Sometimes you can linger between two paths. One to the right or the one to the left. It can be hard to chose, but think carefully over it, because if you first have chosen one path there is no return. You have to stay on the path no matter how dreadful it might be. But in the end you will archive the goal who was meant to be.

Syrus's p.o.v.

It was a foggy, somewhat morning, in this dark dark world. The mist was covering the ground and made the grassy wet and the ground slippery. But it didn't matter to the two hooded figures who was rushing through the terrain of muddy ground and some grassy fields. In the horizontal was a grassy and rocky terrain shown. It was there the two figures was headed. However they first had to shake the restly pursuers off them. They hid behind a tree, who was having a boulder as it's back. If they squeezed themself a little tight, there were room enough for them to hide.

"Come on guys, we got them! Follow me!" a voice yelled and a few warrior voices joined into a happy determined cheer. Then the herd, who was all warriors, rushed passed the hiding place and was gone a little while after. The two figures sighed relieved, but they did make sure no one was there, before they left the hiding place.

"You are never gonna do that again!" said one of them. The smallest one of them. He let the hoodie fall and showed a boyish face. An adult version of Syrus actually. Still wearing his small pair of glasses and had blue hair, but it had gotten a little long.

"I am grateful for your help with Chazz, but you are pushing it now. Why did you go up to the front and make yourself notice" Syrus said and sighed. The other grinned.

"Ah Sy don't be like that. He would have done that too. If he was here, and not on their side. So get your game on Sy" the other said. Syrus sneered and slammed the head of the other figure. The person growled a little in pain. Syrus snort.

"Serves you right Dimitri. If you say one catch phase or line Jaden would use I will hit you again" he said and sneered. The male Dimitri grinned a little.

"Av that was not what you was suppose to say" he said a little hurt "I did save your sorry ass Sy so show some gratitude. I did after all transform into you, and made Chazz chase me, so you could get away. As soon as I was sure you were in safety, I returned to normal. I am grateful he was gone to north academy at that time I dueled Jaden, or he might had notice the difference". Syrus snort a little. Dimitri continued.

"You should be all, 'Thanks big bro, you saved my life. Best friends forever and..'" He never continued because Syrus slammed his head again.

"You dare to mimic my old life stupid copy cat" He sneered "Jaden and I are not friends. Not any longer. Be glad Tara is not here. If she hears that you have been imitating Jaden, she will kill you". Dimitri stopped laughing for a little while. Then he removed his hoodie and sighed a little. Where his face was suppose to be, was instead a white clear mask with an invisible veil in the back of head. He sighed again and ripped the mask off his head. He placed it in the pocket. Syrus sighed.

"So happy to see your face once in awhile" He said "I miss that". Dimitri smiled.

"Oh but this mask and bracelet is so cool. You know I got this from Kaiba and the king of the games. Which is so awesome. I can max out my copy talents to.. well the max" He said happily. Syrus sighed. He had known that for a long time. Dimitri didn't stop shutting up about it. Kaiba and Yugi had combined forces, because Dark magician girl had pointed out that Dimitri had hidden abilities. Kaiba had created the device and Yugi had fused the card "copy cat" into the device with the help of Dark magician and girl's help. It was one of the few things Yugi had done, before he went on the run. One of the few duelists who still had his deck. With the device, if Dimitri had touched someone doing his life, he could transform fully into that person. First time he used it, he transformed into Jaden and well Tara went on a rampage. She had chased him around the whole mansion. Dimitri had gotten respect for Tara that day. He was never transforming or joking around her again. The duo continued walking for a bit. They needed to reach the rocky terrain before the day ended. Once in awhile they had to hid from the warriors who were chasing them. Dimitri was actually finding this pretty funny. Like a game. Syrus didn't find it that funny. He had become pretty serious after the world changed, but there were a good reason for that. He had after all lost his two brothers. Zane and the one he had called big bro Jaden Yuki. He was also one of the kids who got saved by Kaiba and Pegasus at that time. Just like Dimitri had. He even had some training exercises in mortal combat. Just like many others from the resistance had. That includes Tara and Atticus actually. Tara had learned Atticus some few moves, and sometimes they were even sparring against each other. When Kaiba finally agreed to it that is. Syrus may be the weakest warrior they had in the Resistance. Even Dimitri was stronger in mortal combat, but Syrus did make up for it in so many ways. He was a spy! He was not the tallest person in the world and could hide effectively. People almost never found him. He was good at tracing and was quick to learn and use the terrain to his advantage. Secondly he had a net of small spies. Some couple of humans and free duel monsters was working for him. Syrus may not be the best spy compared to Kagemaru's two minion's Adrian and Yusuke, but still he was an important asset to the Resistance. Secondly he had decided, like Tara had, that he was going after Camula, for what she did to his friends. However unlike Tara, who believed Jaden and Zane still could be saved, Syrus had given up on them and thinking that they were beyond saving. After all he had seen enough horror movies to know that once a vampire, always a vampire. There wasn't a cure, beside killing them. It was something Syrus had decided long ago, but it still made him get a bad taste in his mouth. He just hoped Tara wasn't there when he did it. Dimitri looked curiously at him.

