You took a deep breath, walking up to Tanya and Jim's front door. Your knuckles hovered over the door for a couple seconds before you knocked and Tanya answered immediately.

"Paige! What a nice surprise!" Your sister grinned, "Come in, come in." You obliged and followed Tanya into the house, into the living room where you both sat down on the sofa.

"So, what are you doing here?" She wondered.

"I just wanted to see you." You replied, which wasn't completely true. That wasn't the only reason. You were there because you'd finally decided to tell her you were gay. You even had a girlfriend. You'd been dating in secret for two years now but you were getting tired of hiding.

"Would you like a drink? Tea, coffee, hot chocolate?" Tanya offered.

"Um, no, thank you." You politely declined, "But, Tan, there's something I need to tell you."

"What's up?" She asked, looking slightly worried.

You stayed silent for a second, trying to figure out what to say and trying to calm your nerves. You knew Tanya would accept you, but you were worried she'd treat you differently.

"Well... Um, I-I'm... Uh... I kind of...like g-girls." You finally managed to tell her, holding your breath as you waited for her reaction.

"Oh, well, that's okay." She shrugged.

"That's it?" You asked, "You don't think it's a big deal?"

"No, not really. I mean, I'm proud of you for telling me, but it doesn't change anything. You're still my little sister."

You felt a huge weight lift off your shoulders and you felt tears of relief build in your eyes, "Thank you, Tan."

"You don't need to thank me, sis." She smiled, pulling you in for a hug.

"Oh, and there's one other thing." You said, pulling away and biting your lip.

"And what's that?"

"Me and Chloe aren't just best friends." You confessed.

"Oh, okay, well, just make sure she knows that I'm coming for her if she breaks your heart." She winked and you giggled. You really were lucky to have a sister like Tanya.
