𝐨𝐨𝐨. 𝐓he Bridget Family Blood comes as pure as it gets. As though the crimson liquid running vigorously through their veins was distilled for centuries under a filter to remove any hint of 'impurity'. The family's pride and dignity are passed down to Zircon and Celeste Bridget's only daughter whose piercing eyes spell out the bloodline's pristine reputation. As one would say, Scarlet Bridget — the darling, dearest... dicey young girl with impeccable looks — even bleeds gold.

𝐨𝐨𝐨. 𝐏erhaps that is what sealed a close alliance between the Noble House of Black and the Bridget Lineage. The Manors housing Slytherin legacies shared eugenic beliefs regarding Muggleborns, Half-blood wizards and witches, Half-breeds— you name it... it tied a strong string between the two families ever since the ancient era. After Zircon's death, Celeste, with her young stoic daughter, settled down in the most respectable part of the city— residing in a house next to the Grimmauld Place.

𝐨𝐨𝐨. 𝐖hilst Scarlet carried the duty for the purest magic running through her bones, Sirius' rebellious tactics led him down the opposing path. Whilst Scarlet's life was littered with exquisite compliments and acquiescence from all pure-blood communities, Sirius received scrutinising eyes of disapproval from his parents daily. However, Scarlet didn't feel perfect. Neither did Sirius. Perhaps, something is wrong with the two of them. Inherently.

𝐨𝐨𝐨. 𝐀n eery resentment grew in Sirius Black's mischievous heart for the perfect Scarlet Bridget. The young boy, with his posse of Marauders, watched as she dashed down the hallway with her heeled shoes clicking, having possession of unbeatable elegance, and maroon lips, and could only think what a show-off ! with an irritable roll of his eyes. What he was unaware of was that Scarlet was written into the world to act that way no matter how much her body and bones objected. Not everybody has the privilege of choices.

𝐨𝐨𝐨. 𝐓hat brings us to the resentment Scarlet felt towards the free and defiant Sirius who instead of adapting, continued to live his life to his fullest— strutting down the hallway with an unbearable smirk about pranking/hexing an innocent first-year, speaking and laughing as loud as it could possibly get ( what an insolent idiot! ). The boy had the uncanny ability to protest against any and every belief his parents possessed without being shunned. And the girl was blissfully unaware of the consequences the boy faced as a result of his behaviour behind the closed doors of his haunted house.

He resented her for everything he was not.

She resented him for everything she was not.

this is the first book of the fatal flaw series, which is about sirius and scarlet's life. all the books in this series are loosely connected, sort of like cross-overs but all are stand-alone's!

I haven't read atyd or whatever popular marauders fics, and I don't care either. the marauders are going to be written how I interpret them, so if u only want them a certain way based on popular headcanons, that's not gonna happen!

I do not like to write and publish without my readers commenting because I lose motivation. if it's not too much to ask, please leave at least two comments per chapter so I know my efforts are not going to waste. it's disappointing to see my reads and votes go up whilst nobody interacts with the chapters.

scarlet is not the perfect person. nor do I intend for her to be. girlie got tons of darkness bs around her. characters can be interesting w/o being an overall good person. she makes terrible choices, many subtle mistakes but she's just a girl and she tries. the idea is to leave room for growth ( or not, ;) ), so you don't really have to fall in love w/ her at first sight.