"What are you thinking at Sy?" He questioned "You look so thoughtful". Sy sighed.

"It is nothing" He said quickly "Let's just get home". Dimitri nodded.

"Yeah I need a bath" He commented "And food..".

"And give our newest report" Syrus interrupted and smiled a little. Dimitri sighed.

"That too, let's just get home" He said. Syrus nodded. He was agreeing on that.

It was a hard dreadful march. If it wasn't for the fact that Syrus was used to walk that much by now, the duo would be completely tired by now. However the two boys had enough stamina to at least arrive in the forest where the headquarter was suppose to be. They had sent a coded message through the network of spies Sy had, and hoped that they had delivered the message. It had been a month more less since he had been at the headquarter after all, and they could have moved in the meantime. However Syrus believed in no news was good news. They were still in Asia, alias Transylvanien. He hoped the guards were watching them or something, because Syrus was not fully sure where the base was as of yet. They walked through the forest with silence steps. Making sure no one was following them. Then Dimitri grabbed his cloak and made the sign for silence. Syrus nodded. He had noticed as well. The forest was too silence. Then the sound of rustling could be heard. Between some bushes and the two males hid themselves. Seconds later a herd of police members, lead by Cliff from the dark scorpions, rushed out of the bushes. Syrus looked surprised. The police could only mean bad stuff in this world.

"Hurry men, they have to be somewhere" Cliff yelled and cheers from beast warriors could be heard. Syrus eyes widened. Something was wrong around here. Then the men left luckily in the other direction. Sy sighed relieved, but he wondered what was going on. He was about to leave his hiding spot, in a treetop, when Dimitri stopped him. He shook his head. Syrus bit his lip. Now he could also hear it. The small sound of footsteps. They both went silence while was listening and watching closely. Then there in the shadows was two people walking. Syrus's eyes widened.

"Aster?!" he said in a little high outburst "Is that you?". Then he slammed a hand over his mouth. One of them, the male looked around and was readying his dagger.

"Who's there?" He questioned and looked around suspiciously. Syrus sighed.

"Resistance, but first the code name, so we are sure it is really you" he told him. He could see Aster tense a little. With so many enemies it was understandable.

"The Phoenix rises from the ashes and gives hope to the people" He said slowly.

"Roids are the living of recycle" Syrus then said and smiled.

"Disguise is the ways of a copycat" Dimitri said and they both looked around before they jumped down from the tree. Syrus could see Aster looked relieved. He smiled at his companion. That until he noticed the girl beside him and froze. Who was she?

"Who's the girl Aster?" Dimitri asked suspiciously "Why is she here? Oh and do you know why there is a police force walking around in these parts". Aster bit his lip.

"Well that is a long story" began Aster slowly, but got interrupted by the girl.

"You two smell, are you really from the resistance" she questioned "And you shorty looks like a green haired mane of a lion. That is ugly". Syrus sneered a little.

"Hey I have been on an assignment girl, and haven't had the time to cut my hair yet" He defended. The girl just snort and turned her back towards them. Aster sighed.

"So who is she Aster? That is a rude little girl you got there" Dimitri pointed out.

"Well um you see.." began Aster and sighed "I kind of broke protocol and saved her in the nearby village.. from the police force actually.. so therefore..".

"You did what?!" yelled Syrus and covered his mouth. Then his voice went low. "No wonder Cliff and his goons were here. You are getting us in so much trouble. I can see it.. us all in prison because of your recklessness.. oh we are gonna die..!".

"Hey easy there Sy. They haven't caught us yet" Dimitri said slowly "Our headquarter is pretty good hidden. But I must say I am surprised. I didn't think the famous Aster was the one, who brought our headquarter in trouble. Always figured it was either Sy or Tara. After all I could see her bring Jaden as vampire back here and Syrus captured". Syrus sneered and hit his head.

"Or you, your idiot! Just like today!" He said and sighed. He looked at Aster "Please tell me you didn't do it because you love that girl. Tell me you did it for the good of the future or something like that". Aster sighed a little and looked at the girl.

"Well her name is Freya and are a former pro and colleague of mine" He began "But um nope not sure what she can help us with in the future". They could hear the girl snort in the background, but she didn't add anything to their conversation.

"This is so much your own mess Aster" He said slowly and sighed "But if you are sure she is worth it, then bring her along. I can so hear Kaiba yell at you right now".

"Yeah, he is good at that" Dimitri added "So Aster, which way to the headquarter? It has been a month since we have been home after all". Aster smiled and took this girl's hand. Then he began walking slowly through the forest.

"This way" he said and the others followed him towards the headquarter.

Tara's p.o.v.

