Chapter 7: The History of Duel Monsters and the Advent of the Ice Barriers

The scene opens with a black background and the voice of Silver talking through the darkness.

"Alright, let's begin. *Ahem* Long ago, when the pyramids were still young, the Egyptian Kings played a game of great and terrible power. They did battle with real magic and real monsters for riches and glory. But, from these Shadow Games erupted a vicious war that threatened to destroy the entire world. Until a brave and powerful Pharaoh locked the magic of the Shadow Games away, imprisoning it for all eternity within the mystical Millennium Items."

When the darkness disappeared, it showed the four CPUS, Azure Nile, and Rachel Sato listening to the spirit of Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, explaining the origins of how Duel Monsters came to be.

Silver: "As for how the game "Duel Monsters" came to be, I believe Rachel could shed some light on that one. You don't mind, do you?"

Rachel: Sure. I can handle it. *Ahem* Like Silver said, the magic of the Shadow Games existed over five millennia ago. But nowadays, we know the game of Duel Monsters because of a man by the name of Maximilian Pegasus.

Neptune and Noire: Pegasus?

Blanc: I think I read about him in the living room, right after Noire and Neptune finished their Duel.

Vert: Right. I believe it mentioned him as the chairman of a company called "Industrial Illusions". So, I take it he's the one who invented Duel Monsters.

Azure: That's right. Pegasus fell in love with the concept, and decided to bring this 5,000 year-old game to the modern era. And I'm sure your initial reaction to the game when we first met speaks for itself.

Neptune: I'll say. I never would've thought that a card game would be so exciting.

Noire: But there's still one thing I don't understand.

Silver: "What is it?"

Noire: Well, now that we know a little bit more about Duel Monsters, and the fact that Duel Spirits are a thing, what exactly was the reason for Blanc and Vert's Duel to be interrupted.

Flashback

"NOOOOOOO!!! THIS CANNOT BE!!! BEATEN BY MERE HUMANS?!! I-IMPOSSIBLE!!!! I CANNOT LET THIS STAND!!! I... CANNOT NOT... I WILL NOT... I... I... I WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED BY YOU FILTHY, MISERABLE HUMANS... EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RRRRGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"YOU WILL PAY... YOU WILL PAY... YOU WILL PAY... YOU WILL PAY... YOU... WILL... ALL... PAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Everyone then gasped as the increasingly mad Trishula began to fire several consecutive streams of ice at everyone and everything on the field, destroying Reeze, Brionac and Gungnir without any hesitation as they all cried/roared in pain before turning into shattered chunks of ice.

Green Heart (Vert): NO! OUR MONSTERS!!

White Heart (Blanc): INCOMING!!!

"I WILL MAKE ALL OF YOU HUMANS BLEED, THEN YOU WILL ALL SUFFER A MOST PAINFUL DEATH BY MY HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DDDDIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Trishula began firing another ice attack at both White Heart and Green Heart, blasting them both back into a fence, with the force being so strong that Vert and Blanc were forced out of their HDD Forms and knocked both of them unconscious.

Flashback End

Azure: Oh yeah... That...

Needless to say, Azure scratched the back of his head with a not so serious expression on his face.

Azure: Well, uhh... How exactly do I put this...? Hmm...

Rachel: Well, How about you...

The red-haired girl then whispered into Azure's ear on how exactly he should handle this situation.

Azure: Are you sure?

Rachel: As a heart attack. C'mon, what's the worst that could happen.

Azure looked at his friend, who had a "surprising" serious look on her face. After a bit of contemplation, Azure finally let out a small sigh and made his decision.

Azure: Oh, alright. I'll see what I can do.

Rachel: Great. Just know that I'm right here for you.

Azure smiled and gave Rachel a fist bump.

Azure: Thanks, Ray. Hey, uhh... Blanc?

Blanc: Hmm?

Azure: This may sound a bit strange, but may I borrow your deck? Don't worry, I'll give it back.

Blanc looked at him with her signature neutral stare, before she silently nodded and handed over her deck to Azure.

Blanc: Here.

Azure: Oh, thanks.

