He hangs up and a boy in a bell hop outfit comes in.

Boy: Y/N, it's time for your duel with Mr. Atlas.

He leads you to a pure black duel runner with red decal designs on it.

Y/N: Nice!

You go and get changed into a proper turbo duel uniform and you hop onto the duel runner.

Y/N: Pretty simple mechanics. I can handle it.

You drive into the arena and you're met with many hateful comments.

Jack: Time for another chump to fall to the Master of Faster!

You keep a calm composure and the duel begins.

Jack reaches the first turn first.

Jack: Looks like the first turn's mine! I summon Red Sprinter!

A flaming horse-like monster appears.

(Red Sprinter Level 4 Atk: 1700)

Jack: With its effect, I can Special Summon Red Resonator!

A flaming fiend monster appears beside Red Sprinter.

(Red Resonator Level 2 Atk: 600)

Jack: I tune Red Sprinter and Red Resonator! I Synchro Summon Red Wyvern!

The two monsters tune and a flaming dragon takes their place.

(Red Wyvern Level 6 Atk: 2400)

Jack: I set two cards and end my turn! Let's see what you got, rookie!

Y/N: Fine. I draw! I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Red-Eyes Statue Dragon and Scale 7 Red-Eyes Magician! Now I Pendulum Summon! Come out Red-Eyes Wyvern and Delta Flyer! I tune level 3 Delta Flyer and Level 4 Red-Eyes Wyvern! You're gonna Synchro Summon so I will too! Allow me to introduce, the beautiful but deadly! Black Rose Moonlight Dragon!

Your dragon appears with a roar.

Y/N: its effect activates. Sending Red Wyvern to your Extra Deck!

Announcer: Woah! The challenger cleared Jack's field of his only monster!

Jack: I don't think so! I activate the action spell, Evasion! Negating your attack!

Y/N: Darn it... Fine. I set a card and end.

Jack: Draw. I summon a second Red Resonator. I then Special Summon Red Warg!

A wolf monster appears.

Jack: I tune Red Resonator and Red Warg! Come forth! Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!

A huge demonic dragon appears on Jack's field.

Y/N: That is not good...

Jack: Now Scarlight, destroy that Black Rose Moonlight Dragon with Crimson Scorcher!

The dragon punches Black Rose with a flaming fist.

Y/N LP: 4000----> 3400)

Jack: Your turn, punk.

Y/N: You always trash talk your opponents? Cause it's getting old! I draw! I activate Return of the Dragon Lords, welcome back, Black Rose Moonlight Dragon! Black Rose will return Scarlight to your Extra Deck!

Jack: I don't think so! I activate Breakthrough Skill! This negates your Dragon's effect.

Y/N: I also summon the Tuner Monster Rider of the Storm Winds!

A sage on a dragon appears.

Y/N: I tune my Rider of the Storm Winds with Black Rose Moonlight Dragon! I Synchro Summon Stardust Spark Dragon!

Your dragon appears and roars at Jack's Scarlight.

Y/N: Now. I equip Stardust Spark Dragon with Malevolent Nuzzler! Increasing its Atk by 700!

Y/N: Attack Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend with Cosmic Spark!

Jack: I activate Miracle! This will save my dragon and I only take half the damage!

Jack: I must admit, you're the first to survive this long against me.

Y/N: I've been through war. This is nothing compared to that. I end my turn.

Jack: I draw.

Y/N: I activate Stardust Spark Dragon's effect! He can't be destroyed by battle or card effects once per turn until the End Phase.

Jack: I activate Red Break! This will destroy your Malevolent Nuzzler!

Jack: Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend, attack!

Y/N LP: 3400---> 2900

Jack: I end my turn.

Y/N: I can't lose here....

You hear a strange roar. Stardust seems to be trying to communicate with you.

Y/N: Right. I won't give up! I... DRAW! With the Pendulum Scale, I Pendulum Summon! Come on out Dread Dragon and Decoy Dragon!

Two dragons appear.

Jack: What will that do?

Y/N: You're about to find out! I tune level 2 Decoy Dragon and Level 2 Dread Dragon! I Synchro Summon a dragon born from the matter of the cosmos! Come forth! Phonon Pulse Dragon!

A small dark dragon appears beside Stardust.

(Phonon Pulse Dragon Level 4 Atk: 1900)

Jack: That won't scratch Scarlight!

Y/N: Not yet. When Phonon Pulse Dragon is Synchro summoned I can change its level anywhere from one to four. I make it level 2!

(Phonon Pulse Dragon Level: 4---> 2)

Jack: What will that do?!

Y/N: Shut up and watch! Phonon Pulse Dragon is also a Tuner monster!

Jack: No!

Y/N: That's right! I tune level 8 Stardust Spark Dragon with level 2 Phonon Pulse Dragon!

Phonon becomes two green rings and Stardust flies into them.

Y/N: Dragon that is born from the death of a star, spread your golden wings and conquer all who stand against you! I ACCEL SYNCHRO SUMMON! Rise up! Stardust Chronicle Spark Dragon!

A giant golden dragon appears.

(Stardust Chronicle Spark Dragon Level 10 Atk: 3000)

Jack: Accel Synchro?

Y/N: Yes. Now prepare to lose!

Jack: Are you mad?! Our monsters are equal in strength.

Y/N: I activate Megamorph! Doubling Chronicle's Atk!

(Chronicle Spark Dragon Atk: 3000---> 6000)

Y/N: I also activate Burden of the Mighty! This makes your monsters lose 100 Atk for each level they have.

(Scarlight Atk: 3000---> 2200)

Y/N: Stardust Chronicle Spark Dragon, end this with Star Strike Nova!

Jack: I activate Red Blast! This will destroy your monster and deal its current attack to both of us!

Y/N: Not so fast! By banishing Return of the Dragon Lords, I can prevent Stardust's destruction. Now end this!

Jack: LP: 3900---> 0

Y/N Wins

Announcer: Woah! This is quite the upset, folks!

Jack: You won. I gotta show you some respect.

He shakes your hand.

Jack: Next time we duel, things will end differently.

Y/N: I look forward to it.

You return to your room and sigh.

Y/N: I actually have someone to fight for now... I can't let her down. I have to find a way to save her just in case one of us loses... Roger said he'll only send us back if I lose. But if Selena loses, he may use her to get some kind of ransom.

You look at your mechanical arm and grunt. You remember that dreaded day as if it was yesterday.

(Flashback)

Past Y/N: Are you sure we can use this card, sir? Cloning Starving Venom might've been a bad idea.

You and Roger are in a duel. You wear a red uniform and you have Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Archfiend Black Skull Dragon on the field while Roger has an Ancient Gear Howitzer.

Roger: Just summon it. We must see if it works.

Y/N: A-Alright. I activate Polymerization. I fuse Archfiend Black Skull Dragon with Red-Eyes Black Dragon. Come forth, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!

Yuri's dragon appears but it turns to face you and lets out a very ominous growl.

Y/N: S-Sir...

Roger deactivates his duel disk and watches as the dragon approaches you.

Y/N: Nice dragon... Good dragon...

The dragon lunges and you block with your arm. You hear a sickening crunch just before the duel system shuts down thanks to the Professor.

You look at where your arm used to be and stare in horror.

Leo: Roger, you have a lot of explaining to do.

(End of Flashback)

Y/N: He will pay... Not only will I protect Selena, but I will have revenge on Roger. He knew the plan was doomed from the start yet he still had me test it personally. I wouldn't be here today if the Professor hadn't intervened. But why did he seem so concerned for me... I may never know.
