The Revelation

Jaden POV

I was tossing and turning in my bed, sweat pouring down my forehead as I had the worst nightmare of my life. Ever since I came to Duel Academy Island, the nightmares have profoundly gotten worse by the nights. This time, it was a whole lot different and a whole lot frightening.

"This is the future for all mankind!" Nightshroud proclaimed in glory, his towering cloaked skeletal figure shrouded in dark aura as he showed me the future of the world - all of it desolate and utterly destroyed. "This is the fate that awaits you all!"

"No it won't!" I bellowed, anger and fear roaring through my veins. "I won't allow you to destroy this world! This is my home, and I will protect it!"

"Then you are a fool, Jaden Yuki," the dark figure sneered. "The fate of the world is sealed. The world of Darkness will come, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. I am the future of all mankind! It is unavoidable!"

"We'll see about that, Nightshroud!" I yelled at him, drawing a card. "Neos, ATTACK!"

Neos Wiseman raced forward and shot a powerful blast of energy towards Nightshrouds Darkness Seed, but something was off. Why is it that Nightshroud was acting different than before!

Then he smiled...if a skeletal figure could smile that is. Suddenly, tendrils of shadows wrapped around my feet and legs, and they were snaking up towards my chest. I looked down in horror and fear, praying for it to stop.

"Ah, so you have returned to this time, Jaden Yuki," he gloated. "What an interesting turn of events. No matter, your victory is still slim to none. This time, I WILL BE VICTORIOUS!"

"NO!" I screamed, trying to break free of the shadows that were now up to my neck. "Yubel, Supreme King, HELP ME!"

The shadows now wrapped around my head-

"AHHH!" I woke up from my nightmare, panting wildly and sweating.

I looked around my room, making sure that I didn't wake Syrus or Chumley up. I looked at the time it said on my watch, seeing that it was almost one in the morning. I shook my head, getting out of the bottom bunk of the bed I shared with Syrus and Chumley, placing my head in my hands.

That was the worst nightmare I ever had. Now I was sure of two things: one, Nightshroud knows I'm from the future; two, he's gonna stop at nothing to make sure that I won't stop him this time. I could still feel the shadows wrapping around me, and I instantly shivered.

I had to get some air. The whole room that I was in was completely dark except for the night lamp on the desk. I got changed into my usual attire and walked outside, sighing in relief as I felt the cool air on my face. For that one moment, I felt at peace. But like always that peace was disturbed.

Something to my right caught my eye. I turned around and I saw Alexis heading down the path towards what I knew as the Abandoned Dorm. I knew why she would go there - as I recalled, this day marked one year since the disappearance of Atticus, the older brother of Alexis and literally one of my friends three years ahead in the future. I decided, just for the sake in making sure she was safe, to follow.

There was actually another reason why I followed her. Remembering that Alexis got kidnapped by Titan, the illusionist tough guy that I faced in my first year, I wanted to make sure at it never happened again. The last time I fought him, he had angered the spirits of the Shadow Realm when he was pretending that he could banish a person to that very place. If it weren't for Winged Kuriboh, I wouldn't have been able to come to my senses, and when that happened, it was very bad indeed.

Speaking of Winged Kuriboh, the little Winged fuzzball appeared next to me, giving me that purring noise it makes when it speaks to me. I have no idea how I could understand - maybe it was because of my ability to see Duel Monsters in the first place, or the fact that thanks to Yubel and the Gentle Darkness that I can understand them.

"Don't worry about, old pal," I smiled at him, patting it on its tiny little head. "I'm sure that whatever happens, we'll make sure that Nightshroud doesn't succeed in his plan. Plus, we'll be doing it together."

Winged Kuriboh gave me a happy look as it bounced on my left shoulder, before vanishing into my deck again.

