Mine and Yugi's Rematch

(Hey guys! Just quickly: this song that I've added is a song from a friend in mine back in Alaska. Hope the song was a good choice for the duel. Cheers folks!)

As I was getting my stuff ready for my time at the Academy again, Syrus decided to ring up and come round my hotel room.

After my duel against Crowler, a lot of the new students were coming up to me and were saying how awesome I was at duelling. Syrus was one of them, and he immediately asked me if I could stay over at my hotel room since he was already done packing his stuff just in case he got through. Since he did, he was looking for a place to stay, so I allowed him to stay until tomorrow when we had to leave for the ride to Duel Academy.

"How did you get these monsters of yours?" he asked me, as he individually looked at my cards which were spread out on the nearby coffee table.

I smiled, looking over my shoulder as I was folding up several of my clothes. "I liked the concept of the Elemental HERO's, since I could fuse them together to create stronger ones. The Neo-Spacians are a different story. They're my own creation."

"You created these?!" Syrus exclaimed, picking up my Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab card. "Wow! I never knew you created them! When did you get them?"

"I was sixteen at the time when I got them," I explained, deciding that I could tell him at least one of my stories, without explaining that I was in fact from the future. "I was about five when I first created them. KaibaCorp was introducing a Duel Monsters designing competition, where you could create your own cards, which I thought was a sweet idea - having your own monsters of your own design. The winning designs would then get sent into space, because at that time there was some sort of cosmic force that would make the cards more powerful. My Neos designs got sent up into space, and I got them back years later."

Syrus looked at my cards in awe. "Awesome!"

Then he looked at my most valued cards - Yubel and Winged Kuriboh. He picked up Kuriboh. "How come you got this card in your deck?"

I smiled as I took Kuriboh out of his hand. "It was a gift from a friend of mine. I had this little guy for years, and I always treasured it. That and my Yubel card."

Syrus looked at my childhood card. "Well, I admit she ones seem powerful. Heck, being a ten star monster, it must be strong. But she doesn't seem to fit the theme of your deck, so why have her in it?"

I smiled, knowing full well that Yubel was by my side, listening to my every word. "Let's just say that I have a deep connection with that card. That, believe it or not, was my first ever card as far as I remember. I always thought that it was one of the coolest and sweetest cards I could ever have in a deck. If I could turn to one card to save me, I know she would be the one."

Yubel smiled, looking ready to cry with tears of pure happiness.

Suddenly, the door knocked, making Syrus jump. I frowned slightly, wondering who was knocking. I opened the hotel room, and saw one of the staff members there.

"Hi, is this Mr Yuki's room?" she asked kindly.

"Yeah, that's me," I said.

"Oh, good," she smiled, handing out a letter. "I was asked to give you this letter."

"Really?" I said with wide eyes, grabbing the letter. "Thanks!"

The staff lady nodded, and walked down the hallway. I closed the door, and stared at the letter.

"Who's it from?" Syrus asked, looking up.

I shrugged, opening the letter. "I have no idea, Sy. But I'm about to find out."

I opened it up and saw that it was just a single piece of paper, which I started to read:

Dear Jaden,
I cannot express how happy I am to hear from you again. For a moment, I thought that I wouldn't see you again until much later. My grandfather told me that you sent me a letter earlier and I decided to respond to it.
I am writing to you to say that I will spend some time with you until you go to Duel Academy tomorrow. But how about this: why don't we duel each other again? I remembered how you duelled with such heart and passion in our duel against Paradox with Yusei on our side, and our duel before that. And I would like to see if you have improved in your duelling.
I will be meeting you at the town square, duel disk and deck ready. Meet me there at five pm, and let's see if you still have the same belief in the heart of the cards that I do.
See you soon my friend,

"...Yugi," I finished, my eyes widening with each word said.

Syrus' mouth was open in shock. "Hold the phone! You're friends with Yugi Muto?!"

I nodded, reading the letter again and looking at my watch. It was half four right now, and I instantly rushed to get my deck sorted. "There is no way I'm missing this duel! And I can't believe that this letter only just came!"

I immediately lunged towards my duel disk, and slapped it onto my left wrist, rushing out of the hotel room with Syrus running behind me.

We both rushed out of the hotel, and I was about to continue running when I pumped into Alexis and her two friends - literally, crashing into them and making all of us tumble to the ground.

"Ow!" Jasmine and Mindy groaned as they struggled to their feet. They glared at me. "Hey, watch where you're going pal!"

Then they noticed that Alexis had somehow fallen on my back as I lay facedown on the concrete floor. She immediately blushed, and got onto her feet, extending a hand to me.

"Hey, you alright there?" she politely asked.

I nodded, jumping up to my feet. "Yeah, I'm good. I'm in a mad rush, but I'm doing good. Not just good, but excited!" I looked at my watch, paling at the time. "Aw jeez, I gotta get to the town square, otherwise I'm late!"

I started rushing off, much to Alexis's and her friends bewilderment. Syrus quickly said, "He's friends with Yugi Muto, and they're gonna have a duel!"

"WHAT!" the three girls all exclaimed in shock and pure excitement.

