Third Person's P. O. V.

"That was fun!" Jin spoke plopping on the seat beside Jungkook, his wide smile proved it all too well how delighted he was with how his two 'best friends' had arranged to make this evening special for him.

They were at the club, although the only one actually allowed to be here was Jungkook. The handful of kids who had accompanied them were still dancing, their steps muddled because of the drinks they had all downed together a little while ago. This was a part of a ritual of sorts where they would party without regrets the night before their eighteenth birthday.

"Who said we're done? I know I'm not" Taehyung spoke plopping down beside Jin, his hand casually slung over Jin's shoulder in a habitual manner "where did Hoseok go?"

All three of them dressed in chic shirts that made heads inadvertantly turn and pants which complimented their curves, Jungkook's black silk blazer was gone now that he felt sweaty and Jin saw Taehyung run his fingers through his messy hair as he shuffled out of jacket he had been wearing. He didn't realize when his eyes stayed unmoving on how the other unbuttoned the first couple of buttons of his shirt to cool himself down.

"I think Hobi won't be coming with us after all" Jungkook's words broke Jin's trance as he blinked and frowned to himself realizing what he had just been doing. Jin heard Taehyung and Jungkook snigger to see Hoseok dancing with some omega, the alpha was practically all over her at the moment.

"What if I present as a beta tomorrow?" Jin asked, comfortable in between his two best friends "are you gonna kick me out of the apartment?"

He added a chuckle, making it sound like a joke but he too knew that although he had said he didn't care what he'd present as because he would still be the coolest one among all three of them, yet somewhere inside he was a little nervous about tomorrow.

"Imagine you presenting as an omega" Taehyung grinned beside him, his voice a taunt as he eyed Jin "that'd be news...Yoongi's gonna lose his mind if that happens" and both Taehyung and Jungkook burst into a laugh with that remembering the way the senior alpha had been trying for months to get Jin to date him.

Jin rolled his eyes at their stupid antics "that's not even funny."

"True...it's sick...I can't even imagine it" Taehyung shook his head still laughing.

"Yeah" Jungkook spoke through his laughter before he was getting up to get back on the dance floor again "another round anyone?"

And he didn't have to ask again as he saw Jin grinning at him in reply, however he was aware what a low tolerance Jin had when it came to alcohol and almost always either of them would happen to be the one to carry a passed out Jin home.

Taehyung stood up watching Jin gleefully grab another glass "well...since its your birthday I won't say anything...but i swear it'll be the last me that I'll carry you home-" "If he presents as an omega then he'd have loads of alphas lining up to carry him home" Jungkook teased Jin again.

"Yeah" Jin scoffed "if I present as an omega, I don't think I'd even wanna be around shabby alphas like you...huh"

"Well...good for us...we aren't blind like Yoongi" Taehyung tittered loudly and Jungkook saw Jin curse at him in return and laughed along as the three of them walked back to the dance floor.

Jungkook was probably four when he made his first friend at playschool, it was the cutest chubby cheeked boy he had ever seen and the second friend he had made that day was the quirkiest guy in class. From what little he remembered of that day, Jungkook would say that he hadn't really wanted to befriend the other but he couldn't say no when the chubby cheeked boy told him that the three of them would be best friends forever.

And that's just how it had stayed, through all their school years and even in college with them becoming more inseparable as the years went by.

However, he had no idea that this morning he'd wake up to get the surprise that'd change all three of their lives.

It was fourth of December, and a part of him was pretty excited because not only was it Jin's birthday but it was also the day they'd learn if Jin too would present as an alpha just like he had. Taehyung's birthday was at the end of this month as well but knowing that he came from a family of pure bred alphas it was more likely that Taehyung will be presenting as an alpha.

"What's that smell?" Jungkook walked out of his room in the morning, the entire apartment seemed to be bathed in some sweet fruity scent.

"Jin presented as an omega" Taehyung spoke, keeping his head low as he ate breakfast. The news made Jungkook pause as well, he didn't know what to say either.

"Omega?"

Before he could say another word, Taehyung was getting up and walking away. Jungkook could see how oddly quiet and uncomfortable the other looked this morning. He had rarely seen Taehyung be this quiet and serious.

"So, he's skipping class today?" Jungkook spoke taking a bite of his toast.

"I guess...he won't talk or come out of his room" Taehyung shrugged as he tried to pretend to be nonchalant but the concern was more than evident on his face "I tried, and got yelled at instead...I don't know what's going on with him or what he's thinking."