It was a good ten minute walk, but I saw Alexis kneeling in front of the gate to the Abandoned Dorm, which was almost completely pitch black against the dark blue night sky, its windows cracked and dirty, and the dome of the Dorm looking like it was about to cave in. While I stood behind a tree, I saw that Alexis was laying a bunch of flowers down, along with a letter that was clearly addressed to Atticus. I heard her mumble something, but for now I could tell that if I interrupted her, it would be the end of me.

But the aura of the Abandoned Dorm was pulling at me like a magnet. I could sense the pulsing darkness from outside the building. I tried very hard to forget what it was like on the inside, but it was very hard to do so because a lot had happened in that Dorm, before the spirit of Honest completely demolished it during the events of my last year at Duel Academy. And I know that Honest's card was in that Dorm, because Yusuke had left it there just to protect it from his plans of acquiring Nightshroud's power.

So, after much hesitation, I stepped out into the moonlight and and walked over to Alexis, who was staring still at the flowers she laid down. I knew that intruding on a personal matter such as this would not be a good idea, but at the same time, there were two things that I needed to do.

1. Investigate, and locate Honest's card, keeping it safe until I can give it back to Yusuke when he comes back to his senses.

2. Make sure Titan didn't come snooping around to try and kidnap Alexis again.

I stood behind Alexis as she continued to kneel in front of the little shrine she had set up for Atticus. She didn't notice me at first, but then she tensed and turned her head around to look at me. She looked startled.

"Jeez, at least warn me that you are standing behind me next time!" she gasped as she stood up. "I didn't even hear you. How do you do that?"

I shrugged. "I can be silent when I want to be." I looked at the Abandoned Dorm. "So, this is the place that's strictly off limits, huh?"

Alexis turned her head towards the Dorm, a grim and sad look on her face. "Yeah. This belonged to the senior Obelisk Blue students, until all the students inside it just went missing over a year ago now. No one knows where they are, or where they went. It's considered cursed by most of the staff, and has officially been restricted to any other students."

I feigned interest, since I knew already but I put on a calm mask just for her sake. I looked down at the photo of Atticus. "And I'm guessing this guy was one of them?"

Alexis had a pained look on her face as she looked back at the photo. "He was my brother - Atticus. He was here at the Academy before I came, two years ahead of me. This Dorm was where he and several others stayed. I have no idea where he is. I just hope that he's okay, wherever he is."

"He definitely isn't," Yubel said beside me in her spirit form. "If this is where he stayed, then I feel sorry for him."

I was about to answer her back before something completely shocked me. Alexis frowned and turned her head to my right, her eyes widening...as she looked directly at Yubel in shock and surprise.

"What the heck?!" she shrieked, stepping back from me, pressing her back against the gate. "How-what-where did Yubel come from?!"

It was time for my eyes to widen, as I looked back and forth between Alexis and Yubel (who looked just as shocked as Alexis). "Wait a second - you can see Yubel?"

Alexis looked at me like it was a dumb question to ask. "Uh, yeah! She's standing right next to you! How is that even possible?!"

I held up both my hands. "Okay, let's just calm down here. She's not gonna hurt you, she's harmless."

Alexis looked pale, but started calming down. She looked at me warily. "How can you say that? Are you not the least bit concerned that one of your monsters is standing right next to you?"

"There's nothing concerning about me, Alexis Rhodes," Yubel said, finally taking physical form. "I'm a part of Jaden. My soul is linked with his, and it allows me to watch over him like I swore I would. And because of that, some of my powers are his now."

"Powers?" Alexis frowned. "What powers?"

"The ability to summon monsters with my own will," I sighed, leaning on one of the gate pillars. "It's a bit complicated to explain, Alexis. You weren't suppose to find out about Yubel...yet."

"Yet?" the Obelisk Queen demanded, folding her arms now with a stern look on her face. "Okay, you've got some explaining to do. I can see Yubel clearly, but that doesn't explain how I can. So tell me what I want to know, right now."

I shook my head, unwilling to tell her. But a quick look from Yubel made me change my mind.