Alexis looked at me, and looked excited. "A duel against the King of Games?! Oh, this I gotta see!"

With that being said, we all rushed towards the town square, with no intention of slowing down.
===========
We all arrived at the town square, panting from our wild sprint to get there. I looked at my watch, seeing that I was little over two minutes early, though I found it a little strange that there was no sign of Yugi anywhere. This was the spot where he told me to meet him, and I knew he didn't say anywhere else. This was the place where me and him have battled before, and where me, him and Yusei battled Paradox, since it was pretty much the appropriate place to duel since it was a wide and spacious area to duel in.

I looked down the streets, seeing few people walking down each of them. "Where is he?"

Syrus looked around in a circle. "He might be on the way, and he's running late?"

"I'm not so sure about that," Alexis stated, looking around as well. "Yugi is known to be around this particular spot. It's pretty much a famous place to duel. He isn't known to be late however."

I looked at my watch again: fifty five seconds. "You're right. He's never late."

"I'm never late to say hello to a friend."

I stiffened at that voice. For a moment, I thought that I wouldn't hear that voice again. I've only heard it twice before in our past duels, and I never expected there to be a third time. I slowly turned around and saw Yugi standing there.

He looked just as I remembered - wearing that black sleeveless top of his, with dark blue jeans and black shoes. His old dark blue high school jacket was trailing behind him like a cape, and he had his belt wrapped twice around his waist line. His deck holder hung on there, and his duel disk was strapped to his wrist. Same hair, same determined and kind face, same everything.

I smiled. "Yugi Muto."

Yugi smiled back. "Jaden Yuki."

He and I both laughed in excitement and got into a bear hug. Everyone of my friends looked on in shock at our friendly interaction.

Yugi leaned back, grabbing my shoulder and chuckling. "And I never would've thought to see you again, my friend. How have you been these past few years?"

"Exhausted, but excited to be here," I answered. "You know, for a moment, I thought I was going crazy, but this is actually happening!"

"I know," Yugi chuckled. He then got a confused look on his face. "I thought you went back home? What happened?"

I looked at my friends, who took no notice of our conversation though they were looking at Yugi in awe. I looked back at him. "It's a long story. There were a few complications, and me and Yusei got separated whilst traveling back home. I ended up here."

Yugi nodded in understanding, looking worried. "How will you get home?"

I shrugged. "I can't get back. I'm pretty much stuck here. Although, i have managed to pass my exam to enter Duel Academy, so I'm not officially home yet." I winked discreetly on that part.

He acknowledged that wink, and nodded slightly, smiling again. "Well, that being said, if you need a place to stay around the summer, or on any occasion, just let me know. You're welcome to stay at mine and my grandfathers house."

"What, at KameGame?" I questioned. "The mother load of all Duel Monster cards?" I scoffed laughed. "I'm there!"

Yugi laughed heartedly, patting me on the shoulder. "Good to know. Now, about our duel...Are you sure you want to duel against me? I've made a few slight improvements to my deck over the years."

"I know, but guess what?" I smiled, showing him my duel disk which had my deck already in it. It glowed slightly. "So have I."

"Wow," Syrus breathed in awe. "You and Yugi really are going to duel. I can't believe this is happening!"

"Me neither," Alexis said with wide excited eyes. He two friends nodded in agreement.

So, me and Yugi both took out our decks, and exchanged them. I shuffled his deck thoroughly, making sure that I could at least get some of his toughest monsters near the bottom or the middle of his deck. As I did, I quickly noticed something about it.

"You don't have the Egyptian God Cards in your deck," I told him, frowning. "How come?"

Yugi tried hiding it, but I could tell that there was a sad memory behind it, though he hid it well with a smile. "I rarely use them anymore. I thought I'd change my deck, since there are new cards in the world thanks to Pegasus. Though I have kept some of my favourite cards in my deck, since I can't seem to leave them out."

I nodded in understanding, finishing the shuffling of his deck while he finished shuffling mine. We both received our decks and we walked back until there was about seven metres between us. Alexis, Syrus, Jasmine and Mindy stood behind me, looking at us in awe.

"Alright Jaden," Yugi announced, his duel disk buzzing to life as it slotted into position, "may the best duellist win. IT'S TIME TO DUEL!"

"Same to you, Yugi," I smiled, my own duel disk activating and extending. "GET YOUR GAME ON!"

Jaden: 4000 LP
Yugi: 4000 LP

"I'll make the first move!" I said, drawing my six cards, looking at them immediately. I smiled when I saw Neos and Yubel in my hand. Two of my most powerful monsters in my hand already. I checked the other four cards in my hands: Hero Cry, Hero Barrier, Necro Gardner, and Graceful Charity.

"First off, I activate Graceful Charity. This lets me draw three cards from my deck, but then I have to discard two cards to the graveyard. So, I'll draw these..." I drew my three cards (Polymerization, Elemental HERON Necroshade and Monster Reborn), "...and discard two of them." I sent Yubel and Necroshade to the graveyard.

"Now, I activate Monster Reborn, which lets me bring back an old friend to the field. So say hello to the power of Yubel!" I shouted, a bright light coming out of my graveyard section and flowed right out onto the field.

