As the monsters faded, I look towards some toppled crates.
"You can come out, now."
Nothing moves for a few minutes, but then several people wearing suits came out.
"I'm guessing you're with LDS?" I asked. This shocked them, but they nod. The tallest steps forward.
"Would you willingly come with us... Both of you?"
I nod, but Shiro seemed a little apprehensive. I look at her and gesture that it's okay. She seemed to acknowledge my gesture as we start following them.
At LDS Tower
As we left the elevator, I noticed that we entered a vast room. The window was also huge. At a desk, which sat just a few feet away from the window, there was a man, who wore glasses and a red scarf. It was none other than Reggie Akaba.
"So, you are the one who took out Panik?" Asked Reggie. I was stunned he knew Panik, but I hid my surprise very well.
"Yeah. He was a pushover, like a bunch of other Academia grunts. Which brings me to a question...." I turn to Shiro. "Why did you help me?"
Shiro seemed to look down, like she didn't want to go and answer right away. I understood and let it drop. I turn back to Reggie.
"So what do you want, Reggie Akaba? I'm guessing you're preparing for an attack on your father." I say, stunning everyone, except Reggie, who simply pushes his glasses up.
"How did he know?" Whispers a stunned Nakijima.
"I see you already know part of my plan. However, you must know I can't allow you to walk around the city freely." Reggie stated. I raise an eyebrow, sensing he has more to say.
"So.... What's the catch?"
Reggie smiled, which usually makes me uncomfortable.
"I want you to watch someone for me. You see, a new Summoning method has appeared. It's called-"
"Pendulum, yeah? I seen the Duel on your big screens. Who was the guy who won?"

Five days later....
I walk out of LDS Tower's front entrance, my newly acquired standard duel disk attached to my arm. I felt bad leaving Shiro behind, but I understood Reji's intentions. He didn't want anyone from the Fusion Dimension to cause trouble, even though I knew she wouldn't.
Suddenly, I turn a corner and run into someone.
"Woah!" I yell as I fall onto my butt. I then hear a familiar voice.
"Yuya! You should slow down! You might have hurt this guy!"
I look up and see Yuzu. I wave my hands to get her attention.
"Hey, I'm fine. Nothing broke, at least." I say as I looked from her to Yuya. I then pretend to be shocked.
"Hey, your the kid with the new Summoning method, right?"
Yuya looks at me, smiling.
"Yep, I'm Yuya. Yuya Sakaki." He extends his hand and helps me up to my feet.
"I'm John.... Yusaku. I'm a fan of yours." I lie about my name. Reji told me to not say my actual name, due to the dimensional war. Yuya sighs when I say this. Guess he's met Sora by now.
"That's awesome! I'm just curious, but would you be interested in joining our Duel School?" Asked Yuzu. I smile and nod.
"Of course! I am also a fan of Yusho Sakaki, after all." I say, making Yuya's mouth drop.
"You're also a fan of my dad?"
I smile and nod.
"Of course. He started Entertainment Dueling, after all."
Yuya smiles a small smile. I could tell he was feeling down, still. I figure it was because he isn't the only one who can perform a pendulum summon, so I put a hand on his shoulder.
"How about you show me to the Duel School?" I ask, since I wasn't familiar with the area. Yuzu was about to say something, but Yuya beats her to it.
"Of course! But shouldn't we go to school first? I mean, your our age. Do you have a uniform?"
"No, I actually already graduated. I'm just wanting a chance to go pro now in dueling." I smile and scratch my head, not seeing Yuya and Yuzu topple over anime style. They quickly recover, though.
"So, I guess I can get a ride from my dad if I take you." Replies Yuzu. I smile and nod.