"Jaden, you might as well tell her," she said, giving me an apologetic look. "She can see me, so what's the point of keeping me a secret?"

I knew she was right, but I couldn't bring myself to say anything. But then again, I couldn't keep anything from Alexis. Never could before, never can now. I looked at her in the eye.

"The reason why you can see Yubel is because of me and that Dorm," I said, nodding my head towards the derelict Dormitory.

Alexis looked where I pointed, frowning even further. "What do you mean?"

I was about to say something, but then something came up behind me and slammed something into my head. I dropped to my knees, groaning in pain as I clutched the back of my head. Alexis screamed in fear, and through my hazy vision I saw a big burly man carry Alexis and rush into the Abandoned Dorm.

I struggled to my feet, my head pounding like hell. I knew who that guy was - after all, he kidnapped Alexis the first time. It was Titan, the guy who thought he could control the Shadow Realm.

"This is not happening again," I growled as I primed my duel disk, my anger levels rising. "That guy is so screwed!"

"Jaden, control your emotions," Yubel said worriedly. "You know what happens when you lose control of them."

"Yubel is right, Jaden," Banner said, appearing next to me in spirit. "Last time you gave in to your anger, your dark side completely took over. You can't let that happen again."

"I don't care!" I shouted, running towards the Dorm entrance. "Alexis is in trouble, and I'm not gonna leave her!"

I rammed down the front door, and delved into the darkness of the Dorm, knowing which part of the place Titan was heading to.
========
I rushed into the cave section that was connected to the Dorm, knowing full well that Titan was waiting there for me. I ran down the stone hallway, all the Egyptian hieroglyphics glowing gold in the darkness, like they were reacting to my presence. Soon, I saw the opening and rushed into the dim lighting of the duelling arena where me and Atticus last duelled.

The duel arena was surrounded by craggy walls that looked faded and corroded. The whole room pulsed with dark energy, and I knew that the spirits of the Shadow Realm could sense me because I suddenly felt really cold. In the centre was the Seal that Yusuke stood on when he called Nightshroud, the ancient words older than I thought. Standing there was Titan, his hand on Alexis's shoulder as she looked at me, her hands tied behind her back. Titan smirked as he saw me.

"Ah, so you've decided to come here," he said with a sadistic smirk. "That was a big mistake, foolish boy."

I glared at Titan, my anger levels rising. I knew that if I didn't a hold on them, then I would completely lose it and do something I would regret later on. I looked to my right, seeing the Supreme King standing next to me with his arms crossed, his gold eyes glaring at the trench cloaked man.

"Let Alexis go," I demanded, "before I come over there and kick your ass off this island."

"You're in no position to make threats," Titan sneered. "Now, we're going to duel, and the loser gets sent to the Shadow Realm. I'm certain you know what that is?"

I growled loudly, my anger spiking as he talked.

"Jaden, calm down," the Supreme King thought to me. "Don't let your anger cloud your mind."

At that last part, I knew straight away that the consequences of me losing control of my emotions would be disastrous. I didn't want to end up like before - using the power of fusion to cause destruction left, right and centre. It had cost me my friends once before, and I will not let it happen again, if it was the last thing I did.

"Please, take over for me," I thought quickly to him, "before I lose control of my emotions."

The King thought for a moment, before he nodded and vanished into the back of my mind, and soon I found myself back into the Mirror Room where I stayed while Chazz faced off against the King.

Alexis POV

I struggled to get out of Titans grip, but it wasn't as easy as I thought. The guy was over 6'9 feet, and his grip was like iron. He had his face hidden behind a silver mask and he wore a top hat and his voice was very deep when he spoke. For once, I felt truly scared - I was the hostage in this situation and all I could do was look at Jaden, who stared at Titan with a very angry look in his eyes.

"So what's it going to be, boy?" Titan smirked. "Are you going to save your friend? She can be saved if you defeat me in a Shadow Game, which I never lose in."