Yubel appeared on the field, her wings spread out elegantly. She opened her eyes, and looked onwards towards Yugi, chuckling softly.

(Yubel - 0000/0000)

"Next, I activate the effect of Elemental HERO Necroshade's ability in the graveyard," I said, picking Neos out of my hand. "Since he's in my graveyard, I can now summon a high levelled monster without a sacrifice. So here comes Elemental HERO Neos!"

My white suited hero emerged in a flash of light, punching the air with a battle cry. He landed next to Yubel, crossing his arms.

(Elemental HERO Neos - 2500/2000)

"Now I play Polymerization to fuse these two together!" I said, picking my fusion card out of my hand and activating it immediately. My two monsters disappeared into a portal that formed behind them.

"Presenting to the field...Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman!" I shouted.

The fusion monster appeared on the field, having some of the looks of Yubel and Neos, and looking ready for a battle. I remembered the last time I played this monster - when I was facing Nightshroud in our final duel, and this turned out to be one of my most powerful monsters. I smiled as I looked at my monster, who looked back at me. It nodded slightly and looked back towards Yugi.

(Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman - 3000/3000)

"And to end my turn, I place two cards facedown," I placed Hero Barrier and Hero Cry facedown. "Your move, Yugi."

"An impressive start to the duel, Jaden," Yugi remarked. "I guess I should step my game up then. I draw!" He drew his six cards, and smiled at them. "First I activate the continuous spell card known as Spell Economics. This card allows me to safely play magic cards that forces me to give up Life Points. With that being said, I activate Dark Magic Veil!"

I frowned, as I looked at his new card. It was an elegant dark pink circle, with a dark blue background.

"With this card, I can summon a high level Spellcaster-Type monster to the field. Normally, it makes me give up a thousand of my Life Points, but thanks to my Spell Economics, I don't have to."

"Please don't tell me you have your ace in your hand already?" I exclaimed.

Yugi smiled, picking his third card out of his hand and raising it into the air, just as a circle of dark pink smoke appeared around him. "Thanks to the effect of Dark Magic Veil, I can summon my most ardent ally: Dark Magician!"

His most famous monster appeared from the circle, spinning in the air once before stopping to face Neos Wiseman, his green staff held tightly in his hand.

(Dark Magician - 2500/2100)

"This is awesome!" Syrus shouted in excitement, punching the air to prove his point. "Yugi's ace is really in front of us! I never thought I'd see it in action!"

"I hope Jaden knows what he's doing, because Dark Magician is not going to be easy to beat," Alexis said, looking at me in worry.

"Next, I play my Thousand Knives spell card! Thanks to the fact that I got Dark Magician on my field, I can now get rid of your Neos Wiseman with an all out shredding!"

Hundreds of knives appeared and were flung towards my Neos, but I smirked as they all smashed against my Neos and were obliterated to shards.

"What in the world?" Yugi exclaimed. "That should've destroyed your monster! How is it still there?"

"Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman can't be destroyed by any spell or trap effects," I explained. "You can try and take him out with all sorts of effects as much as you want, but none of them won't work on my monster."

All my friends were impressed by what my monster could do, as well as Yugi.

"Not bad, Jaden," he smiled. "I end my turn with a card facedown."

"Alright then, lets see what my deck has for me," I said, drawing a card from my deck. I looked and saw my O-Oversoul spell card. "I place one card facedown. Oh, and Neos? Attack his Dark Magician with Shadow Blast!"

Neos sent a ball of black and dark purple energy towards Dark Magician, and I was surprised to see that Dark Magician was actually destroyed successfully.

Jaden: 4000 LP
Yugi: 3500 LP

"I activate my facedown trap card: Magicians Rise!" Yugi cried out, revealing his trap card. "And with this card, I can now bring back Dark Magician in attack mode!"

His monster emerged back to the field, swinging his green staff and shaking his finger in a 'uh-uh' way, smirking as he did so.

(Dark Magician - 2500/2100)

"Oh yeah? Well I got news for you: Neos Wiseman's special ability," I said. "When he destroys a monster in battle, you get dealt damage equal to your monsters attack points, and then I gain Life Points equal to that destroyed monsters attack points. Since Dark Magician had twenty five hundred attack points, I gain twenty five hundred Life Points and you lose that same amount."

Jaden: 6500 LP
Yugi: 3500 LP

"What the...? Why didn't your Life Points decrease?" I demanded in confusion.

"It's thanks to my Magicians Rise trap card," Yugi explained. "As long as I have this card, as well as my Dark Magician face up on the field, I won't be taking any effect damage for the rest of this turn."

I was stunned. Neos Wiseman's ability got cancelled out? "Well at least I managed to get some points. Before I end my turn, I place a monster facedown in defence mode," I said, placing Necro Gardna facedown on my duel disk. "That ends my turn."

"Not bad, Jaden. Not bad at all." Yugi drew another card. "I activate Pot Of Greed! This lets me draw two cards from my deck, and I then activate one of them: the spell card known as Bond Between Teacher And Student! Since I have Dark Magician on my field, I can special summon from my hand or deck...Dark Magician Girl!"

