I was surprised after seeing Shiro's duel disk being an Academia disk, but I smile knowing I had her as an ally. I turn back to Panik/96. He simply grits his teeth.
"Who cares about you getting a little help. It won't matter! I attack Utopia! Swift Berserking!" As Berserkers axe came close, a little monster similar to Kuriboh appears in front of the axe, deflecting the attack. I turn and see that Shiro activated a card from her hand.
"Rainbow Kuriboh's ability! I attach it to Berserker and prevent him from attacking." A small monster appears and flies around Berserker, creating a rainbow colored bind. Panik/96 simply grunts in annoyance.
"I end my turn with a facedown."
Shiro simply smiles as she draws a card.
"I activate Polymerization! I fuse from my hand the Forgiving Maiden and Marie the Fallen One." As the two monsters appear and fly into the Fusion portal, Shiro starts her Fusion chant.
"Fallen angel from heaven, receive the maidens blessing and rise up with new hope. Fusion Summon! Take up your holy blade, level 7, St. Joan!"
A beautiful woman wearing silver armor flies out of the portal, carrying a thin broadsword. She swings it around, striking a pose similar to a knight.
"Now, I set two cards, then I attack Berserker! Holy Slash!" Joan jumps into the air, preparing to swing her sword down on Berserker's head....
"I activate my face down! Draining Shield! I negate your attack and recover Life Points equal to the damage I would have taken!"
Panik/92 life points: 6800
Shiro gives a grunt in disgust, hoping to take out Berserker.
"I end my turn."
I look at Shiro, smiling.
"Thanks for coming to help me. Now, let me finish this." Shiro looks at me, shocked, then smiles and nods. I turn towards Panik/96, smiling.
"It comes to this draw, 96. I will defeat you!"
As I declare my victory, my top card starts to shine, and I see a silhouette within my mind's eye. She wore golden armor, metal-like angel wings, and a big broadsword. The figure opens her eyes, revealing them to be colored silver. I return my focus to the duel, smiling.
"I'll call you out. I DRAW!"
I pull the card, and it's a new card, but I new it would help. I look at Shiro.
"Mind me borrowing Joan?"
Shiro looks at Joan, who nods back. Shiro then simply nods.
"Okay. I activate Change of Heart! I target St. Joan and take control of her. Next, I activate Numeron Synchronization! I target a Number xyz monster I control. Its rank becomes a level, and it's treated as a tuner!"
At this, everyone simply stared in shock. I notice some gasps come from behind me behind some crates, but figured I'd reveal them after the duel.
"I tune the level 7 St. Joan with the now level 4 tuner Number 39: Utopia!"
Utopia flies up into the light of the sun, disappearing. Then four green Synchro rings come down, surrounding St. Joan.
"Energy of Hope, Light, and Peace, merge together and become my guardian. Synchro Summon! The Vanguard of my destiny, level 11, Shining Numeron Paladin!"
A bright light shoots down, hitting the ground behind me and Shiro. It was so bright, Panik/96 covered his eyes, a look of shock and fear on his face. After the light dissipated, the monster from my mind's eye stood, standing at least 8 feet tall. She stretched her wings and lifted her sword, holding it next to her chest. Panik/96 simply backs up a few steps, tripping over some debris created by Berserker.
Shining Numeron Paladin

"I now activate her effect! By returning her Synchro materials back to the field, all your Dark cards are drained of their powers. Darkness Purge!" Paladin nods and begins shining. The menacing aura surrounding Berserker disappears, and he drops his axe as his strength is drained.
"I don't believe it." Panik/96 says in fear. "How do you have this power!? The Numeron Code disappeared long ago!"
I gave him a stern look, but inside I was surprised and now wondering the same thing. However, I have to win this Duel before worrying about this.
"Now return, St. Joan! Number 39: Utopia!" The two monsters return, both holding their swords at ready.
"Battle! Shining Numeron Paladin, attack Shadow Numeron Berserker with Radiant Hope Slash!"
At my declaration, Paladin raises her sword, as do Utopia and Joan. Their energy glows and merges with Paladins blade, who then swings downward, cutting Berserker in half.
"GAAAAAH!" Panik/96 screams. A light envelopes him, but a shadow flies out of Panik before he disappears.