I looked at Jaden, my worry for him returning. Titan had obviously given him an ultimatum that he obviously can't avoid. I had no idea what he was going to decide on, and to be fair that got me worried.

"Obviously, you don't know what you're signing yourself up for, Titan," he said with his eyes cast downwards and closed. "You don't own the shadows. They don't do your bidding."

"Are you doubting my powers?" Titan said with a angry glint in his eyes. "I have the power to make the Shadow Realm take your very soul, and I will do."

Jaden was silent for a moment...before he started to laugh. I knew that laugh. It was the same laugh he had when he faced Chazz...when he was taken over by that spirit friend of his.

I looked at Titan, smirking. "You're screwed."

Titan looked down at me, a frown on his face. "And why is that, little girl?"

"Because you're facing someone on a completely new scale."

I looked back, and saw Jaden in those dark clothes of his: his jacket and jeans going nightmare black and his eyes blazing yellow. Shadows started swirling around him as he raised his duel disk.

The Supreme King was back, and he was looking directly at Titan with that harsh glare of his.

"You won't escape this place, you foolish mortal," the King snarled, his monotone voice echoing through the whole cavern. "You are going down."

Suddenly, the shadows started to surround the entire arena floor, which really unsettled Titan to no end since he looked madly around at the surrounding area. For someone who says that he can control the Shadow Realm, he sure did seem edgy. "What is this? I didn't do this!"

The Supreme King didn't answer. Instead, he looked at me with those gold eyes of his and lifted his right hand.

Suddenly, shadows wrapped around me and my vision went black for a moment. Next thing I knew, I was lying on my side behind the Supreme King. I looked around confused, until I looked back at him and nodded in thanks. He nodded with a smile and looked back at Titan.

"You will not harm her," he said in a serious tone. "Not as long as I'm around."

Supreme King: 4000 LP
Titan: 4000 LP

"Fine then," Titan said, drawing his five cards. "If that's the way you want to play, then I'll just have to send you to the Shadows. I draw!" He looked at his sixth card. "I summon Infernalqueen Archfiend in attack mode."

His female Archfiend monster appeared on the field, screeching loudly as it looked at the Supreme King.

(Infernalqueen Archfiend - 900/1500)

"When this monster is on the field, all other Archfiend monsters gain one thousand points, including herself as long as she's face-up on the field. So she's at nineteen hundred points."

(Infernalqueen Archfiend - 1900/1500)

"Next, I activate the field spell card called Pandemonium."

Suddenly, the whole field changed scenery and it turned into some sort of cavern with several skeletal shrines and pillars lining the walls of the arena.

"Thanks to this field spell, if I control an Archfiend monster, I don't have to give up Life Points that any Archfiend monster forces me to give up. Plus, if you destroy an Archfiend monster on my field, I get to add another one that has a lower level from my deck. With that, I end my turn. It's your move, you little runt."

The Supreme King didn't acknowledge that last part. I swear, this guy was so calm that he could he could've been a statue in his previous life.

"I draw," he said, looking at his sixth card. "If you think that you're going to escape from your monsters Life Point Cost effect, then you're sadly mistaken. I activate my Mystical Space Typhoon, which lets me destroy one of your spell or trap cards. And I'm choosing your Pandemonium field spell."

The whole scene vanished, as the whole cavern returned to normal. Titan looked shocked that Jaden had destroyed his card so easily.

"Next, I activate my Dark Fusion spell card," the Supreme King the said, holding that evil spell card of his. "With this, I can fuse together two of my monsters from my hand to create a Dark-Type monster. So I fuse Elemental HERO's Sparkman and Clayman together to form...my Evil HERO Lightning Golem in attack mode!"

A portal appeared on the field, and from it came a massive giant with shoulder blades resembling lightning bolts, with a stocky body that sparked with live electricity.

