Chapter 5 - Baking At 2 AM
I dumped my duffel bag in the corner of the room with everyone else's and plopped down on the couch. Hikaru came and sat down next to me.
"So, what you guys wanna do?" He asked as everyone came over and sat down.
"Why don't we watch a movie?" I suggested, and nearly everyone agreed. Honey had fell asleep in the car, so Mori dumped him on a beanbag at the back of the room and put a blanket over him.
Kaoru went and got a selection of films and some blankets, and I sat down with Hikaru and Haruhi to pick.
"Omg you've got (your fave film)!" I cheered, as I picked it up and showed it to them. I asked everyone in the room, and they all agreed. Everyone then took it in turns to change into their pjs before the film.
Kaoru put it in the DVD player, and I got comfy under the blanket I was sharing with Hikaru.
I ended up sat with my legs stretched out over Hikaru, him resting his hands gently on top of them. As we watched the film on the huge flat screen tv, he began drawing little circles on my shins with his finger.
About halfway through the film, he began to slowly move his hand up my leg. However, when he got to just above the knee, I slipped my hand under the blanket to stop him going too far. He used this as a chance to intertwine our hands together, and without realising, stayed that way for the rest of the movie.
As the movie ended, Haruhi and Mori (and I think Kyouya) had fell asleep, leaving me, Tamaki and the twins awake. I sighed as I removed my legs from over Hikaru and curled up at the end of the sofa.
"Right, I'm shattered. Night guys." I said, before snuggling down into the soft velvet sofa.
"Night daughter! Sweet dreams!~" Tamaki cooed as he grabbed a blanket and laid along side me, but on the floor. I tousled his hair from above sleepily.
"Thanks, I will." Was the last thing I said, before falling into a nice deep sleep.
*** time skip to about 2:00 AM ***
I sat up on the sofa and looked around. It was dark in the room, and everyone was still asleep. I picked up my phone which was on the arm of the sofa. It was just gone 2:00 AM.
Suddenly, a grumbling noise like thunder erupted from my stomach. I looked around nervously. Thank goodness no one heard that. I really shouldn't be hungry right now.
"What was that noise?" Groaned someone on the other side of the room. I froze, as I saw the silhouette of what looked like Kaoru sitting up. As I was sitting up too, he saw me, and looked at me confusedly.
"(Y/n), was that you?" He asked quietly. I nodded shyly. He laughed. "You wanna go get something to eat?"
"Uh... Yes please." I said bashfully.
"Alright, I'll show you to the kitchen." I climbed carefully over Tamaki, who was still fast asleep beneath me, before following Kaoru to their huge kitchen.
"Woah!" I awed at the huge, modern room, running a finger over the large island in the middle. Kaoru laughed as I looked around.
"So, what you wanna eat?" He asked, grabbing my attention back.
"Uh, anything, I don't mind." I answered, and he began looking around.
"Really, just take whatever you want." I nodded, and began thinking of what to make.
"If it's okay, I'm gonna make some cookies. You want some?" He nodded, and I proceeded to get out the ingredients and equipment that I needed.
"How did you even hear that though?" I asked as I began to make the mixture.
"What, your tummy rumble? I'm quite a light sleeper. But what I'd like to know is how did you make that noise?" I laughed at him and shrugged my shoulders.
"I dunno."
As I was rolling the dough, I felt a pair of arms snake around my waist, and somebody rest their chin on my shoulder. It made me jump, and I turned my head to see Kaoru standing there, his cheeks rather pink.
"Uh... Kaoru..." I mumbled. I felt him smile into my shoulder.
"Sorry, just let me stay like this a moment more." I sighed, and began to flatten out the dough in small circles, and place them on the tray, all with a koala like Kaoru clinging to me. I was quite proud of it myself.
"Uh, you're gonna need to get off so I can put these in the oven." I told him. He whined, before reluctantly letting me go so I could place the tray in the oven. I closed the door and stood up, and almost instantly his arms were around me again. I rolled my eyes.
"Kaoru, if you're teasing me, please stop now." I warned him.
"Why would you think that?" He asked, almost shocked, as he let go of me to look me in the eyes, his cheeks still extremely pink.
"Well, I mean, you're a host. You practically flirt with girls for a living." I told him, sitting down on the cold tiled floor, leaning against a cupboard parallel to the oven. I watched the cookies bake slowly.
Kaoru came and sat next to me, and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. "You gotta remember, that's only for inside the club. I don't do any of that stuff outside."
I nodded, and we sat like that until I reckoned the cookies were done. I picked up a tea towel from the side and took them out of the oven. The smell of cookies wafted through the room.
"What are you doing up so early? And why does it smell so good?" I looked to the door to see Tamaki in his pjs, his hair all messy.
"Baking cookies with Kaoru." I told him.
"Oh, baking cookies with Kaoru... Baking cookies with Kaoru?!" He yelled, as he ran over to me. "He didn't do anything dirty to you, did he? That shady twin didn't try anything on my darling little girl, right?" He grabbed me by the arms and looked me right in the eyes, our foreheads together. I tried to back away but he had a tight grasp on me.
"Since when was I ever 'your little girl'?" I asked him. He then dashed into the corner of the room and huddled with his knees to his chest, looking all depressed.
"Umm... Tamaki?" I asked him, but he just began making little whimpering dog noises.
"He's gonna stay like that until you apologise." Said Kaoru. I looked at him confusedly. What?
"Uh- Sorry Tamaki?" It came out as more of a question. He looked at me with sad eyes, before turning back away.
"You don't mean it." You could tell he had a pout on his lips, even though he was facing the wall. I walked over to him and crouched down next to him. I don't really know what I did wrong, but if apologising makes him stop sitting in the corner by himself, then whatever.
"Tamaki, I'm sorry." I tried my best to look upset.
"You really mean it?" He asked, looking at me with the most adorable puppy dog eyes. I nodded.
"I knew it! You're so cute, (y/n)!" He cried, as he grasped me in the tightest hug ever. I patted him back, before he slowly set me back on the ground.
"What's the racket in here?" Asked a very tired Hikaru, dragging his blanket behind him. When he saw me, Tamaki and Kaoru, he just sighed. "Why are you all in here?"
"Well, (y/n)'s tummy made the loudest sound ever, so we made some cookies, then Tamaki woke up and caused a huge racket, and now your up." Explained Kaoru. Meanwhile, I had tiptoed over to the tray and began eating the slightly warm cookies.
"Hey, (y/n), don't eat all the cookies! I wanna try one!" Whined Tamaki. I held out a cookie for him, and he took it between his teeth. He chewed it happily, before swallowing. "They're so good!"
"Shhh! You're gonna wake up Kyouya!" Tamaki suddenly stated, looking absolutely terrified. Him and the twins shuddered, as if imagining the consequences of him awakening at this hour.
"I don't get it." I said, and they all whispered at once.
"You don't wanna know."
So after all of us had had our fill on cookies, I began to feel the tiredness fall back on me. It was nearly half three now.
"I'm so tired, I'm gonna go get some sleep now." I yawned, walking back to the living room. The guys nodded and followed me back. I picked up my blanket and got comfy back on the couch, and as soon as my head hit the armrest, I was out like a light.