They knew they weren't actually expecting this but this was something one couldn't really be sure about and since Jin's parents didn't really belong to a purebred alpha clan, it was always a chance that he could present as either a beta or an omega.

"I guess he wasn't really expecting this to happen" Jungkook thought out loud.

"What's the big deal anyway?" Taehyung mentioned walking towards his room, his tone grumpy and irritated "I don't get why he's being like this...he's just being stupid now."

Jungkook saw him quietly enter his room and shut the door. He knew how Taehyung usually reacted to something he didn't know how to deal with, and he had an idea what must be going through the other's mind at the moment.

And it was true...Taehyung really didn't know how to react to everything that had happened in the last hour...he had never really seen Jin in the way he had this morning. He had heard stuttering breaths and groaning coming from Jin's room, the door was left open in a slight slit but it was enough to give him the view of dishevelled hair...skin flushed pink as he saw Jin shivering on the bed. Taehyung hadn't stopped to think for a second more as he went inside to check on him only to find Jin still asleep but his concerns went higher and his mind numbed with care as he caught Jin whimpering as he curled up in himself.

Taehyung tucked him under the blaknet, hoping to keep him warm and was about to call up Jungkook thinking they'd have to get Jin medical asssistance with how weak and in pain he looked but right when he took a step to walk, he felt a wam hand grasping at his wrist.

'Stay...be here with me'

The words had sounded so small and frail, yet Taehyung had a feeling that he'd never be able to forget how those words had pierced through him and coiled to settle into his chest...and every time he thought about it something fiery ran through his veins.

Jin didn't answer to any of their pleas or their irritated threats for him to stop acting like a kid and come out to have his breakfast. He just curled up under the blanket, hating his fate as he felt more disgusted with the scent he had been releasing without his control.

He had called his mother feeling like a lost kid for the first time in his life. The news had however been a happy surprise to his parents, and they sounded delighted as they gushed about how they'd help him through everything and that he need not fear about anything.

"Everything seems fine" the doctor spoke with a nod "your heat cycle should start within a couple weeks time, and you might face some symptoms a few days prior to the day you actually go into heat."

Jin blinked at her gulping to hear whatever she said, his mind was yet to register this whole new scenario. He didn't really want to be here but his mother had said that it was essential for him to see a doctor as soon as he could, especially because he lived with an alpha and another potential alpha.

"So, Seokjin do you have an alpha who can help you through your heat?"

Jin blinked back at her, his voice shook as he spoke "wh-what?"

"I understand this might all sound too much and too new but being an omega is just as big a responsibility as being an alpha" she spoke to him folding her arms over her chest as she took in the look of the confused young boy in front of her "but you're going to need someone to help you through your heat, suppressants arent something I'd advise you to take."

"Wh-what?" Jin asked again, still struggling to follow and direly failing.

"I'll suggest you talk to your mother if you feel that you're uncomfortable to talk to me about anything you need to know."

Jin left the clinic as fast as he could, feeling nauseous to sit there and listen to how his body would go through certain changes and how his instincts would grow to help him feel more like an omega. And instead of doing anything the doctor had suggested, he spent the rest of the day sulking in his room, annoyed with his mother's constant calls and the incessant knocks on his door.

"Why are you being this immature huh?! Do you think it's cool to make people worry?! Come out or I swear..." Taehyung yelled, banging on the door and yet he couldn't really throw the door open to march in there like he had done so many times before. He could do that yesterday when Jin was his best buddy, he could do that when Jin was just the chubby cheeked boy he had met in playschool who has been his support system all through these years but tonight he couldn't just tell himself to barge in there.

And even though he had been telling himself all day that nothing had changed and nothing would change no matter what any of them presented as but the truth was...it was different tonight...Jin was still his best buddy, his support system but he was also an omega and there were certain things...differences rather that came along with it.

He didn't know why the thought made his chest constrict and a charge pulsed within his heart the more he thought about it.

"At least talk to your mum, she's worried about you" his voice changed from that hot-headed yelling to one of pure concern now. Jin's mother had called him out of concern, asking him and Jungkook to ensure if Jin was well.

"We got cake...come out now will you...Hoseok's gonna be here as well...Jungkook even invited Jimin...don't be a dummy now Jin, come out" his voice was utterly soft and mouth pouty in complain, needing to get Seokjin out of his anger so that they could at least celebrate his birthday.

He was about to knock again when the door pulled open and Taehyung gulped a little to himself before trying to act all tough again.