"Father! I want a mission! NOW!" Tara yelled when she walked into the commando central, not caring that she gave the people in here a scare. Luckily there were only 3 people in here. Kaiba, Lorenzo, the 3. times named super video game player as well as hacker, and Rebecka, Kaiba's secretary and software expert alias hacker as well. Lorenzo was to occupied with an old video game, to notice Tara like usual. Rebecka was sitting at a table and writing in a notebook while drinking some coffee. She did look up in some seconds, then returned to what she was doing. Tara noticed she was smirking. Kaiba, who was sitting at the computer screen, sighed deeply.

"Have you ever heard about the word please" Kaiba said and growled "Secondly you know the rules for that. I am not giving you a mission". Tara snort coldly.

"Well then I am not saying please" Tara said and crossed her arms "And there is no rule stating a mission. You just don't want me to leave". Kaiba snort and turned his chair towards her. He looked pissed.

"So?, anything wrong with that" He said and sighed "This is a dark world out there".

"I am not a little kid!" Tara yelled "I was maybe 7 years ago, but I had training since then. I am ready to take on more important missions". Kaiba snort coldly and turned to the pc again. Tara noticed he was looking at some papers, before he spoke again.

"Then what kind of mission do you then want Tara?". Tara was a little surprised by that question. She had figured he never would ask that.

"Anything! Doing something important, or maybe.." she hesitated for a sec "..Maybe give me permission to travel for awhile". She could hear her father sneer.

"Oh and if that were granted, where would you then go? What would you do then?" He asked in a scary calm tone. Tara bit her lip.

"I want.. you know be of help to the people" she mumbled out slowly. Kaiba sneered.

"Tara how many times have I told you, to forget about him. To forget about Jaden!" he said and sighed "And don't pretend that it is not the reason you want to leave".

"I.. fine. I want to find my brother!" She yelled angry "My twin and your son! You can't just give up on him. Jaden would never give up on me, if it were the other way around". There were silence for a while. Kaiba sighed a little.

"Why are we always discussing this Tara?" He said a little while after "Jaden is a vampire for goodness sake. He is a child of the night and serves Camula. He will not hesitate to drink us dry in less than seconds. If you don't get that fantasy out of your head that he is still your brother, then one day you will end up dead". Tara snort a little. You don't know how wrong you are father. Jaden would never do that! I believe in him. Tara sighed inside, but telling him that, would only lead to another discussion.

"Fine, if I can't leave, then just give me another mission" she replied slowly "Guard duty? Anything! I am getting insane if I don't do anything".Kaiba sighed.

"Well Atticus could use some help with getting supplies" Rebecka suddenly suggested. Tara's face lit up pretty quickly.

"Really? I could do that with ease" Tara said and smiled happily. Kaiba growled.

"I don't trust that boy. You are not leaving with him to get supplies" he said coldly.

"Wait why? Father there is really not that much danger. I just go down to the city, getting the supplies and back again" She defended "It is an easy assignment and Atticus is really not that bad". Kaiba sneered a little.

"This is why" he said and was holding up a piece of paper. A wanted poster. "Your wanted poster has raised once again. What do you have to say for yourself?".

"Oh how cool, I am raising in worth" Tara replied happily "Look Rebecka I am worth 65000 Dp now. Although the picture of me is terrible". Tara had grabbed the poster and was holding it up in front of Rebecka. The sectarian just nodded and sighed a little. Tara smirked. She already could see the vein at her father's head was gonna pop any minute and she didn't care. Kaiba sneered a little.

"Tara! You are trying my patients here" He sneered angry. She rolled her eyes.

"Oh I know. I am pretty good at hitting the right buttons, and I will do this over and over again until you let me go on important missions" She replied coldly "Just because my poster has gone up, is no excuse to keep me here. It doesn't matter anyway. I told you I want a mission. Even guard duty is acceptable". Kaiba snort.

"Yeah you are done doing that. You disappeared from your post" he said coldly.

"Yes, but if I didn't Axel would have been death and we had never gotten the best and only swordman we now have" defended Tara and crossed her arms "I did the right thing". Rebecca sighed a little and looked at Kaiba who was rubbing his head.

"You were damn reckless and walked into a lair of vampires young lady" he sneered "How you survived is beyond me but..".

"See I am not as weak and useless as you think dad" Tara interrupted "So give me a mission, or..or I will leave and make one on my own". Kaiba bit his lip and sneered. He was about to say something when another voice rang through the room.

"Badabing, I think I hit it" Lorenzo suddenly yelled and leaned back in the chair.

"Lorenzo pipe it down" said Rebecka and sighed "We don't care that you won in a weird video game". Lorenzo looked at them and snort.

"That not it.. Mama mia Tara what are you doing here?" He questioned and then shrugged "But there is dim lights on the..".

"Mr Kaiba, Mr Kaiba" yelled another voice and a metal kind of robot rushed into the commando central "There is a disturbance in the terrain and Axel located several of the police force wandering around the headquarters". Tara sighed deeply. She was so close at getting her father to agree and then this happens. She looked at the robot, alias Crowler and smiled a little smile. After his duel with Camula 7 years ago, Camula had transformed the good professor's body into a doll, instead of a vampire. The vampires simply stated he was to ugly to be one. Tara hated that moment. It was at that moment, Camula challenged Zane. However after they had escaped Kaiba had created a robot and placed the doll inside. Crowler made it move with thoughts alone. He was actually quite good at it now. Not like he first started. Tara and the resistance members have had some few hidden laughs together. Kaiba and Rebecca looked at Lorenzo, who shrugged a little.