His female spellcaster appeared next to his ace monster, laughing in excitement and looking. She looked at me, and smiled with recognition on her face. She blew a kiss in my direction, and I blushed though I did smile back.

(Dark Magician Girl - 2000/1700)

"Then I play my newest magic card: Dark Magical Draw!" He showed me a magic card that had the image of two cards wrapped in a dark purple aura. "This card allows me to draw cards equal to the amount of Dark Magician related cards on my field. Since there's two of them, that means I can draw two cards from my deck."

He drew his two cards, then he played another one of them. "Then I activate my Dark Magic Twin Burst spell. With this, I can raise Dark Magician's attack strength by that of Dark Magician Girl's attack points."

(Dark Magician - 4500/2100)

"Now let's see what your Elemental HERO can do against the full might of my Magicians!" Yugi shouted, pointing a finger at Neos. "Dark Magician, attack Neos Wiseman with Dark Magic Attack!"

His ace shot into the air, raising its staff as it started to form dark magical energy at its tip. Dark Magician yelled out as it shot that energy blast towards Neos. It was just about hit Neos until -

"I activate my facedown: Hero Barrier!" I screamed, revealing my spinning blade fan trap card, which then started to produce a whirling gust of wind that rippled my hair and jacket. "Thanks to this, since I have an Elemental HERO on my field, I can negate your attack!"

Dark Magician's eyes widened as the powerful gust blew right into its energy blast, smothering it out completely.

Yugi growled. "I place one card facedown, and end my turn."

"My turn! I draw!" I drew my next card and saw, to my absolute shock, that it was Super Polymerization.

This card had been a dark part of me for years now. Ever since I used this card to fuse Yubel and I together, it had proven to be my most powerful fusion card, so it held a significant importance to me. But before that, it had been the Supreme Kings card that he powered up with so many duellists duel energy. It had completely made me miserable because it cost me my friends the first time.

"It won't happen again, Jaden," my alter ego told me, appearing in his astral form next to me. "What I did was wrong. You use that cards power for good, and I know you can use it better than I did."

I hesitated, but then nodded with a small smile before looking at Yugi again. "Now Neos - attack Dark Magician Girl with Shadow Blast!"

Neos was collecting a massive ball of dark energy, and he hurled that energy towards Yugi's female Magician. But then-

"I activate my facedown: Dark Spiral Force!" Yugi roared, showing the trap card that revealed the Dark Magician blasting the screen that acted as glass. "Thanks to this, since I have Dark Magician on my field, I can double Dark Magician Girls attack strength, bringing it up to four thousand!"

(Dark Magician Girl - 4000/1700)

"Aw, no way!" I exclaimed in shock.

Neos's attack was rebuffed, and Dark Magician Girl shot a blast of pink fire at my monster, destroying it completely, and taking a thousand of my Life Points out with it.

Jaden: 5500 LP
Yugi: 3500 LP

"Since Neos Wiseman was destroyed in battle, I can activate its special ability: by removing Yubel in my graveyard from play, I can bring Elemental HERO Neos back to the field in attack mode," I said in shock.

Neos appeared back on the field, with his arms crossed over his chest.

(Elemental HERO Neos - 2500/2000)

"I end my turn."

"Then it's my turn now. I draw," Yugi drew his next card. "First I place two cards facedown, and then activate Card Of Sanctity. This lets us draw from our decks, until we're holding six of them in our hands."

I nodded, drawing five cards from my deck, and I smiled as I saw Winged Kuriboh in my hand. I looked at the four other cards in my hand: Elemental HERO Avian, Final Fusion, Fusion Recovery and Polymerization.

"I've drawn Watapon," Yugi stated, showing his fluff ball monster. "When I draw this card thanks to a card effect, I can special summon this monster to the field in defence mode."

(Watapon - 200/300)

"Now, I activate Polymerization!" Yugi shouted.

"Uh oh," I muttered.

"Now, it's time you saw another one of my most powerful monsters. I fuse together my Dark Magician and the Buster Blader in my hand, to fusion summon...Dark Paladin!"

My eyes widened. Not that monster, I thought to myself.

One of the cards in his hand shot into the air, with Dark Magician flying alongside it. They disappeared in a flash of light, and the next second later, his signature fusion monster appeared. It looked like his Dark Magician, but his armour was dark mint blue with a tinge of gold in it, and his staff had a blade at the top part of it.

(Dark Paladin - 2900/2400)

"And since Dark Magician is in my graveyard, Dark Magician Girl gains three hundred attack points," Yugi added, smiling at me.

(Dark Magician Girl - 2300/1700)

"Now, Dark Paladin - ATTACK!" Yugi roared.

Dark Paladin yelled as he sent a blast of dark electrical energy towards Neos.

"Hold it right there!" I smiled. "I reveal my trap card known as Hero Cry! With this, if I control a face-up Elemental HERO on my field, I can special summon another one from my deck to the field in defence mode, and that HERO becomes the newest target. So give it up for my newest Elemental HERO: Elemental HERO Voltic!"

My newest Hero appeared on the field. He had a purple and golden coloured body, and he had electricity running down his entire body.

(Elemental HERO Voltic - 1000/1500)

Dark Paladins attack got redirected to Voltic, obliterating it completely from the game.