(Evil HERO Lightning Golem - 2400/1500)

"And thanks to this monster, I can therefore activate its special ability," the King said. "Once a turn, he can wipe out one of your monsters, and I'm definitely going to use it on that pathetic excuse of a monster that you got out."

"Not on my watch you won't," Titan said, holding up his hand where six balls appeared in his hand, hovering in the air. "I activate my monsters own ability. You see these balls? If one of them light up, and they happen to be either a 'two' or 'five', then I get to negate your monsters ability and destroy it."

"Don't think so," the King shook his head in amusement. "On the turn that one of my Evil Heroes are summon via the effects of Dark Fusion, they're unaffected by any effects you might throw they're way."

"Even so, I can stop your monsters effect," Titan said, looking at the balls hovering above his hand. Five seconds later, he paled in fear as the ball with the number 'three' was lit up. "What?! This can't be!"

"What a shame," the King smirked. "Lightning Golem, take that Archfiend out!"

His giant monster threw a ball of crackling energy towards Titans monster, resulting in the monster screeching as it was blasted to pieces.

"And the best part is that my Lightning Golem can still attack this turn! Voltic Volley Assault!"

His monster struck again, sending a wave of electricity towards Titan, who screamed as he was shocked badly.

Supreme King: 4000 LP
Titan: 1600 LP

"With that, I set one card facedown and then end my turn," the King said, placing one card in his black duel disks magic/trap card zone.

Titan growled as he stood up, his face showing annoyance and anger. "How dare you! You'll pay for that, you insolent little worm! I discard Desrook Archfiend from my hand to the graveyard to summon back my Infernalqueen Archfiend back to the field. Then I draw one card and summon my Terrorking Archfiend in attack mode!"

A new Archfiend monster appeared on the field, looking more grander than his Infernalqueen and way more stronger.

(Terrorking Archfiend - 2000/1500)

"I can only summon this monster if I possess an Archfiend monster on my field. And thanks to the fact that my Infernalqueen is out, my Terrorking gets an extra one thousand points. Let's see how you'll get out of this one."

(Terroking Archfiend - 3000/1500)

"Terrorking, attack his Golem!" Titan shouted.

His monster rushed forward and was about to swipe at the Supreme Kings monster, but Titan must've forgotten about the Kings facedown in his anger.

"I activate my facedown - Widespread Ruin!" he shouted. "With this card, I can destroy one of your monsters that has the highest attack! And with that being said, I'll get rid of that Terrorking!"

"Not unless my monsters ability kicks in!" Titan snapped, six balls appearing in his outstretched hand once again. "If the number happens to land on either 'two' or 'five', then that trap card of yours is destroyed!" He looked at the balls in his hand, before one of them lit up.

"One?!" Titan exclaimed in fear. "What's with this thing?!"

"Bad luck today, Titan. Now, Terrorking Archfiend, BE GONE!"

Titans monster roared in pain, before it exploded into a million particles and vanished from sight.

"And since, you've ended your turn, you lose five hundred points thanks to the effect of your Infernalqueen."

Supreme King: 4000 LP
Titan: 1100 LP

"No, this can't be!" Titan growled, looking at the Supreme King. "You were suppose to be scared and losing! My client told me that you would leave!"

"And pray tell, who would that client be?" the King asked with one eyebrow raised.

Titan looked like he was going to answer, but instead brought out from his trench coat what looked like an upside down pyramid, with an eye in the middle of one of its faces.

"If you will not be scared from this duel, then be scared of having your friend being sent to the Shadow Realm! With the power of this Millennium Pendant, she will be locked away forever!"

My eyes widened...but then turned into a frown when the Supreme King started laughing, which sounded scary in that monotone voice of his.

"You think I'm that stupid?" he asked Titan. "There's no such thing as the Millennium Pendant. There's only seven Millennium Items in the world: the Scales, the Eye, the Rod, the Necklace, the Ring, the Key and the Puzzle. Yours resemble the Puzzle, but I can tell that it's a fake, since there's no such thing as the Millennium Pendant."