"What Badabing? I did try telling yer capice, but you didn't listen. There is a risen activity on the monitors. This is just not normal" Lorenzo defended. Rebecka had rushed up to his computer screen as well. Kaiba sended Tara a glaring look.

"What?" defended Tara "I didn't do a thing. I have been training with Atticus".

"She speaks the truth" said a new voice and Axel showed up on Crowler's holoscreen he had created "Sy, Dimitri and Aster have arrived at the guard post sir. Secondly Aster has acted on impulse and saved a girl from the police force and therefore broken protocol. He is to blame for the extra security". Tara bit her lip. Aster had broken protocol for a girl? Aster who always was so obedient towards Sartorius? She couldn't quite imagine it. Kaiba sneered angry.

"Let them in here" He told the robot and Axel "If the girl is a treat, restrain her and sent me a message to Sarina. We need to double our defences at once!". Crowler saluted and the robot rushed out of the room. Tara was a little worried, but also a little excited. At least something happened now.

Mysterious p.o.v.

She was running. She was running as fast as she could. They were after her and that was all she needed to know. The smell of fire hit her nostrils and knew they were close by. The fire surrounded wolfs who was following her. However she considered herself lucky. She knew they could sent more dangerous things after her. The girl sighed deeply, when her stomach began to rumble. She couldn't remember when she had gotten anything to eat, but regardless that she kept going. She needed to hit the rivers. Only then the dog's would lose her scents. As luck so happens she manages to find and cross the river. She quickly hid and could hear the sound of the dog's stop up. First of all they were afraid of water secondly they lost her scent. Soon after the dog's turned around and left. She sighed relieved and began walking. She needed to find a safe place. The only place she knew, was the resistance and even though the girl didn't know where they were, she still continued. She just hoped she would find someone, before it was too late.

Banner's p.o.v.

"Good, that looks good gentlemen" Banner said and smirked. He was walking around in his lap, looking at the different experiment people conducted. On his orders of course. Then a loud BOOM could be heard and smoke could be seen a little away. Banner sighed. That meant another failure. He walked over to the stalk, where a duel monster spirit and two kids were standing. They were coughing a lot. Banner smirked. Of course it was them who created the explosion.

"Okay, who of you two brats fault is it, that exploded?" yelled the duel monster spirit called Kozaky and jumped up and down in anger "Now we have to do it all over again". Banner smirked a little. Kozaky was known for his anger issues and was actually one of the few duel monsters as well as scientist in here. He was a hunchbacked monster, who looked humanoid. Normal black hair and was wearing glasses and a white researcher coat. His skin however was of dark colors and on the top of his head was two horns. He had some spikes sticking out from his elbow and other places on his body. When Banner found out how good a scientist he was, despite the issues, he made Kagemaru release him and made him work for him instead. He was assigned together with two human boys. Two young adults called Torrey and Bob Bartner. They had been and still was bright young students. Banner didn't want to waste anything useful after all. Even human's. His subjects knew better than to defy him, because no one of them wanted to end up as one of his guinea pig's. He was watching the two boys bow to Kozaky in apologies.

"Hmm what is going on here?" he questioned. The three scientists turned around and three bowed quickly to him. Banner snort. He hadn't the time for them doing that and made a gesture towards the broken experiment. Kozaky quickly began talking.

"I am sorry my lord. A little mishap. One of the boys must have mixed too much of one of the chemical elements into the ball and made it explode" He told Banner and glared at one of the boys. They both looked down in the ground, ashamed. Banner looked at the black ball on the table. If he remembered correctly this was one of the prototypes of a new weapon they were making. A so called stun bullets. Like a stun gun, the bullets was suppose to be able to get inside a pistol or tossed at and get shot towards the opponent, making them immobilized. However as things stands, even the prototypes were unstable. One touch and they kind of blew up instead. Banner found a trace of gunpowder at the table along with a little salt and other chemicals. He quickly places some of it on his finger and sniffed a little. He also rubbed it with hands and tasted a tiny fraction on his tongue. Then his eyes narrowed.

"Who was in charge of the sulfur?" he asked. One of the boys, Torrey he noticed walked a step forward. He looked really guilty.

"I did sir" He said slowly "I am terrible sorry if I did something wrong?".

"Come here Torrey" Banner ordered and waved the boy over to him. Clearly confused "You are right, you are to blame for the explosion. There were clearly too much of the sulfur". The boy bit his lip and bowed.

"I am sorry sir. Deeply sorry. I will learn to be better" He said. Banner smiled. He took the boy's hand and places some chemicals in his hand.

"Tell me Torrey, what is that?" He asked. The boy looked at his hands in confusion.