After looking through Blanc's cards, Azure finally came across two of the cards he was looking for. He then pulled out two cards from the deck and revealed it to everyone that was present.

Noire: Wait... those cards are-!

Azure: That's right. I figured the best way to explain what happened is to talk from the source itself.

The two cards that Azure revealed to everyone each had a silver border that featured an image of two monsters that looked familiar to them. They were the same dragons that Blanc used in her duel with Vert.

Then, after he returned Blanc's deck back to her, he proceeded to close both his eyes whilst he was holding the two cards he picked out of Blanc's deck. Azure then opened his eyes, with the right eye glowing a bright blue color, which then affected the cards he was holding, as they began to glow a matching bright blue color.

Azure: Gungnir... Brionac... Awaken!

Azure then raised his hand up into the sky, with the cards still in his hand. Then, in a blinding flash of light, something rather interesting happened.

When the light dissipated, there were two individuals that suddenly appeared.

The first one was a tall, muscular pale-skinned man who had amber-yellow eyes and white hair which was raised and pointed upwards behind his head. It also featured two locks in front of his ears turning through ninety degrees and pointing forward. He wore a dark blue tank top, light gray gloves, dark blue jeans and light gray boots.

As for the second one, he was another pale-skinned young man, who had orange-red eyes and spiky white hair with a blue and orange tint. His attire is mostly covering, composed of a dark blue jacket accent in orange on the torso and several straps and accents of silver. The coat tails have dull blue coloring on the inside, while his sleeve cuffs are rolled up to reveal white coloring and black lining. He wears a pair of denim pants with a single strap hanging from each hip, and around his neck is an indigo cloth held with an ornament.

One thing that the two individuals shared was that they were both transparent as they were also floating above the ground, much like the spirit of Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon.

Gungnir: "What the? Where are we?"

Brionac: "I don't know. But for some ready, this place looks familiar."

*Whistle*

Just then, the two spirits heard the sound of someone whistling, which made them both turn around to see Azure, who looked at the two spirits with a confident smile on his face.

Azure: Yo, guys! It's been a while.

Gungnir: "What the? It's you! You're Azure Nile, the duelist with the Silver Dragon!"

Brionac: "Huh? Azure Nile?! I got a bone to pick with him!"

Azure: Woah-oh-oh-oh, easy there, Brionac, you're still on about that? I mean, c'mon, it's been years.

Silver: "Yeah, I agree. You really need to learn how to let things go."

Azure: Right?!

Azure and Silver then high-fived each other, right in front of the two spirits. This only made Gungnir sigh in annoyance.

Gungnir: "What the hell do you two want with us, anyway?"

Silver: "Ooh, yeah, uhh... funny you should mention that. Umm... For starters, there's something we need to ask you both to do, if that makes any sense."

Gungnir: "... Like what?"

Azure: Well, uhh... You see...

Then, both Azure and Silver pointed to the left, which made the two spirits turn their heads to the direction of where the CPUs were standing, as they looked on in confusion.

Neptune: Woah, talk about an interesting character introduction.

Noire: I... am at a loss for words.

Vert: It is quite an interesting sight.

Both of the spirits of the dragons looked at the girls with very confused looks on their faces, with Azure, Silver, and even Rachel looking at them with smug smirks.

Gungnir: "You better explain yourself. Right now."

Rachel: Well, I believe that introductions are in order. Gungnir, Brionac, meet the CPUs. CPUs, meet Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier and Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier.

Brionac: "CCU? What kinda name is that? Somethin' that ya eat?"

Gungnir: "It's "CPU", not "CCU", you muscle-head."

Neptune: Hey there, how's it going? I'm Neptune, the CPU of a lil' nation called Planeptune!

Noire: I'm Noire, the CPU of Lastation.

Vert: My name is Vert, the CPU of Leanbox. It's a pleasure to meet you.

While the two dragons looked at the three, their eyes were admittedly drawn to the petite girl with the brown hair and the blue eyes, as she approached the both of them with a small blush appearing on her face.

Blanc: Umm, uhh... My name is Blanc. I'm the CPU of Lowee. Nice to meet you two.

