "The Yuki Twins...so, either Tara or Jaden Yuki?" the Chancellor asked.

Zane nodded. "I've seen the two of them in action, sir. And I have to admit, they're pretty tough. I definitely recommend either one of them to be the School Representative." Crowler looked horrified after Zane said that.

"I agree: Jaden is by far one of the best - if not, the best - dueling student in my class," said Banner, stroking his cat. "If anyone has a chance of being this Academies Representative, then it's him."

"And Tara is one of the most hard working students in my dorm," Miss Fontaine added. "I've watched her closely for the past few months, and she has by far the most dedicated student I've met. See also has a shot at being the Representative for this Academy."

"Jaden came really close to beating me in our recent duel," Zane confidently said. "And Tara... She defeated Alexis - who was the toughest female duellist from Obelisk Blue - at our school exam. If that doesn't say anything, then I don't know what will."

The other teachers mumbled, most of them in agreement. Dr. Crowler got angry. "Wait, wait, wait!" he screamed. "I wanna nominate Bastion Misawa, from Ra Yellow!"

"Bastion Misawa from Ra Yellow, hmm," the Chancellor said, surprised from Crowler's outburst.

"Well, he is the student that calculates and studies the most. He always has high marks in all his tests and exams, and well...he's the perfect candidate!" Crowler said. He was sitting on the table and starring at the Chancellor.

"Well, how about we have a collection of duel matches then?" the Chancellor offered. The others all nodded.

Tara P.O.V

Tara was on her way to see Zane. He had told her that he had something to tell her in the morning, and Tara couldn't wait any longer. Since that day that Zane had asked her if she would like to hang out, they had hanged out every other day since then.

Even though Tara never told Zane her feelings for him, she had mentioned to Alexis (without mentioning Zane's name at all) that there were a boy she really liked, but didn't know what to do.

Alexis giggled a little at that, and was giving her some advice. For example, try to be his friend first, and Tara was surprised to learn that that advice was working. Zane was pretty easy to talk to. It was like talking to Alexis, without the girl stuff, of course.

She climbed up the tree and was on Zane's balcony, but she hesitated. Every time she visited Zane, it had always been through the door, and he had curtains for his windows. Tara looked at her PDA. The clock was only six in the morning. Tara swore a bit. She didn't think she was here this early. No wonder it was so quiet around here.

She was about to climb down the tree again, when she got a message on her PDA. Tara looked and saw it was from Zane, which she immediately read

Tara, I'm awake. I already know that you're out there, I can see your shadow through the curtains. The door is open and you can come in if you want.

Zane

Tara blushed a little. She didn't do that often anymore, but she was a little surprised that Zane already knew she was out there. She opened the door from the balcony and saw Zane sitting on the bed, sporting a small smirk.

"How did you know it was me?" Tara demanded, walking inside. "And why are you already awake?" she closed the door behind her and opened a little window.

"I guess for the same reasons you have. I simply couldn't sleep. And I could hear your footsteps on the balcony," he said and smiled. "Every time you take a step, it's like hearing an elephant stomping."

"Oh, really?" she sarcastically said, tossing a little bag at Zane. She was grinning too. "And what are you then? A bear?"

Zane grinned a little. "I sincerely hope not. I would've been in hibernation right about now, I think," he said and grinned. "What do you have in the bag?"

Tara grinned and sat down on his bed. "Booster packs. I'm thinking of reforming my deck a little, and I thought you might wanna help me restructure it."

Zane smiled at her. "Of course I will. And that's a good call, because I have something that you might want to hear," he said and smiled at Tara. Tara looked confused at him, however it did peak her interest.

"What is it?" Tara asked, with curiousity in her voice.

"Well, I have nominated you and your brother..."

Jaden P.O.V

"Wait, WHAT?! We're gonna have match for a spot to be one of the Academy's representative?!" Jaden screamed in excitement. They were sitting in Banner's classroom.

"Yeah, that's right," Banner said and was petting his cat. "You, your sister Tara and Bastion, have all been nominated as candidates to represent the school against North Academy."