"Um sand sir?" he questioned. Banner nodded a little and took some from his hand.

"Yes, but there is many different types of sand in the world. Sand is made out of particles of soil. Sand can be mixed with a lot of things from the nature, therefore you can't be sure it is the right mixture you have just from putting things together" He told them. "Like this experiment for instance. You just put the things together without making sure it is rightful mixture. Double check if that helps. Learn the rightful combination, like it is second nature to you and your partner". He looked at both of them now. Then they slowly nodded. Kazuky bowed slowly to him and then they all three began the experiment once again.

"Oh youngsters. I remember when I was so young. So clueless and curious" said a voice suddenly and Banner turned around and found Dr. Eisenstein behind him. Banner smiled a little. He was his second in charge here, and was one of the few Banner trusted fully. He also had shared some of the powers of the beasts he got from Lord Kagemaru with Eisenstein, so he didn't age. Not more than he already was.

"Ah Doctor, yes it is always fun teaching once in awhile" He replied and took a look at the two boys, in his eyes, then turned around and walked away "Was is something you wanted?". The good doctor nodded and followed after him.

"I have been running the latest test sir, but we are missing to much facts. I can't get it to work properly" He told him. Banner sneered a little.

"You are telling me, we need the girl for it to work?" He questioned.

"Well since she was the test subject, I strongly suggest we do. At least with this experiment" Eisenstein told him and sighed "If my assistant was here, he may could make it work". Banner tensed. He sneered inside. Outside he was smiling his fake smile. The doctor knew he good enough to know when he was faking it though.

"I will leave for a while. I assume you can take care of things here?" he questioned and the Doctor nodded. Banner quickly left the lap and walked towards a special facility. Also called the dungeon.

Banner walked down the dark corridors of the dungeon. There were only a little light from some torches around on the walls, but Banner didn't need more light. Secondly it also made it impossible to see a clear view on all the prisoners alias guinea pigs. Normally he was having someone, like guards, with him. They were there to make the prisoner shut up if they ever had courage to complain. It could happen once in awhile, and Banner didn't want to listen to it. He didn't care for his prisoners. He let the guards take care of it. They also made sure they ate and drank. If they didn't it was also not his responsibility. Only pure science was. However today it was different. Today he was gonna visit a special prisoner. Banner continued down the hallways to the end of the prison. He was lucky and the prisoners was keeping quiet. Even Dr. collector, who normally was yelling up and saying logical facts. He was having a IQ of 200 or more after all. Banner actually would like him on his team, but that man could be unpredictable and refused to cooperate. Therefore he was left down here as a guinea pig. Banner arrived at the destination. A big cell, bigger than the others and the only cell where there were only one prisoner. A male by the way. Banner sighed inside and looked inside the cell. On a wood bench in someway the young male was sleeping. Or pretended. Banner knew better, as well did the boy. He got slowly up and looked out at the cell. At the scientist. Then he sighed.

"Hello my lord. I wondered when you would come by for a visit again" He said in ironic voice. Banner sighed a little. Then smiled with his plasted fake smile.

"Hello Bastion. I do apologize for the hard welcoming I had to give you" He said slowly. He could hear the boy snort back at him.

"You are not sorry at all my lord. I learned that a long time ago" Bastion replied and laid down on the bench "So why are you here? To get me for my execution?".

"Hmm not yet, but it can't be arranged. After I had run some test on you though" He said coldly and eyes narrowed "I have one question though. Why? Why did you betray me?". He could hear Bastion snort a little, but his eyes looked at him though.

"Why? That explains itself. You wanted to use a poor innocent girl for your experiments. I didn't, so I let her go" he replied and shrugged. Banner sneered.

"You are a fool Bastion. Tossing everything away you had for a stupid girl. Letting yourself get captured so she got away" He said coldly "You were one of my best men. My protege! Now betraying protege! You were a bright boy. You had everything you always wanted Bastion. Science. Your dream to work with the Dr. and you were my third in charge. Now you were tossing it away.. for a girl you meet some weeks ago!". Bastion snort a little and sat up on the bench looking at Banner.

"Yeah for a girl who has more heart and kindness that you ever have" He replied coldly "You are right. I were happy. You treated me like a son, and like you said I had everything I wanted. However on what account? On others happiness?! I was blinded by my own passion for scientist. Ace told me to open my eyes for the truth. Before I knew it I notice differences at work. Our scared scientists, the cruel experiment who has no purpose, beside your fun, and your obsession to live forever and power. You follow lord Kagemaru for these reasons. Your own egotistical reasons". Banner snort.

"Who cares about if the others are happy or not. Your own happiness is far more important. Come to your senses Bastion, if you do then I will let that incident slide. If not I have to use more drastic methods on you, and I can guarantee that they hurt" he slowly threatened. The boy snort a little.

"I am staying. I am guessing you need my help with some weird experiment. That is the reason I am not tested on already, or killed yet" Bastion concluded and smirked "Whatever method you are gonna use on me, I will never help you ever again".