"Impressive, Jaden," Yugi remarked. "You've proven that you have improved your duelling style. But don't think that I'm letting my guard down. I still have Dark Magician Girls attack, and you have that facedown monster of yours. So that one is up next!"

Dark Magician Girl blasted Necro Gardna off the field.

"Next up, I place one card facedown, and end my turn."

If I knew Yugi's strategy, one of his facedown cards was Mirror Force, so I have to find a way to destroy those cards. But then again, his Dark Paladin would negate any magic cards I might activate, except fusion cards. I smiled at that, since I had a good idea of what to do.

I looked at my deck. Deck, don't fail me now.

A drew my seventh card, and I instantly smiled. It was Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab. "I activate Polymerization! With this, I can now fuse together my Elemental HERO Neos with Elemental HERO Avian that's in my hand!"

Neos flew up into the air, along with Avians card, which resulted in a bright flash of light. As the light died down, one of my newest fusion monsters appeared in the air.

Everyone gasped at its appearance, and so did Yugi.

"Yeah, and there he is!" I smiled, punching my fist into the air. "The Elemental HERO Cyclone Neos!"

My newest Neos fusion monster looked epic as it is. It had the green feathered wings of Avian, as well as its mask, but the rest of it was the body of Neos though it did have a white feathered body, and it looked strong enough to control the flow of the winds.

(Elemental HERO Cyclone Neos - 3200/2500)

"This HERO can only be summoned when I fuse together my Neos with a Wind attribute monster, such as my Elemental HERO Avian," I explained to Yugi. "But that's nothing compared to his super charged ability: once a turn, he can wipe out all the spell and trap cards that are out on the field!"

"Oh no!" Yugi screamed. All three of his facedown cards, along with Call Of The Haunted and Spell Economics, were destroyed when Hurricane Neos spread its wings and a massive gust of wind blew them all away. And I was relieved to see that I had indeed destroyed Mirror Force, along with Mystical Refpanel and Dark Renewal. Even though it cost me my O-Oversoul card that I had facedown on my field, I was willing to sacrifice it.

There goes his way to bring his Dark Magician back, as well as taking away the card that would destroy all of my attacking monsters. "With those cards out of the way, I can activate Cyclone Neos's second ability: with every facedown card that you had that was destroyed due his ability, I get to draw that amount of cards from my deck. That would be five."

I drew my five new cards: Flute Of Summoning Kuriboh, Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin, Elemental HERO Sparkman, Elemental HERO Burstinitrix and Fifth Hope. "Now Cyclone Neos, attack his Dark Paladin with Cyclone Blast!"

Cyclone Neos drew his fist back, and thrusted it outwards towards Dark Paladin, who was blasted backwards before disintegrating in midair.

Jaden: 5500 LP
Yugi: 3200 LP

"Alright! With Dark Paladin out of the way, Jaden can safely use magic cards again!" Alexis said, impressed. "This is turning out to be incredible! Jaden really is holding his own against Yugi, even winning against him."

"Yeah, but don't count Yugi out just yet," Syrus said in worry. "He's the King of Games for a reason. He might have a strategy forming."

I listened to what Syrus said, and I immediately knew he was right. Yugi was notoriously known for that, and I knew I had to keep my guard up. But I wouldn't let that bother me for the moment.

"Next up, I activate Fusion Recovery. This let's me bring back a Polymerization and a fusion material that I used for a fusion summoning. So that means I get Elemental HERO Avian back. But then, I activate Polymerization again to fuse Elemental HERO'S Avian and Burstinitrix together to summon...Elemental HERO Flame Wingman!"

My most oldest signature monster appeared on the field, his dragon face and neck arm ready to breath out flames at any moment, and his one wing on his back fluttering in anticipation.

(Elemental HERO Flame Wingman - 2100/1200)

Yugi smiled at my HERO. "I remember that monster. You summoned it on the first turn of our first duel."

I smiled at the fact that he remembered that move. "With that, I end my turn with a two facedown cards and a monster facedown."

I placed Final Fusion, Super Polymerization and Winged Kuriboh down on the field. Hopefully, if things do turn out a little hairy, I least I had some sort of defence, plus a few offensive manoeuvres to play around with. I had Elemental HERO's Cyclone Neos and Flame Wingman out to protect me, so whatever Yugi throws at me should hopefully be defensive at the moment. Plus, I had five cards in my hand.

"My move!" Yugi announced, closing his eyes and drawing a card. He opened his eyes and looked at it, smiling as he did so.

He held the card outwards to me, it's back facing me. "Jaden, this is the key to my victory. I sacrifice Dark Magician Girl and Watapon to summon...the Dark Magician Of Chaos!"

"Oh boy," I muttered.

His two monsters vanished, only to be replaced by his most darkest spellcaster monster, looking sinister in the setting sunlight.

(Dark Magician Of Chaos - 2800/2600)

"And thanks to his ability, when he's summoned, I can bring one card back from my graveyard, such as my Pot Of Greed which I will then use to draw two cards from my deck."

He drew his two cards, smiling at them. "I will then perform an ancient Chaos summoning: I banish Watapon and Dark Magician Girl from my graveyard, to summon this: with the forces of light and darkness combined, I summon the Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning!"