Jaden was smiling. He was burning with passion. He looked around to find his sister. She was sitting behind Jaden, and beside Bastion, and they were both smiling at him.

"Sweet!" Jaden yelled out loud. "I'm totally gonna win this!"

Tara poked Jaden's shoulder. He turned around and saw the same flaming determination in Tara's eyes. Bastion looked pumped as well.

"Are you forgetting something?" Tara said. "I'm here too, you know, and I am winning"

Bastion was shaking his head. "Dream on, both of you," he said. "The one with the best deck is going to win, and that would, of course, be me."

Sparks was beginning to flow around the three students, and Banner quickly interfered.

"Save the fight for tomorrow," he said and smiled. "You all have one day to prepare, but I'm gonna tell you the rules for this fight."

Tara, Jaden and Bastion was really eager and listened.

"Tomorrow, we're gonna select - by random of course - two of you for the first battle. You'll all have a shot at each other so don't worry," Banner said when he saw the twins eyes. "Any one of you who wins two battles in a row will be the schools representative. If all of you only win one duel, you'll have to fight in a battle royal fight to select the winner."

The three students nodded. This was gonna be an amazing battle tomorrow. Jaden just knew it.

Time skip...after school

Jaden was on his way back to the Slifer dorm together with Syrus and Chumley, when they met an old man.

He was dressed in black clothes and a Slifer Red jacket. He had long brown hair that was styled into a pony tail. He was trying to talk to some students, but because he was a Slifer, no one wanted to talk to him. Jaden chose to approach him and in the end, he grabbed the old-timer to show him around the campus.

After a day of a lot of running, Jaden and the gang were chilling out in the Slifer dorm, after they had gotten their dinner of course. Jaden was looking at his deck for the upcoming battle tomorrow, and after a half hour, he was finished. The old man found Jaden's field spell card Skyscraper on the floor and Jaden slowly approached him.

"Hey, old man," Jaden said. "What you got there?"

"Hey, I'm not an old man, and my name is Gerard"

"Okay, Gerard it is," Jaden said with a smile. "Hey, you've got my Skyscraper card. Do you like this card too?"

"No way" Gerard said. "You first have to like dueling. "

Jaden and the others looked confused at him, and Gerard quickly changed it, and said it was because he was not good at duelling. Chumley agreed and said that if he looked at Jaden's duel tomorrow, then maybe he would like duelling again.

Gerard was asking them about the rumors of the missing students, and Jaden told him about the Abandoned Dorm. They all went to sleep after that.

Tara P.O.V

Tara and Alexis was standing in front of the Abandoned Dorm.

Alexis was putting her daily rose down beside the fence, like she always did, and Tara had dicided to join her. She had nothing better to do anyway.

"So, are you ready for tomorrow Tara?" Alexis asked.

Tara nodded. "Hell yeah, I am," she said in proud manner. "Zane helped me completely restructure my deck, so I'm pretty much all fired up and ready to go."

"Really? You don't say," Alexis said and chuckled. "You and Zane have spent a lot of time together lately. I can can only assume that he's the boy you have a crush on?"

Tara turned bright red. Alexis smiled at Tara's red face. Tara wanted to say something, but before she could, they heard sounds from the bushes. Gerard approached them.

"Hey there," he said. "Do you two know anything about the missing students from this dorm?"

He was pointing at the Abandoned Dorm. Tara and Alexis looked suspiciously at him. Tara then looked concerned at Alexis. She knew that this was a hard subject for her.

"It doesn't concern you," Alexis growled in a hard and cold voice. "And I'm not gonna tell you."

Tara and Alexis both left the Abandoned Dorm, leaving Gerard feeling frustrated for being denied information.

The next day.. at the duel field.

"Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls!" Dr. Crowler shouted. "It's now time for the Triple Duel Match, to get a spot as Duel Academy's Representative! In this corner, we have Bastion Misawa and Tara Yuki, but last and least of all, him there!"