"Are you sure?" Banner said slowly and smirked "I could brainwash you if you like". He could see Bastion tense by that. Then he actually shrugged and smirked a little.

"You could, but I know you my lord. You wouldn't do that, the experiment does work, but the subject will lose a lot brainpower. Around 20% if I remember correctly, would you risk it? If so, then by all means use it, I am never gonna help you by my free will" he said and laid down on the couch. Banner sneered angry inside. He had forgotten how smart Bastion actually was. He had meant the brainwashing as a threat, and not actually use it on him. Like Bastion mentioned the subject loses 20% brainpower. Banner turned his back towards him.

"You are stubborn Bastion Misawa" He said and smiled his fake smile "I give you one day to think about it and if you still refuses, then I have a cruel experiment I need a test subject for". Then he began leaving the dungeon.

"You will not succeed" said a voice suddenly and Banner noticed Dr. collecter inside one of the other cells. He was restrained of course. "You lack power and ingenuity. You are walking around in circles now Banner. The boy sees it, but you don't and therefore, you will never be able to open the portal. Not now and not ever".

"Be quiet you!" He sneered at the prisoner and quickly walked out of the dungeon. He would succeed. He would see. They would all see, and if he had to brainwash Bastion to do so, then so be it.

Ember's p.o.v.

"Um Ember this is delicious". Ember grinned a little.

"Hehe well it is pretty easy to grill a fish Jesse" she replied and smiled.

"That may be, but I can feel your heart in it" He said and ate a little at the fish. They were sitting side by side inside a forest of some kind and was eating a delicious meal.

"Is that so?" Ember questioned and hugged him a little "Then eat some more. There is plenty". Jesse smiled and grabbed another stick near the campfire. He was about to eat one when he stopped up and looked at Ember beside him.

"Actually, I think you should eat a little" He said and was holding the fish near her "I don't think I have noticed you eating anything yet". Ember sighed a little.

"I am not hungry" she said slowly, but then her stomach complained loudly.

"Your stomach says different Ember" Jesse said and sighed "Don't tell me you on purpose didn't want to eat so I could get all of them. Ember you need to eat too". He was holding the stick near her, and Ember sighed in defeat. She slowly began eating.

"It is really delicious" Ember said "That is some seriously good fish you catched Jesse.. why are you looking at me like that?". Jesse grinned and pointed at her cheek.

"You are so cute while you are eating. So eat up!" He said and smiled "And this little fish skin on your cheek, makes you look even cuter". Ember blushes a little.

"Jesse stop I am eating" she said and pushed him away "You make me blush". Jesse grinned a little and began drinking from their water bottle.

"You are cute when you blush too" He commented and sighed "The world could be in ruins now and I don't care. As long as I am with you..". Ember frowned by that.

"But the world are in ruins Jesse" she questioned. Jesse smiled and took her hand.

"That just illustrates my point, that I don't care. I am only happy to be with you" He said. Ember eyes lit up in happiness and then surprisingly kissed Jesse on the cheek. He looked really surprised at her and it made Ember grin a little. She grabbed one of the fishes and slowly ate them. The rest she placed in the little bag they were having. They were taking turns on who was carrying the backpack. They had after all prepared themselves before they left the kingdom, and only had the most important with them. A backpack with water bottles and knife in. If knew how to survive, but they wanted to leave the border before they began to carry more important stuff. They didn't want to stay in Titan's kingdom more than they needed to. Now that they had crossed the border, they began storing food and herbs. All things they maybe could use later on.

"Why did you kiss me?" Jesse suddenly said. He sounded puzzled. Ember grinned.

"Why? Because you talk nonsense Jesse" she said "You care too much about this world to not care. That is one of the things I love about you". Jesse grinned a little.

"Okay, you got me. But I care about you just as much as I care about our friends and our doomed world of ours" he said and smiled "Doesn't that reward me with one of your loving kisses again? You kind of missed be..". Before Jesse could end his sentence, Ember had crashed her lips at his, which of course surprised Jesse, but some seconds later made him kiss her back. Ember pulled slowly back.

"Have I told you how much I love you" Jesse got out. His eyes were filled with happiness. Ember grinned a little.

"You might have mentioned it a couple of many times" she said and took his hand.

"Well I may have to say it again. I love you Ember. With all my heart" he said and squeezed her hand. She squeezed back.

"I love you too Jesse. More than anything in the world, but I think we need to get going. You know to the resistance, before anyone not so good people find us" she replied and Jesse nodded. He did extinguish the flames from the campfire though.

"Yeah, but let's visit the river and get the waterbottle filled up" He said. Ember nodded. They began walking. There was a river not far from here. They had found it yesterday, but it was a good idea to get water whenever you could. Ember looked over at Jesse while they were walking. She couldn't believe she was so lucky to have him. Maybe Jesse was sometimes too sweet, etc he never kissed her without asking, but he didn't mind that Ember gave him surprising kisses though. He was just not that type of guy who did that. He also never forced her to do anything. However Ember could live with that. She just loved him so much. They arrived at the river and Jesse began filling the water bottles. In the meantime Ember was scouting the area. The bad guys could easily ambush them while being here at the water. After all everyone needed mostly to drink water. Jesse had just filled the first water bottle, when Ember noticed something strange in the water. Something was floating there and it was slowly getting close to both of them.

