A Magical Delivery...
POV: Hermione. Play the song darlings...😘
I groggily awoke from my utter exhaustion.
Hearing the muffles of Draco speaking in my room, as I laid quietly watching from the bed, provided for me here in my new mother's suite at Dr. Ravenwood's maternity ward.
Simultaneously, witnessing the sweetness of my Draco standing, walking, and cradling our baby in his loving arms. And hearing my husband's voice quieting our daughter and comforting her cries, all the while singing 'Blackbird' to her from the ever famous Beatles.
"Shhhh... darling... Blackbird singing in the dead of night... take these broken wings and learn to fly, all your life. We've waited for this moment to arrive..." Draco finished his own improvised version of newly treasured lyrics specifically chosen for our daughter, and kissing her forehead as she magically calmed down. This existential monument of fatherly love brought tears to my eyes, and idly drizzled down my cheeks as I watched this enchanting moment between a father and his daughter.
"Oh! Look who's also awake my darling! Mummy... your Mum's awake sweetheart," Draco whispered to her, noticing that I had awakened and was watching them. He began to glide his feet closer and rocking her over towards my bed, in the act of listening to her precious angelic coo's in his arms.
"Good morning, Mum," Draco smiled bending down to kiss my lips and handing me our daughter to lay comfortably in my arms.
"How long was I out for Draco? You could've woken me earlier love," I yawned and felt the aches of soreness, additionally feeling the affects of pushing our baby out of my body for an hour straight last night.
"Hermione, love, you needed the rest. I took care of her, didn't I darling? Yes..." Draco indulgently conveyed to me of my much needed slumber in his adorable fatherly tones, and gesturing to the baby by placing his hand on her tummy and reaching up to kissing my lips again.
Draco was so wonderfully helpful with the baby and myself. He was always tending to our every need.
All men should be this supportive of their children, especially as newborns. The only experience I had ever lived through before was with what's his name and he never lifted a finger to help me with Layla or Hugo. And the thought about changing a nappy never occurred to him, yet alone even actually offering in doing so.
I was truly, the luckiest witch and woman in existence to have Draco Malfoy as my husband. And now, being the father of our beautiful daughter.
"I still think she looks exactly like you," Draco adamantly expressed, sitting next to us on the bed worshipping her and myself.
"She's the perfect combination of us both, I think... she has the shape of my eyes, among the most mosaic mixture of my brown eyes and your stormy grays with hints of blue all around them. They're honestly, the most incredible marbled eye color I have ever viewed. It's almost likely a new found color of a miraculous hazel isn't it? She also, has my nose. And, she has your mouth," I spoke with a smile as our baby girl began to get a bit fussy and I lightly patted her bum and bounced her to calm her down. "She's definitely got your feisty attitude," Draco taunted with a chuckle kissing my cheek as I gave him a cheeky side eye and a matching smirk.
"She has beautiful hair! It's a color of both of ours spellbound to perfection! I don't think a dye or a spell in the world could conjure it!" I laughed referring to her gorgeous thick wavy locks of mine and Draco's hair color onto hers as a shiny blondish auburn dream. She was stunning and had the best of both of us created into her. She was both Draco and I... That we lovingly created and bonded us as her parents forever. She was the exemplary definition of our love and we made this gorgeous creature because of it. Along with the magic guiding nudge of Mrs. Weasley's fertility elixir, of course too.
We suddenly heard a knocking at the door and I affirmed to Draco that whoever it was, could come in.
"Well, how's the new parents and baby girl doing this morning?!" Dr. Ravenwood's southern drawl echoed entering the room to check on us.
"We're doing splendidly, Dr. Ravenwood. I'm just a bit sore still," I revealed honestly with a tiresome exhale.
"Well darlin', that's completely understandable. You keep taking those pain reliever potions every four hours, Hermione. And you'll feel better in no time. You definitely went through the ringer to have this little angel didn't you darlin'?" Dr. Ravenwood's deep Carolina tones strummed, while grinning looking down at our girl as I nodded 'yes' and bulging my eyes with a puffing chuckle from my mouth and abdomen in remembering the strenuous delivery.
"You three can go home later this afternoon. I'll have Hazel make sure you're well supplied with all your needs of course, before you skedaddle out with your hands full. Congratulations, Hermione and Draco!" Dr. Ravenwood paused, talking directly to me now. "And hey, I like this husband. He's a great man, Hermione. He didn't faint at all, like you know who did," Dr. Ravenwood chuckled, concluding his hilarious personality shaking Draco's hand and leaving us with his final goodbyes.
"Thank you for taking such good care of my wife and our daughter, Dr. Ravenwood," Draco appreciatively spoke while shaking his hand.
"Of course. You're a very blessed wizard, Mr. Malfoy. Congratulations again," Dr. Ravenwood warmly voiced and within a flicker of time, he disapparated from our room.
"Don't I know it," Draco turned to me with his tender words kissing me once again.
