Chapter 7

(Y/n) rubbed the tiredness out of her eyes. She was laying in her bed, seemingly unable to go to sleep.

If only I knew who had helped me, you thought. Ever since that man had saved her, (Y/n) wasn't entirely sure who it could have been. She had even considered Yugi, since he had been approaching her before the man had saved her.

Yeah right, she thought. That man had more confidence than Yugi's ever had in his life! It seems impossible that they're the same person...

"Not as impossible as you think," a voice spoke up from the shadows of the bedroom.

For a moment, (Y/n) lay in her bed, struck with fear and shock. Then, she bolted upwards, and looked into the darkness. "Who are you?!" You whispered loudly.

A rich, deep chuckle met her question. Looking into the darkness, (Y/n) felt a shiver run down her spine as crimson red eyes met her (e/c) ones.

It's that man who saved me! She thought. Why is he here?

(Y/n) crouched a little further away from the man. "What are you doing here?" She mumbled.

There was a hint of moonlight that shone in her room, allowing (Y/n) to make out his face. He had a narrow face with pale skin, ignited by his fiery eyes. He wore a navy blue Domino High jacket and pants, with a white button-up shirt underneath.Unlike the rest of his outfit, which was clean and sharp-looking, he wore slightly worn running shoes.

The thing that shocked (Y/n) the most, however, was his necklace and his hair.

"Yugi?" You whispered. The man nodded, acknowledging her comment.

His golden bangs now shot upwards, and his hair was a lot more messier. The pyramid necklace that rested just under his chest gleamed in the faint moonlight.

"You still haven't answered my question," (Y/n) answered, her voice quivering. "Why are you here?"

Yugi tilted his head to the side. "Well, I thought I'd help answer a few questions about who saved you," he blinked, his eyes not leaving you.

(Y/n) looked away. "But why in the middle of the night? Surely you have other things to do, like..... Sleeping?" She couldn't help but let her lips curl into a small smile.

Yugi walked a little closer to (Y/n). He paused, then sat on the edge of her bed. "What could me more important than helping a dear friend?" (Y/n) was about to answer, but Yugi beat her to it, placing one finger on her lips. "Nothing," he said.

(Y/n) felt another shiver as Yugi smiled once more. Even though it was light, his gaze seemed to burn right through her body. (Y/n) almost felt a little comforted, maybe even intoxicated, by his presence. But even she knew better.

" That's very nice of you," she said, gently pushing Yugi's finger away. " But right now I need to get some sleep! Maybe we could slow down before..." She trailed off, realizing that she had made a heavy hint at what he was intending.

Yugi only nodded. "Of course," he said reassuringly. "If you ever need me, don't hesitate to come and talk to me,"

(Y/n) suddenly blinked, and Yugi was gone.

Was I asleep the entire time?  She thought, but there was one thing that convinced her otherwise.

You can't feel tiredness in your dreams.