After introducing herself, Blanc bowed to the two of them, which nearly caught them off guard.

Gungnir: "Umm... Hello. Nice to meet you."

Just as Gungnir extended his arm to shake Blanc's hand, the two of them were left surprised by the fact that they could actually touch each other's hand, despite the fact that Gungnir was transparent like a ghost.

Everyone else (minus Azure, Silver, and Rachel) were also left in shock as Blanc could actually "touch" the spirit like he was actually there.

Blanc: *Gasp*

Gungnir: "N-No way! You made a connection with me?!"

Brionac suddenly got in between them and looked at Blanc, before he touched Blanc's hand and was also shocked that he too could touch her.

Brionac: "No way! Ya mean she's... She's..."

Azure: That's right. Now that we know Blanc has made the connection, we can get on with the reason I woke you both up.

Noire, Neptune, and Vert were a bit surprised by Azure saying that Blanc "made the connection" with the two spirits. In order to help speed things along, Rachel and Silver whispered into the girl's ear, explaining to them how, much like Azure with his best monster, Blanc seemingly managed to make both Ice Barrier Dragons her "Spirit Partners".

Vert: Oh my. That is quite surprising.

Neptune: Uh-huh. The fact that she has two Duel Spirits sure is something.

Noire: Not just her, but look at Brionac and Gungnir. I bet even they didn't see this coming.

Rachel: Yeah, it's a bit shocking for first-timers.

Silver: "You can say that again."

After they listened in on the conversation, Gungnir and Brionac looked at each other, then back at Blanc, who just stared at the two with a neutral stare.

Blanc: Umm... So...

Gungnir: "Uhh... Yeah... Well, uh... Nice to... have you, uh... Blanc, was it?"

Blanc: ... Y-Yes. I hope we get along.

Then, almost out of nowhere, Brionac gave Blanc a great, big bear-hug, which made her look a little flustered.

Blanc: What the?!

Brionac: "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Blanc: Umm, your... welcome? But, why are you hugging me?!

Brionac: "For making me your Spirit Partner! Thank you so much! I promise, I won't let ya down, Blank!"

Blanc: Umm, okay. But first, can you please put me down already?!

Unfortunately, Blanc's words fell on deaf ears as Brionac continued to hug her. This eventually made the petite, brown-haired girl more and more annoyed, as she had a dark shadow over her eyes.

Everyone: Uh oh.

Blanc then clenched her hand into a fist, as she began raising her fist above Brionac's head.

Blanc: I SAID PUT ME DOWN ALREADY, DAMN IT!!!

Blanc's face was now shadowed at the eyes with a glowing red left eye and her teeth were fanged. This was commonly known to be Blanc's signature look whenever she got extremely pissed off.

*Bam*

Everyone else cringed at the sight of an enraged Blanc bashing her fist into Brionac's skull, as he was now lying on the ground, with a large bum on his head, and he also had swirly eyes.

Gungnir just had a sweat drop on his face, as he just got an up-close look at what happens whenever his new "Duelist Partner" gets mad.

Gungnir: "... So... Uhh... Are you... Okay, Blanc?"

Blanc then turned around to face Gungnir, and she quickly regained her composure and spoke to him in a calm and soft tone of voice.

Blanc: I'm fine. Thanks for your concern.

Gungnir: "Uh, sure. Just don't mind Brionac, he's just a bit excited, that's all. Kind of like a puppy dog who's excited to go for a ride in the car or like a child who wants to go to the toy store."

Blanc: Yeah, I think I understand where you're coming from. Back home, I have two little sisters who I love very much, but sometimes they both tend to drive me up the wall.

Gungnir: "Oh, you have sisters. That's nice."

Brionac then got back on his metaphorical "feet" and groaned as he rubbed his head where the bump was.

Brionac: "Ugh... Ow... That really smarts."

Gungnir: "Hmph. Serves you right. Just be sure to be on your best behavior when we're with our duelist. Do I make myself clear?"

Brionac: "Oh, uhh.... Yeah, okay."

Azure then let out a fake cough sound, which caught everyone's attention.

