Mase's POV

"MASON" i hear lottie screaming from inside, i had woken up early that morning, getting ready for training later on in the day, and i had left Lottie to sleep, knowing that she didn't have work today

i instantly get up and rush to the bathroom where i heard the screams

i look to see Lottie sitting on the toilet, absolutely crying her eyes out

"i'm bleeding" she whimpers

"fuck training, get dressed were going to the hospital" i say as a feeling of shock echos throughout my body

it had barely been 2 months since she was last hospitalised, and i could never begin to imagine how scary it would be for her, considering i was already scared like never before

we arrive at the ER and we manage to get her into the office of a doctor

"So how along are you?" she asks

"30 weeks" lottie replies in a scared tone

"did you have any pain from the bleeding?"

"no"

then the doctor does a scan

"well, i can see the problem here, this is a condition called placenta previa, its not too rare, and in your case its not currently very serious, but we are going to have to place you on bed rest for the next 5 weeks, and after that it is likely you will have to be monitored at the hospital, just in case we need an early delivery"

"is she going to be fine?" i ask in a terrified tone

"as long as we follow the correct precautions, baby will be perfectly fine, i just need you charlotte to stay somewhere comfortable, and only move when you need to use the bathroom or shower"

she also writes down a few medicines for us to buy, and on our way out of the hospital we purchase them

as soon as we get home i can see tears dribbling down her face

"whats wrong?" i ask

"you don't seem to care? do you? im scared Mase but you haven't spoken a word"

"Hey, Hey, Char, i cant begin to imagine how terrifying this is for you, but i will make this as easy as i can for you, because in the end im scared too, but i can't show that or else you'll be more scared, and all i care about right now is that both of you are perfectly fine, yeah?"

i hug her and she stops crying

"well i guess were bloody lucky that we live in a flat"

i begin to sort out our room for her, making it as comfortable as i can, because i can't imagine how annoying it would be to be in the same place not allowed to move for a month straight

Lottie's POV

i am terrified

it's just scary how in a couple of hours my life could be turned upside down like this, no one knew about it yet except me and Mase, and i was beginning to feel guilty for not at least telling my family or Jade, either way i was going to have to tell work that i can't be in for the next two months excluding my normal maternity leave

.

first i begin by calling Jade

"Jade?"

"yeah lottie"

"im on bedrest"

"what what what?"

"i expect you to know what bedrest is "

"yeah, but why?"

"i randomly started bleeding this morning"

"lottie you don't understand how fast i would be at your house if i didn't happen to be getting ready for my shift right now"

"Jade, you have no obligation to visit me, im perfectly fine"

"i have to though lottie"

"Jade, don't prioritise me over more important things like work or your boyfriend, im always going to be here, your literaly the one who told me that"

"lottie, just because im the one who said that is the only reason your getting away with this, but ill be at yours tommorow 3pm sharp, okay?"

"yeah, sure"

then it was time to inform mum

"mum?"

"hi lottie"

"mum i need to tell you something but you need to promise me that your not going to get the next train to london"

"what happened?"

"mum im on bedrest"

"why?" she says confused

"i randomly started bleeding the morning, and the doctor put me on bedrest for the next month and then ill have to be under hospital monitoring for the month after"

"okay thats it im going to the station"

"mum your not leaving Portsmouth, im perfectly good and you have other things to deal with that aren't me"

"Lottie, your my daughter, i have to come"

"mum i promise im fine, doctor said so"

"Lottie you know i love you, and in the end the baby in your stomach is also my granddaughter, and i love her just as much, same with Mason, i could never have imagined him to be the man he is, and im glad you have him Lottie, but it breaks me to be far from you Charlotte, you know how much it hurt me when you and your siblings left home, and i knew this was for your good so i let you go, but you being far from me and in poor health, i can't live with myself like that"

"mum, you've already done so much for me and i couldn't ask for any more than that, but you have other things to attend to than me, the world doesn't revolve around me, and you've agreed to be here when im giving birth, and i see that as more than enough"

"Lottie, i will agree to staying, but if i find out one more thing has happened to you, i will be in London before you can say no"

"deal then"

Mase's POV

"Mason you are fucking dead, first training session of the new season and we've got a new gaffer in and you've managed to not show up, how fucking stupid are you? ive been ringing you all morning too and you haven't even bothered to reply to any of messages or voicemails" Chilly screams over the phone

"Ben, you don't understand why i wasn't there"

"well you better explain because coach was in a shitty mood all morning because of you Mason, you."

"Lottie was bleeding this morning, we obviously had to go to the ER"

"shite, what happened?"

"they've got her on bed rest for the next month, then they want her in the hospital after that until she has the baby"

"Mate. im sorry for what i said a second ago"

"its fine, you didn't know, i'd probably say the same things if i were in your position"

"im sorry man, i hope your both alright, i can't imagine this to be easy at all for either of you"

"thanks chilly"

"again im sorry pal, call up coach and explain to him or else you'll get an even worse scolding tommorow"

"yeah, probably should"

"Mason where the fuck were you today? first proper training session this season and you haven't fucking showed up" i hear on the phone as im getting scolded by the new gaffer

"Im genuinely sorry coach, ive had a rough day, i was in the ER this morning with my girlfriend who's pregnant, she needed to see a doctor urgently, im really sorry, i really hope i haven't made a bad impression"

"oh, i apologise for all the shouting, if i'd known the proper reason i wouldn't have scolded you, i understand your issue, and this better be a one time thing, and i really hope your girlfriend and your baby are doing well"

"thanks coach, i also apologise, ill be there for sure tommorow"

"thank you mase"