"Say WHAT!" Syrus, Alexis and I exclaimed.

His legendary warrior monster appeared, looking fierce as the last time I saw it, when Dimitri (a Ra Yellow student) used it in our duel in my first year at Duel Academy. This warrior monster had his shield and sword ready, and he gave me such a harsh look.

(Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning - 3000/2500)

"Next, I equip him with my Black Pendant spell card, which gives him an additional five hundred points, making him stronger than your Cyclone Neos!"

(BLS - Envoy Of The Beginning - 3500/2500)

"This ain't gonna be good," I said, nervousness shooting up my spine.

Wait! Of course! That's exactly what I wanted him to do! I thought to myself, discreetly looking at my facedown Super Polymerization. If I can use that on my next turn, then I have a chance.

"Now, Black Luster Soldier - attack his Cyclone Neos!" Yugi shouted, pointing at my monster.

Black Luster Soldier rushed forward and slashed my winged HERO in two.

Jaden: 5300 LP
Yugi: 3200 LP

"And thanks to my monsters special ability, he can attack again when he destroys a monster. So say goodbye to your Flame Wingman!"

His monster rushed forward again, and my monster was blown to pieces, which created a shockwave that almost caused me to lose my balance. I groaned as I managed to stay upright.

Jaden: 3900 LP
Yugi: 3200 LP

"Well, that's nothing compared to what my Cyclone Neos's third effect can do!" I shouted, raising duel disk wrist up a little, where my graveyard section glowed. "You see, if you destroy him and another Elemental HERO this turn, I can bring back an old friend: like Elemental HERO Neos!"

Neos was once again brought back to the field, looking seriously pumped up and ready for action.

(Elemental HERO Neos - 2500/2000)

Yugi smiled. "You truly have got a deep connection with that monster, you know that? Well, not to dampen your mood, but now you have another face-up monster in attack mode, so he's the next target. Chaos Mage, attack his Neos!"

I smirked. "You might want to reconsider."

"Huh?" Yugi frowned.

I pointed at my facedown. "You know, I should thank you, Yugi. Because thanks to you, you helped me set up the perfect strategy this turn."

"What do you mean?" Yugi asked, his voice gaining a nervous tone to it.

"I activate my facedown spell card," I shouted, my voice turning monotone just like the Supreme Kings, and I know that my eyes must've changed into Yubel's again. "And it's known as...SUPER POLYMERIZATION!"

The spell card stood up, and the elegant design of a fusion vortex appeared, looking more powerful than any fusion card there is. Behind me, a spiralling vortex of bright yellow and blue appeared, sucking in the wind and air.

"What is that?!" Yugi yelled over the noise.

"By discarding a card in my hand to the graveyard, such as my Elemental HERO Sparkman, I can fuse one of my monsters, with any monster that you control on your side of the field!" I shouted back. "And I'm choosing to fuse my Elemental HERO Neos, with your Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning!"

"Impossible!" Yugi exclaimed with wide eyes, as his Black Luster Soldier bellowed in shock as it was sucked into the vortex, along with Neos.

"And Yugi, you may know this monster," I said, as the wind slightly died down. "After all, I used it in our duel against Paradox. So presenting back to the field...the Elemental HERO Neos Knight!"

Above me, the knight version of Neos appeared, carrying its double-bladed sword and shield tightly.

(Elemental HERO Neos Knight - 2500/1000)

"And don't forget - Neos Knight gets a supercharged power of half of Black Luster Soldiers attack strength, bringing it up to four thousand!"

(Elemental HERO Neos Knight - 4000/1000)

Yugi looked up at Neos Knight, a faint smile on his face. "I never thought I'd see that monster in battle again. Okay, I can't attack him, so I'll go for that facedown monster of yours. Chaos Mage, Chaos Sceptre Blast!"

His Magician shot a ball of dark energy towards my facedown monster, and instantly Winged Kuriboh appeared on the field, just in time to catch the blast.

"When Dark Magician Of Chaos destroys a monster in battle, instead of that monster going to the graveyard, it is instead banished from the game," Yugi explained. "And since Black Luster Soldier was sent to the graveyard with Black Pendant, you receive five hundred points of damage."

"Next, I place one card facedown, and end my turn."

"Sweet, then it's my turn!" I said, drawing a card from my deck and looking at it. I looked at it, and saw that it was one of my newest magic cards - Heroes Heart. It had the image of two block capital letters on it - EH, and surrounding them were several of my Elemental HERO monsters. I smiled, before activating it.

"I activate Heroes Heart!" I announced. "And thanks to this, for every Elemental HERO that I have in my graveyard, my opponent gets to draw the same amount of cards. And that would be nine of them, so go ahead and draw nine cards if you will."

Yugi drew his nine cards, but still he frowned. "What's the point in this, Jaden?"

I smiled. "For every card you draw, if any of them are Spell cards, I get to draw cards equal to the amount of spell cards you just drew."

"But...I just drew three of them!" Yugi said in surprise.

"And that's music to my ears!" I drew my three new cards: Hero Soul, Neo Space and Miracle Fusion. "Now I activate the field spell card known as Neo Space!"