Crowler pointed at Jaden when he said that last part. The crowd was going wild anyway. The three students were standing in front of the Chancellor. He had three straws. Two of them were marked with a red color at the bottom, and Sheppard was holding them, so no one could see them. They all draw a straw.

Dr. Crowler was screaming again. "For the first match, we have...Tara Yuki and Bastion Misawa!"

Tara looked and smiled at Bastion. He was smiling at her too.

"Well, Bastion," Tara said. "Now you will have your long awaited match"

"Yes, and even though I don't know your deck, I will still beat you," he replied.

Tara smirked, already activating her duel disk. "We'll see about that"

The duel began.

Tara: 4000 LP
Bastion: 4000 LP

"Ladies first" Tara announced and drew. She placed a monster facedown and placed a card facedown. It was Bastion turn. He summoned Hydrogeddon in att mode and attacked Tara's monster. It was the monster Sangan and Tara could add one monster card from her deck to her hand. Tara could hear her little spirit friend call to her, when she added its card.

Bastion's monsters effect activated, letting Bastion special summon another Hydrogeddon to the field, allowing Bastion to attack Tara with it. Tara used her facedown card. It was the trap card Magic Cylinder and Bastion got slammed by 1600 points of damage. He placed a card facedown and it was once again Tara's turn.

She summoned Mad Dog of Darkness (1900) in att mode. She attacked and destroyed one of Bastion's monster. She placed two facedown's and ended her turn.

Bastion drew and summoned Oxygeddon in def mode and placed a facedown card. Tara summoned a monster facedown and attacked Bastion again, but this time he was prepared and used the trap Wobaku, allowing his monster to escape destruction and the damage reduced to zero. Tara placed a facedown card again.

Bastion's turn and that turn really counted for him. He used the spell Living Fossil and got his Hydrogeddon back from the graveyard.

"And then I use the spell Bonding H20 - by sacrificing my two Hydrogeddon's and my Oxygeddon, I can therefore summon my all powerful Water Dragon, the strongest of my monsters," Bastion said and the Water Dragon (2800) appeared on the field in att mode.

Tara looked horrified for a moment, but she already had a plan to beat the monster. Bastion then summoned the monster Alpha the Magnet Warrior, and attacked Tara's face up monster with his Water Dragon, and she lost 900 points. He then attacked Tara's facedown monster. The little spirit appeared behind Tara, and Tara smiled when Bastion attacked it. He lost 1000 points.

"Sorry, but Marshmallon can't be destroyed in battle," Tara told him and smiled. "Of course, you already know that because you wouldn't be dueling me if you didn't."

Bastion looked slightly annoyed at that, but ended his turn by a placing a facedown card nonetheless.

Tara smiled and drew a card. She smiled again and revealed her face down card: Call of the Haunted and she got a monster back from the grave. She then sacrificed that monster to summon Jinzo from her hand.

Tara could hear the spirit Jinzo scream a little bit. He looked angry at Tara.

"Why did you summon me, Earth Girl?" he roared, but only people who could see spirits could hear that he was talking.

Tara smiled. "Well, I'm in a duel right now, and don't call me Earth Girl again. I'm not even using an EARTH deck right now. Plus, for the love of god, my name is Tara" she said.

She could hear Jinzo snort. Tara sighed. She got Jinzo to attack Bastion's Alpha the Magnet Warrior. Bastion only had 400 LP left. She then used the spell Marshmallon Glasses and equiped it on Marshmallon. Now, Bastion only could attack Marshmallon.

"Well, good strategy there," Bastion said and smiled. "You've certainly came a long way since last time I studied with you, but that's about to change. I activate the spell Fairy Meteor Crush and equip it to my Water Dragon. Now ATTACK!"

He attacked Marshmallon, as it was the only monster he could attack, but because of the spell he just used, he gave Tara piercing damage. She lost 2300 LP, leaving her with only 800 LP left. One more attack and it was over.

Tara smiled. Jinzo snorted at her again.

"I knew it. It was only luck when you defeated me" he said in a cruel manner.

Tara shook her head. "No, it wasn't. And I'm gonna show you right why. I draw! "

Tara drew and used the spell Pot of Greed, letting her draw two more cards. Tara smiled.