At YouShow Duel School...
"OOOOH HOT BLOODED! THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING YOUSHOW DUEL- ACK!" Shuzo fell on the ground, a huge bump on his head where Yuzu hit him with her paper fan. She puffed her cheeks, clearly agitated.
"How many times will you overreact like that when someone comes to sign up?"
Shuzo get up quickly, rubbing the back of his head, blushing a bit.
"Sorry, Yuzu. It's just we are getting more students that is making me excited." I chuckle at his goofy acting. Suddenly, I hear the door open, revealing Sora coming in. As he seen me, I could tell he was shocked, but he recovered before Shuzo and Yuzu noticed.
"What's the excitement going on here? It sounds like you said new student, principle?" Shuzo simply nods.
"Yes. Sora, this is John Yusaku. He just came to Miamai City and wants to do entertainment style dueling. John, this is Sora Shu'nin. He uses Fusion Summoning."
I nod, forcing a smile, like Sora.
"Pleasure to meet you, Sora." I extend my hand. He hesitated, but takes my hand, trying not to look angry about having to shake hands with me.
"So, you better get to school, Yuzu. I'll just relax here." I said. Yuzu nods and starts dragging her dad out, who wanted to talk more rather than take her to school. After they leave, I notice Sora look me over.
"Uh, what's up?" I act like I was confused.
"Oh nothing. Just curious.... What type of deck do you use?"
I smile and pull out my secondary deck I made, thanks to Reji.
"I use a special kind of archtype called Gravekeeper's. Why do you ask?" Sora looks at me, confused. I didn't want to reveal my true deck, otherwise I'd endanger the school and dimension, due to the bounty on my head.
"Never heard of that type of deck." He stopped looking me over, but I felt he didn't believe me completely.

5 hours later....
I yawn loudly. I was thinking of seeing if Sora would like to duel, when suddenly I hear the front door open. I go and see the three kids that are also students to YouShow Duel School. Ayu notices me, and waves.
"Hi! I guess you are the guy Big Bro Yuya ran into?" Ayu says smiling.
"Yeah. I'm John Yusaku." I said. Ayu smiles and nods.
"I'm Ayu, the bluenett boy is Tatsuya, and Futoshi is the kid in overalls."
Tatsuya looks at me and waves, while Futoshi jumps up saying 'shivers.'
Soon after, Yuya and Yuzu come in.
"Hey John. Sorry for almost running you over this morning." Yuya scratches the back of his head. I simply chuckle.
"It's fine, Yuya. Happens all the time. So, want to duel? I want to see how good you are." I smile and pull out my Duel disk.
"What a splendid idea! That way we can see how hot blo- Ack!" Shuzo didn't get to finish as he is hit in the head by Yuzu's paper fan.
"Don't even say what you are going to say. I have a big enough headache."
I chuckle and sweatdrop, now never wanting to be on Yuzu's bad side. I turn to Yuya, smiling.
"You feel up for it?"
Yuya simply smirks, a glint of excitement in his eyes.
"You bet, John."