Soon, the whole area was surrounded by the familiar rainbow coloured dome of light that I used for countless years now.

"And with every monster that has Neos in its name, it gains an additional five hundred points," I said.

(Elemental HERO Neos Knight - 4500/1000)

"At this moment, I play my facedown trap card!" Yugi shouted quickly.

"You what?" I frowned.

"I activate the trap known as High Speed Aria!" the King of Games smiled. "With this card, at the cost of not activating any spell cards on my next turn, I can discard one magic card in my hand to the graveyard, so that I can activate its effect. And the spell I'm discarding is my Card Destruction spell card!"

"Oh no!" I shouted, looking at the six cards in my hand. Flute Of Summoning Kuriboh, Flare Scarab, Aqua Dolphin, Fifth Hope, Miracle Fusion and Hero Soul...these were some really good cards, but now I had to discard them. Yugi sent the nine cards in his hand to the graveyard, and drew nine new cards, smiling slightly as he looked at them.

I drew my six new cards: Fusion Sage, E-Emergency Call, Neos Force, Space Soul, Neos Heart and Pot Of Greed.

"I'm starting to get the feeling that this duel is coming to a close," I said, feeling my nerves starting to act up. I looked up to see a smiling Yugi. "Don't you feel the same?"

"Yes, I feel it also," he agreed. "It's been a tough match so far, but you've definitely held your own against me so far.

"Then lets end this with a bang!" I said, feeling seriously pumped up and excited. "I activate Neos Heart! With this card, I can give one of my face-up 'Neos' fusion monsters an extra five hundred points, which brings Neos Knights attack strength to five thousand!"

(Elemental HERO Neos Knight - 5000/1000)

"Neos Knight, vanquish that Chaos Mage once and for all, and end this duel!" I shouted.

My monster launched itself forward, ready to collided into Yugi's monster.

"Jaden's actually going to win?!" Alexis shrieked in amazement.

"No way!" her two friends exclaimed.

"Way da' play, Jaden!" Syrus yelled in joy.

Neos Knight brought his sword downwards and destroyed the Chaos Mage, but then-

"Hey, what gives?" I frowned. "Why didn't your Life Points reach zero? That attack should've wiped your Life Points out!"

In answer, Yugi took a card out of his hand and showed me it. I looked at it and to my surprise, he actually had Kuriboh in his hand.

"I had this to protect me," he said, smiling. "When I played my Card Destruction magic card, I sent all the cards I had in my hand to the graveyard, thus allowing me to draw a new set of them, Kuriboh being one of the new cards I drew. And you know all about its effects, don't you Jaden?"

"Oh, of course," Jasmine said. "By sending Kuriboh to the graveyard, Yugi can avoid all the damage that would've been dealt to him."

I snorted. "Don't forget though: on each Battle Phase, my Neos Knight can attack twice!"

"Yes, I'm aware of that ability, but in case you haven't payed any attention, let me explain it to you," Yugi said, bringing out one of the cards in his graveyard, showing it to me. "If I banish Electromagnetic Turtle from my graveyard from play, I can cancel out that attack of yours."

I sighed. "Alright, then I activate Pot Of Greed, which lets me draw two more cards from my deck. Then, I place two cards facedown, and then end my turn. It's your move, but since you can't play any magic cards on your turn, you have no choice but to go on the defensive."

Yugi shook his head. "Think again. I activate from my graveyard, the spell known as Effect Extinguish. When a Trap card would be in effect from either the field or the graveyard, Effect Extinguish cancels out the effect until the end of the turn, simply by banishing my spell card. So with this, I can put an end to High Speed Aria's effect."

"This is insane," Alexis said. "Yugi has a move for everything thrown towards him, and matching Jaden move for move."

Yugi looked at his deck, before drawing his card, bringing his hand total up to nine cards. "I activate the spell card known as Double Spell! By discarding another spell card in my hand to the graveyard, I can select a magic card in your graveyard. So I pick your Monster Reborn, and that means I can bring back Dark Paladin!"

His fusion monster appeared back on the field, his arms crossed over his chest, and looking very stern.

(Dark Paladin - 2900/2400)

"Oh no," Alexis said in dismay. "With that monster back on the field, Jadens spell cards are useless!"

"And thanks to the fact that Curse Of Dragon is in my graveyard thanks to my Card Destruction spell card, my Magical Swordsman gains five hundred attack points."

(Dark Paladin - 3400/2400)

"Then, I activate my Magic Formula spell card! This increases my Paladins attack points by seven hundred points!"

(Dark Paladin - 4100/2400)

"I'm not done yet - I then play my third magic card: Mage Power!"

"Okay, that's bad," Alexis stated, whilst looking worried.

"With this card, my Dark Paladin receives an additional five hundred attack and defence points for every spell and trap card that I have out on my field, including itself. So that makes it an additional one thousand attack points."

(Dark Paladin - 5100/3400)

"Fifty one hundred attack points?!" Syrus exclaimed, stepping back slightly. "There's no way Jadens monster can stand against that!"

Yugi smiled. "Lets end this. Dark Paladin, ATTACK!"

