Escaping with a Broken Heart
It has been too long. I have stayed too long. I have grown an emotional attachment to these people. Every single one of them. Which is bad...
Really bad...
"(y/n)!~ Come on! Let's go hang out! I wanna go around and dance!" Lamia shouts loudly whining rolling around my bed sheets. I sigh ignoring her cries as I continue to pack my bags and read book at the same time. It looked like a book but it was actually hiding a map.
I smile to myself listening on Lamia's loud chatter.
I will miss this. I miss him... I shook my head shaking the thoughts of him out of my head. I plan to leave tonight. That is that. It has been too long. I have overstayed my stay here in Sindria.
"Lamia," I call out to her softly making her stop her whining as she stares at me in surprise. I smile at her making my way towards her. "You want to go dancing?"
Her lovely green eyes lit up as she smiles at me.
"Lets go!~" She cheers as she quickly rolls off my bed and we were off.
We began to run through the halls and left the castle with a loud cheer of joy and happiness. I laugh along the way as Lamia drags me all the way. People recognized us and greet us. Some handed us free snacks and lovely handmade jewelry. I chuckle when a few kids wanted us to play with them. A few of them were just out right crying for us to just play with them in general and talk. Lamia and I gave in and took a moment to sit down with them while chowing down on the snacks we got.
"Lamia is so cute with those new braids in her hair!" A little girl points at Lamia's short brown hair with a few small braids on the left side. I smile knowing she changed her hair because of a certain red head.
"Oh!~ Why umm thank you! And you are so pretty with those pink seashells you wear on your bracelet. Makes me kind of jealous~" Lamia retorts back to the little girl whose eyes lit up.
"If you want! I can make you one!" The little girl shouts in excitement getting up from her spot.
"Haha don't forget about me," I jokingly cry as the little girl smiles to me nodding. I laugh as I hug her tightly thanking her. She just laughed with a wide smile across her sweet face hugging me back. I pet the top of her head. I feel like a mother.
I really miss my mom...
I wished I could have told her I loved her more often and held her hand more.
I look up at the clear blue sky smiling softly.
"I hope you're well... mom," I mumble under my breath smiling up at the sky. Afterwards, some more random children came to join us. Lamia and I dance around laughing with the kids and some of the fellow citizens of Sindria. They really do love their carefree lifestyle. All of their smiles are so bright. I have never been in such a warm and welcoming place like this ever. Sure I had a roof over my head but I never had people be purely happy like this.
I use a little magic to make certain instruments levitate ad play by themselves. I chuckle singing along with Lamia harmonizing and dancing around.
[Timeskip]
We ended up causing such a ruckus they ended having another celebration tonight.
This will be easier for me.
I was able to sneak away and went looking around for a certain "king" who I needed to speak to. I do quick chatter here and there with a few people along the way while searching around for certain purple-haired man. I was able to catch a view of him next to Ja'far so I was quick on my feet. I squeeze through a few people and I reach my hand out calling out to him.
"Sin!~" I shout to him waving with a wide smile across my face. His bright golden eyes shift over to me from his cup and he furrows his brows in confusion. I chuckle as I approach. Sinbad looks back at Ja'far who just looks back at Sinbad before walking away. I watch Ja'far walk away before looking up at Sinbad as I approach him.
"Jeez he could have said hi too," I pout a little.
"What is it? You called out to me," Sinbad states before taking a sip from his golden cup.
"Oh! Is it bad to want to spend some time with my savior?" I joke as I nudge his chest. He chuckles softly.
"You flatter me haha. Anyways, what exactly did you want from me?" Sinbad stares deeply into my (e/c) eyes making my heart ache. Please, don't look at me with those eyes. Don't look at me with those hopelessly earnest eyes that make me want to stay.
"Sin..." I grab onto his arm. Sinbad's eyes open widely in surprise from my actions. I smile looking up at him despite the faint blushing on my cheeks.
"I want to thank you," I was able to pull him aside. He let me drag him through the crowd.
"Wanting to spend some alone time with me?" Sinbad laughs as he hands his cup away to a random person as he grabs tightly onto my hand. I laugh as we both ran throughout the crowd finally finding our way out. People gave us stares but we didn't care as we run about laughing like a bunch of kids.