Titan suddenly looked frightened now, as he started backing away from the duelling arena, but the Kings shadow waves kept him from going any further. "No, this can't be happening! No, please let me go! Please Jaden Yuki, I beg you!"

"I am NOT Jaden," the King snarled, as he drew a card from his deck, his golden eyes glowing even brighter than usual. "I am FEAR. I am your undoing. I am the timeless curse. The end of all things!"

He looked at the cards in his hand, quickly playing them. "I activate Pot Of Greed, which means I get to draw two cards from my deck, giving me four cards in total - four cards that I'll use to beat you with. Next, I activate my Vicious Claw spell card, which grants my Lightning Golem 300 hundred more points. But wait, I'm not done yet. Now I activate my Heavy Storm spell card, which lets me destroy every magic and trap card on the field. And since my Vicious Claw was destroyed, it gets sent back to my hand. Plus, you lose six hundred points of damage and lose your Infernalqueen Archfiend."

Titan groaned, as he was shocked by a spark of electricity and his monster got destroyed. I had no idea why he didn't use it's effect to negate the effect of Vicious Claw. Maybe he thought that he wouldn't risk getting another wrong number or something?

"But not to worry, you get something out of it," the King stated, pointing a finger at Titan, who stepped back. "When Vicious Claw gets sent back to my hand, an Evil Token is summoned to your field."

Titan looked to his right, seeing one of those gargoyle monsters that the King gave Chazz in their duel.

(Evil Token - 2500/2500)

"And now, the stage is set," the black clothed man said. "For my victory and your defeat, Titan. I sacrifice my Lightning Golem to summon Evil HERO Malicious Edge!"

His clawed menace fiend monster appeared in front of him, chuckling darkly.

(Evil HERO Malicious Edge - 2600/1200)

"If you control a monster on your side of the field, I can summon this Evil HERO with only one sacrifice. But that doesn't stop there, because I'm going to end this duel and show you what REAL power feels like!"

He then sent one card to the graveyard. "You brought this upon yourself, mortal." He raised his next card in the air, and I gasped at what it was. "Now you learn the way of TRUE darkness! I activate SUPER POLYMERIZATION!" When he roared that last part out, his voice echoed loudly around the whole cavern and arena.

It was the card that Jaden used in his duel against Yugi. Suddenly, a black portal appeared behind me and him, it's energy waves sucking in the air around us. I quickly wrapped my arms around the Supreme Kings torso, burying my face into his back and holding on for dear life.

Titan struggled to stay on his feet. "What is that?!"

"I'm playing Super Polymerization," the King stated as his hair whipped in the wind. "With that, I can fuse any of my monsters with any monster that you have out on your field, like my Malicious Edge and your Evil Token. And the best part is that this card cannot be negated by any card effects you might activate."

"But that means I'm left wide open!" Titan screamed in panic. "NOOOOO!"

His Evil Token got sucked into the vortex of power, along with the Kings Malicious Edge. For a moment, I couldn't see anything but soon the swirling mass of dark energy disappeared and a new monster appeared.

It looked like the Kings Malicious Edge, but it looked even nastier: it had longer claws on each wrists, and its wings looked even sharper than before. Plus, its head had several spikes coming out of it like a spiked crown. It even looked more human than the last one.

"Say hello to Evil HERO Malicious Fiend," the Supreme King said, punching his fist towards a cowering Titan. "And say goodbye! Malicious Fiend, END THIS NOW!"

(Evil HERO Malicious Fiend - 3500/2100)

His monster shot into the air, and sent a volley of dark claws towards Titan, who screamed as they collided into him, causing a huge explosion. I closed my eyes for that part, as it was too horrible to watch.

Supreme King: 4000 LP
Titan: 0 LP

When I opened my eyes, I saw that I was standing on a coastal cliff overlooking the ocean. The cold night air was an actual shock to me, because it grabbed at my back. I was feeling warm however on my front, since I was still holding onto the King, my arms still wrapped around his torso.

