"Wait, who is this girl?" the girl you just met, Sasha, asked. This time she didn't even bother to hide her surprise, looking at you as if she had just seen a weird specimen.

"Uh... Hi, I'm (Y/N)" you awkwardly said, feeling a bit nervous by her stare.

Maya took a step forward, her arms crossed as she went on to explain the situation. "It may sound weird, but this girl here comes from another world... or dimension, I'm not sure" she went on to explain. "In normal circumstances, I would've never come to you for help, but as you can see, this is an important matter, so..."

"You? Asking me for help? Well, that's certainly new" The girl closed the book, looking slightly amused despite her face not showing a lot of emotion.

"I can assure you that stranger things have happened in Vexlord" Sasha didn't look affected in the slightest, if anything, she looked unfazed after hearing it.

'That's it? This girl knows how to take things well —and just what kind of place is Vexlord??'

Konoha giggled softly. "What the tsundere is trying to say, is that she—no, we need your help. I'm sure that you have more knowledge than us, so if we work together, maybe we'll be able to find a way to... You know, travel through space and time?" She said that last part unsure, not having any idea of what she was talking about.

Hannah nodded at her words. "Sasha, help us please"

Said girl let out a soft sigh in defeat. Who could have said no to those puppy eyes anyway?

"While I currently don't know if such thing possible, I believe many people have already tried..." She put on a thoughtful expression before she continued speaking.

"We might find something useful in the third section" the white-haired girl added, then she looked at you. "By the way, I'm Sasha Bloodriver" she briefly introduced herself before immediately going back to business.

As the girls were about to head to another bookshelf, you stayed still, wanting to say something else before beginning the research.

"Wait" the four turned to look at you at the same time. " I just wanted to say... Thanks for helping me, girls" you said to the four of them. "I... I owe you a big one" you gave them an honest smile. First time you smiled so brightly since the moment you had arrived there.

You barely knew each other, yet they treated you kindly and offered to help you with no hesitation. It's only normal you felt so grateful and wanted to express your gratitude.

Their cheeks turned a light pink upon hearing your words.

"N-No problem"

"Yeah, we don't mind at all"

"No need to thank us"

"Agreed"

After an hour and a half of reading and looking for books, Hannah had started to doze off so Konoha decided it was time to take a little break. Sasha sighed, but she continued reading her book while Maya tried to wake up the blond haired girl, who ended up falling asleep on a book.

"Come on, wake up lazy fox..." Maya mumbled as she shook Hannah's body.

A yawn escaped from your mouth. You've been reading for a long time —well more like trying, since most of the books were in a different language— so you needed to rest for a bit. Konoha quickly noticed this and she was the one who offered you to take a breath outside and relax.

Her offer seemed very appealing to you, so you didn't have to think twice as you stood up from the chair and uttered a quick 'Thanks. I'll be right back in 15 minutes' to the girls.

Once you stepped outside the library, you took a deep breath, relaxing your tense muscles. Looking up at the sky, you noticed that it was starting to darken, but you had seriously no idea what time it was.

And to be honest, it didn't matter to you right now. You streched your arms, and began walking, only to realise that there was no one around.

'That's... Weird'

However, you quickly shrugged it off.

The library was, according to what they had told you, a bit far away from the centre of Vexlord, which was the most crowded part of the whole village.

'I wonder where the girls live... They never told me'

You were lost in thought, thinking about other irrelevant stuff, when you suddenly heard something that sent you chills down your spine.

"Is someone crying..?"

It was a faint sound, but it didn't seem very distant. Soft whimpers coming from a weak person... Or more like a small kid crying.

You stood there, unsure of what to do next. But you were too kind to leave, so you ended up heading towards the source of the sound. It came from an alleyway not very far from the library, so it didn't take you long to find it.

Curled up in the corner of a wall, a young boy around nine or ten years, his face hidden between her arms and knees as he kept sobbing.

You...

A) Approach him

B) Stay still

C) Get out of th——

Too late.

"M-Miss..?"

You gulped.

"Are you... Okay?"

He looked up at you and your (E/c) eyes met his red and puffy ones, which were of a green colour that could even be seen in that dark place.

"No... I-I can't get up" he sobbed "My leg hurts..." He said in a weak voice as he held her right leg.

You took a few steps towards him and noticed that there was something red where he was holding, and where the young boy was sitting down, there was a small puddle of the same colour surrounding him.

Blood.

"Oh my go— Stay there, I'll call for help!" You started to freak out and quickly turned around. You were about to run and look for help when he suddenly stopped you.

"N-No! Don't leave... H-Help me" he begged you.

"B-But your leg--"

"Come here" he cut you off, but this time he said it in a dark tone, as though he had just given you an order you couldn't ignore or else you would have to face the consequences.

'I'm just being paranoid...'

Without saying anything else, you walked up to him. When you were in front of the boy, you knelt down, looking at him, worry written all over your face.

"Who did this to you? Where are your parents?" You asked him.

The only reply you were given was utter silence, if that even counts as an answer...

"Hey... Are you--?"

"A vampire attacked me. And my parents are dead" he said, looking ar you with a blank expression. Your eyes widened upon hearing this.

"A vampire?? Your parents... What?!" You hoisted your body up as fast as a lightning, looking at him with a horrified face.

You had no time to process this, ignoring the fact that vampires existed according to him.

"I-I'm sorry, I--" you sluttered.

Then, before you could step back, he grabbed you by the leg with an almost abnormal strength, making you yelp.

"Don't worry..." he stared at you and then he did something very unexpected.

He smiled. Yes, he smiled at you.

"Because I killed them both"

His once green eyes turned completely black, and the hand that was holding your leg started change as long claws started growing. One of them slightly pierced through your skin, drawing a bit of blood from it.

You gasped, unable to speak or even let out a yell. Because you were frozen in fear.

The boy stood up and his body started to change as well... You saw it with a pale face. How his body began growing scales, how his teeths were now long and pointy fangs, and how his tongue was so long that it almost brushed your cheek.

It was at that exact moment when you finally reacted.

You frowned, kicking his chest with your free leg and then you grabbed his —extremely disgusting— tongue, pulling in and making him yelp in shock.

You might lack strength and speed, but fortunately, you had good reflexes, something that proved very useful in critical situations.

Now that he was a bit distracted, you stepped on his foot, making him release your leg, and you started to run through the alleyways.

It was dark and you were too busy in trying to keep running without stumbling that you didn't notice you were heading towards a dead end until you saw a wall in front of you.

You stopped in time and turned around to change directions, until you found yourself face-to-face with him.

"Monster..." Your back was now laying against the wall behind you "Is this it? Am I gonna die to a... Monster lizzard?" You mumbled to yourself, feeling as though all your energies had been drained away, all the adrenaline from before was gone, leaving you exhausted.

"Lizzard? I'm a half dragon, you scum!" His face now a few inches away from your shoulder, since he had also grown in height. He opened his mouth, about to devour you.

But...

If you screamed loud... Maybe someone would hear you. Even if it were too late... It was your last hope, after all.

So, you shouted as loud as your lungs allowed you, the first name that crossed your mind.

A) "Maya!!!"

B) "Hannah!!!"

C) "Konoha!!!"

D) "Sasha!!!"