Azure: Okay, everyone. If we're done with... whatever "that" was, perhaps we can finally discuss the whole "three-headed ice dragon" in the room?

After hearing what Azure said, Brionac, Gungnir, and everyone else instantly remembered what he was talking about.

Gungnir: "Oh... ****!!!"

Brionac: "You wanna know about "him"? Why?"

Neptune: Apparently, when he showed up during Blanc and Vert's Duel, he started screaming and yelling in everyone's ear.

Vert: Not only that, but he also caused quite a lot of damage as well.

Noire: And to make matters worse, he almost gave us hypothermia!

Blanc: ... If you two wouldn't mind, would you please tell us about Trishula, and more importantly, why he seems to hate "humans"?

The two monster spirits looked at each other with serious looks on their faces, then back at the CPUs, who were anxious to know the truth about what happened earlier today.

After a bit of contemplation, Gungnir finally conceded with a huge sigh.

Gungnir: *Sigh* "Alright. I suppose Brionac and I can fill you guys in on our history. But I'll warn you, it's... not exactly what you would call, "a story for the fate of heart", if that makes any sense.

Blanc: Thank you.

Gungnir: "Ehh, don't worry about it. But out here isn't a good place to tell this story."

Silver: "Alright, everyone. Let's head back inside."

Everyone nodded as they all went back inside of Azure's house.

As soon as everyone went back inside the house, they were all sitting in the living room. In order to help everyone get comfortable, Azure and Rachel went ahead and prepared several snacks like popcorn, sandwiches, and bottles of water for everybody, as they knew that this was going to be a LONG story.

Azure: Okay, is everyone ready?

Everybody else nodded.

Azure: Alright. Oh wait, I almost forgot.

Azure reached out to his back pocket and pulled out a single card. After looking at the card with a stoic expression, he turned his attention to Blanc.

Azure: Hey, Blanc. Catch!

In a rather questionable moment, Azure tossed the card that was in his hand directly to Blanc, who quickly caught it out of the air and into her hand. As soon as she got a good look at the card, she was left speechless as she immediately recognized the design of the monster on the card.

Blanc: What? Why-

Azure: Trust me... I don't like it anymore than you do, but... that card belongs to you and you alone. So... I figured I'd give it back to you.

Blanc was a bit unsure about Azure's decision, but she understood and silently nodded before placing the card back into her deck.

Gungnir: "Alright... Here goes. First, allow me to start... at the very beginning... as this story is about war, hatred, and above all... betrayal..."

"Long, long ago... There were three powerful dragons that once rampaged at the top of snowy mountains. Then, one day, a man wearing a blue robe appeared. This man, who would eventually become the "Founder" of the Ice Barrier tribe, was able to successfully seal these three icy creatures using a very special mirror and was able to keep them at bay. This act in question actually allowed the man's spirit to, for a lack of a better term, transcend his human flesh, becoming something far more powerful in the process. The man became an ethereal guardian or "watch keeper" for the three dragons."

After Gungnir explained the "Prologue" to the story, the rest of the CPUs were all left fascinated.

Neptune: Woah, talk about a way to start a story!

Noire: So, I take it these "powerful dragons" that were sealed away were you guys?

Brionac: "That's right. It was me, Gung, and Trishula who were up on that mountain causing trouble."

Vert: This must've been quite a rather unfortunate turn of events for the three of you. Being sealed away like that out of the blue...

Gungnir: "Ugh... Don't even get me started again... But, let's just say that being sealed by that old fart was the least of our worries."

Blanc: What happened...?

Gungnir sighed, before getting back to the story.

"Long ago, there once existed four different tribes, all of which were caught in a perpetual cycle of war with one another. The tribes that were fighting in this war consisted of:

The Flamvell, who resided in the nation of Fire.

The X-Sabers, who lived in the domain of the Earth.

The Mist Valley, who resided in the land of Wind.

And finally, there was the tribe known as the Ice Barriers, who existed in the providence of Water.

"Each of these four tribes would engage in conflict with each other for many, many decades. Their reason for all this fighting? A simple means to an end. A way to expand their own territory. However, neither one of these four tribes could seem to take the upper hand. In other words, they were all in a constant stalemate with one another."