"Sorry Yugi, but I don't think so!" I shouted, activating one of my facedown cards. "I activate my Space Soul trap card! By discarding two cards in my hand to the graveyard, I can therefore increase my Neos Knights attack points by one thousand points!"

(Elemental HERO Neos Knight - 6000/1000)

"I'm not sure that's enough, Jaden," Yugi said, picking a card out of his hand and quickly activating it. "I activate my quick play spell card known as Battle Fusion! This allows me to increase my Paladins attack points by the same amount of attack points as your Neos Knight!"

"Aw, no way!" I shouted in dismay.

(Dark Paladin - 11100/3400)

I smiled. "Not enough to faze me, Yugi! I activate my second facedown trap: Neos Soul! This lets me double my Neos Knights attack points if I have Elemental HERO Neos in my graveyard, and since I have, that means my monsters attack strength is now twelve thousand!"

(Elemental HERO Neos Knight - 12000/1000)

"They just won't give up!" Alexis said with wide eyes. "Neither one of them will back down!"

"You said it!" Syrus agreed. "Both players have the same determination to win, that they will keep going until the end!"

Yugi smiled as my monster began to glow with power. "You've put up a good fight, Jaden. You may have powered up your monster dramatically, but that won't stop me. I play another quick play spell card: Dark Magic Miracle!"

Another spell card appeared on his side of the field, showing the image of the Dark Magicians astral form, as it placed one hand on another monsters shoulders.

"Thanks to this, if I have Dark Magician in my graveyard, I can add its attack points to my monster! And I chose my Dark Paladin! And thanks to the effects of my Mage Power spell card, it's attack is now fourteen thousand and six hundred points, which is more than enough to take your monster out!"

(Dark Paladin - 14600/4400)

Both of our monsters rushed forwards, and their blades connected with each other, resulting in a massive shockwave that made mine and Yugi's jackets ripple from the wind.

I stood there, completely surprised. Then I smiled widely. "Yugi, you really have got game, you know that?"

Yugi frowned for a moment, but then smiled. "So have you, Jaden. I have never met someone with a duelling spirit like yours. And it's a shame that you're going to lose, though I hope you can keep duelling with the same duelling spirit as you have now."

"Well then, lets not disappoint you then," I said, opening my eyes to look at him. "Because we're not done yet!"

Yugi frowned.

"I still have one more card left to play!" I pointed at my facedown trap card. "And it happens to be one of my all time favourites. So without further a due, I play...the trap known as...FINAL FUSION!"

Everyone gasped at my trap card, which depicted two monsters battling whilst a city burned in the background.

Yugi looked shocked at my trap card for a moment, until he smiled widely. "How clever."

"When this is played, the both of us take damage equal to both of our fusion monsters combined attack points," I explained. "In other words, that's game for the both of us!"

"It sure is!" Yugi said, his eyes dancing with excitement.

Between the clashing blades of Neos Knight and Dark Paladin, who were both screaming as they strained against each other for supremacy, a pure ball of white flames appeared, surrounding the two warriors. They vanished into the light and the next thing I knew, the whole dome of Neos Space exploded by the force of the two super powered monsters, shaking the entire ground which made my friends behind me wobble and cry out in shock. I screamed and grunted as the light got too painful for me to bear. Yugi did the same, shielding his face as best as he could. The winds picked up and we were thrown backwards by the force of the explosion. I landed hard on my back with a loud guttural cry as the explosion died down.

"JADEN!" Alexis and Syrus cried out, as they rushed over to my side as I struggled to sit up. Alexis grabbed my shoulders and helped me sit up. "Are you okay?" she said with worry.

I looked over to Yugi, who with Jasmine and Mindy's help, managed to sit up as well. We both looked at each other...and to everyones surprise, we both laughed loudly.

"You still know how to duel with enthusiasm, you know that, Jaden?" Yugi chuckled as he finally managed to stand up.

I continued laughing as I stood up too, with a little help from Syrus and Alexis. "So do you apparently."

We both high-fived each other.

"That was the most epic thing I have ever seen in my life!" a new voice said behind me.

We all turned around to face the crowd of people that had appeared during the duel to witness it. To my shock, a lot of them happened to some of the new students that would be at the Academy soon. To my left, I saw Professor Crowler and some other members of the Academy staff. Then to my right, I saw Chazz and his cronies looking at me in shock. Then somewhere down the centre was Zane and Bastion looking at me with impressed looks on their faces. Everyone was cheering loudly, clapping and applauding me and Yugi.

Zane came up to me, looking me up and down before nodding respectively. "As representative at Duel Academy, I must congratulate you on this duel. And I look forward to see what you can be able to do at the Academy when you arrive. And one day, I will challenge you to a duel and see what you're truly made of.

I shook his hand. "That's a duel I look forward, Zane Truesdale."

He smiled, before walking back towards the crowd.

I looked at Yugi, both of us nodding before raising our duel disk covered wrists in the air, which made the crowd applaud even more, chanting both our names loudly.

That turned out to be the best day of my life. Not just because it was pretty much the most greatest duel I have ever had, but because I got to see my friend again, whilst all my other friends were there as well.
