Deerplier x Reader: Mythical Imbecile

"What do you mean no connection? You can't do that to me. Work, you electronic piece of crap."

Needless to say, ( y/n ) wasn't exactly in a happy mood. A whole camping trip had been planned over the course of around a month and at first she'd been excited about the whole thing, looking forward to it since it meant she wasn't stuck back at work and actually had a legitimate reason to go to the large woods people had always seemed to avoid. It seemed like a perfect plan, incredibly fun and a chance to relax. Her only two problems were that nobody else wanted to go and she was now horrifically lost. Not only that, she'd been lost for the past two hours and her phone hadn't been getting any signal since she took a step into the woods; some might have taken this as a sign not to go on this trip, but not ( y/n ). Because who could resist the chance to test whether making popcorn actually worked over an open fire?

"I swear to God if you don't start working in the next ten minu—" She would have finished her sentence if it weren't for the sudden deafening noise of gunshots firing echoing through the woods, stopping her in her tracks immediately. Rather than running away quickly like she figured she should have, she sat down on the dirt quickly with her back against what she hoped was a clean tree as she listened for who could be carrying the guns. The sound was unmistakable of course but hunting was illegal in this area, so this wasn't meant to be happening at all. There was the sound nearby of maybe two or three people arguing loudly with each other before they began running, quickly getting more distant from ( y/n ) as she stayed hidden. It took a few seconds before she forced herself to get up, slowly turning to peek around the tree before beginning to walk towards where the gunshot noise had came from; although really she had no idea what she expected to see, considering something had obviously been shot. Maybe a sparrow, or some other bird around this area—

"Holy shit." ( y/n ) muttered as she finally got to the creature that'd been shot, her eyes widening in shock as she immediately realised this was very definitely not a sparrow. Instead what was collapsed on the ground looked like the large body of a deer, or at least some of it. Where the deer's neck was supposed to join with the shoulders a human torso started, although there was no shirt over it and it was definitely not a costume no matter how much she convinced herself it must be. Its face was incredibly human but had a large amount of deer features, with the end of its nose black and a small mark leading down to its top lip. Its ears were clearly those of a deer, although what was especially strange was the fact it was wearing glasses; although she didn't focus on that, considering it was passed out likely from shock and had a nasty bruise on its forehead where it had hit the ground. One of its ankles was bleeding profusely from where it had obviously been shot, with a slight scrape on its shoulder bleeding only lightly from where the second bullet had only just missed. There didn't seem to be any other bullet wounds but it was plain to say ( y/n ) was panicking majorly over what the Hell to do here: so instead of screaming and running like she usually would she knelt down and instantly pulled some old shirt from her backpack as fast as she could, wrapping it tightly around the bullet wound on his ankle as she attempted to figure out what she had to do now.

"Now you have signal?!" She hissed as she heard her phone beeping, searching through her contacts with one hand as she attempted to slow the bleeding at the same time. One name stood out as she saw it, figuring she had very few options right now and calling them before placing the phone on her shoulder and pressing it against her ear as she used both of her hands to hold the shirt tightly around his ankle. It was definitely bleeding a lot but luckily it hadn't hit anything completely vital, aside from the bruise on his head was already a sickly purple colour. It was a few seconds before the person actually answered on the other line, seeming quite chilled out despite everything.

"Hey, what's up?" Danny answered calmly, sounding quite relaxed on the other side of the line whilst ( y/n ) was merely thankful for the fact he'd answered on time for once. She hesitated a moment as she adjusted the phone positioned on her shoulder but then focused completely on keeping the blood loss as low as possible and explaining what was going on.

"Danny I need you to drive to the woods east of town right now, you hear me?! Someone's been shot but under no circumstances do you call an ambulance, this isn't normal stuff. Few miles out, you'll find me and for God's sake please bring Arin, we need him." She explained as quickly and as clearly as possible, making sure he at least said 'okay' before hanging up. That was when the waiting started and she had to focus completely on stopping this 'creature' from bleeding out and dying when there was no idea what it was. Perhaps it was some sort of being from a storybook, although honestly ( y/n ) had no clue what it was and didn't really care at the minute. It was already awkwardly silent, the birds not making a single peep since the gunshots had rung out.

The lack of noise had been unbearable but soon a distinct sound echoed between the tree's, the one of a car nearby and it gradually stopping before someone slammed the doors as they got out. ( y/n ) stayed completely still as she listened to see if she could tell who it was but had a feeling already, her hands bloodied almost to her elbows from her attempts during the painfully long wait. It was only a few moments before she heard footsteps just a mere few feet away and turned to face them, sighing in relief slightly as two shocked pairs of eyes stared straight back.

"What the Hell is that?!" Danny yelped as he hurried backwards, too scared of what might happen if he intervened to move any closer but Arin did the opposite. The shorter man stepped forward, kneeling down slightly although he was still staring in complete confusion he also appeared to be slightly in awe of the creature that by now had lighter skin due to blood loss.

"We need to get it into the car and home right now or it dies. And I'm not letting that happen." ( y/n ) stated bluntly as she tightened her grip on the towel around the creatures leg, holding it down tighter to try and keep it from bleeding despite the fact the bleeding had slowed tremendously. Danny was still stood a bit further away from them in confusion and fear but Arin nodded, glancing back to Danny and gesturing for the curly haired man to come closer. He hesitated before finally sighing and quickly hurried closer, kneeling down beside Arin and looking over to ( y/n ) with curiosity as Arin gave the woman a serious look.

"You get the car ready as fast as you can and we carry it, got it? We get this thing back as fast as possible and we do whatever the Hell we can." He ordered with a dead serious expression on his face, surprisingly stern about this but not getting any complaints as she nodded back and sprinted as fast as she could towards the car to get it ready.

Maybe camping trips weren't as boring as she first thought.