"Unfortunately, everything would forever change as "they" appeared..."

Noire: Wait... "They"? Who... or what are you talking about?

Before Gungnir or Brionac could speak up, it was Azure, Rachel and Silver who decided to drop the "metaphorical" bombshell of information onto everyone in the room.

Azure and Rachel: The "Worms"...

Everyone: Worms?

Silver: "An invasive species that came from beyond the stars, that would latch onto passing asteroids and meteorites and would lie in wait until they collided with a hospitable planet. Upon making contact with the planet, these creatures would begin to mutate and evolve to fit their new environment."

Some of the goddesses gasped at this piece of information.

Blanc and Vert: An invasive species... from beyond the stars...

Neptune: Wait, so these worm thingies are like aliens?

Azure: Yep, that's right. Even in the Spirit World, there's still the possibility of aliens out in the farthest region of space. However, these creatures are not exactly what you would call... "friendly".

Blanc: How so?

Rachel: As soon as these creatures have gotten accustomed to the planet they landed on, they begin to multiply and expand at an exponential rate.

Silver: "Not only that, but they also are of a hive mind with only one goal."

Neptune and Noire: What goal?

Azure: Their mission... to consume every last resource on the planet that they invade, and then move on to another planet to continue the process over and over and over and over and over again.

The four girls gasped in shock at the thought of these alien creatures consuming an entire planet of its resources, leaving it dry and barren, and then moving on to another planet to do it again.

Vert: That's horrible.

Noire: I can't believe it!

Neptune: These worm guys definitely sound like trouble.

Blanc: The fact that they could potentially destroy an entire planet definitely isn't something I want to see happen.

Brionac: "Tell me about it! They make me sick with their slanted mouths, and their slimy bodies."

"This new threat was... suffocating, to say the least, and seemed nearly impossible to beat, mostly due to how fast they were able to replicate. Though reluctant, the four respective tribes were forced to band together to fend off these invaders.

The Flamvells, using their natural affinities to manipulate fire, began scorching the aliens away.

The X-Sabers, being the perfect warriors, met them head-on in the battlefield.

The Mist Valleys, with the power of aerokinesis, would blow them away.

However, it was the Ice Barrier tribe that threw the biggest punches against these creatures, as they decided to unleash one of the sealed ice dragons that they worshiped and dedicated their very lives to keeping at bay. Believing that they could harness the power of the first dragon, known as "Brionac", they chose to unleash the beast onto the worms."

Blanc: So, they released you first, Brionac?

Brionac enthusiastically nodded as he felt proud, knowing that he was one of the "big guns" of the Ice Barrier Dragons.

Noire: Now that I think about it... Blanc, was Brionac the first dragon you Synchro Summoned during your duel?

Blanc: Yes, he was.

Neptune: Well, what a lucky coincidence that would be.

Azure, Rachel, Silver, and Vert: (Somehow I doubt that...)

"Brionac's chilling aura pushed the invaders back into a corner and almost wiped them all out. That is, until they quickly realized that the worms had a very special power, something that made them extremely effective at what they do. Whenever a worm is exposed to a situation that could potentially lead to their extinction, they begin to rapidly evolve like a parasite, allowing themselves to adapt into an even more formidable form. The horrors that these worms unleashed from that day was unspeakable... countless tribes were slaughtered in a landslide of bio-organic horror. The tribes that were still alive and well gathered together and held a conference. They quickly realized that they could not oppose the threats of the worms by themselves, and decided to join forces and confront these parasites in an all-out attack. And from this alliance, they were known as "The Allies of Justice".

All of the CPUs felt sympathy for all the lives that were lost, but also joy knowing that the four tribes decided to put aside their differences to defeat the invaders that were threatening their home planet, as they had done so themselves back home countless times.