"Hermione, dear! Your family is here to see you!" Hazel, my witches healer and nurse relayed to me, peaking through the door.
"Yes! Yes! They can come in!" I said with much anticipation to see the rest of our family piling in the tiny room with Fran, Layla, Hugo, and Scorpius barging in. As well as both, Narcissa and Lucius joining us as apart of our family.
Draco and I, then watched our family taking turns holding our new bundle of joy, our new member of the Malfoy family...
"Oh, Hermione, she's breathtakingly beautiful! She truly looks exactly like you!" Narcissa cried, holding her new granddaughter. And passing her along to Lucius who was standing next to her. "She's definitely a Malfoy isn't she? Look at her subtle heritage given grey eyes of Draco's. Just a gift she is," Lucius wholeheartedly affirmed.
Thereafter, Layla held her sister with tears streaming down her rosy cheeks. I tried to hold in my own blubbers but nevertheless, I was unsuccessful seeing the bond of two sisters meeting each other for the very first time.
"We're going to have so much fun together," Layla whispered and kissed her cheek, as her baby sister clearly liked her voice and gave an adorable 'oooo' sound, almost seeming as if she was answering her big sister back.
We made the boys sit down in the rocking chair in the corner at different separate times, as Draco stood closely by, in case of needing to step in.
"Gentle... Hold her head upright, Scorpius," Draco calmly instructed our son with a smile.
Scorpius absolutely broke my heart looking at his sister with his awestruck eyes. And soon made his opinions aloud to us...
"She's never having a boyfriend... Not if Hugo and I have our say in it. And she bloody isn't!" Scorpius proclaimed eyeing Hugo with both of them nodding in brotherly agreement. "Good one, Scorp. She's never leaving alone without one of us or both of us in tow!" Hugo strongly stated making us all laugh.
"Well, that makes me feel loads better, knowing I have back up. And the same goes for you too, Layla," Draco smiled and tauntingly voiced aloud chuckling at our sons declarations.
"Hermione! Draco! Please! Tell us her name! We're perplexingly schvitzing over here!" Fran barked in her infectious Yankee accent causing us all to laugh. And the rest of our girl lot of Narcissa and Layla to agreeably yell, "YES!" with Fran still holding our daughter and bringing her back over to lay in my arms.
"Do you want to tell them or should I?" I asked Draco, prolonging the anxiously awaiting crowd full of wonderment on their joyous faces.
"You tell them, darling," Draco said with his sexily playable smirk.
They'd waited long enough...
"Saoirse Elle Malfoy."
I breathed her name aloud for the world to hear. And also, for the very first time, to our family standing before us.
"Her name means 'freedom' in Irish. Draco and I discovered her name together, when we found out she was a girl. And it fits her perfectly doesn't it?" I cried not being able to control my wildly emotional hormones. Draco kissed my lips and I revealed more of the story behind Saoirse's name.
"She's a representation of our loving freedom for the world to see that Draco and I, loved each other freely in our lifetime and freed of judgment. She's truly a sovereign model to show the world that we created her. Her entirety exudes our freedom and through that, she exists because of it," I expressed the remainder of the origins of our angel's name.
"Oh. My. Ga-w-w-d! Hermione! I need a Kleenex! Hurry! Someone! Imma have to practice sayin' her name correctly for quite awhile, but I love it! Give me the whole damn box! G-a-a-h-h!" Fran sobbed blowing her nose into a tissue handed to her by Hugo, who was trying not to laugh at her overwhelming commotions.
"We love it, Hermione! We just love it darling. Simply beautiful. Just like her mother and father..." Narcissa gave us their blessings, coming over to me and Draco, kissing both of our cheeks. And Lucius followed, coming to shake Draco's hand in their gentlemanly ways. Lucius then stepped closer to me bending slightly down and kissed my cheek with a warm smile. Merlin, had the times changed, healing our old wounds. And look where we are today...
"We'll take the kids home and give Fran a break for while, is that alright with you dears?" Narcissa suggested her inquires to Draco and I, as well as Fran, and we happily agreed.
We said our farewells to our family, telling them we'd see them at home later this afternoon, when we would finally be bringing Saoirse home.
Draco sat down on the bed next to me and our daughter, giving me his devotional looks and speaking...
"Well, you think we should keep her? Baby's are a bloody nuisance... aren't you darling?" Draco pestered in his teases with a smile as we watched Saoirse slowly closing her eyes to sleep in my arms. And I answered Draco's statements with my own clever provoking...
"You loathsome serpent you. We would never," I narrowed my eyes onto his heaven sent deceptions with Draco leaning down and smiling into my kisses.
"We created a pretty otherworldly daughter didn't we?" Draco whispered against my lips as I responded with a smiling nod and tears coming down my cheeks once again.
"I love you, Draco Malfoy." I breathed my imperishable devotions to the wizard of my dreams.
"I love you more, Hermione Malfoy..." he hushed brushing his lips against mine of his immortality intimated everlasting love.
And then he kissed me..