"I don't feel like celebrating at all...let's just have the cake..." Jin spoke walking ahead through the living room and into the kitchen. Taehyung smiled to himself following after him, he knew Jin didn't have it in him to deny cake.

"Are you feeling ok?" Jungkook asked seeing him.

"Honestly, I feel like shit" Jin shrugged grabbing himself a slice of pizza the two had ordered for dinner "but I guess I'll live."

He eyed the strawberry frosting on the cake, eyes glinting as he dipped a finger onto the cream before he brought it to his mouth, humming a moan at the rich taste.

The action caught Taehyung completely off guard, eyes fixing on the way Jin's lips moved to savour the pink cream and how a creamy trace of it still remained smudged at a corner of Jin's plush mouth. He had no idea what he was doing when he instinctively ran the pad of his thumb against those soft lips to gather the frosting. A flash of urge took over him and he decided to soothe this greed by licking off the cream from his own finger rather than tasting it off those soft moist lips.

"Your scent is calmer than morning" Jungkook spoke and finally both Jin and Taehyung seemed to have awoken from the odd trance that seemed to have gripped at them a few seconds earlier.

"I smell to you too?" Jin sounded dumbfounded.

"What does he smell like?" Taehyung asked in a small voice to Jungkook, curious because he could only get a faint of strawberries coming from Jin, cursing at himself since he hadn't attained his full wolf instincts yet.

Jungkook looked from one to another, finally choosing to answer Jin first "of course I can...I am an alpha remember?"

He then turned to Taehyung "it's kinda fruity, like peaches and strawberries...it's sweet and calming..."

"EEW! Stop stop! This whole thing is just freaking me out!" Jin spoke feeling frustrated with all these new stuff going on with him, he was still no where close to accepting the reality of him being an actual omega.

All three fell quiet while Jin could be seen fuming at his own self.

"You're being really ridiculous now...so what if you presented as an omega-" "Yeah, relax it's not-" "Shut up! Both of you!" Jin snapped back at them "try being ok with the idea of your body doing to stuff you have no control over! Or the fact that I can actually conceive and give birth!"

He heaved up from his seat, fuming and glaring at them "calling me ridiculous" Jin muttered annoyed "bet you'd piss your pants if you'd have to be okay with the mere idea of surviving cramps and a freaking hormone rush every damn month!"

The door to his room banged shut a second time making both Taehyung and Jungkook flinch in retaliation, before the two silently turned to look at each other.

"At least they're right about the mood swings" Jungkook spoke in a low tone fearing to go through another episode of getting yelled at.

"I don't know why I always believed that omegas are pretty sweet and gentle" Taehyung seemed genuinely confused "maybe the doctor made some mistake with him..."

But he knew the doctor wasn't really wrong.

It was late at night, the two had chosen to watch a movie after Jin had stormed into his room and Jungkook had fallen asleep midway.Taehyung was bored and yet not really sleepy, his mind skipping through thoughts when a scent tickled his nose. It was faint but the moment he concentrated on it, he felt as if it was all he could smell and think about.

He took a long drag of it and felt his chest fill with warmth, it was calling on him...and almost as if walking in his sleep he followed the call.

And found himself at the door to Jin's room.

His hand instinctively went to the doorknob, fingers itching to twist it open and get to the source of this alluring scent. Overlooking the voice at the back of his mind that said what he was doing was wrong...he was not supposed to feel like this for his best friend...he should remember that he told himself that Jin presenting as an omega changed nothing between them...they were still the same two people who had been inseparable since they could remember...

But when he found himself looking down at the figure sleeping on the bed, that same face he had watched so many times made him feel things he hadn't expected to feel for Jin and those same pouty lips right now made desire brew in him.

He couldn't help but kneel down beside the bed, checking if Jin was in pain or whimpering like he had in the morning but saw him peacefully asleep.

"Am I going crazy or did you always look this pretty?" His voice was soft hush to himself.

He saw Jin snuggle a little deeper under the duvet, and smiled to see how cute the other looked with his cheek looking chubbier with how it was pressed against the pillow. A strong need to feel that softness of Jin's skin caught on him and Taehyung found himself running a careful finger across that puffed cheek.

"You still got the chubbiest of cheeks Jwan" the smile on his lips turned to a grin as he remembered the name he used to tease Jin with when they were in elementary school because it was the name his mother would call him with and Jin would often get annoyed with him because he didn't want others to know.

The weekend was around the corner and Jin decided to stay home and sulk instead of going out, he even skipped the sleep over he had planned on Saturday with Hoseok to finish the physics assignments.