Wait a second, was I holding onto the Supreme King? I didn't look like it, because the King didn't wear a red jacket and he sure as hell didn't have a pair of chocolate brown eyes that looked down on me with worry.

"Jaden?" I said in a shaky voice, glad that he was back to his senses.

He finally cracked a smile, before nodding towards my arms being wrapped around his waist. "You can let go now, Alexis."

I blushed, quickly letting him go and wrapping my arms around myself, trying to stay warm which utterly failed. "Your spirit friend is really terrifying."

"Yeah, he's like that sometimes, but he has his gentle side," Jaden said. He noticed me shivering in the cold and took his jacket off, wrapping it around me. I mentally thanked him for that, even though his jacket was slightly bigger than me.

"What happened to Titan?" I asked quietly. "The Supreme King didn't...?"

Jaden shook his head. "He might be ruthless, but he isn't a killer. The Supreme King sent Titan packing. That masked freak won't be visiting Duel Academy Island for a while."

I nodded, relieved that no one was seriously hurt in that duel. Then I frowned. "How did we get here? I thought we were in the Abandoned Dorm."

Jaden had that look in his eyes again - the one that I always thought made him look mischievous. "I have my ways."

"Yeah, you sure do," Yubel said, appearing once again, which then in turn made me remember what Jaden was about to say to me before the whole Titan business came up.

"Now that I can still see Yubel, you mind explaining how I can see her still?" I asked Jaden, pulling his jacket tighter around me.

Jaden sighed, like he knew this would play out. He nodded, before sitting down on the ledge of the cliff and motioning for me to sit next to him. "You might want to sit down for this, because it might take a while for me to explain it all to you."
=============
I stared at Jaden, wide-eyed as he finished explaining everything to me. With a little help from Yubel, he managed to tell me all about his life - from his own time apparently, and then how he somehow got into this time. It was really hard to imagine that he was from the future, but then again he did seem a little different from anyone else. He had that aura around him for starters: an aura of a guy who had been through a lot and that he was still somehow managing to cope with it. Plus, he was older than I thought - when I first met him, he did seem like he was too old to join the Academy, but he still got through.

I looked down at the ocean, as I absorbed all of this. "This is a lot to take in."

Jaden nodded, also looking at the ocean. "And that, Alexis Rhodes, is the understatement of the century. How do you think I feel?"

I looked at him. "You're from the future? What future is this?"

"I'm from the year 2032, three years from now," Jaden said, not even looking at me.

"But then...how did you get here, in this time?" I questioned him. I didn't exactly want to press him for answers, but my curiously got the best of me. "You said that this Yuesi friend of yours was taking you home. So how are you here?"

"Along the way in the time stream, his Duel Runner acted up and I lost my grip," Jaden said. He indicated Yubel, who was standing at his right. "If it weren't for Yubel, I would've kept on falling through the time stream."

"He went unconscious during his fall," Yubel said, explaining her version of events. "I managed to grab him, and brought us here in this time. When I found out where we were and when we were, I immediately told him when he gained consciousness."

I nodded along with the story. Even though it was completely crazy, I knew that the two of them were telling the truth. But I still wanted to see if it wasn't real. "Can you prove that you are indeed from the future?"

Jaden thought about it for a moment, before he reached into his jacket that was still wrapped around me, and pulled out a single piece of paper that was neatly folded. He looked at it for one tender moment, before handing it to me.

I opened the thing up, and I was almost hit by a wave of emotion. On it were several messages with drawn out images of several students I know. Two of them were Syrus and Chazz. Somewhere in the middle was a message written by a guy named Hasselberry, whose message read out: "Keep on going, Sarge. And good luck!" On the top left of the letter was a message written by Atticus, my own brother: "Take care of yourself, Jay. And thank you." So he knew my own brother, so I know that Jaden knows that Atticus is alright in the future.