In the solid vision arena
I look around, feeling the room being more spacious than it looked in the show.
"Any field preference, John?" asked Shuzo, clearly eager to see me and Yuya duel.
"Probably something ancient if possible."
As I said that, he pulls up a certain field.
"Okay. Action Field, ON! Ruins of Ra!"
As he declared the name, the field started taking form, resembling the ruins of an ancient city from Egypt. I simply smile at how it fits my current deck. Yuya then starts the Action Duel chant.
"Duelist locked in battle..."
I smile and start as well.
"Kicking the Earth and dancing with their monsters..."
Tatsuya and the other children:
"They storm through this field!"
Yuzu and Sora: "Behold, the latest evolution in Dueling!"
Shuzo: "ACTION...."
Yuya and me: "DUEL!"
"I'll start if that's fine with you, Yuya. I set a monster and two facedowns. That concludes my turn."
Yuya looks at me, slightly shocked. I couldn't wait to see his face when he attacked my facedown, which was Gravekeeper's Spy.
"I draw then." Yuya then looks through his hand and smirks.
"With the scale 1 Stargazer Magician and scale 8 Timegazer Magician, I set the pendulum scale!"
As he played the two cards, Stargazer and Timegazer rise up, a number 1 and 8 appearing below them. I had an idea what was coming.
"Swing, pendulum of souls! Swing an arc across the ether. Pendulum Summon! Appear my partner, level 7, the heroic dragon with dichromatic eyes, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
A single light shoots down, and takes form of the iconic dragon. Too bad he won't be attacking.
"I activate my trap!" I lift a hand over my left facedown. It lifts up and revealed a monster roaring at an opponent, stopping it in it's tracks. "Threatening Roar prevents you from entering your battle phase this turn."
Yuya looks at me, surprised. The kids were even shocked.
"I have never heard of such a card." Yuzu gasped. Tatsuya looks more amazed then shocked.
"I've heard of that card, but never seen it in real life!" Tatsuya yells in excitement. Everyone looks at Tatsuya, then back to the duel, getting pumped up as well. Yuya starts smiling as well.
"Well, guess we have to wait, Odd Eyes. I end my turn with two facedowns of my own." He sets the cards then jumps on to Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon's back, running around the ruins looking for action cards.
"Draw!" I look at my card and smile. "I'm going to flip summon Gravekeeper's Spy, then activate her effect." As I declared this, everyone looks at Tatsuya.
"Gravekeeper's? What type of card is that?" Ayu looks confused. All Tatsuya does is shrug.
"When she is flipped up, I special summon one Gravekeeper's monster from my deck, as long as it has 1500 or less attack. I'll choose my 200 attack power level 3 tuner Gravekeeper's Balance." I smirk as everyone gasped again.
"A tuner? Then that means..." Ayu started.
"He's going to synchro summon!?" Yells Tatsuya.
"This Duel is already giving me shivers!" Futoshi yells, shaking in excitement (I think).
"I tune my level 4 Spy with my level 3 Balance! Deity of the ancients, rise from the Hades you call your home and show your power over the darkness. Synchro summon! Rise, level 7, Gravekeeper's Deity: Anubis!"
Balance jumps up into the sun, turning into three synchro rings, which Spy flies in, becoming incased in a beam of light, which shoots into the ground. After a short while, the ground shakes, causing Odd Eyes to trip and Yuya flies off its back, landing in a pile of sand. After he gets his head out, a giant fissure opens and a jackal rises up, adorned in gold jewels and purple clothe. Everyone looks on, shocked to see how huge my monster was.
Gravekeeper's Deity: Anubis

"W-what a HUGE monster!" Yuzu stutters. Ayu, however, looks at Anubis with cute eyes.
"It's a doggie!" Ayu screamed. This causes me and Anubis to sweat drop.
"Actually, Ayu, I think it's a jackal." Tatsuya replies. Ayu then makes a pouting face.
"Yes, Mister Accurate."
Everyone chuckled at Ayu's nickname for Tatsuya, causing him to blush a little.
"Okay," I exclaim, "let's continue the duel. Anubis' effect activates when summoned successfully! You cannot activate any spells from the hand until the end of my turn. Now Action Spells cannot help you, Yuya!" Everyone gasped.
"A monster meant to prevents Action Spells!? I never knew of such a card!" Shouts Tatsuya.
"Now, since I haven't normal summoned yet, I summon Gravekeeper's Curse!" As I place my card, a dark mist rises and out of it came the crooked looking priest. "When summoned, he inflicts 500 damage to your life points. Cursed Incantation!"
Gravekeeper's Curse starts chanting, creating a dark fog to surround Yuya and cause him to cough.
"Battle! Anubis, attack Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon! Wrath from the Underworld!" I declare, and Anubis extends his hand, shooting black lightning at Odd Eyes, destroying it.
Yuya: 3300
"Nnnngh, when a pendulum monster is destroyed, it goes to the extra deck instead of the graveyard!" Yuya declares, placing his ace monster in the extra deck slot of his duel disk.
"I still have a monster to attack with, anyway. Gravekeeper's Curse, Staff Smash!" At my declaration of attack, Curse rushes at Yuya, hitting his disk blade as Yuya rose it to defend himself.
Yuya: 2500
"I now activate Double Summon! This card let's me normal summon an additional time."
Everyone looked at me, clearly surprised, except Tatsuya.
"Now I will summon Gravekeeper's Drake!" I set the card and the clouds start swirling. After a while, a shadow descends. Its appearance was similar to the Wing Dragon of Ra, but it was missing the ring on its back and was colored silver, had piercing green eyes, and was smaller than Anubis.
Gravekeeper's Drake