"Bastion, it was a good match but I'm gonna win now" Tara said.

Bastion looked confused at her. Tara summoned a monster in facedown position. She then used the spell Book of Taiyou and flipped the monster up in face up position. It was the monster Man Eater Bug. It eff activated and Tara destroyed Bastion's Water Dragon, allowing Jinzo to attack Bastion directly. She won the duel.

"The winner of the first match is Tara Yuki!" Dr. Crowler screamed.

Tara could see that he wasn't happy about it. The crowd was cheering her on really crazy. Tara was smiling and waving at the crowd. Bastion smiled and gave her his hand.

"It was a good duel, Tara. You really are good. I hope I can have a shot at you again. In battle royal mode that is," Bastion said.

Tara smiled and was about to say something, but were interrupted by Jaden, who was approaching them now.

"Hey, don't forget me Bastion!" Jaden exclaimed. "If you want to duel my sister again, you're gonna have to get past me first, and after that amazing match, I'm totally ready to get my game on. " Bastion smiled.

"I am not gonna lose again. I have studied you too Jaden, and I am gonna beat you".

"Your one" said Jaden and Tara could see the passion in the two boys eyes and sigh. The chancellor told them that they were gonna have 5 minutes break, before Jaden and Bastion's match. Tara thought it was a good idea. Then Bastion could get a little break, before he faced up against Jaden. Tara left the dueling field and joint the crowd. She was looking around for an empty seat.

"Hey Tara, up here!" yelled a voice. Tara followed the voice and saw Alexis waving at her. She was standing on the top floor like always, together with Zane. Tara rushed towards them. She grabbed a seat close to them. Zane and Alexis was standing behind her now.

"Congrat on you duel" said Alexis "It was a close duel, but you won". Tara smiled. To tell the truth it hadn't bin a close duel. Tara would have won over the waterdragon anyway. She had calculated Bastion's every move, and she had backup plans just in case. Zane looked at her.

"I don't think it was close" said Zane and bowed towards Tara "Let me guess, you had "spirit barrier" and "Barrel behind the door" trap cards on the field, and in your hand you had "Amplifier". You would have won anyway". Tara looked surprised at Zane and grinned.

"Yeah I had all these cards prepared just in cage. Zane you know me to well" Tara said. Zane grinned a little.

"Well I did help you with your deck" Zane said "So are you ready to take Jaden on as your next oppenent". Tara nodded.

"Well yeah I am ready, but it is my brother we are talking about..". Tara stopped her own conversation. Zane and Alexis looked confused at her.

Time skip in the middle of the duel..

Tara, Zane and Alexis was looking at Jaden and Bastion's duel. Bastion had lost a lot of lifepoints, but he had turned the duel totally around by summoning his waterdragon. Jaden had Burstinatrix and sparkman on the field. The only thing he could do or would do, was fusion summon one of his monsters.

"So let me guess" said Alexis and smiled "Jaden is going to fusion summon".

Zane and Tara both shrugged. Normaly Jaden would fusion summon, but Bastion was having a weird smirk on his face. Tara could hear Jaden scream.

"I am gonna fuse 3 of my monsters to summon..." but Bastion interfered.

"I don't think so..I use the trap "Curse of the forbitten spell". By discarding a spell card, you can't fuse in rest of the duel". Bastion said.

Tara saw the surprised look on her brothers face. So now he can't fuse any of his monsters.

"Wow, Bastion was really prepared for this" said Zane impressed "He totally destroyed Jaden's abillity to fuse". Tara nodded, but she believed in her brother.

"He only destroyed his abillity to fuse. It is really no big deal" Alexis said.

"That's not true" said Zane "Jaden are always using his fusion monsters. So he will have to play a total different way than usual". Tara nodded.

"But my brother is going to win anyway" Tara said and smiled "I just know it".

Time skip. After the duel.