"The Allies of Justice would bring together the best of each of their technologies and magics to create powerful anti-worm weapons, with the first of these to be developed was the prototype 'A.S.D" (Ally of Justice Destroyer) weapon. The group would then create a weapon called the "Ally Mine" to power the machine. It had been loaded with elements that were collected from the meteors that the worms had originated from, and as such, it made the machines highly tuned in terms of its performance to eradicate any/all worm-like entities. One field test with the core occurred, and after seeing its capabilities, they continued to develop these weapons even further into the "Ally of Justice Catastro".

As soon as Catastro was deployed onto the battlefield, the results were immediate. It tore through countless waves of the worms, decimating everything in its path, not allowing them even a chance to evolve. Overtime, more justices were developed and used to wage war, however there were simply not enough of them to end the invasion. The worms were beginning to spread even further across the continent, spilling into the forest of a race called the "Naturia", the lands of the "Girac", the "Genex", and even the "Fables". With more and more soldiers continuing to be slaughtered, the Ice Barriers, hesitantly of course, decided to release the second of their sealed ice dragons. The dragon, which was dubbed "Gungnir".

Fascinated by the rest of the story, the CPUs stared at Gungnir with looks of awe.

Vert: So, I take it that by releasing you as well, the Allies of Justice would have a fighting chance?

Gungnir: "That's right. The humans realized that their little toys, nor Brionac, was going to be enough against those damn parasitic worms, so I was freed from that prison as well."

Rachel: And it's probably a good reason you were released before "you-know-who".

Gungnir said nothing, but nodded in agreement.

"The power that I possessed was a sight to behold, as my breath of ice froze hundreds, if not thousands of the worms in their tracks, allowing the Allies of Justice to shatter the frozen worms into thousands of pieces. Now, this event had indeed slowed down the spread of the alien threat significantly, but unfortunately, it was again not enough to call off the invaders. The tribes began to sense that the final battle against the worms was fast approaching, and so they began construction on an ultimate weapon. Their suspicions proved to be correct, as the sky suddenly began to rip apart. And what came out from the cracked sky was something that the denizens of the human world could not begin to fathom or comprehend.

Noire: What? What was it?

Neptune: Was it a massive worm? Perhaps a more dangerous monster?

Vert: I'm pretty sure we can figure out what exactly is coming next.

Blanc: Me too. Gungnir, please continue.

"What appeared was an entire hive mind of worms. It was the amalgamation that looked almost like the very moon itself, as it slowly descended upon the planet. They called it "Worm - Z.E.R.O.". The massive creature, as it approached the source of the planet, began absorbing all of the other worms into itself, growing stronger and stronger as each second passed, killing and devouring ANYTHING that so much as moved before it. In a panic, the tribes immediately revealed their trump card: the "A.J.D.A" (Ally of Justice Decisive Armor). With the collective power of all those who had made it, the weapon fired in the heart of the Worm - Z.E.R.O., with its supreme anti-worm technology embedded in its very core, it was actually able to rip a hole straight through Worm - Z.E.R.O., which slowly began to spread, disintegrating every last molecule of every last worm that made up its very being.

... The war was now over... The tribes exhausted and diminished from the mumps of war let out a heavy breath of relief...

After hearing of that, the reactions that the CPUs had were all very positive, to say the least.

Neptune: Woo-hoo! Aw yeah, that's what I'm talking about!

Noire: They did it... They actually did it.

Blanc: They won. I'm glad it's all over.

Vert: Indeed. Although, it cannot be said for all the lives that were lost during the conflict. Those people will forever have my condolences.

Silver: "... I wouldn't celebrate just yet, you guys."

Everyone (with the exception of Rachel, Gungnir, Brionac, and Azure) turned their attention to Silver, who had a slightly irritated look on his face.

Neptune: Say wha?! what? You mean we're not done?

Azure: He's right, Neptune. As a matter of fact, this story hasn't even begun...

Noire: What are you saying?

Rachel: Sure, the whole alien invasion may be over, but there's one final thing that needs to be discussed. Blanny, do you mind showing "that" card?

Blanc said nothing and pulled out a single card from her deck and revealed it to everyone in the room.

Vert: T-That's right! Only Brionac and Gungnir were released from the seal!

Noire: Which means the last one was-!!

Blanc: ... "Him"...