Defense: 1000
"I end my turn with that." I state, and I jump onto Drake's back, beginning my search for Action Spells. Yuya pulls his goggles over his eyes, clearly thinking. Yuzu and the kids looked on, worried, until Yuya smiles.
"You are really good, John, especially with that synchro summon!" I look down from above, smiling at the praise.
"Well, I've had alot of practice from where I came from. Now, let's continue this entertaining duel!" I declare, Anubis and Curse smiling at my declaration as Drake simply roars.
"You got it, buddy! Draw! Swing, pendulum of souls! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Descend, my monster allies! From my hand, level 5, Performapal Drummerilla! And from the extra deck, level 7, the heroic dragon with dichromatic eyes, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
I smile, seeing joy in how our monsters were reacting.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Here comes the comeback performance of me against John! Now, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon attacks Anubis!"
"But Odd Eyes is weaker!" Yells Ayu, but I smile, knowing Yuya's plan.
"Now now. Performapal Drummerilla's effect! By encouraging his ally, they gain 600 attack until the end of the battle phase!"
Attack: 3100
"Now Odd Eyes has enough attack, and when he attacks a level 5 or higher monster, the damage is doubled. Reaction Force!" Odd Eyes then shoots it's Spiral Strike Burst attack as its gems start to shine, signaling it's effect activating. The flames struck Anubis, creating a large cloud of smoke.
John's Life points: 3200
As the smoke clears, everyone is shocked to see that Gravekeeper's Curse was in front of Anubis, protecting him.
"Anubis is protected from destruction if I give up one of my face up Gravekeeper's. Curse sacrificed himself to protect the Deity."
Yuya was surprised the most. He gets on Odd Eyes' back again, searching for an Action Spell. Just as he grabbed one....
"I activate the Action Spell: No Action! You cannot use that spell now." I declare as I used a card I grabbed from atop an obelisk next to Anubis.
"Wow! He's working with his monsters almost as good as Yuya!" Ayu exclaims. Even Yuya smiles, clearly having fun.
"I guess I'll have to end this act. So now, I return the spotlight onto John." declared Yuya, bowing. I simply chuckle and return the gesture with a nod.
"Thank you, Yuya. Now, it's time to kick off my turn with a spectacle of my own! I draw!" I look at my card and smile. The virtual clouds disperse, letting sunlight beam onto me.
"Ladies and gentlemen of all ages, prepare to see the next step in Gravekeeper's evolution! I sacrifice my Gravekeeper's Drake to advance summon Gravekeeper's Paladin!" At declaring this, Drake flies up, splitting up then re-merging into a orb of light. As the light fades, a man clad in golden robes and silver armor descended, carrying a huge staff-like blade.
Gravekeeper's Paladin

"Huh? How did you summon a level 7 monster with only one sacrifice?" Yuya asked.
"Gravekeeper's Drake is treated as two monsters for the advance summon of a level 7 or higher Gravekeeper's monster." I explained, then continued my turn.
"I activate Paladin's effect! By banishing a Gravekeeper's monster from the graveyard, I can remove one monster you control from the game for the turn. I choose Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon! Calling of the Beyond!"
Paladin raises his staff-sword, and Odd Eyes gets pulled into the sky before disappearing.
"Odd Eyes!" Yuya looks up, shocked, as Odd Eyes vanished.
"Battle! Gravekeeper's Deity Anubis attacks your Drummerilla!"
Anubis punches the gorilla, destroying it.
Yuya: 1900
"Now, Paladin attacks you directly, Yuya. Gravekeeper's Diffusion Wave Motion!"
My paladin raises his weapon, creating a sphere of energy. Soon after, waves of energy are released from the sphere, colliding with Yuya.
Yuya: 0
Winner: John
The field starts to disappear, and Yuya is dusting himself off after getting up. I walk up to him and extend my hand.
"Great duel, Yuya." I smile. Yuya smiles back and shakes my hand.
"Yeah. I thought I had you, but your Paladin certainly changed that."
"SUCH A HOT BLOODED DUEL!!!!" Shuzo yells, practically crying.
"I didn't know you could synchro summon! Where did you learn how to?" Yuzu asked, and I chuckle.
"I'm self-taught." Suddenly, my stomach rumbles. Everyone laughs and Yuya looks at me.
"You can come by my place for something to eat."
"You sure that's okay, Yuya? I mean, we just met." I try talking out of it, but to no avail as he pulls me along.
"My mom won't mind. Just don't compliment her like Sora did on her age."  After saying this, we were outside the Duel school and heading to Yuya's home.