And Tara was right. Jaden won the duel. He used a combo with skyskraper and bladedge and beat Bastion's monster "Litmus the doom swordsman". The crowd was going crazy again. Dr. Crowler announced that Jaden had won and Bastion was out of the competition. Now the duel between Jaden and Tara was about to begin. Tara was a little bit nervous. Zane and Alexis was both clapping her on the shoulders.

"Good luck" said Alexis and smiled.

"Thanks" said Tara and gulped a little "I think I need it". She left her seat before she could explain. Jaden was waiting for her. He was totally pumped and he was waving at her. Tara was waving back at him.

"Are you ready?" He asked her when she was standing beside him. Tara nodded.

"Yeah, are we having the same wager like always?" She asked. Jaden smiled at her.

"Only if you want to" He said "We are at duel academy so we don't need to have this stupid wager". Tara smiled a little bit and nodded.

"I want to Jaden" She said "I want to see if I have improved". Jaden nodded.

"10 rounds" He said "I give you 10 rounds". Tara gave Jaden a high five.

"The wager is on" said Tara and the duel began.

Tara: 4000Lp

Jaden: 4000Lp.

Jaden starts off by summoning Avian in def mode and placed a facedown. Tara drew and summoned "Giant rat" in att mode. She attacked, but Jaden had "hero barrier" out and it stopped Tara's attack. She placed two cards face down and ended her turn. Jaden fusion summoned "Flame wingman" and attacked, but Tara was prepared. She used her trap "compulsory evacuation device" and sent "Flame wingman" back to his deck. Jaden placed a monster facedown and one facedown. He was smiling at Tara.

"Good move, I am imprested". He said smiling. Tara smiled back.

"Well I have learned from the best and I know your every move" She said.

"You sound like Bastion!" said Jaden and grinned "But he couldn't beat me ether".

Tara didn't answer to that. She sacrificed her rat and summoned "Spell cancellor" (1800att) to the field. Jaden looked surprised at her.

"I didn't know you had that card" He said shocked.

"Well I also spent all my money on a new set of booster packs and Zane helped me built my deck" She said and smiled "But now we can't use any spell cards at all. Not as long as this card is facedown".

Jaden frown and nodded. Tara knew her brothers deck and its biggest weakness was all these spell cards he had in deck. Lets see how he counters this, she thought. She attacked and destroyed "Sparkman". Jaden countered and summoned "Clayman" to the field. Tara placed two facedown cards and ended her turn. He was save with clayman for now. Jaden's turn. He only placed two facedown cards. It was Tara's turn. She drew and placed one monster facedown and ended her turn. Jaden's turn. He revealed one of his facedown. It was "soul union". He selected "sparkman" and "Clayman got 1600 att boost. Clayman attacked "Spell cancellor" and Tara got slammed with 600 points of damage. Now that Jaden could use spell cards, he used a lot. He got one monster back from the grave and used "Pot of greed" and got two cards back. He then placed some facedown cards and used "mirage of nightmare" and got 4 cards in his hand. He ended turn. Tara smirked. She also used "Pot of greed" and got two cards. She then used one of her facedown cards "Call of the haunted" and "spell cancellor" was back. She attacked Clayman, but Jaden countered with his trap "Clay charge". Tara lost her monster and got slammed with 800 points of damage, and now that "spell cancellor" was gone. Jaden used "Emergency provisions" and got 1000 lp. Tara ended her turn by placing a monster facedown.

Tara: 2600.

Jaden: 5000.