However, his intention to hide away and sulk on his own had to come to an end on Monday morning...and Seokjin had never dreaded attending his classes like he did today.

"Jeez you smell...oh my! Don't tell me!" Hera, the social butterfly, Seokjin shared his bio-chem classes with squeaked crinkling her nose "you presented as an omega!?"

Her voice was loud enough to catch the attention of the entire class and Seokjin turned red to suddenly have all eyes on him.

"Mind your own business" he mumbled ducking his head, he really wanted to add a few colourful curses along with that but decided not to since he didn't want to create any unnecessary drama that could bring more eyes on himself.

And although he was successful in brushing it off in class since Mr. Han had entered to draw their attention away but Seokjin found himself in a worse fix at lunch time.

"You know I heard something completely remarkable today..."

Jin was waiting for Taehyung and Jungkook to join him at lunch on their usual table when he found himself surrounded by the group of boys who were simply infamous for creating trouble at school.

"Would you believe me if I said that the dashing tennis champ...the hearthrob for whom all the omegas were practically on their knees...turned out to be a complete joke who's now begging to get dicked down himself!" The entire group of idiots burst in laughter as they taunted Jin, Lucas' hand casually setting around Jin's shoulder as he leaned into the omega to catch a whiff of his scent.

"Fuck off Lucas...take your shitshow some place else" Jin's voice was grim as he spoke, eyes burning at the other.

"Oh come on, don't be this rude sweetie...you'd soon be begging for help anyway" Lucas leared leaning too close for comfort as Seokjin sat with a stone cold face chewing on his sandwich while a group of alphas surrounded him.

"I'm sure you can sense how an alpha's scent makes you feel...eh? What are you going to do Jin-ah when all you'll crave for is to be held down and fucked by an alpha?"

This was another reason why he knew he'd hate being known as an omega. Even the thought of it actually happening made his insides feel disgusted and anger replaced his aversion at the moment as he grabbed the pudding cup from his plate to smash it on the alpha's face.

"Eat shit asshole!"

Jungkook and Taehyung had entered the cafeteria to see a loud ongoing commotion exactly at the table where they usually sat for lunch. And while Jungkook found himself trying to understand what was actually going on, Taehyung had already joined in to add onto the commotion.

There were several alphas surrounding Jin, who had Lucas held down in a death choke, while the others tried to get the omega to stop from committing a murder right there.

"Why the hell are you hitting me?!" Hoseok screamed at Taehyung, throwing a punch back at the other "I'm on your side idiot!"

"Then why the fuck are you hitting me?!"

"Stop arguing and get Jin out of here!" Jungkook finally decided to put some sense into the two as he fought off the others surrounding Jin.

Taehyung abided instantly, wrapping his arms about Jin to pull him out of the crowd and carry him away, while the omega was still fuming in anger at an almost pale Lucas.

"Fucking moron! Try touching me one more time!! Crave for an alpha...my ass! I'll fucking rip your dick off!" Jin was still thrashing and screaming as Taehyung tried to tell him to calm down.

He carried Jin to an empty classroom, letting him down to sit atop a desk "you could get in trouble if don't stop..."

"Does it look like I fucking care! I'm in shit load of trouble already! Can't you see?!"

Taehyung could see...he could see the blood smudged on the cut on Jin's lip, he could see the way his eyes turned teary despite the anger burning in his gaze and he could also see how scared Jin actually was despite the strength he had to beat an alpha down.

He could see in those eyes all that Jin dared not speak.

He saw a tear slip Jin's eye and the omega instantly ducked his head, stern in his intention to not look weak and yet it was way too easy for Taehyung to sense what Jin was going through at the moment.

"What are you so troubled about? Why are you so upset about presenting as an omega?"

Taehyung saw Jin's shoulders shake as he quietly sobbed, yet denied to open up. Even though he knew he hadn't acquired his alpha instincts to the full yet, Taehyung could sense the confusion and self-disgust Jin was currently facing and a part of him felt a bizarre need to console the other.

"I-I...don't know" Jin spoke gulping down a sniffle "I don't know what to do..."

And it was like a click of coincidence that just when Taehyung took a step forward to console him, Jin leaned towards him as well...while Jungkook paused at the door to see Jin leaning his head against Taehyung's chest and the other simply coiled an arm around Jin's shoulder to rub at his back in gentle circles.

Jungkook still stood there to catch how fond Taehyung's gaze was on Jin...and he had a feeling that things were going to get really interesting from here on...