His hands are so warm. They always reassure me. They always made me feel secure.
"Sinbad!" Ja'far calls out to him.
{Cue the Music]
"Time to fully book it!" Sinbad laughs as he grasps your hand tightly taking the lead as we both ran away from Ja'far and back to the castle. We chuckle and laugh as we wander the halls aimlessly. We hid behind a pillar laughing.
"Haha, Ja'far looked so angry!~" I laugh with Sinbad laughing along with me.
"He won't chase after us. I'm too much trouble already as it is~" He says jokingly as he laughs. I always adored his smile. I smile happily as I reach my hand out to him. I slowly caress his cheeks with both my hands.
"Sin..." I say his name softly making him stop laughing. Sinbad stares down at me with a unfamiliar gleam in his golden eyes. I took a deep breath before I wrap my arms around his neck hugging him tightly.
"Eh... (y/n)?"
"Sin, can I love you tonight?"
There was a moment of silence.
Before I knew it his lips were on top of mine as he ran my fingers through (h/c) hair holding me there. My eyes widen in shock from the sudden action but before I knew it my heart was pounding and I melted into the kiss. Sinbad didn't spare a moment as he passionately yet tenderly kisses my lips with his own. The moonlight shines bright behind the pillar hiding us. I felt his hands roll down my spine. After a while of holding the long kiss, Sinbad pulls away parting our lips.
There was a moment of silence. His golden eyes staring down into my own (e/c) eyes. I was totally enraptured by this man.
We didn't need words.
We just needed our eyes.
Our lips.
Our hands.
Our hearts.
We just needed us.
The night was filled with just Sinbad and I. Sinbad and I...
Nothing to disturb us. We didn't do anything disgusting. We didn't do anything that hurt either of us. We did nothing that could make either of us feel unneeded.
It was just him and I loving each other. Throughout the whole night Sinbad didn't let my hand go. We held each other's hand all night long as we shared a passionate night together.
[Timeskip]
I stare up at Sinbad's face as he lays there sleeping ever so peacefully. The moonlight had become dull but was still bright to a point. Sinbad still held my hand ever so tightly under his sheets. Our clothes sprawled around the room. I couldn't help but smile.
"You really are an amazing person," I whisper under my breath. I use my other free hand to caress his cheek as I kiss him softly on the lips before pulling away. I try to free my hand without waking him. I was successfully able to slip my hand away out of his warm grasp.
I quietly yet quickly put my clothes back on. I look back at Sinbad. He was sleeping so happily. As if the world was just... bliss.
I held back the urge to cry as I stared at his face. I held my breath as I leave his room and quickly rush to mine. I grab my bag that I packed earlier and rush to grab the letters I wrote to everyone.
I adorn my bed with the letters and a small marble for each and every one of them. I wrote to the generals. I made sure to write one to Lamia. I made sure to write one for Sinbad as well. I stare at Sinbad's letter longingly. I grab it placing a simple kiss on it before placing back on my bed.
Quietly I was able to bypass the guards and left the castle without leaving a hint of my absence. I used some air magic that I learned from Yamraiha and lifted off into the air. With only a simple bag full of some basic needs over my shoulder.
I look back at Sindria as I swiftly fly over the ocean.
"I love you Sinbad," I said tearing up. The tears stream down my cheek and down my chin as I quickly turn away flying away.
"May you be blessed with joy. Be happy and please... don't forget me."
[Timeskip and Third Person POV]
The next morning it was full of silence all around Sindria. It had it's usual liveliness but everyone in the castle knew what was missing. But everyone proceeded on with their day as if nothing had happened. Except for a certain purple-haired king who sits alone in (y/n)'s room with a letter written to him in his hand crumpled. He stares down at his feet. He shown no tears. But there in King Sinbad's golden eyes were signs of loss.
He had lost a bit of his sanity to a broken heart.
And he let (y/n) escape with a broken heart of her own.
"I didn't even get to say it first..." Sinbad states in slight frustration as he stared down at the letter. Only three words that made his own big heart ache so...
"I love you."
