Ghost
~
I woke up the next morning with a groan, in my new bed and tried to remember what happened last night but couldn't. My parents had been upset with my disappearance and even more so when apparently Suho did in fact, bring me home drunk. Where was Baekhyun?
I knew I had to find that boy again so I stumbled out the back again, rushing for the bakery. Why did I not ask where he lived, stupid. Kyungsoo was at the counter again, Xuimin and Suho were there too sitting around a table.
"Chanyeol! How are you today? Suho told me he had to send you back yesterday, the first day you're already quite the talk of the town," Kyungsoo called out with a laugh. "Take a seat, I'll get you something to eat and a coffee."
"I warned you to tell me first, I had to close up early for that, you were a mess!" Suho grumbled and Xuimin hit his arm.
"Oh give the poor boy a break, he's new. Come sit with us Chanyeol," he offered, pulling up a chair beside them which I took.
"Thanks, and I'm so sorry Suho, I thought I would be alright since Baekhyun was there with me. Do you know where he lives? I forgot to ask and didn't get his number too." I asked shyly, scratching my head. The two exchanged a nervous glance before Suho pulled out my phone and a letter.
"You dropped these at the bar yesterday, sorry I only saw it today morning when I went to pick up something." he passed them to me. How I could not realize my phone wasn't with me all morning!
"Oh my god, thank you! I must still be out of it," I laughed it off feeling embarrassed. My phone was dead, I sighed dropping it back on the table before noticing the envelope. I don't remember carrying it with me yesterday but it did indeed have my name on it in cursive.
"Here you go, a vanilla muffin and latte!" Kyungsoo came back with a smile, placing them in front of me. "I thought maybe you didn't really like the blueberry one from last time so I got you the vanilla. Try to finish it this time, you're killing my baker's ego." he pouted. I looked at him in confusion, we did finish everything...right?
"Thank god for just one latte, Chanyeol tried to have two yesterday at my cafe but barely touched the other." Xuimin chuckled beside me before continuing, "Are you sure you can finish the muffin? You left my poor diamond princess all alone on the tray too," he tried to joke but I couldn't hear it anymore. What was going on?
"W-what do you mean? Baekhyun ate that one, and drank the latte!" I asked, baffled by what they were saying.
"Chanyeol...I'm sorry but who's Baekhyun? You came to the cafe alone, I didn't see anyone join you after either." Xuimin said softly. That's not possible...
"You were alone at the bar all night too, it looked like you were enjoying so I didn't question it. Are you ok?" Suho asked next and I lost it. No, no I wasn't okay. Where was Baekhyun? I knew he was there. I looked down at the envelope I didn't recognize and with shaky hands, opened it, pulling out a letter.
Dear Channie,
Alone in a dark box, I cracked little by little every day.
I thought I'd never see you again, those thoughts faded the flavor.
When the still silence surrounded us, you trapped me deep in my dreams.
Now I'm faint in your memories, just out of reach.
It's not fair, I lost you one more time, while you lose me before you even had me again.
Even if I wanted you so much it drove me crazy, you Ghost.
Even if you want me again, I'm Ghost.
You came to me and I left without a word.
I won't try to hold onto you anymore, for I still love you.
Please let me go, I'm sorry.
Yours Truly,
Candy.