"Even though the worm invasion was over, this victory would not last for very long. For you see, the Fabled, who had been patiently hiding and waiting for the right opportunity decided to make their move. They began attacking the other tribes, while they were all vulnerable and broken. Their victory was almost assured and it would appear that the Fabled would be the clan that would achieve world conquest. That is, until the Ice Barriers with what little strength they had left, decided on a final play. They would break the seal to the most powerful and most destructive force known to man itself. The final sealed ice dragon, known as "Trishula".

As soon as they heard his name, everyone in the room felt a massive chill running down each of their spines, as they all clearly remembered what that monster had done earlier today.

"Blinded by nothing but hatred and without any thought for consequences, the Ice Barriers unleashed Trishula upon the Fabled. The results were, to put it lightly, "better" than they could even have imagined. A creeping ice crept across the battlefield, emanating from the three-headed dragon itself, flash-freezing EVERYTHING in its path. The Fabled stood little to no chance against the barrage of ice. However, even though they were defeated, the ice continued to spread more and more. Victory may have been achieved, yet the dragon continued to rampage.

Plants began to die, lakes started to freeze over, and even worse, the very people that the Ice Barriers had tried to save were freezing to death in their own homes.

A woman, who acted as a "Medium", attempted to seal Trishula away once again in an artifact called the "Mirror of the Ice Barriers", however this time, it was unsuccessful. And so, with seemingly no way to stop the three-headed behemoth, the realization of what they had done finally began to set in.

The Ice Barriers had effectively doomed the world to suffer an eternal ice age, that is however, until the "Founder" of the Ice Barrier, in his ethereal form appeared. Now, the sacred spirit of the Ice Barrier, he had been watching over the dragon seal for generations, waiting for a time where all three of the dragons had been released before he would appear. He used a sacred sealing technique at the cost of his very own being, to successfully seal all three dragons once again.

The eternal winter... had finally been stopped...

After finishing the long, intense story of what happened many years ago, the CPUs all could not shake this perpetual cycle of emotions that accumulated from listening to this tale.

Brionac: "Well, now ya know! That's the story of us Ice Barriers."

Gungnir: "To be honest with you all, it was NOT a pleasant experience to have to go through that again. But, I hope that gives you guys a clear understanding of what happened to us."

Silver: "Hmph! I'll say. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to tell them everything."

Gungnir: "It's nothing. Besides, I highly doubt that "he" would want to say anything to a bunch of "lowly, disgusting humans".

Rachel: Tch! Still acting like a big shot, is he? Not gonna lie, that attitude kinda pisses me off.

Azure: You, me, and the rest of the universe.

Brionac: "So, now that we explained ourselves, I think me and Gung are gonna scram, if ya know what I mean. Tonight's taco night, and I'm starvin! So, see ya!"

Brionac's spirit then disappeared, leaving only Gungnir with the group.

Gungnir: "Well, I'll be sure to see you two later."

Azure and Rachel: Sure/No problem.

Gungnir nodded, before he disappeared as well, leaving only Azure, Rachel and Silver, who were all still in shock over the story of the Ice Barriers.

Rachel: Well, this just got a whole lot more interesting.

Silver: "So, what happens now?"

Azure merely looked on at the four goddesses, with Blanc looking down at the card of the monster that she found out once nearly froze over the entire world in her hand.

Elsewhere

*Drip*

In a rather peculiar location, there was a massive set of jail-like bars that were completely sealed off, all inside of a massive room with dark blue walls and a thin layer of water on the floor. What appeared behind the bars was a massive, bipedal dragon with a distinct feature of possessing three heads on long necks with orange eyes and an orange gem on each of its foreheads. Its scales are made of blue ice, some of which are white while others are navy. It has two large wings used mainly for keeping balance and pouncing. It also has four clawed limbs: two which serve as its arms and two which serve as legs.

The dragon in question was Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, as it laid on the ground, each of its heads letting out small breathing noises, as their eyes were all closed, which was an indicator that the monster was fast asleep. However, the middle head began opening one of his eyes as the screen quickly fades to black, but not before letting out one final, soul-wrenching screech.