Then at the top right of the page was my message: "Be safe, wherever you are. X" I must've been that close to him to give him a kiss on the end of a message because I rarely do that on any message. And I could tell that it was me writing it because it was my own handwriting. We must've known each other in his time: that would explain the kindness and look of familiarity that he always gave me, and the look of sadness because he must've missed the future me in his time.

I carefully folded the letter up, and handed it back to Jaden. "Well, there's no point in denying it any further. You really are from the future."

Jaden nodded, a small smile on his face as he saw the sun rising above the sea level. When the sunlight reached his face, not only did it light up his eyes, but it also revealed Yubel and the Supreme King, who both looked at the sun with a content look on their faces. Now I understood why they looked at the sun so much when it sets and when it's rises - they must've not seen the sun once in that Dark Dimension they were in.

Suddenly, Jaden stood up.  He looked at the sunrise one last time before turning to me. "We best get back to our Dorms. We don't wanna get into trouble, two weeks after we just got here to Duel Academy."

"For you, you seem alright with it," I said, noticing the look of longing in his eyes as he took in Duel Academy's main building.

Jaden chuckled. "For me, I'm not worried. I'm back home."

At that I smiled. That was so true - even after everything he went through in his time, he still focused on the positive things. So after I gave him his jacket back, we just walked together towards our respected Dorms, with me thinking that things just got more interesting than I thought.
===========

In the vast darkness of the Abandoned Dorm, Dr. Crowler was looking around with his search light, looking for Titan who he had hired, wanting to get Jaden off the island and away from the Academy. The boy had enraged and annoyed him for the last time, and to think that he could threaten to make him lose his job at the Academy? That was just outrageous! So with that thought in his mind, he set out to make sure that Yuki was gone.

"Titan, where are you?" Dr. Crowler called out, walking into a large room that would've been one of the main living rooms. "Is the job done? Is Yuki terrified?"

He saw nothing, just the never ending darkness. But then, in the dim light of his torch, he saw a card on the floor. He reached down and saw that it was Titans Pandemonium card. That made Crowler twitch with rage. Titan would never leave one of his cards behind unless-

"He LOST?!" he shouted in anger. "What sort of Shadow Duellist is he?! Grrr, if none of these things will get Jaden expelled, then I'll have to it myself! I swear I will get that little-"

"Silence."

Crowler looked up, wondering where that voice came from. To be honest, if creeped him out because the voice was hoarse, deep and obviously not friendly.

"Your ranting and raving bores me to no end. Your demeanour is that of a pouty child, and apparently, you don't know the significance of little Jaden Yuki being here on this island."

"Look, whoever you are, I didn't mean no harm to Jaden Yuki," Dr. Crowler said, almost in a desperate tone, raising his hands up in a surrendering fashion and stepping back. "I only intended to scare him away."

"Your selfishness and cruelty serves you credit," the dark voice said. "But I must have Jaden Yuki stay here on this island. I will not let my revenge slip away from me again. He will pay most dearly for ruining my plans on bringing my world of Darkness to this world."

"World of Darkness?" Crowler said with a shaky tone. "Who are you?!"

Suddenly, a large shape of a figure began to form in the shadows. It was over ten feet high; it looked like it had some sort of cloak on it; and its eyes glowed a bright blue that seemed to be on fire. Tendrils of darkness were rippling of its body, pulsing in waves that was seriously scaring Crowler.

"Who I am, isn't important. But what I do know is that you will cease your talking."

It raised what looked like a skeletal hand, and now Crowler was shaking badly enough that the torch was rattling.

"PERMANENTLY!"

No one saw what was going on that night/early morning, and no one definitely heard Crowlers scream of terror rattle through the thick walls of the Abandoned Dorm, or the mad deep laughter of the Dark Presence that lingered in that Dorm until it faded, waiting for Jaden Yuki to come back.