"Jesse watch out, something is floating towards us" She warned him. "To your left side". Jesse quickly lifted his head and narrowed his eyes. Then they widened.

"It's a.. it's a girl!" he said a dropped the water bottle and rushed out in the river.

"Maybe it is a trap Jesse, be careful" Ember warned. Jesse shook his head.

"It is a beat up girl Ember and a thin one at that, I don't think it is a trap at all" Jesse concluded and lifted the girl up in his arms and walked ashore with her. He placed her down at the ground. Ember's instinct took over and she placed her ear near the girl's chest. To hear if her heart was still beating and later at her mouth to see if she was still breathing. she was, but it was faint. Ember, again thanking Jim and Hassleberry for learning her first aid, and began using CPR. After sometime the girl cought up water and her breathing began sounding normal again. Ember sighed relived.

"What do you thing had happened to her Em?" Jesse asked. Ember shrugged.

"Who knows, she was properly chased or maybe someone tried killing her" She concluded "People do crazy things in this world after all". Jesse nodded.

"But what to do with her? Are we gonna take her with us?" he questioned. However then they noticed the girl jerked a little and they both were at her side. The girl was slowly waking up. She looked tired and her eyes was blinking a little.

"Where.. where am I?" she said weakly "Who are you?". Ember and Jesse looked at each other. They was not sure what they needed to tell her.

"We found you floating in a river" said Jesse then "We got you ashore".

"Really?" She said weakly and mumbled "Oh yeah, chased, fell into the river, unconscious, need to find the resistance, before they find me". Ember eyes widened. So did Jesse's. They looked at each other and nodded.

"So do we. My name is Jesse. This is Ember. We are looking for the resistance as well" Jesse told her. The girl blinked again.

"Really? I need to get there.. before they find me" she slowly whispered "If you are going.. can you take me with you? I am so tired". Ember looked at Jesse again.

"Sure we will take you. Just sleep a little" She then said and saw the girl instantly relax "But what is your name?". The girl took a deep sigh and laid down on the ground again. Her eyes were barely open.

"My name is Ace" then she passed out.

Tara's p.o.v.

"You are in a lot of trouble young man" yelled Kaiba angry at Aster and Tara sighed deeply. Right now she was in the common room together with a lot of people from the resistance. Beside Demitri, because he got the guard duty, and Lorenzo because he was watching the screens at the commando central, every other member was present in the common room and Kaiba was staring angrily down at Aster and the girl he brought in here. If Tara recalled her name was Freya. The girl hadn't left Aster's side since she had arrived in here. She had crossed her arms and was glaring at everyone. It made Syrus a little scared, even if he didn't show it. He had always been timid by nature. At the other end of the wall in the room, was Axel standing. He was dressed in his knight outfit. Which was a mix of black and red clothes and a little, light, white armor. At the side of his back hang a scabbard with his sword ready. He always has it on him, so he was ready to fight wherever danger was near. He was also one of the few resistance members who had a useful weapon, since Axel brought it in here when he joined the resistance. He was an observer at most and didn't talk a lot, beside with Tara. They had been best friends since the first day they meet.

"I must admit that was pretty reckless Aster" Sartorius commented and sighed "But I should have known that would be coming. You had the empress shown in your future". Kaiba only glared at Sartorius for awhile, which the man of course ignored. He and Sarina was sitting on the couch and Sartorius was looking through his tarot cards at the table. Tara couldn't stop smiling. She knew how her father didn't believe in such thing as destiny and fortune telling, however he valued Sarina and could therefore not kick him out of here. Sartorius knew that and always made some readings in front of Kaiba just to annoy him a little. However that said, his prediction had been true. Not in the way people would guess it, but it for most parts came true anyway. Like etc. the prediction on a mission where Sartorius warned Kaiba of going there. It was a scouting mission, and sended some members there to research. When they returned, the group had lost 2 members, just like Sartorius said they would. However he also had some errors. Like to Tara he said she had to be careful or she ended in a accident, but that one never happened. She had been close, it had been a scouting mission at some time, where Tara had been centimeters from getting injured by Adrian's blade, when she run into him in a local pub. It was one of the reasons her father also was so protective over her now. Kaiba sneered. 

"Reckless?! That's the least of it" Kaiba yelled "He has liberty taken half of the police force near our doorstep. It is only thanks to Sarina that as soon as they get near the base they turn around. If not we would have been found. I would actually want to move the headquarter, but we still have a week to go. What do you have to say for yourself young man". Aster sighed a little and shrugged.

"Nothing sir" He said "Beside that she is worth it. She was going to be turned over to one of the vampires. I couldn't let that happen". Tara jerked a little by that. Syrus sighed instead along with a lot of the other members.

