Hanahaki Disease is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear.

Scenario 1:

You were in love with your best friend (Crush) and you had the Hanahaki Disease. You coughed up (Type of flower) petals so when you found this out, you stopped hanging out with people a lot. You didn't go out much and you were always in pain. Yeah, you could get the petals removed but that would make you never feel love again and you'd rather die than never love again. You were tired of the pain and decided to just tell him and hope for the best. So you invited him over and got ready to tell him. He came over and began asking if you were ok. You were ready to tell him when you felt the petals coming up. You quickly covered your mouth and kept them down before blurting out, "I love you! I needed to tell you before I die or worse!" You cried as you clenched your head. He stared at you in shock before he walked over to you and grabbed your face with a smile. You stared at him slightly. "I love you too...." He mumbled before kissing you. Continue....