Jaden turn. He summoned "Bubbleman" and drew two card. He equiped "Bubble blaster" to "Bubbleman" and attacked one of Tara's facedown monsters. Tara and Jaden could hear the voice of Marshmellow and Jaden got slammed with 1000 Lp. He ended his turn. Tara drew and flip summoned her other monster "Mask of darkness" and she got a trap card back from the grave. She revealed her one of her facedown cards "spirit barrier". Now she would not get damage as long as she has a monster on the field. She then sacrificed "Mask of darkness" to summoned "Wampire lord" to the field. She then attacked "Bubbleman" and his blaster got destroyed. Tara ended her turn. Jaden's turn. He used a spell "Monster reincarnation" and sent a "Necroshade" to the grave. He then summoned Burstinatrix and used the spells "Burst return" and "Burst impact", got Bubbleman back in his hand and destroyed all Tara's monsters. She got 300 point of damage for each monster, (600) and Jaden attacked with burstinatrix. She only had 800lp. He ended his turn. Tara got her wampire lord back because he was destroyed by a eff. Tara summoned "D,d assailiant" and attacked with her monster. Jaden lost 1500 lp. Her wampire eff activated and Jaden lost a spell card to the grave. Tara placed down a card facedown and ended her turn. Jaden smiled at her. It was his turn. He used the spell "O-oversoul" and got "Sparkman" back.

"I am sorry sis, but you are going to lose now" He said smiling.

"Don't count on it brother!" Tara said concerned "I can still win".

"Let's see if you survive this then" Jaden said and activated a spell. It was "special hurricane" and it destoyed Tara's "Wampire lord". He then fusion summoned "Tempest". He attacked "D,D assailiant" with "Tempest" and even through both cards were removed from play, and Tara didn't lose lifepoints, Jaden's next attack with "sparkman" was a direct attack. He won the duel.

"Ladies and gentleman!" screamed Crowler "We have our representive. It is.. Jaden Yuki!". The crowd was going wild. Tara sighed a little. Her brother had won again. Jaden was approaching her. He was smiling and was excited, because of all the cheers from the crowd.

"It was a good duel sis" Jaden said "I have never had so must fun".

"You always says that" Tara sighed again "You always have fun in EVERY duel".

"Oh yeah" said Jaden and hive fived her hand "But that's because it is so much fun". Tara giggled. She was about to ask Jaden about the bet, but were interrupted.

"Jaden, Tara. That was a aresome duel!" Alexis half scream "No wonder I couldn't beat you. You are almost as good as Jaden".

Both Tara and Jaden blushed a little. They were not used to be complemented. Alexis was hugging her. Bastion was congratulating both of them, even through Tara didn't won. Everyone was just so excited about the match.

"It was a good match" said a voice suddenly and Tara saw Zane approached her.

"I am sorry Zane" said Tara a little guilty "You helped me with my deck and I couldn't win anyway. I let you down". Zane just smiled and shock his head. He was about to say something, when Jaden gave her a bear hug.

"What are you talking about Tara?" He said and tousled her hair. "It was a super match and all these cheers are not only for me, but for you and Bastion as well".

Tara listened to all the cheers and Jaden was right. Some of the students were screaming her name too and Bastion's and Jaden too. The chancellor had grabbed the microfon from Crowler and were screaming.

"Let's give our fighting students a big hand!". Everyone were clapping. Tara felt so happy. She hugged her brother.

"Thanks Jay for this aresome duel" She said.

"Your welcome" He said. He was about to say something more but were interrupted.

"And Tara you didn't let me down" Zane said "You were aresome". Tara smiled.

"But Tara... hmm your bet" said Jaden and grinned "You only lasted 8 rounds". Tara looked scared for a moment. The others from the group looked confused at them.

"What bet?" said Syrus. Tara sighed.

"It's a Yuki tradition. Were bet to see how long I can last against Jaden in a duel" Tara said and smiled "Jaden wagered 10 rounds and if I could last that long, I would get any wish from him. If he can grant it that is. But sadly I lost again". Tara sighed.

"It sound like you never have actually had beating Jaden" said Chumley confused.

"Well that's because I haven't." Tara sighed "I have never beaten Jaden in a duel". The others looked surprised. Jaden was grinning.

"And since I won.. again. I can get a wish" He said. Tara sighed.

"So what's your wish brother?" Tara asked. Jaden smirked. He whispered in her ear.

"It.. is..." He said and began whispering. Tara blushed and looked angry at Jaden.

"I am not gonna do it" She almost scream "I.. It.. you can't be serious!".

"I am" said Jaden in a cruel voice "You have 16 days to do it". He grinned a little and left the arena. Tara was looking stunned at her brother, before she rushed after.