"Well what do you expect boy" Kaiba growled "We are in Camula's castle. People will be taken to the castle all the time. What is so special about her, that you had to save her from the police force?!". Aster looked down at the ground. Tara's eyes widened. Aster fell for her? I don't believe it?! Then she smiled a little. At least she was not the only one doing crazy stop in the name of love. Tara clenched her fist a little. Whatever her father said, she was not giving up on either Jaden nor Zane. She loved them both too much to do so and one day she would prove to everyone that she was not wrong with them. However right now she needed to help Aster out.

"Does it matter why he did it?" she then said out loud and made every member look at her. Even her father "I mean we are a resistance. Aren't we supposed to save people, and we could use every hand we could get. After all we want to get rid of Kagemaru right? So everyone could be useful". Tara could see Aster was sending her a relieved smile that said "Thank you". The girl however was sending a glare at Tara and just snort. Kaiba looked coldly at Tara as well.

"Well I suppose I don't care why he did it, since we can't make him reverse it" Kaiba concluded "But where in the world can this girl be useful if I may ask Tara".

"Well how should I know" Tara sneered "But why don't we ask her instead of ignoring that she doesn't exist". Now everyone's eyes was looking at the prideful leader and Kaiba had to sigh in defeat. He looked at the girl named Freya.

"Fine, who are you and why do you think you can be of use to the resistance" He asked her. There were silence for a long time. In that time, Freya had looked at every members and glared at everyone. Then she snort coldly.

"Pitiful" She then stated "Your resistance is pitiful". There were death silence now.

"What did you say?" Kaiba sneered coldly. Freya snort coldly.

"Pitiful, no wonder you haven't attacked any" She said coldly "Beside your lack of weapons, you lack warriors as well. You have 4 warriors. A knight who distrusts his own ability. A brave Phoenix, but without the right weapons he will have to be reborn million of times before you succes. A boy with power, but is afraid to use it and lastly a girl who could be a better leader, but can't because of a turmoiled heart. The rest of you a pack of weirdos with no special attack power whatsoever. You are pitiful". Tara jerked a little by that. A girl with a turmoiled heart? Does she mean me? Tara sighed and a pic of Zane appeared inside her head. Yep that is differently me! Her words had apparently an effect on every member in here. Tara could see her father was about to flip. She could see the vein pop at his temples.

"How dare you?" he yelled angry "Who do you think you are girl?". Freya snort.

"Nobody" she stated "I just point out weaknesses. As for you, leader of the resistance. You are a paranoid old fool. Mine is distrust. I trust nobody, but since you want proof of what I can help you with, then give me a week and I will show you". Then she just walked out of the room, without explaining. Everyone was just staring after her. Even Kaiba and no one was saying anything. Then Aster broke it.

"Ah Freya wait.." He said slowly and looked up at Kaiba "I can guarantee for her. Please believe me. If you will excuse me..". Then he rushed out of the room.

"Well isn't she direct" Sartorius then said and turned one of his cards around "But I believe she actually is correct. We are pitiful. We were more active in the past". The others nodded slowly and looked over at Kaiba once again.

"Fine one week. She can live here, if she has not proven useful, she is kicked out" Kaiba then said and began leaving. They could however all hear him mumble "I am not paranoid" in the background. Then he was gone. Tara sighed.

"Well he has always had a problem with the truth" Rebecka said and sighed "Sy maybe we should cut you and Dimitri's hair. It looks terrible actually". Syrus smiled.

"That would be nice, the brags irritates my eyes a little" he replied and a little while after it was only Atticus, Axel, Tara, Sarina and Sartorius in here.

"Well the new girl is.. interesting" said Axel and walked over to Tara "She pointed the weaknesses of people out just like that". Tara nodded.

"Yeah the girl with turmoiled heart, that is me" Tara said slowly "You are the one who distrusts your abilities right Axel? So who is the one who has power, but are afraid to use it?". They could hear Atticus sigh and was holding out a mask.

"Well that would properly be me" He said and sighed again "I still have my nightshroud mask, but I am afraid to use it. I don't want to turn evil".

"Well that would be bad if you did" Sarina commented and smiled "But every power has a drawback Atticus. The day you put on the mask, just remember for what reason you are doing it for. Then the darkness will never win". Atticus looked puzzled at her, but nodded a little. Tara also reassured him that she would save him, if he was taken. Just like Jaden did, which made him relax a little bit more.

"This is interesting" said Sartorius suddenly and they all assembled around the table "I did a reading on the new girl, and the reading is unclear". Tara frowned.

"Really? What do you have?" she questioned. Tara was confused. The last reading Sartorius had gotten unclear had been hers and Jaden some years ago.

"Well that's just it. Nothing, beside that she has a secret of some sort. However I don't think she is evil. The reading doesn't feel that way" Sartorius said and sighed "But Tara do you remember your last reading you had with me?". Tara nodded confused.

"Yeah? Why do you ask?" she questioned. Sartorius smiled a little sad smile.

"I think you just have found 'the archer'" he said and showed her a card on the table.
