Tamer of Wolves

Adelina reappeared in a snowy field, the round moon in the sky illuminates what seems like an endless white world of snow.

A large wolf is seated elegantly at the top of a giant rock, his snow-white fur is like the purest lotus flower in a muddy pond. The wolf looks beautiful... and lonesome.

"You must be the Alpha." Adelina said without fear

The wolf seems to sense her fighting spirit so it jumped down from the rock to face her.

Adelina realized that she's surrounded by more than ten wolves. The Alpha mockingly stare at her for challenging him alone.

"You think you can scare me with your number?" Adelina laughed mockingly

In the blink of an eye, the table has turned.

Hundred of Adelina's clones appeared out of thin air. Each possessing different legacies, shocking the wolves.

This must be what Naruto feels like every time he stuns his enemies with his Shadow Clone Jutsu.

"You are so dead." All the Adelinas chuckled

There's no need to elaborate further.

The wolves were beaten up so bad, they wish they were dead.

"Be my dogs, and I'll spare your lives." Adelina said as she smiled kindly, but in the eyes of the wolves, she's smiling like a death reaper.

The wolves who loves to hunt, becomes the prey tonight.

"Fifteen soldiers will come with me to search for the Duchess. The rest will stay here to protect those who cannot fight." Maxwell instructed

"We must hurry your Highness. If something is to happen to the Duchess, I'm afraid the Duke might-" the captain of the Sullivan guards unconsciously reached out to his neck. The Duke made it clear to all his subordinates that he will cut off a head for every scratches in the Duchess body.

The Royal guards suddenly felt sorry for the duke's subordinate upon seeing their sullen faces.

Everyone could only pray that the Duchess is safe.

"Wolves!" one of the guards shouted

And not long after, several wolves jumped from the forest.

A bitter fight suddenly ensued.

"Look out!" Devin slashed down a wolf that appeared behind Luella.

But no matter how many wolves he slashed down, they kept coming!

"J-just how many wolves are out there?" Luella asked in fear

"Lady Sabrina, use your legacy and hide. I can't protect you both." Devin said apologetically because he's outnumbered.

Actually, all the guards were outnumbered so they can only fight to save themselves.

Sabrina is scared, but she knew that she will only burden Devin if she just hide behind him.

"Stay close to his side, stay safe." Sabrina reminded Luella

"B-but Sabrina, w-will you be okay on your own?" Luella is not scared for herself, she's more afraid that something might happen to Sabrina and the Duchess.

"I will be alright." Sabrina reassured her. But to be honest, she knew that she may die.

"P-please stay safe." Luella

"I will." Sabrina said before she vanished by activating her Legacy of Invisibility.

Devin felt guilty for making this choice. But what can he do? His Legacy is good at ambushing the enemy, but with Lady Luella behind him, he cannot fully utilise his powers while shielding her at the same time. Much more if there's two he must protect.

"Sorry for failing you Duchess." Devin murmured as he remembered that the Duchess instructed him to protect both the ladies.

Just then, he suddenly felt the presence of another wolf behind Luella.

"My Lady! Dodge!" He desperately pulled down Luella towards his embrace and duck to dodge the wolf's sharp claws and fangs.

Luella who's safely tucked under Devin suddenly felt scared. She knew that the man is shielding him desperately from the wolves. She can feel it with the erratic beating of his heart.

Is this the end? Luella wonders.

Just as everyone was about to give up hope, a powerful howl echoed on this chaotic night.

This howl is like a signal that instantly stopped all the wolves in place.

The guards were puzzled with this sudden turn of events.

All of a sudden, a beautiful woman suddenly appeared out of thin air.

With the moonlight shining above, her long silvery hair look like silk threads that dances with the wind.

She looks dazzling.

No, she's actually enchanting.

"Duchess!" everyone gasped in shock

Devin honestly thought that he's done for. All he wanted was to protect his woman even if he breath his last trying.

But since the wolves suddenly stopped attacking and obediently sat down like innocent dogs, Devin breath a sigh of relief.

"I... I t-think we're safe now." Luella

Devin suddenly realized that he's sandwiching Luella beneath him, "Are you hurt?"

Upon hearing the worry in his voice, Luella was moved. "I.. I'm a-alright.."

"I'm glad." He breath a sigh of relief.

"C-can you move so I c-can stand up?" Luella asked while blushing like a tomato.

Seeing her cute reaction, Devin's heart started beating like a drum inside his chest.

Devin stared at her eyes and said, "Lady Luella, since you took away my heart, please take responsibility and be mine."

Luella's heart suddenly skipped a beat.

W-what is this? She's feeling giddy and shy all of sudden.

Just then, Adelina suddenly clears her throat, "Sorry to interrupt, but you two are blocking the way."

"D-duchess!" Luella suddenly blushed. To be seen in such an awkward position by her idol is just too much for an innocent girl like Luella.

The two moved out of the way when they realized that everyone were watching them with obvious interest.

Adelina even have the urge to eat some popcorn, the exchange between Luella and Devin was like a scene from a soap opera. But no matter how much she enjoys the show, she had to intervene to talked about business.

"Duchess! You're safe!" Sabrina burst into tears.

Adelina suddenly felt sorry for her friend. She keep worrying her. She's afraid that Sabrina's hairline might really lessen if she keep on doing dangerous stunts.

"Sabrina!" Luella immediately hug Sabrina upon seeing her safe

"I'm glad you're all safe." Adelina breathe a sigh of relief.

"Duchess! Where have you been? You made all of us worrie-Holy mother of!" Maxwell who was about to reprimand Adelina for her rush actions, almost bite his tongue upon seeing the emergence of a giant wolf behind Adelina.

All the guards pointed their swords behind the Duchess.

"Ah? Calm down everyone." Adelina

"Duchess! Behind you!" The captain of the Sullivan Guards shouted. He's afraid that something unspeakable might befell their Duchess!

Adelina looked back and said to the giant wolf, "Alpha, you're scaring everyone! Sit down!"

Like an obedient puppy, the Alpha wolf sat down.

"Now, roll over." Adelina

Like a well-trained dog, the alpha wolf rolled over.

"Good boy! Now sit and wait, okay?" Adelina instructed and the alpha wolf nod his head as he sat in silence.

"The wolves are now my cute friends, they will accompany us back to Lancaster. No need to worry, they will keep us safe." Adelina

There was only silence so Adelina looked back at the gaping crowd, "Are you guys alright?" she asked in confusion, why do they all look shocked?

No one responded to her question.

Are they alright?

Fnck no!

If Daenerys is the mother of dragons, could the Duchess be the mother of wolves?

No, no, that seems wrong.

She's more like.... the Tamer of Wolves!

Why else would this scary giant alpha wolf act so obediently if not, right?

Maxwell doesn't know if he should be scared or if he should cry tears of joy.
